It was my birthday trip and it was absolutely amazing. They were hospitable I could ask a lot of questions they were always so pleasant when I walked in when I walked out. It was a really enjoyable experience and I cannot wait to come back with my family.

We had only 1 night’s stay during an Istanbul layover but really enjoyed the time there. Staff is friendly and helpful. Location is a short walk to the Hagia Sofia and the Blue Mosque. For the short time in Istanbul, it was ideal. Hope to return in the future.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The check-in process was smooth and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout my visit. The room was spotless, spacious, and very comfortable, especially the bed.

I also appreciated the quiet atmosphere at night, which made it easy to relax.
I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

We had a fabulous stay at the Hotel Sultania. Our room was spacious and immaculate, with a fruit basket and some turkish sweets waiting for us as a warm welcome.

The front desk was accommodating and helpful, even to the point of ordering breakfast boxes sent to our room at 3am so we could eat before we caught our flight home. Every interaction was friendly.

I have celiac disease and was so impressed with the kitchen's care in making sure I had plenty to eat at breakfast. They even brought an extra plate of gluten-free treats to my table. I never felt unsafe eating there and was not \"glutenized\".

I would definitely stay there again and would recommend it to everyone.

We had a wonderful stay at the Sultania. The hotel was a bit less luxury than we thought from the website, but the room was lovely and spotlessly clean. The location is perfect if, like us, you want to be able to visit and revisit the old city and its monuments. What makes the Sultania stand out is the staff - they could not have been more helpful, from making bookings and answering questions to seeming genuinely pleased to see us as we came and went. I hope to be back very soon!

We stayed at Hotel Sultania for 6 days during our visit to Istanbul, and overall, it was a very good experience. The staff truly stood out — everyone we encountered was extremely polite, helpful, and courteous. From the front desk to housekeeping and the breakfast team, they went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and comfortable.

The location is excellent, putting us close to many of the city’s main attractions, which made exploring Istanbul very convenient.

The stay itself was pleasant, but it’s worth noting that the hotel is on the older side and could benefit from some renovation. Some of the devices and amenities felt a bit outdated, and updating these would definitely enhance the overall guest experience.

Despite this, the warm hospitality and attentive service made our stay memorable. We would recommend Hotel Sultania to anyone looking for a friendly and central place to stay in Istanbul — just keep in mind that it might not have the most modern facilities.

The location is great for walking to most sites and the tram is really close for the outer sites. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The deluxe room was very spacious. We were in a front facing room and the soundproofing worked very well. The breakfast had a large variety as well as cooked to order items.
The only downside was the mattress and pillows. The pillows were a bit hard and the mattress was a bit too soft. We were a bit restless because of it

The property is in very convenient location. Walking distance to all historic places. The front staffs are friendly and welcoming. The lobby restaurant and rooftop restaurant, both are excellent. Breakfast at rooftop restaurant is very convenient and with lots of food options.

It’s pedestrian with brick paver in-front of the main entrance. Not very convenient for heavy luggages and suitcases. The room is ok for just couple, but bit congested for 3 of us.

Short stay in Istanbul at the Hotel Sultania

The hotel is a small, boutique style hotel with an excellent hotel staff. It is on a pedestrian walkway with shops and restaurants, so you'll need to bring your luggage down a small distance from the next street... but it was easy to and quick. The hotel is walking distance to the Hagia Sophia and Blue Mosques, and the Basilica Cistern. The Grand Bazaar is also relatively close by. The hotel offers tea time in their restaurant every day and was a nice touch.

Both nights I was woken up by a truck and its drivers offloading food into the hotel. Couldnt get back to sleep. Ruined my time in Istanbul. A bit of an appologie and a box of Turkish delight didn't make up for the fact that my time here was ruined by tiredness.

We booked this hotel based on the other recommendations.

Unfortunately, it wasn’t the best experience starting with our airport transfer from the hotel not showing up at 5am.

Everyone was friendly but breakfast is a bit chaotic with one supervisor walking around drinking coffee as other servers running about, seemingly in an aimless way.

The room was lovely and clean but pretty noisy due to the location.

Overall we were just a bit underwhelmed.

Sultan treatment at Sultania

Thanks to the front desk staff at the hotel - Arafat and Crew. They also make sure that we are well taken care of in our favourite themed room. Rooms are spotlessly clean. Their breakfast is now also served on the 6th - beautiful views over the city. Tried their oat porridge this time round… hooked… takes me back to childhood days. Their insights and guidance to sights/events within the city, invaluable.

The property's location is excellent for anyone who is visiting Istanbul. Most attractions are walk-able, and so cheap, and efficient public transit options. Combine that with the extremely friendly staff, and great amenities it truly is a great location to stay when visiting Istanbul.

This is a very nice property. I chose it because it appeared to be walking distance to the most significant historic sites. It did not disappoint. The area immediately around the hotel is mostly restaurants and other hotels.
My room did not have a view and I believe none of the rooms really have a view except toward adjacent buildings and the array of AC units etc that are plentiful. There is a nice view from the 6th floor restaurant.The room is a nice size, the bed was comfortable and bedding was very nice. The toilet and shower are actually not in a separate room. they are in the bedroom but with a glass enclosure that has a digital print scene on the glass so that it is opaque. Rather ingenious. The sink was outside and next to this glass enclosure. It is a single marble sink. The closet space is good and there is a nice large desk surface and a built in seating are under the window. The staff was very nice and very helpful. Breakfast was good. Not great but certainly had a wide assortment of options as well as al a carte items that could be ordered. I particularly liked the fruit options and am not a big breakfast person but it seemed to satisfy those in the dining room. There is cheese, eggs, pastries, yogurt and toppings and more. I would recommend this hotel as a level 4 for the area. The price is much more than hotels by Galata Tower but I preferred to be near the historic sites.

The pictures shown does not match the reality. In reality, the room we stayed (we stayed in a premium room) was very dated with floor scratched and wall paper falling apart. They did provide daily room service to make the bed, clean the bathroom, but they didn’t vacuum bc we found hair and dirt on the floor. However, the hotel is in a great location, minutes walk to everything , yet very quiet. No cars are allowed on this street, so be prepared to walk a little bit with your luggage . This is not an issue for us at all, but if a family with children and elderly might find it challenging. There are many other hotels right on this street to consider. We won’t return to Istanbul period. This city is chaotic, dirty, crowded, and loud. And every where you go people is trying to get you to buy something or eat at their restaurants. Absolutely annoying and rude.

Wonderful would be an understatement. The staff at this hotel go above and beyond to make your stay enjoyable. The man at the front desk in the evening helped us tremendously with booking a taxi for our return, recommending nearby sights and helping us navigate our way in Istanbul. Additionally, the man working at the bar during tea time also provided exceptional service. Those working at the Olive restaurant were also exceptional, the dinner there was phenomenal. We regret leaving the restaurant to our last night. Had we gone earlier, we would have had a few additional dinners there. Delicious food, amazing service. Lastly, the morning breakfast is plentiful. The staff always greeted us with a smile and were willing to go out of their way to provide whatever we needed. This hotel and restaurant are highly recommended. Ps. Stay away from the restaurant across the hotel, awful food. When booking taxi’s, ask the hotel to help (it will avoid unnecessary charges and detours). We look forward to returning!

A beautiful boutique hotel close to everything!

This was the perfect boutique hotel in the Old Town. 10-15 minute walk to everything you need as a tourist. Close to Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque, Grand Bazar, Spice Bazar, the waterfront. Surrounded by restaurants and bars! The hotel staff were friendly, rooms were a nice size, clean. The only small thing was the elevator. Besides that this was perfect.

Perfect location, close to everything!

I stayed at Hotel Sultania for 4 nights and thoroughly enjoyed my stay! First off, the location is soooo convenient. It is in the Hoca Pasa area, and the tram to get around to whatever you need to see, is only 5 min down the street! I would easily get to Sultanamet, Eminuou and Karikoy areas. The rooms are nicely appointed, beds are super comfy, showers great, and the small touches of a treat on the bed, bottled water every day, really made it special. My only wee issue was that my room was on the first level, and near street level, so there were some noise, and felt I always had to have the curtains closed. Otherwise, great stay!

Irecently stayed at Hotel Sultania in the Sultanahmet district of Istanbul, and it was a fantastic experience. The location is perfect, just a 10-minute walk to the Hagia Sophia and Blue Mosque. The bed and pillows were incredibly comfortable, and the rooms had unique decorations with different themes, adding a special touch to the stay.

The breakfast was amazing, offering a wide variety of options, and the free afternoon tea and snacks were a delightful bonus. The hotel also features a relaxing pool and jacuzzi, perfect for unwinding after a day of sightseeing. I opted for the honeymoon package as a surprise for my new fiancée, which was great and made our stay extra special. We arrived earlier than the hotel expected, but they managed to set the room up quickly without my fiancée knowing. Additionally, the meal included with the honeymoon package at the hotel's restaurant, Olive, was amazing and delicious.

The staff were exceptional, especially Bugra and Hasan, who were friendly, helpful, and provided excellent recommendations for things to do and places to eat. The only downside was the young lady with black hair at the spa reception, who was quite rude and dismissive, she needs to improve her hospitality and customer service skills. Despite this, the rest of the staff were amazing, making my stay thoroughly enjoyable. Highly recommended

Sultania is is in an excellent location in the Old City. Very walkable to nearly everything! Hospitality of the staff was amazing. The accommodations were clean and the bed very comfortable, with good pillows.
The hotel appears in need of some updating and maintenance. In the room, several fixtures were loose from the ceiling and bathroom fixtures were in need of updating. Everything could have used some paint.

The one issue we had was with the pickup from the aiport. They were not there as they had not reviewed our email of arrival time yet they still charged us $69 for the pickup. We got our own taxi at a rate of $35.

Hotel is in perfect location to walk to Blue Mosque, Hagia Sofia, Basilica Cistern and 5 minutes from Tram line. Very safe neighborhood and many people out walking around at night.
