The hotel is in an excellent location in Zamalek, close to many local restaurants, sights, and shops.

The staff is very friendly and eager to help, although better attention to detail is needed. If I asked for something through the front desk, I might have to call again and chase; room service one day forgot to leave any towels in the room. These are very minor, but noticeable things (yes, after a shower you'll feel it if you're missing towels!).

The onsite restaurant is great for a varied menu and breakfast, while there's also a French bakery at the ground floor serving lovely pastries.

The one big issue we had regarded the cleanliness of the floors, which was... not good. The floors in our room were laminate of some sort, and the bottoms of our feet were black after walking barefoot for a few minutes. I witnessed room service cleaning it using some sort detergent, but the grime was such that the cleaning product seems to just accumulate in dusty layers. Anyway, be ready to clean your feet often, and wear the slippers provided (yes, they do provide these!)

Aside from the floor cleanliness part, I was very happy with my stay and would consider returning again as it was a good price for thr location and overall quality.

Our stay at The President Hotel was lovely. We were only in Cairo for 2 nights but this was the perfect base. The hotel itself is really nicely decorated with everything you could need. The staff were super helpful and always there in case we needed anything, especially the reception team. Breakfast in the Terrace bar was really good and portions were also a really good size. A special shout out to Dahy who arranged our trip to the Pyramids, he sorted everything at really short notice and kept checking on us throughout the day to make sure we were ok. A lovely place to stay

We really enjoyed our stay at the president hotel. The staff were really friendly and we were thankful to be able to check in early after a long flight that arrived at 5am. This cost an additional $40 which we didn't think was unreasonable.

The overall experience was great. The neighbourhood was great and very walkable with some nice restaurants by the Nile in close proximity.

There was a bit of noise from the local school but nothing that kept us awake. The air conditioning in the room wasn't the greatest and the safe didn't have any batteries, so we couldn't use that. Staff did offer to help but we decided against it.

Overall I would recommend this hotel as a great place to stay in Zamalek.

I recommend staying at the President Hotel Cairo. The restaurant on the top floor, where breakfast and dinner are served, is very cozy and serves good food. The Zamalek neighborhood is safe, and shops are nearby. The hotel was better than a so-called 5-star hotel that I also stayed in during the same trip.

This hotel was located in Zamelek island area-touristic safer quieter location. It was clean, little outdated, good view from window, had spa and coffee shop on site. They let us leave luggage after checkout while we took a day toor. The area felt safer than downtown, not close to any sightseeing. You would need to take taxi to go everywhere.

Great hotel and a lot of stuff inside like restaurant, coffee shop, bar, dry cleaning, gym, and tour guides. But once you step outside you get the honking, high traffic, and car fumes. To be expected anywhere you go there. Good hotel but you can see everything worth it in 2 days (pyramids, sphinx, museum, local cuisine) so dont stay longer then you need to. I felt safe walking around and people outside local market vendors were really nice. Easy subway to use also.

Have been visiting Egypt for 12 years on business and been trying to find a hotel that reflects the price paid. I stayed here because Marriott is now charging $300 versus this at around $200. I think both are very overpriced. This hotel has some good elements… the breakfast was the best I’ve had in Egypt. There is a dedicated showers rather than a bath with a curtain.
But:
… The internet speed is consistently terrible. When there is any internet at all. There is no excuse for this since internet is a cheap fix.
… carpets need to be vacuumed
… the shower gels and shampoos look used, and cheap
… it is very noisy
… reception is on the ground floor, rooms are on 10/11/12. There is one small elevator (and a staff one). So wait times can be more than 5 minutes.
… most room fittings seem very cheap

The BEST hotel in Zamalek!!

AMAZING. I would give 10 stars if I could. They were very professional and kind and so helpful! The housekeepers were great. Rooms were beautiful and well kept, clean, and astonishing view from the balcony. Zamalek can be noisy but you don’t hear much sound in the rooms so it’s nice and quiet for the most part. Me and my husband LOVED it and we will be coming back! Thank you for making sure we had a nice experience!!

I stayed in this hotel on two separate nights. The first night was in a horribly noisy room and the second night was in an overly hot room in which the AC was not working. In both cases the staff make a show of doing something about the problem, but nothing gets done. The AC repairman came into the room, made a mess removing a panel, then disappeared after concluding that the problem was \"downstairs.\" I was not offered a different room or even an apology and the AC was still broken the next morning. The bellboy watched me carry my heavy suitcases by myself up several flights of stairs into the hotel then expected a tip for rolling them into the elevator and into my room, which I could have done by myself with less effort and delay. The front desk staff need to be trained to speak with guests more politely (yelling \"passport\" at me during checkin is very rude). Also, giving a person's room key to the bellboy instead of the guest who is checking in is highly inappropriate. I only selected this hotel for its location, but I don't think I'll book with them again.

By lack of attention to detail I’m referring to the room’s stained mirror, dripping air conditioner, window left open and difficult to close properly, and no cups to drink the complimentary tea and coffee from. However, the room was clean and the beds comfortable. The breakfast selection was pretty good. Sadly, the fool beans were runny and unappetising and there was no hummus. The coffee wasn’t very good. All in all, it’s ok but could be much better.

So the rooms were really nice in this newly renovated area of the hotel. The staff was great. Only two problems we had were:
1. We were on the 10th floor and the restaurant was on the 11th so you could hear a lot of chairs sliding and foot traffic noise. 2. The room door key did not work so it was an inconvenience to get someone with a master key to open the room every time. Other than that I would stay here again but on a different floor with a key that worked!!!

Overall, I really enjoyed my time at the President hotel. For me the fitness center was very important. The room, my bed were excellent to have a good rest. If I had the opportunity to come back to Cairo, I would stay at the President Hotel again. The cleaning in some spots could be much better but I know it is a general problem in all Egypt.

Problem of noise - \"Easy\" to improve

The first night was horrible, They build their hotel with cheap quality for their windows.
I got a lot of noise from the exterior and I was coming from a night flight, so I got 2 nights without well sleeping. Then they changed my room, windows were the same, but this side of the hotel was calmer.
They still use plastic package.

Except this point, I have to say that the service is really good, people are always smile and trying to help you.
The breakfast is good, and I liked the atmosphere of the hotel.
And the location is super if you want to stay in Zamalek.

So unfortunately, for me, the comfort is the main point, and if they change their windows, It could be a good stay.

Overall, I enjoyed my stay. Traffic can be overwhelming on average it took about 45 minutes to get to different attractions throughout the city. The hotel is in more a residential area, lots of locals. The hotel is in walking distance to a lot of restaurants and shops. It is connected to the New President hotel. Together they share 3 restaurants which is good. The breakfast option was okay. I thought they offered something for everyone to eat. The gym was clean and up to date. For the most part the staff was friendly. I thought the female staff were not that friendly. Considering they are in a hospitality industry; they should be inviting to all staff regardless of cultural backgrounds. My only suggestion would be to more trash cans in the rooms and the elevator could be quicker.

there was horrific mold in the bathrooms. Some rooms have less than others, but the place isn't clean. The stairs are filthy and the bathrooms are unsanitary. I left asap. In all fairness they gave me a full refund minus the first day. There was no one on staff to assure my full refund so I had to wait until the following day for the person to get in and even then, I had to be the one to follow through with multiple phone calls for someone to assist me. Expedia should have transferred me out of the hotel right away and guaranteed a refund, but they didn't.

Good hotel and comfortable. Breakfast was definitely a highlight of the morning. The location makes it difficult for cars to get in and out and there is a school across the street, so lots of noise in the morning. Also, the AC is from the 1970s. But service was great and they allowed late check out. Very accommodating.

Had a fire in hotel at 3:00am. No emergency lights in stairwell. Garbage on stair landings.
Days later still stunk of smoke in hotel. No discount for inconvenience and loosing a nights sleep, not even a complimentary cup of coffee. No information, during or after fire, given to guests.
No information available from hotel on tours or on anything in the area,no maps, no pamphlets,no help.

Room not done. There was dust everywhere. There was food in the sink. Shaven hair on the desk. Dirty bathtub, dirty shower mat, dirty towel. Room was too hot, exposed to the West side, even with curtains shut, I was sweating in the room as the air conditioning lowest temperature could be set only at 17 Degrees Celsius. Luckily the staff was nice, check-in was quick.

I booked and did not notice it said the money would be collected by the hotel, but ok. I took care of that and then the hotel told me that not all the rooms had wi-fi and whilst later I saw the main page said free wi-fi in public spaces, the booking pages of expedia say 'ALL ROOMS INCLUDE FREE BREAKFAST AND FREE WIRELESS INTERNET', which I showed the staff.

I said the room smelt of cigarettes and they said they'd send someone - they never did. Later, I bought water and drinks and noticed the fridge did not work as as you may know, in Egypt you should not drink the water, I called and they never sent anyone even though they said they would.

THIS HAVING BEEN SAID, PLEASE NOTE: I believe the hotel is fine for the price and I think the staff was sweet and nice and they definitely helped with keeping my bags today.

Appreciate times are tough in Egypt but problems with little hot water, which on previous visits has always been good,towels seriuously past their best and sheets starting to look very tired. Phone in room not working, TV no sound so unable to check news. Lights in room needing bulbs replacing. Standard has dropped but so convenient. Staff generally excellent and very helpful. Good location for access to Downtown and around. Peaceful area with good eating options locally.

Terrible -hotel lost my prepaid reservation

Terrible - upon arrival the hotel could not locate my prepaid reservation and would not admit me to their hotel despite my written confirmation with itinerary/reservation number. At first the inept clerk at the desk refused to even call a manger, give his name, name of manager. Then he called a manager, who was of no help. They then tried to offer me a room at a higher rate. After some argument they offered me a room at the \"expedia rate\" made me pay in cash. since it was late in the evening, I paid, but left upon check in when I saw the disasterous condition of the room and the dangeous elevator going to the 11th floor - a caping hole at the side and malfunctining on every hal floor (the other elevator bank was plain out of order). When I asked for a refund of my second, cash payment, they refused at first - asked me to deposit my passport ? - finally I got a refund for my second payment, but they are still holding my first credit card payment, which appears on my bank statement. meanwhile they badmouthed Expedia, statinig that the never receive payment from Expedia. I left and checked in to a good hotel.As an Elite Plus Expedia customer, this is a first – and hopefully last experience of this nature.

I have stayed in this hotel several times and found it to be consistantly good. Bearing in mind that it is a 3 star hotel the rooms are large and beds comfortable and clean. Give it a go for a safe adventure

Our ninth stay at the President and as always the staff are wonderful. Bedrooms need updating but are clean. Reception has been updated and along with bar has free wifi.

The temperamental lifts and need to redecorate are more than outweighed by the welcome. The hotel is in a very safe area, far removed from the troubles.

Do visit, the hotel needs you!

Great location, Okay hotel.

I have lived in Cairo for 2 month now, and I would recommend President Hotel for a few days in the city.

Hotel reflects the low price, but service is great. Great view of Cairo from the top of a building. Located in Zamalek which is one of the only 'safe' areas for tourists in Cairo.

Not a 4-5 star place, but it comes with simple breakfast and pretty much anything else you need.

Ask for room with balcony!

Comfortable, quiet and centrally-located

The President Hotel was an ideal affordable home base for exploring Cairo. My room was clean and comfortable, the staff and management were helpful and responsive. Most amenities not available in the hotel were within a few blocks--the Zamalek neighborhood is very accessible and friendly to a non-Arabic-speaking foreign visitor.

I would particularly recommend the driver I hired via the hotel, Khaled Abd Rabow, who was extremely punctual and dependable, speaks fluent English and Spanish, and is knowledgeable Egyptology and Egyptian history as well as expert in navigating the complex layout of the city.

Basic accomadation but staff very friendly

Area is close to downtown but zamalek is a very diverse culture of. Restaurants and pubs

For what u pay it is worth the prce

Would recommend the Hotel. Good value for money.

Staff very friendly, good service, clean.
Breakfast OK but basic.
Need internet access in the room.
Nice location.
Quiet
