Worst Hotel ever! Stay at your house not Here!!!

Worst Hotel Ever! Hometowne Suites leave the lights off so the roaches can greet you. We stayed at this hotel due to storm delta. Rooms seem to be clean until roaches started comeing out, room was non smoking but heavy smoke smell in the room, rooms didn't have towels, and it was high traffic area for people off the street. The lights went out due to the storm and we had to fight the heat and the roaches. This was the worst ecperience ever!!!

DO NOT STAY! It was like staying in the projects! Roaches! Dirty restroom and shower. Room was not even cleaned, first night I opened the drawer and there was trash EVERYWHERE! No remote control! Broken cabinets in the kitchen. Stovetop dirty! They did not offer to clean the room everyday. They said the would do it on Wed never came! Neighbors were up all night loud music and sounds. You could hear a knock every 20-30 mins as if something was being sold next door! Ppl hanging out outside drinking beer and trash everywhere!ELEVATOR SMELLED LIKE PISS! NASTY NASTY PLACE! Do not stay here

Very disappointed, hotel was full of crack addicts prostitutes and roaches were all over the room and hallway hallways. I can’t believe that I am charged $145 for two nights for this type of environment.All rooms are supposed to be no smoking yet there were cigarette burns all over the bed and my clothing had to be washed because it smelled like smoke. I feel a refund is due to me please take this out of hotels.com.

One word: Ghetto. While checking in, a large cockroach strutted across the floor behind the receptionist. Drove around the complex to find my room and witnessed a male taking a leak on the building right up front... in broad daylight. I almost requested my money back at that point, but didn't want to hassle finding something else. I guess I'm a glutton for punishment.

As far as cleanliness, it doesn't exist here. I was provided with a refrigerator and it had a couple of drinks in it already... with the seals broken. Left over from some previous customer, I presume.

I'm also a smoker and I get up a couple of times each night to step outside and have a smoke. Every time I did, there were sketchy-looking characters wandering the parking lot. I will not be returning here anytime soon. Only one thing positive to say about this dump; the water did get hot quickly and there was decent water pressure.

First, the name of the hotel sounds like it would be a nice place to stay for one night right? Absolutely WRONG!!!! I am pissed to the max. From start to end I had hell! Ghettoism at its finest. The guy at the desk doesn’t have any customer service skills at all! Had his back turned to me the whole time! Didn’t know anything that was pertinent to my stay but had the audacity to warn me that I took the last room which has a leaking a/c and door doesn’t close easily. He forgot to remind me about the roaches though!!!!!!!!! I stayed up all night long killing roaches! They were all in the bed, all on the ceiling. Shower was disgusting! Looked like it had never been cleaned! Towels looked old and looked like they had never been washed with hair all through them. This place is

Roaches.... and our toilet clogged up for no reason. They couldn’t switch our rooms, and would not give us any kind of discount. The entire night we had to walk across the street to the Waffle House to use the rest room. They didn’t even have a plunger for us to use. The front desk lady (the white one... I think she’s the boss) IS SO RUDE!!!!!!

The property looked nice from the outside. My door looked like it had been previously kicked in. I had a non-smoking room but reeked of smoke. The smell stuck to my clothes that I slept in until I got home the following night and unpacked. My key suddenly stopped working and the lady working in the office had to reset it and was very nice about it. There was also strangers knocking on my door around 3-4 in the morning.

When we got there and went to the lobby to check in there was a lock on the door where you had to be buzzed in. Checked in, paid cash and got our room key. Left the lobby to go to our room. We walked in, opened the refrigerator to see live roaches run! Started looking around more and there were roaches dead and alive everywhere. No way We were staying in there. Called hotels.com and told them, was asked if I have evidence of the roaches..I Immediately started taking pictures and video of the bugs crawling everywhere. immediately started taking pictures and video of the bugs crawling everywhereHotels rep calls the front desk to see if I can just check out and get my money, manager won’t be in till 8am. I got turn my key in at the desk and leave. Hotels calls the next morning to tell me the manager is still not in. I called the hotel got the ast. Manager on the phone. She said to come up to the hotel. So I get there she says my refund will be back on my card in 3-5 days I said no ma’am I paid cash. So now she needs 30 minutes to figures out what to do. Long long story kinda short we got our money back! But don’t stay at this place, don’t book this place and hotels.com should remove this place from their site! The pictures you see here on travelocity are way better than what we experienced. To start off, we got our keys and went to go to our room and the door was locked from the inside, which we thought was weird. As I am going back to the desk, two people who weren’t even staying at the hotel just so happened to be enjoying a free time there. We had to wait 20 minutes in the lobby for our room to be prepped or we had to get a different room. We thought nothing of it and let the cleaning service do their thing. Once we got access, the bed was rickety, the sheets and comforter barely were small, the floor was sticky to where my shoes stuck to if, the furniture was broken, the bathroom looked disgusting and shower curtain was yellow stained. Oh yeah and the door wouldn’t latch properly unless you put the door lock up so anyone could have had access. Needless to say we grabbed our things and found another hotel. Prices were cheap but you literally pay for what you get. I wouldn’t recommended this to my worst enemy.

This was easily the worst place I've ever stayed at. Roach infestation there I couldn't even stay more than an hour. I should have noticed something was up when I smelled bleach in the room the second I walked in. It's either a murder just occurred or it bugs. I was hoping it was murder instead...

On the surface, nothing seemed too off, but that's because I had the lights on and when I went into the bathroom and flicked the lights on that's when I noticed they were all crawling around on the floor. It was disgusting. I proceeded to move all my bags to the car to prevent infestation of my belongings. I come back to the room and then find them crawling around near the bed and I left and found a Marriott hotel nearby.

This place should be lit on fire and burned to the ground.

The hotel puts up fake reviews to boost their score. Don't believe it.

This hotel redefines the term “Roach Motel.”
Upon check-in the room had roaches crawling on the walls, floors and beds. I went to the front desk and requested another room. I was told by the clerk that she or the manager would be there very shortly; neither showed up. We packed our bags and move to another hotel; not an easy thing to do and quite expensive given the lack of availability with the LSU game.
In summary, literally the worst hotel I’ve ever been in; and I’ve traveled the world.

I was expecting a little more out of the place. There were too many people just hanging outside the area. When I first arrived there was only one staff person assisting with check in and there were other clients needing assistance as well. The first room I was put in was a dead bug on the floor, the cover was off the air conditioning unit. I returned to the desk, the clerk put me in another room which was much better. On the next night I returned to my room only to be locked out, the key wasn’t working. I saw a large # of people outside waiting to be checked in. When I went to the desk, I had waited about 15 minutes already and then the clerk appeared from helping someone else while that long line was waiting. I only needed my key to be activated but I had to wait on the long line. Someone else came in, not sure if she was off duty or not but she started to help the clerk.

“Non smoking” room reeked of stagnant tobacco. Clientele looked down on their luck, young woman in next room was turning tricks half the night. Single pane windows let interstate noise in all night, as well as screaming and dogs barking in parking lot in middle of night.. Worst room I’ve had in 38 years. So, how do I get out of a situation like that with hotels.com? And I saw this was owned by Red Roof Inn. If so, they need to take some responsibility. There were stains on sheets and burn holes in bedspread. There were clean old towels, but no washcloths. On a good note, the refrigerator and microwave appeared new.

It has been awhile since my last visit, prior to renovations. New renovations and upgrades are very nice however, My 1st room had a broken refrigerator plug so it was not on, neither could I regulate the plug to make it fit into the socket. We received a new room though the Manager appeared over worked trying to do 5 different peoples job. Our new room had NO towels so I called and was told they would start washing some. Well, we never received those towels. One manager found an intruder and threatened to call police that evening. Disturbed during the early morning, it appears another manager found another intruder (or same)..RIGHT NEXT DOOR TO OUR ROOM. Prior to renovations, at least there was security patrolling the premises. I don't want to sound querulous but I prefer peaceful hotel stays with clean towels. Grateful for the rest I did get.

In my opinion housekeeping should clean the rooms even when they are occupied. Management should check behind employees. I swept and mopped and found and trash under the fridge and under the microwave was dirty. That might help with the roaches. Some people are nasty. Other than that it was quiet and comfortable. I'd stay again if the roaches move away. I think other reviews over exaggerated on the roaches. But they do have some.

Perhaps one should not expect much for $40, but there are standards.

Check-in involved initialing & signing a 2-page liability/penalties waiver (which should've been the first clue that this place experiences A LOT of damage).

The room was merely adequate. It smelled musty/moldy; we bought a bottle of Fabreze & used half of it before the room was OK to use. The room had no phone, so if you needed the front desk, you had to walk over. The bed had a bedspread replete with multiple cigarette burns (despite the waiver insisting on no smoking). The bedsheets had stains on them, which we could only hope had survived washing.

The toilet was not seated to the floor properly and thus rocked every time it was used. The flushing sound was amazingly LOUD, as was the ac. (Only good thing was, with all that noise in the room, we could not hear the big storm outside that night.)

A lot of sketchy people hung around outside our room & talked loudly past 10pm. We couldn't complain because that would involve getting dressed, walking thru the sketchy people, & then walking to to get to the front desk as there was no in-room phone.

Best thing about the place aside from the price was its location, which was 5-8 minutes from where we needed to be the next day.

Dont get me wrong, the rooms are 3 out of 5 , these are good if your saving your perdiem or if you need a cheap place to stay and save your money. Its not a hotel its a studio home, rooms get cleaned once a week and no breakfast. Thats why the price is just right. I liked it but just minor issues, some people are dirty and bring roaches, smoke in non smoking rooms. So if you stay believe me its cool just look at the room first and after any day if your not comfortable in your room for any of the things I stated just ask the front desk before 10 am and they will find you something better. Again this place stays full year round because of the price and all people stay here. FYI

We made it work because it was prepaid and booked through Expedia. My plan is to not Ever have to stay on facilities like that again. The first room that I was given reeked of cigarette smoke and roaches were crawling in the bathroom. I called the front desk and the nice young lady changed our room. The second room was better than the first but still very dirty (crud in the shower, on the doors and walls) and the roaches waited till the day of checkout to reveal themselves. Sigh*

I was put in an occupied room....

I wasnt even able to stay at this location. I got to the hotel right at 11pm for check in as I was coming straight from work. The person at the desk was running out the door to leave but did stop to help me. She checked me in and gave me keys but immediately left the premises. I went to my room and walked in only to find the room was already accommodated by another tenant. After being completely embarrassed and flabbergasted I apologized for the office's mistake and returned to try to sort everything out. There was no one there to accommodate me. Everyone had gone home. Even the 2 security guards there told me they had no contact information for anyone in case if an emergency so there was no one to help me. So even after paying for my room I was forced to try to find another room for the night. I ended up having to go somewhere and paid almost double just for a few hours. I am being reimbursed for the room but I have to 5-10 business days which is quite an inconvenience considering how much money i lost out on that night. It was very frustrating. this hotel is very unorganized and I would not recommend it to anyone.

Upon arrival to the hotel I was told the room may need to be cleaned. I said okay because I would be gone for a good while, and that she was putting us in room 107 and that was at 4:30. When I returned and finally went into the room there was disgustingly nasty. The key didn't work so security had to open the door and he discovered there was roach spray covering the floors with dead roaches everywhere. The lady who was at the front desk wasn't able to do much besides apologize and clean the floor and change the linen which I had to reclean with Clorox. Between the smell, unclean room and roaches it was unfit to dwell. So I and my ill husband checked out and had to seek other living arrangements. I want a full refund from the time of check in and all days unused. After speaking with the manager Melissa on Sunday 3/10/19 I was told she would ensure I'm refunded for my full reservation. I followed up with her on Monday and was told corporate approved my refund. At that point she took my email address and my last 4 of credit card and was to email me confirmation. I gave several follow up calls all week and each time was told either \"I'm going to check on it\" or \"I'm going to email you\". Then my last call on Thursday she said \"I'm too busy for this she's going to have to call me back later\". I arrived on Saturday 3/16/19 and was informed no refund was processed for me and that Melissa wouldn't be back until Monday. I have had it with the run around behind my money.

I have to give a horrible rating. I couldn’t check in because the hotel said my stay was from March 1-2, when my actual stay was supposed to be from March 3-4. My booking information had the correct information, not sure where they got their information, but me, my husband, and 2 year old had to go and find another room to stay for the night. We did find a room across but still when you get to a room you expect them to have your reservation, not to be told they have the incorrect reservation information and no rooms available.

My name is John and I was the one who stayed in the above room not Bill, who was in the Lady of the Lakes Hospital, and he paid for the room. We went on hotels.com from the hospital and picked this hotel because of a special. I arrived late about 9:00 pm and I was very tired, when I arrived at the room, my first complaint was there were no pillow cases on the two pillows. Then the person next door and several friends over for drinks and were having them on the balcony outside our rooms. They got louder and I finally got out of bed and went to the door and one of them asked me if they were too loud, I replied that they were and he said that they would be quieter, this quieter lasted for about five minutes and then back to loud. I decided to call the front desk, my room telephone had no dial tone, so I used my mobile, only to find out that the office was closed. I just had to bear the noise. This really should not be called a hotel, it is really like efficiency apartment complex for people who are down on their luck and can pay by the month. I did have an refrigerator and table with two side chairs and a two burner cook top, which I did not need or use and would have trade the refrigerator for a couple of pillow cases. I would not recommend this to any one.

They said my hotels.com that I paid was not valid. I had to pay again when I got there after traveling 300 miles. Now I have to dispute the charge. They are awful. They do not care about anyone.

It's not so much bad on weeknights but the type of people that come around on weekends would be more of opposite of a rocket scientist is the best way I can describe it without sounding bad and making my own self look bad , I've seen the police three times in the week I was there for certain younger people not acting right if you know what I mean

A clean room for a great price

Convenient, clean, & comfortable. I'll probably stay here when I come back to Baton Rouge.
This place appears to cater to the longer-term crowd, with a big frig and kitchenette, so you can't expect amenities like free ice or breakfast pastries. Only annoyance was slow wifi, but not so slow as to be a deal-breaker.

The room was nice, but when food was brought in, there were tons of roaches. Comfortable bed with plenty of warm covers, good heater, and nice hot water. One burner on the stove didn't work and the one that worked didn't get real hot. It was difficult making the dish I was taking to work for the Christmas Eve pot luck. There were no dishes so I had to buy plastic utensils and paper plates. If you just want a place to sleep, you can get a room cheaper at another facility. If you need a place for an extended stay with kitchen, rent something a little higher priced or make sure that they bring the room up to whatever standards you desire.

My family and I arrived on a Saturday after a day of moving. I didn't expect much from the hotel, just a clean, safe place to take a shower and lay my head for the next two week until my house was ready. when I walked in there was a roach crawling on the floor and two were on the wall, my husband killed them and told me they were probably from the room not being in use for some time and the wet weather wasn't making it any better. After taking a shower and getting ready for bed my 16 year old went to do the same and upon walking into the bathroom, there were so many roaches crawling on the shower, curtain, toilet, sink everywhere. I went to request a refund but no refunds are given so I was told someone would come to spray in the morning. My husband had to go get 7 foggers for the room which caused us to have to sleep in our cars over night. We could not afford to loose $654.00 and pay for another hotel. We managed to stay out of the hotel all day after that and only came at night to sleep. The foggers did work, but I had to clean up the room and sanitize it before we could use it. I would never stay at this hotel again unless I have no other choice which was the case this time. there was always prostitutes hanging around and a lot of drug activity.

Cheapest place in Baton Rouge, for a reason.

I've been here 1 day. I already want to leave. The cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired. There were stray hairs everywhere around the room. The sheets have cigarette burns in them. The towels were stained. The smoke detector was literally hanging by a bunch of wires. I also found a McDonalds bag with old hamburgers and God-knows what else inside the microwave. The floors feel sticky. It's just a generally icky place. When I brought it to the attention of the staff, they seem like they just don't care.
