Bathroom smells so bad

Bathroom smells so heavy. Room needed deep cleaning. Clean but many dirty spots on the carpet. I would not stay there again because of bathroom smell. The rest of the hotel would get 2.5 or 3 stars.

On arrival to the hotel it didnt start too well but as soon as i made the reception aware of the things i needed sorting within minutes they got it done yes i mean minutes! The front staff are so helpful and friendly, he even offered to order me food in as i arrived around 1am at the hotel, they made me aware of all the best locations to visit and how to travel there, helped me download an app to get rates on taxis so you dont get ripped off. I had such a great experience and its all down to all of the staff at the hotel. The rooms are ok, perfect location to walk to all of the sites, around 5 minute walk from the blue mosque and 10 minutes away from the grand baazar. Lots of options available for breakfeast and continental breakfast. Free tea throughout the day and night! Just want to thank the staff again for helping my trip become memorable.

Clean and comfortable stay in Istanbul.

Hotel Evsen is definitely a good hotel for the price. The room is spacious clean and comfortable. The breakfast was sumptuous. If it get a little too cold in the room you can always ask for extra blankets. The guest relations staff were awesome and always friendly to answer any questions that you have in mind. Strong signal of wifi too. The location is superb just minutes away from the major attractions in Istanbul. There is a city tram that runs to most places just on the main street. There are lots of restaurants in the area that are top rated by Tripadvisor. Just outside the hotel you can find good coffee if you are an avid coffee drinker like me. From Istanbul Atatruk airport, the journey is about 25-30 minutes Overall a good stay.

very close to Soltanahmet and Grand Bazar 10 min by walking
Local area sorrounded by restaurants and coffe shops and nightlife is great.

We stayed in an economy room, they told us that is small room and without window; and it was really small. But there was no problem, because it was so clean and with good light and also clean.
All the day we were out of hotel, so the size of room wasn't important to us; the bed was comfortable and the breakfast variety was also good for a 3 star hotel.

Great price location and staff!

Hotel Evsen was a great budget hotel in the heart of Istanbul. Within walking distance to the Bosphorus, grand bazaar, Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia and very close to the restaurants and shops along Hüdavendigar road. You can't ask for a more central location. The staff were very friendly, thank you to Huseyn, Onur and Salem who were very accommodating during my stay and always ready to help with transport, local tips and my luggage! I would not hesitate to book again!

This is a small hotel in a built up but quiet area

We stayed for a week in September during a busy festival period. breakfast was a Continental style with a Turkish twist. Plenty of it with free coffee and cereals/toast for the less adventurous. our original budget room was very small and so we moved to a larger room for a small cost but with no hassle from the very accommodating staff. the hotel is very well presented and clean but has no bar or restaurant itself. There are however, several quality bars and restaurants within minutes strolling distance.

Good hotel and good location

Initially upon check in we were given a very small room facing the street, with what is considered a view room. When we asked for a bigger room we were immediately accommodated, and our second room was considerably bigger and more comfortable. It did not have any view however, which was insignificant for us. The room was very clean. The housekeeper and the front desk very helpful and welcoming. Lots of good advice from the front desk. Breakfast was the best we had anywhere in Turkey....and we did generally have very good breakfasts everywhere... But more variety here. The only thing missing was fresh fruit. The location is great ... Close to the metro and walking distance to the main attractions, but on a very quiet side street.

Enjoyed the stay , but ..

I really enjoyed the stay , very welcoming and helpful staff , decent breakfast with an amazing view and the perfect location which I choose the hotel for , its a small walk from Eminonu and sultanahmet , I could almost walk to the most of my trips from there

On the other side , my room was very very small , not 15 sqm as the descreption , it was around 11 or 12 , the only view from the window was the window of the front room , therr was an annoying noise always at night , sounded like a ventilation fan of the next room bathroom .and finally which was annoying but didnt notice untill last day , the house keeper didnt change the sheets , there was a small chocolate stain that we caused by mistake , 3 days later I notice that it was still there .

But over all , its good if you are out all day and coming back for a sleep , its beautifl , very nice staff , and its the best you can get with that budget \" it really is \"

The hotel was very comfortable. We've stayed here 2nd time (since 2009). The hotel is wonderful for its price, facilities and location. 5 minutes walk to Marmaray station (elevator!) and 2 minutes to Gulhane tram station. Rooms are clean but small. Small size of rooms is a common feature for all hotels of the kind in the area. Still there's enough space for 2 luggages, bedside tables, built-in closet that most of the hotels lack. Everything works, shower doesn't leak, enough light in the room, it was +10C outside but we had no need to turn on a heater. The beakfast was very good!

Nice Hotel in the center of old Istanbul

A nice little hotel, the best we found so far in its price range and in this particular location. Getting to it is extremely easy, it is 5 minutes walking distance from the Metro station. Its location is perfect in the old center of Istanbul, it is walking distance away from most tourist attractions in the area like St. Sophia, Top Kapi, the Cisterns etc...
Like all hotels of this class in this area, the room is small but very comfy as it has a good closet, drawers ets enough to keep you things out of the way. The toilet is really small, the toilet seat is in close proximity with the shower cabin so you cannot even sit properly on it. The sink is so small and with the faucet located in its center it can be difficult to wash your face. It has enough accessories (shelves, hangers) though to store all your toilet stuff like soap, shampoo bottles, shaving stuff etc... That said, the room and toilet are very nice, clean and neat. The staff is very nice, polite and helpful. The lift is nice and modern. The restaurant is located on top floor and offers a nice panoramic view of Istambul. The breakfast has a large variety of food and is nice.

Comfortable hotel next to attractions

The hotel staff were very welcoming and informative about tourist attractions. They were always ready to help us with any problems. Despite the hotel being on a traffic-free road there was still a lot of noise coming from building work during the night; this was a problem when trying to get to sleep. The room itself was quite small, however it was very clean and pleasant. The breakfast on offer in the restaurant was excellent, with a diverse selection of foods and a view of Topkapi Palace.

Hotel worth more than price.

My airport pickup was professionally arranged. Customer service at the hotel was outstanding.

I got assistance with my luggage, my room was a so worth more than its price, so clean, well decorated, I immediately took pictures and also breakfast was basic and nice.

The hotel is close to touristic areas of interest and the waterside too.

Any future stay in Istanbul must be at this hotel.

Very Small and No Windows

The hotel is bearable for short stay (1-2 days) but I don't recommend for longer stay. Our group had 3 rooms reserved none of the rooms had any windows which makes it very depressing. One of the rooms was the size of a closet 10 feet x 10 feet space and no windows. We didn't even have space to put our luggage. Breakfast was good. It served some hot foods in addition to your traditional turkish breakfast of cold cucumber, tomatoes, and cheese. The location was good as everything was within walking distance. I wouldn't go here again even if i was a 1 day traveller on the go, because you can find those places for much less in the big city of Istanbul. I should have stayed at Erboy next door for a little more because I had good experience there.

Excellent hotel - we will certainly be back!

Hotel Evsen and it's entire staff made our trip incredibly enjoyable! The hotel was elegant and hospitable. Our room was beautifully designed and very comfortable including all amenities we had hoped for - clean, large enough bathroom, closet space, sofa bed in addition to a queen sized bed, mini fridge, hair dryer and much much more. The concierge saw that we had 4 bags and upgraded us to a larger room free of charge. Tarun at the front desk was incredibly helpful - pointing out things we should do to see the true Istanbul, how to get everywhere, when to go. The concierge even went the extra mile to call and make dinner reservations for us and arrange all of our excursions. THe hotel's location was ideal - a five minute walk from all the sights and on a beautiful pedestrian only street filled with restaurants and cafes. Breakfast at this hotel is amazing! Very delicious and a wide variety of food to choose from - not to mention the excellent views on the 6th floor hotel restaurant! Overall, we highly recommend Hotel Evsen to all travelers.

A very good choice!

This was our first stay at this hotel and we stayed for 8 nights. This hotel is located in the heart of old Istanbul, within walking distance of the major attractions, on a pedestrian street with several shops and good restaurants, and a tram station for those who wish to visit attractions away from the centre of town. The friendly and helpful multi-lingual staff provided us with accurate and valuable advice on attraction opening and closing times and arranged all of our tour bookings with great efficiency. We truly appreciated the advice and the quality of the tour packages they recommended. The hotel provides an excellent breakfast buffet with the option of having a fresh omelette made just for you. Our room was not luxurious however it was very clean and all of the furnishings were in good condition. Our room was a standard room; we expected the room to be small based on the reviews posted on Hotels.com by previous guests so we were not surprised or disappointed when we saw that our was indeed quite small. Travellers who need space should select another type of room. The hotel provides a small street level sitting area for guests who wish to enjoy the outdoors and kindly allowed us to use the glassed-in top floor terrace when we wanted some peace and quiet during the afternoon. This is a very well managed hotel with friendly and helpful staff, we would not hesitate to recommend it.

No windows in my room

My wife and I were really disappointed with our room. We paid a decent amount ahead of time and they put us in a first floor room with no windows. It felt very stuffy and my wife felt claustrophibic. I would not reserve there in advance unless you can be guaranteed a room with a window. The positive was that the breakfast was very good and the location was convenient. Fortunately we were only there one night.

Spent 5 nights at Evsen. The rooms are quite small and bathroom even smaller. But the service was great, location wise is best and breakfast is one of the best you could find in Europe.
All in all, great stay for the price and location makes it possible to visit almost all the attractive places Istanbul has to offer by foot.

I didn't like this hotel at all. the photos of standard rooms are completely different from the real ones. There is not even a bottle of water in the fridge. There is no phone available even to inside Istanbul. Stuff were not friendly at all, At the check out they had problem with charging hotels.com and they ask me for cash!! Although I showed them my payment confirmation.

Value for money

My friend and I recently visited istanbul on a 5 day trip. Hotel evsen was in a good location- only a short walk to ayasofia and blue mosque and many restaurants and shops on the street surrounding the hotel. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful and even carried our bags to the hotel after our taxi driver had called them to notify them of our arrival (the hotel is on a pedestrian only street). The hotels decor is upto date, the only downside would be the room size, this wasn't much of a problem for my friend and I as we were traveling with hand luggage sized suitcases and were only in the room to sleep. Overall our experience with this hotel and staff was a pleasant one and made for a fabulous time in the amazing istanbul.

Tiny room with bad sewage smell

Our room (101) was tiny with a very bad smell of sewage which, at first you were unaware of because of the heavy dosage of deodorant. As soon as deodorant dissipated the sewage smell emerged which was there till morning. Breakfast was meager selection of stale little buns, a hard boiled egg, and a dubious looking wee sausage. The coffee was good!

Good value for money but very small rooms, lack of fresh air as windows overlooked another building wall, standing only a meter away from our hotel. Because of this it becomes very noisy in the evenings as we heard noises from the surrounding buildings and neighbor rooms. However, if you can ignore this the location is excellent and very close to all sightseeing.

Close to major attractions.

The title reflects it. This hotel is in center of the city walking distance to every major Istanbul sight. The tram is 2 minutes away, there are lots of restaurants next door. The staff is very nice and helpful. The breakfast, while remaining a traditional Turkish fare offers more variety than some other hotels (bourekas - traditional savory pastry, were delicious and the juice selection was nice. Kiwi juice was refreshing and very good! Yummy! The breakfast is served on the rooftop terrace, and the overall breakfast experience just contributes to the right start of the day! My only problem with this hotel is that the room that I was given had no windows! While being very clean and comfortable, the lack of windows gave off an impression of a spacious janitor's closet transformed into a guest room. But since I stayed there for one night only, retired almost at midnight and checked out around 9 AM, I was ready to put up with this inconvenience.

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at Hotel Evsen. The location was perfect, the service friendly, and the breakfast was outstanding! I don't understand a previous comment that said the breakfast wasn't good.....eggs, sausage, 8 types of cheese, olives, bread, fresh fruit, espresso coffee, and more! Yes, the rooms were a bit small, but how much space do you really need? I would definitely recommend this place to everyone!

'A quiet hotel for the people into old buildings'

I was intrigued that this hotel had had such mixed reviews. My experience has definitely been at the strongly positive end. For its price per night it is in a great location but is quiet. I can't fault the staff, the breakfast or the facilities provided. My airconditioner worked, it was a room you could have swing a small sheep in, let alone a cat, the ensuite was clean and more than adequate. My only minor complaint was that I have slept on younger mattresses - or maybe my body is just older.
The restaurant next door (uphill) was congenial and well priced, though others nearby may have been as good. The point is that everything from the Hagia Sophia and Blue Mosque, to the Topkapi Palace, the waterfront ferries, and the Sirkeci railway station, are close by. And it is a fairly easy place to get to by metro and tram on the arrival day from Attaturk airport. At this hotel I think you are getting more than you pay for.

Hotel evsen has recently been renovated and was very clean, free high speed wifi and the staff really friendly. It is conveniently located in the old historical part of the city with resturants on the street below.

It is very reasonably priced for the service you get. make sure you get a room to the street.
I would definitely recommend to a friend to stay.

Great location! From the Evsen Hotel you can Walk to the Spice Bazaar, Blue Mosque and the Hagia Sofia. To go further the Metro is maybe 100 yards away and 10-15 minutes the other direction are ferries to other parts of Istanbul for 1.90 Turkish Lira (with a metro card for 10 Turkish Lira) without a Metro card the metro and ferries will cost 3TL. If you plan to see a lot of the city we recommend the Metro card. On the same street as the hotel and nearby are numerous restaurants.

Staff is rude, breakfast is terrible.

During our stay, I walked into the room to find one of the housekeeping staff laying on my bed while talking on the phone (never cleaned the room). I complained to the management, and did not even receive an apology. The \"complimentary free\" breakfast is not good, it would be better to find a restaurant near by to eat. The room is incredibly small, I have stayed in hostels bigger than this room. But, I did not mind the small room as much but certainly am concerned about the staff etiquette. The only good quality is the hotel is in a good location.

We enjoyed our two night stay at Hotel Evsen. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The hotel is clean and well-kept. We one down side is the room size. We had a room in the back with no window and it was a very small room, maybe 8 feet by 10 feet. But we weren't there to stay in our hotel room, so we didn't mind. We enjoyed the continental breakfast as well...good selection of cheeses, pastries, yogurt and hard-boiled eggs. The location is wonderful...close to all the main historic sites.

Accidental over-entended stay

It was a very convenient hotel that was quite comfortable. Loved the breakfast buffet. I accidentally confused my check out day and the gentleman at the front desk, Mr. Sahin, kindly only charged me a cleaning fee and not the stay for an entire extra night. This was greatly appreciated and I was thankful for the understanding of the management in this matter. Will definitely stay at Hotel Evsen again on future trips to Istanbul.

Stayed 2 nights at Evsen. Loved it. Location is perfect. At a pedestrian street with lots of restaurants and drinking places, yet walking distance to Sultanhamet and Grand Bazaar. 10 min walk to Spice Bazaar. Tram station Gulhane is 2 min walk away. Although our room was clean and the bed comfotable i would not recomend this hotel to anyone. It was very small, like the size of a cupboard.The most dreadful thing was that there was no window in the room so no daylight whatsover and no fresh air.This made for a very uncomfortable stay. You had no idea what time of day or night it was when you woke up.We have been to Istanbul many times and although you dont get much for your money this was the worst place we have stayed

Great hotel in the heart of Istanbul

Loved it so much that on our return back to Istanbul we ended up staying there again. Staff is great and very accommodating and breakfast buffet is just right. Hotel is located within walking distance to the spice market (5-10min walk), Hagia Sophia/ Topkapi Place/ Blue Mosque (5-10 min walk) and the Grand Bazaar (10-15 min walk). The hotel is on an enclosed cobblestone street surrounded by lively charming restaurants and you never feel out of place. Istanbul in itself is a safe city and we felt more tahn safe at this location. Room is a little cramped but big enough for a queen size bed closests and refrig. Good enough for a couple, relaxing and comfortable. Plus if you are in Istanbul you are more than likely to be walking around and about than spending time in your hotel. Hotel staff was amazing the breakfast was amazing and the experience was amazing. I would recommend it to anyone thinking of staying within a economical budget. I've stayed there on 3 occassions already and would look to stay there again when going back to Istanbul.

The hotel is really close to about ninety percent of the main attraction. the staff are great and do offer to help you beyond your normal service. for example when it going to rain they advised in the morning that i could borrow one from them rather than buying a new one from the market. for the price and location its great. if you are used to Hilton and Marriott then this is NOT that but great for a place to stay overnight and focus more on the tourist sites. my room didn't have a bath which was slightly disappointing but otherwise i would be happy to recommend to anyone

Hotel Evsen

The staff were very helpful although we had to wait about ten minutes before we could check in. They were able to recommend a good tour.
However, we booked a room with a French Balcony, which cost extra, and did not get it and only realized when double checking the booking about two hours after checkin, and we were only staying one night so did not request a change; be clear about what you have booked when you arrive.
Breakfast was excellent.
Excellent location for sight-seeing but double check prices in nearby restaurants as they can be very expensive, particularly for wine.

I though it was a great hotel. Wonderful location., you step out and you're in the middle of the action. Close to the Spice Market., and Grand Bazaar and Blue Mosque., far from Isteghlal St., We decided to stay here on our last night before our flight (just got in from Antalya) ., comfortable., friendly staff and knowledgeable and great atmosphere. they have cool rooms with view and much bigger., our room was as big as the California King Bed., lol... but overall good experience. Great breakfast with cool view.,

Close to must see sights but rooms are small

The location and surroundings wasn't as thought. Located in the midst of the 'old city' narrow pebbled alleys. No great views from window if at all any. No garden/courtyard to walk in. Having breakfast on roof was quite nice although the breakfast itself wasn't 5star. Friendly environment, good friendly communication with receptionists and quite helpful. Very close to topcapi palace, blue mosque and hagia Sophia. Rooms were quite small but clean. Car couldn't come upto the hotel entrance so had to pull and drag all luggage on the pebbled alleys from a street up. Not suitable for those with lots of luggage which we had as we were coming from our main holiday elsewhere and just stopping here for a couple of days.

Awesome hotel, even better staff

Great hotel, will be going back to Hotel Evsen when i venture to Istanbulk again. Cant say enough for the staff, very helpful whether it was recommending places to visit, resturants to eat at, booking different activities and even finding and organising the return of some photos we left on a transfer shuttle!! Room was great. always cleaned. Was very spacious and comfortable to be in. Loved it alot.

The Rooms are clean and systematic with all that you may require, however the Size of the rooms is very small and so is the public area of the Hotel, however the staff is good and helpful, almost all the good sights are close in walking distance, the Breakfast was ample to kick start your day and overall the stay was a value for the Money spent.

The hotel location is a 5 minutes walk to the most historical places in istanbul.
The hotel hospitality and the crew were very nice. The hotel and the room were clean but i was disappointed about the room size and its position. it was an inside room, very narrow and without any window.

I've enjoyed my short stay in Evsen hotel. The location of the hotel is very convenient, 10 mins walk from the interesting sights of the city, 3 mins walk up from tram line. Staff was very friendly, helpful. Liked the welcome drink. The room is tiny but good enough for one person, especially if ur goal is to see Istanbul and not to get stuck in hotel for the whole vacation. I'm totally satisfied and recommend Evsen to those who doesn't want to pay a lot and still enjoy the Turkish hospitality!

IMPERFECT and CHARMING

This was not an easy hotel to find or get to. Once you're checked in, you'll be rewarded with a convenient base in a charming neighborhood. Your taxi driver may not know exactly where it is or be able to drop you at the front door since the hotel is along a cobble-stoned pedestrian street. We were fortunate to have a room with a french balcony overlooking the narrow street, which is full of dining activity at night. If you're OK with a compact room and an even more compact in-room toilet, then this is for you. The staff of 4 is superb. If we ever find ourselves in Istanbul again (we're from Hawaii), we would stay at the Evsen again.

The stay at the hotel was okay. Its not the kind of place you want to spend part of your holiday in. By that I mean there is nothing in the hotel itself. Its good to come back to after a long day of sight seeing. The included breakfast is great because its included and its actually good food. The staff are friendly and try their best to help. The biggest complaint is the size of the rooms. The best part of the hotel is the location. If the price is right go for it but don't expect the hilton in New york. P.s. They have a shuttle service for 6 euro

The room was small, but perfect for our needs. We were very happy. Very clean, excellent power shower, lovely balcony, air conditioning, tv, fridge. The breakfast was good - bread, jam, cereal, cheese, cold meats, tea, coffee and there was always plenty. Staff were all very friendly and most of them spoke a good amount of english. On a little street with no traffic noise so that was great. Although there are some restaurants on the street with people sitting outside so could get a bit noisy sometimes. Excellent location, within easy walking distance to most of the sites, and if not then two tram stops very close by. Really enjoyed our stay.

Decent hotel for the price we paid. We had a particular budget and the hotel was just the right price. The hotel is doing renovations to make your stay better, unfortunately the noise level was high. But in Istanbul you are not in your hotel for very long (sleep, shower, etc.). We had a new room on the 5th floor, twin beds with a shower. I will note that there was not a box of tissue in the bathroom, shower cap, shower gel or lotion in case you forgot yours. Room was very clean, hotel was very clean, front desk staff very helpful. Gave us directions, booked a tour of the black sea and the asian side, info on double decker tour. I would return.

Great location, just two blocks off the train line. Excellent staff--very helpful and knowledgeable. Very small room (with no window--it's like a blackout room when the lights are out), but impeccably clean and adjoining bathroom. A great base of operations while visiting Istanbul and we would stay here again.

Quick stay to soak up Istanbul

Simple, useful rooms that are a bit small and lack some natural light (unless you are at the front of hotel). Excellent location and decent breakfast. Good for a traveller that expects to spend most of their time outside the room and in the city. Staff were very helpful and kind. Don't expect luxury and you'll be fine.

Good hotel for the price, but not quite our speed

The location of this hotel is excellent. Many of the major sights are within close walking distance and there are lots of restaurants and shops in the area. The staff were also very friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was good.

Now for the down side: My advice would be to not book an interior room. These rooms are very small with no outside windows (the only \"window\" in the room faces to a chimney), so we felt very claustrophobic. After my boyfriend took a shower the room was like a sauna. Also the walls are VERY thin and since construction was going on during our stay the room was very noisy. We ended up switching hotels after our first night because we just couldn't relax here.

Overall this hotel is a good value for the price if you are trying to do Turkey on a budget. However if you are planning on spending more than an absolute minimum amount of time in your room or care about ventilation and quiet, I would recommend either booking one of their rooms with a balcony (I believe they have 6 or something like that) or choosing a different hotel.

Great hotel for sightseeing

The great plus of the hotel is the location. You are too close to all sights. Great stuff polite & with good knowledge of english and russian language. The room is too small and walls too thin so everybody can listen the next door room.The shower was without curtain so after a shower there was a lake to the bath. I would recommend it to anyone that does not want to spend much time on the hotel.
Every day were changing sheets and towers even if you were leaving the room in afternoon

If you like comfort, stay away from Evsen

The pictures of the hotel are better than the hotel itself. I booked a double bed for almost 2 weeks and I wasn't looking for a 5* experience. However, I was expecting a quiet and comfortable stay considering what I was paying. Unfortunately, I got neither. The walls are so thin that every night I heard all sorts, from a newly wed couple to some rude guests who didn't seem to care about anyone else in the hotel. The staff seemed powerless to do anything to stop them and I was told \"we don't want to lose any customers\". I was left wondering, \"what about me as a customer?\". Finally, I had a friend come visit me in my room in the morning for a few hours and then I was rudely told that my room was a booking for a single person only. Unbelievable, as my friend only visited and left after a few hours.

Don't waste your time at Evsen, but if you find yourself there then be sure to speak to a guy called Murat who works the desk on the nightshift; he's the only decent guy in the hotel

Cozy and Comfortable

I stayed in a double. The room was not large compared to other hotels I've been in but it was immaculately clean and in great condition. It serves it purpose and it's in a great location. Easily reachable by tram. The staff was able to arrange a shuttle service to pick me up and drop me off at the airport so that was a plus. I would consider going back if I ever were to go back to Istanbul

Excellent hotel

A wonderful quietly situated hotel on a small picturesque pedestrianised street, the sounds of the traffic and trams on the next street are barely noticeable during the day, and not at all during the night. The staff are very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The rooms are smart & comfortable and well equipped with WiFi and TV, hairdryer, vanity mirrors etc.
The neighbourhood has lots of good restaurants nearby serving traditional Turkish food, run by friendly multi-lingual staff.
An ideal choice of hotel and area for a taste of Historic Istanbul, all the major sights being within walking distance, as are the ferries, trams & buses to other areas of the city.
My first and only choice for future holidays.

Fantastic front of house staff!

After a long tiring journey we were welcomed to Hotel Evsen by a refreshing cherry juice and and greeted man on the front desk who was extremely helpful, efficient and humourous. He was full of brilliant advice and we felt as if no problem we had was too big and no question too stupid. The room was small, clean and totally adequate. The breakfast was fresh with much variety including traditional turkish treats, but the service was what really made our stay in vibrant Istanbul.

Great Find

The Evsen is surrounded by other hotels on this pedestrian only street in the Sultanhamet area. The Beds are Soooooo comfortable! The room are small but everything else about the hotel is great. Everything works and is clean. The staff are very helpful. Atta, the night clerk, found out it was my birthday and an hour later a knock on the door produces a tray of fruit and a bottle of wine!!
We would definitely return to the EVSEN.
You can walk to everything and the Tram is three minutes away.

Evsen - Close to all the must see sights

Evsen was definitely a 3-star hotel for Europe. Room was small, hard to find enough room to open suitcase unless was on the bed. Breakfast was okay, but boring after the first few mornings. Price was comparable to other hotels in the area. Best thing was being so close to everything you wanted to see and I mean easy walking distance.

Great bang for your buck!

We thought that Evsen was a steal. Great service, great location, great breakfast included, and great price! The trade off is that the rooms are small, but that didn't bother us-- and there's going to have be some tradeoff when you get such a good price. We had a great stay there for 5 nights.

Good hotel, good location

Rooms were small but adequate, clean and comfy. Luckily neither of us brought massive suitcases, but if we had, there wasn't much space to put them. The area was ideal - just off the main street, but quiet enough not be disturbed by traffic/nightlight and was convieniently close to the tram station. The staff were efficient and friendly, and were there to welcome us when we arrived, despite our late flight. The buffet breakfast was great, and to sum up, we would go again.

Outstanding location close to everything!

Walking distance to major sights, major port and tram stop. The surrounding neighborhood was very nice: it's on a pedestrian street with cafes and restaurants, very bohemian. Breakfast was OK and Wifi worked just fine. The room was really small not to mention the bathroom (shower was about 20\" wide), but other than that is a great value for tourists.
