We had such a relaxed and lovely stay at this charming cosy cottage. The bed and pillows were incredibly comfortable, and the whole place was peaceful and quiet. Short walk to the pier. We were in TimberLoo Cottage 5 (1 Queen Bed) SPA & Wood Stove.

Authentic forest accommodation in the middle of the Kalimna woods; spacious two-bedroom cottage with a jetted spa; adequate toilet and kitchen amenities but some utensils like cutleries need upgrading consistent with their high-technology keyless entry and in-room WiFi connectivity; I highly recommend this property for families with children!

These are nice cabins set on a bushy property. It is generally peaceful, but depending on your cabin location you can hear the main road traffic occasionally. But generally the cabins although aged are clean and comfortable. The surrounding area pleasant and relaxing and is an easy 5 minute walk to the kalimna pub. P.S. the firewood is $15 for a tub and a bucket of kindling not $15/ night. Unless you burn a lot of timber. I would recommend this place and not hesitate staying again.

What a fab little place. I am assuming that the owner booked us in and he was lovely. The cabin was very cute, plenty of space, comfortable beds. It was very cold in there because we visited in the winter however we paid a small fee for some firewood and got the log burner going. Was great value for money would love to go back when it was warmer.

We were looking forward to a night in next to a woodfire and disappointed to learn, yes we had one but then had to purchase the firewood separately. Why is it not part of the price? A few maintenance issues, lounge light not working, bathroom door unable to keep closed, very cold day/night and yet most windows had been left open. Bathroom & toilet windows unable to be closed. Newish split system excellent. Summer would be ok but winter not great.

We came to this property for one night on our way back to Melbourne with our 2 kids (5 and 1 year old), and we found it absolutely perfect for what we needed. We had 2 bedrooms and a spa room, and the kids loved the cottage and the property with all the birds and playground and so much to see. Such a great alternative to staying in a random motel room with kids. A bit out of town, which we loved, but also the Kalimna pub at the end of the street was perfect for a pub meal before tucking back into the cottage with the DVD player (a novelty for the kids!) and a spa. Management was also lovely and the cottage was super clean. Will definitely be back to stay if we do another road trip out that way!

The cottages were quaint, roomy. We cooked on the bbq, Jack was very friendly- brought us firewood for the firepit etc. chickens and goats running around- very cool if that’s what you’re into (we farm - so not something that thrilled us necessarily, but all good). Only complaint - needs a good scrubbing- doors, light switches, plug ins, shower etc. thankfully beds and towels were clean. Sorry, I seldom complain but really things need to be clean for me.

A lovely cabin in the woods. Very clean, everything we needed was there. The bed was very comfortable, the shower and bath were great. There's even clothes washing facilities.
Be sure to pack anti bug spray for yourself, if you go out at night the insects bite.

The place was dirty, hadn’t been dusted or wiped down in months/years tables and floors sticky, even the carpet. You wouldn’t have bare feet in the place.
Luckily we only stayed on night.
Access was easy, we had no contact with anyone place looked almost empty.

We loved feeding the possums and the beautiful, quiet bush setting of this lovely little cabin.
While the cabin itself is dated and could probably do with a freshen up, everything was clean and comfortable enough. Shower was great!
It rained during our stay, which made the driveway in and out of the property quite muddy & slippery, so just be cautious, especially at night.
The owner is very friendly and helpful and his cute little puppy was a hit with the kids!
We would be happy to stay again

What a little gem of a find.
Absolutely beautiful cottage right in the woods and yet a 5 min drive to town.
Jack is a wealth of knowledge and there is bird and possum feeding at certain times.
There are beautiful parrots, a goose, chickens and a free range rabbit.
Kids would love this place and there is a play area for the littlies.
We had a 2 bedroom room with a spa and the fireplace was a bonus. Great size and very clean. The beds were very comfortable and the shower was very strong .
There is also a fully stocked kitchen and washing machines and dryers.
I can’t say enough about this place except we will be back again

The place is hidden in the bush in Lakes Entrance.
With one little sign welcoming guests it becomes confusing to find where you need to go.
the premises is covered by over grown foliage and with blown lights within you cottage and notes stuck over light switches stating do not use this place becomes very unsafe.
cob webs all through the cottage and ants nests within the walls fly screen not sealing windows, and with no outside lighting when it is dark it is DARK.
Not to mention the gentleman welcoming us at the property collected our room keys from the drop box bowl on the counter because he could not find them.
This place needs a serious clean-up and inspection.
No one to great you upon check out as I would have asked for a refund.
lets say the time spent in the room was limited.
The road entering and exiting is not safe for a normal vehicle being a sedan or hatchback car. 4wd or higher vehicles welcome.

Sorry it’s an amazing spot in the forest but to be honest it feels like the place isn’t looked after well and is dire need of update and repair.

Tiny flying bugs and mozzies had been sprayed and left over bedding and in bathroom areas, cobwebs all over outdoor furniture, wifi was unreliable and didn’t really work, TV inlets are well overloaded with electrical plugs, dog barking through the night and day, definitely not worth the 1,100 paid for a 2 night stay. Also plugging in an indoor lamp on the outside porch is asking for an accident.

There’s a mouse in the house! Dirty!

This place needs a serious cleaning! Spider webs, very dirty screens in window, exhaust fan in shower looks like it’s never been cleaned!
My wife was sitting on the couch and a mouse came out of the space between the cushions. In the morning I found mouse droppings on the counter and the mouse had gotten into some of our food.
Very disappointing that hotels.com wood book places like this!

The place is great for someone who wants to stay somewhere a bit different. But it looks as though it is being run down. The road is in terrible condition, there is junk everywhere, none of the attractions advertised happened, the manager was almost impossible to get hold of, there was no tea or coffee, we had to ask for extra towels.

The owner is very enthusiastic about introducing fun places. There are quaint wooden houses in the countryside, a few free range chickens and a big white dog. You can feed the birds in the morning. It is an interesting experience for people who are used to living in the city.

Although the cottages are in a nice quite setting, they desperately need some maintenance as they are outdated and the spa had 2 cracked and dirty jets. The TV is a good size but the reception is abysmal, kjept dropping out every few minutes. The driveway is steep and dangerous. It is heavily washed out in places washed out, you really need a SUV or 4 wheel drive to get in and out of the property. the kitchen utensils were lacking, only 1 dinner plate and only 1 portable induction hotplate. When I asked for an additional plate it took over 24 hours for them to give me one. The cottage was clean except for the jets on the spa bath. Al in all I think for cost of the accomodation I would expect a higher quality.

Cosy cabins in a quiet area away from the main touristy bits (phew). The owner loves the wildlife and arranges evening feeding of the possums and morning feeding of the birds. It's a very 'back to nature' kind of place, which I think is great. The kitchen is a bit basic, but who needs fancy stuff when you're in such a nice area?

It’s cute cozy stay if you want remote away from the hustle bustle. So much potential but we found the roads in and out horrendous unless u have a 4x4; signage and pathways throughout the grounds was poor and very hard to find where to park, where reception is etc. No wifi which is vital these days. Communication with a reception was poor also. But the Cottage itself was cute.

This is a quite nice cottage located around the corner of the lakes entrance. My family have a wonderful 3 days holidays in here. Kalimna jatty walk just 5 mins walking distance. My kids enjoy the wood fire during cold winter night and the birds feeding on the morning.

We booked for two nights and were contacted by the owners about the time of arrival. We arrived exactly on time to find nobody in reception and a phone number to ring. They were offsite so told us there was a note with keys in reception. We were travelling with another couple who also booked a two bedroom for 2 nights. They were placed in Number 9 and we were placed in Number 3 (not very close). the biggest disappointment was that the kitchen in our room was very small with a table in front of the Fridge and only 3 chairs as well as an oven and two hot plates that sat on top of the bench. Also we went to BBQ to find a dirty BBQ and also no gas bottle, so used the one next door. Also we were supplied with a used washing up cloth, so with the COVID crisis I think that it should have been new. The whole place had only around 3 bookings so we could have had a better cottage. Our friends cottage was much larger and had a lot of different amenities.

Secluded cabins in a bush setting, each with their own bbq and outside fireplace. Our cabin had good kitchen items to make cooking easier. Comfy bed with really good pillows (I am a bit fussy with pillows). Staff were friendly. Lots of firewood provided. Our inside couch was one you'd want to spend much time on, but that was ok for us. Staying here was part of our lovely, romantic getaway.

nightly possum feeding and daily bird feeding was a treat.
quiet location, perfect for nature lovers.
friendly staff.
didn't like so much- its cold!, in fairness we did go at the start of winter and the weather was not forgiving.
there is a fire but it doesn't heat the cabin well so be sure to take slippers, warm socks and a throw rug or two if staying longer.

Little bit disappointed with our stay. We have stayed here before and found that it is now under new owners. It just didnt feel the same. There wasn't the same country style friendliness. The cabins obviously were not checked between guests as we had various items missing. There were items that would have been useful to keep with some of the requests of keeping the cabin tidy (like brooms or dustpans- our children found a dustpan outside so we used that). Overall it is a reasonable place to stay- it is clean and there is room. The fireplace was very much enjoyed this past weekend seeing it was raining and cold. It is close to Lakes Entrance (about 5min drive and 30min hilly walk). It is quiet and close to various walking paths. Surrounds are lovely bush surrounds with various wildlife.

This is a cabin in the woods type cottage. If you don’t mind being remote and rustic then this is the place for you. My husband loved it. Thought it was quiet and peaceful, I thought it was dark and creepy. So it is all based on your own opinion. It was overall clean and comfortable.

Cabin in the woods.

This place is in a remote forested area. My husband loved it and wanted an extra day so he could relax. I didn’t like it so much. It was not as clean as I would have liked and I don’t like spiders. The laundry facilities are basically a waste of time. There was no body on site to help except a hired wood chipper and a brand new cleaning man. Who new nothing about the place or the operation. Manager had gone away for the weekend. I checked myself in. The rooms are well equipped for what one would need and there are bbqs with each unit. Not sure if they work but others were using them. Over all it will give you a good night in a cabin in the woods.

Perfect location within walking distance to Kalimna Jetty for fishing and crabbing. Beautiful cottages on secluded property and minutes drive to Lakes Entrance main beach and restaurants. Very friendly and accommodating staff who welcomed us to feed the birds and possums and helped us with anything needed. Perfect place to stay for a couples or family trip to Lakes Entrance. Highly recommend

Peaceful, quiet, close to town.

Accomodation was clean, comfortable lovely cottage with cooking facilities, BBQ, close to amenities. There is a spa, wood fired heater, bed was very comfortable. Hosts made us feel very welcome. Shower was good. Really cannot fault it. Excellent! We will be returning next break!
