We stayed at Chapung Sebali in a two-bedroom villa, and the experience was absolutely wonderful. The villa was spacious, beautifully designed, and extremely comfortable — perfect for a family with children aged 5, 9, and 13. The layout gave us both privacy and togetherness, and everything felt very well thought out for a family stay.

The private pool was a real highlight — large, clean, and surrounded by lush greenery, creating a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. Our children loved it, and we enjoyed spending quality time there together.

Breakfast and food overall were excellent — fresh, tasty, and well presented, with a great variety to suit both adults and kids. Every meal we had was delicious.

The service was outstanding. The staff were warm, attentive, and genuinely caring, always ready to help with a smile and making us feel very welcome throughout our stay.

Chapung Sebali is a perfect choice for families looking for luxury, comfort, nature, and exceptional service. We truly enjoyed our time there and would happily return.

5 star hotel price with a 2 star mattress and we did not sleep well for the whole stay. Devils in the details, with small things like towel, bed sheets that are yellow to sink that looks dirty. Quite overprice and would not visit again. Staff and food were good though.

Great choice in Ubud for awesome interior and food

I really like the interior and all the furniture around the hotel. And staffs are all friendly and kind. Food is also creative and delicious. I think it's a great choice in Ubud.
But I want them to improve in some area. Google map shows 2 different hotel locations that are not the real location. I had to spend an extra hour and money to get to the hotel. Maybe it's not their fault but usually good hotels take care of how their information is shown on other important website. And me and my wife were clearly told that floating breakfast would be a separate paid because my room includes breakfast. So we planned 1 early breakfast and 1 late breakfast for floating breakfast. Actually it was not. We woke up early and went to restaurant. We were told that we can't have 2 breakfast in a day. It wasn't a good feeling that we didn't have to plan a strange breakfast schedule. Some late delivery such as ice can be accepted as I'm an easy person. I still recommend this hotel provides great experiences and inspiring.

This is one of the few properties where you can actually get everything you need: shopping, amazing food, spas, great service, and an epic pool area.

When people are looking to have a great poolside experience, they come to Chapung Sebali whether you're a guest or not.

All the public areas are beautiful as is the Location, the gardens, Spa area and the pool are beautiful the Villas are a tad quirky. The staff are exceedingly helpful.
There are lots and lots of steps because of its mountainside location. It also offers a day pass for the pool which is a great way to spend a day before your flight home.

We stayed at this hotel for our honeymoon and surprised to find the room had been “upgraded” to one with a pool despite that we were initially looking to stay in a room with just a balcony. This made us very happy and added to our experience. The staff were some of the froendliest people that we came across theoughout our 10-day stay in Bali. The breakfast was awesome and a variety to choose from. On entering our room we found a beautiful swan-love towel structure that wowed us. The large pool area was nicely overlooking the forest. The hotel was clean and all the staff were always smiling and being helpful. The only thing that we were upset about was the special food service at the Jungle Fish Restaurant which is part of this hotel as we ended paying around rp1,500,000 which we later compared with other places that we visited and realised how expensive it was. Besides from this we had a great experience and Joe, the guy that looked after us was very helpful. I would definitely recommend visiting and would probably visit again if I go to Bali.

Very special stay at Chapung Sebali

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Chapung Sebali. The staff went out of their way to give us a very personal stay by addressing us by our names, giving us a personalized tour of the resort and activities at the resort before check in.

Room service was done twice a day so rooms were clean and fruit bowl and water was replenished at all times.

We took particular appreciation in the finer details of the resort - from the choice of furniture to the views from the room - everything was very tastefully done

Gorgeous hotel with perfect settings!

The hotel ground and setting was so serene & peaceful & green - exactly what we were looking for! the rooms were so clean & very well appointed, and the mezzanine floor was great for the kids! facilities were fantastic and the service was exemplary of Balinese hospitality. Very small comments - the in-room toilet has no door nor screen - not so pleasant when there are 4 of us sharing the room, so we ended up using the outside common bathrooms sometimes. Also our mezzanine had no separate AC (unlike what we saw in our adjacent units), so the kids were sleeping in an attic space where all the hot air gathered and did not have the most restful sleep. There is also no window dressing at the mezzanine so kids were woken early by rising sun. Still, we would not hesitate to return, but next time we will make sure to get the correct room that has AC at the mezzanine! Food quality was 7/10 (pancakes were doughy), but we were so blown away by the beauty of the premises that we ignored the small inconveniences.

Wow. What a place!

WOW. What a resort. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel so welcome. The resort is idyllic, the pool is just stunning and there is something magical about swimming in an infinity pool in the middle of the jungle at night! We were also offered a guided free walk down the ridge walk into Ubud - with collection at the other end. Highly recommend if they are running this (season specific). The food is also first class, we had breakfast, lunch and dinner at the resort. One of the best hotels I have ever stayed in

This is an amazing resort located just a 15-minute drive from key Ubud sights like the Tegallalang rice terraces. It's beautiful, the service is great and the food is just delicious. The pool becomes a go-to hangout for other travelers, which is fun!, but take the hotel staff up on their offer to book hotel beds. Definitely would stay here again.

It is a very quiet hotel, there's nothing to do in the evenings unless you get the hotel shuttle into Ubud. The breakfast is limited, you can only choose one option from the menu, the formal dining restaurant is overpriced in comparison to restaurants in Ubud town. This hotel really only suits for a very quiet holiday and it's remote location requires a taxi drive everywhere. The staff are friendly but due to their limited English they regularly misunderstand orders.

I can’t explain how beautiful it was !!!!

We arrived to Bali for the first time. The hotel arranged taxi to pick us up from the place we were staying near the airport. The driver Wayang got us some water and cold towels before we got in the car. From the start we knew , the first impressions were really nice and welcoming. This driver then took us for a whole day out next day to explore Ubud. Such a lovely man and a good driver!

When We arrived to the resort We genuinely felt welcome. The staff were extremely helpful and informative. God knows why but our room got upgraded to the room with a private pool and afternoon tea/ snacks as well as breakfast! which was a lovely shock! We met the chef on our last day , and thanked him because the food was exceptional! Safe to say best i ever tasted!

The room.. i’ll never ever forget this room! (15) such an amazing place to wake up to and just BE..no faults whatsoever. Also my boyfriend proposed to me in there! So it will be super special for us!!

Jungle Fish restaurant. Staff were so nice and caring , food, drinks, views were lovely!!. I can not explain in words - must go and experience the whole resort!

We 110% will be coming back next year and bringing our family to stay!

I honestly have nothing wrong to say about the place!

Look no further!

Chapung Sebali is probably one of the best resorts I’ve ever stayed in. Located in Ubud, the resort is about 15 minutes away from the central. If you don’t want the busy street and loud noise, then this place is yours. All you’re going to hear are the birds chirping and roosters crowing (in the morning). I say Chapung Sebali is best for relaxation and meditation.
Breakfast is serve everyday at 7:30 at the pool. Lucky for us, our reservation includes free breakfast so that helped. But no sweat, you’re in Bali, so everything is affordable.
Chapung has the most beautiful panoramic pool you could ever dream of. Who doesn’t want that jungle view right ? They have it open to the public, so don’t be surprised if you go in for a swim in the afternoon and the place is packed. Also if you’re looking for a good photo-opt for instagram, then this place is yours! Lol
Chapung Sebali staffs are very friendly, or maybe that’s just the trait of the Balinese people. You won’t see nothing but a smile on their face and greets you always if you’re passing by.

Overall, if i go back to Bali, I’d definitely would like to stay here again in a heartbeat.

There is a small gym with weights and rowing machines overlooking the valley. Food was very tasty. A resort that integrates with the environment, very well thought out. The room was outstanding with the most beautiful bathroom i have ever seen.
The spa area was also very well designed and I had a relaxing massage after a long flight.
The breakfast was very good but the food at the restaurant was just ok.

A truly unique experience

We had an amazing stay at Chapung Se Bali. I truly enjoyed both the room, the food and the area. It’s located in such a beautiful spot in the ubud djungle, and the attention to detail in the interior design is flawless! Unfortunately the speakeasy bar was closed for renovation when we were there. But I would definitely want to go back to Bali just to experience the hotel and the nature around it again!

Just two things for the hotel to consider:
The jungle fish pool area should really be made a non smoking area, at least parts of it!
There were quite a lot of ants by the pool in our room, I understand if the hotel doesn’t want to use chemicals that would disturb the balance of the nature - but maybe there are some natural alternatives for reducing the amount of ants? :)

A great place to stay on the outskirts of Ubud.

Third time at Chapung. Villas are spacious with great design. Pool in villa is heavenly, very hot whilst we were in Bali and the villa pool was the only pool we found over the 3 week stay that was actually refreshing. Due to the heat and the fact that there is a lot of glass in the villa construction, aircon struggled a bit to cool the room, not really a problem but no sheet just a doona on the bed so meant had to sleep on top of the doona.
About 10 mins drive out of Ubud with a very good free shuttle service available into town for drop offs and pick ups.
Huge new resort pool and pool club has both pluses and minuses. Pluses are it's beautiful and great to lay by with a cocktail. Minuses are it's attracting a large crowd of budget tourists,(who pay a small amount to enter) some who arrive early in the morning to scatter bags over all of the best spots and then depart for a few hours expecting to return to resume there positions. When you're paying $300 plus a night to stay in the resort you shouldn't have to scramble for a spot by the pool. Also in this serene idyllic spot, really bad, extremely loud electronic music is played all day long. Often the same CD seemed to be on repeat. It was so loud it was drowning out my own ipod. I overheard both young and older people complaining about it.

Luxury Redefined

Pure heaven. A lot of resorts in Ubud claim to be luxury and all for the guest, but are actually tourist traps where they over charge you at every opportunity. This is not the case with Chapung SeBali - the resort is pure luxury, private room overlooking rice fields, private pool and incredible facilities (spa, infinity pool over the mountain side, restaurants and shuttle servce to Ubud) and all of the extras you may want to indulge in are reasonably priced, excellent service and excellent quality - a rare hotel in a very tourist area where you are treated like a guest and not as a walking credit card. Would infinitely recommend again.

The Chapung Sebali resort was a terrific jumping off point to explore Ubud and a great Oasis when it was time to relax. We are a family of 6 and their family Villa housed us all luxuriously. It is a small resort and never feels crowded. Our entire family had a very reasonably priced massage. The beautiful pool is open to the public during the afternoon so it is lively with guests from resorts in town with lesser pools. You can also have privacy in your own villa pool. Don't miss the great 45 minute and scenic walk to Ubud along the path that leaves from just out front.

Great place to relax

We stayed as a group of three adults for a relaxing time. They kindly upgraded our room which was a lovely surprise. The villa was beautiful and luxurious with a very clean private plunge pool - actually so spacious that all three of us could swim in it! We used the Spa twice which was wonderful. The staff really tried hard to meet any requests and they seemed so cheerful. Breakfast was presented excellently with a good choice of fresh smoothies/juices and coffees/teas. They have an a la carte menu which is inclusive (free) and portions were generous and always fresh. Eggs Benedict was a favourite as were pancakes and crepes! Fresh fruit platter was delicious and couldn't ask for more! We could have sat there all morning, enjoying the view and fabulous surroundings. We didn't find the pool work noisy and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We would definitely stay again but not with young children because it is not really baby/toddler friendly (because water and lilly ponds are all around). It is a fantastic retreat to nature and tranquility! Location is good with free shuttle into Ubud, taking about 20-30 mins. We dined at the hotel one evening and ate in Ubud for the other 3 evenings and didn't find it inconvenient at all. We even walked. leisurely, to Ubud one day and really enjoyed the scenery and local galleries and cafes on the way.

A perfect small resort a short car ride from Ubud.
Great to be able to relax in such beautiful surroundings during the day and travel into Ubud for a meal at one of the great restaurants. Staff couldn't have been more helpful. Villa was spacious and totally comfortable.

Chapung - a quiet gateway resort at the Padi Field

Recommended to stay in Chapung villa with your loved one / family if you like to spend some quiet time away from the city / beach. It's right at the padi field. Service from the staffs are good / efficient.

Resort is about 15-20 mins drive from the central city, and shuttle is provided free by the resort!

Chapung is superb

4 nights here was sublime. I think the word is out now about this place, but go if you possibly can. The setting is incomparable, the staff are gracious. The accommodation is elegant and comfortable. The hard part is leaving. If it's available, & you can stretch to it, villa 2 is the owner's residence and is extraordinary.

Very large pool. Definitely not plunge size. Enough to swim laps in. Extremely comfortable villa with large living spaces, bathroom and dressing room. View of the pool and rice fields/foliage every morning was unforgettable. Could have stayed for 2 weeks...
Location is a little more remote, but still only about 10-15 mins to the noise and tourists in ubud. We enjoyed the quiet environs. Massages can be had in your villa for around 25000IDR. Food not great and items on 3rd page of breakfast menu are not free. Eat elsewhere, but make sure you plan time in your villa to relax. Furnishings all seem high end but showing signs of wear/bleaching e.g. Room shutters were difficult to operate at times as they seemed to have been abused.
