Extremely expensive for what the hotel is. I only go to Dortmund during a trade show. This is my second time i stay at this hotel but will also be the last.
Most of the staff do not speak english, they are not friendly, and they are extremely under staffed specially during the trade show that happens every year and the hotel gets full.
Bed is uncomfortable.
The Gardens are nice and calming and the breakfast is good.
But for 500 euros per day its a pure rip off..
Dinner gets full and you will wait 1h30m for a salad.

The hotel staff were all very welcoming and helpful. We liked the garden and grounds and the hotel decor. The drink and food were of excellent quality. We spent most of the time in the Spa and was well looked after by Emily who was most attentive, helpful, happy and delightful staff member. The massage was fabulous and relaxing. The L'Arivee is one of the few hotels we would happily book again.

What’s treat this hotel and spa turned out to be. Staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was exceptional. Dinners were the best we had in all of Germany! Le Petit Chef was so fun! The spa was excellent. The Finnish sauna was our favorite. Our son lives in Dortmund and this will be our go to hotel when we visit.

Fabulous hotel and during the COVID-19 crisis the hotel where prepared for the this in every way We visited with my 91 year old mother in law and we all felt safe.
This is our third stay and great Reception staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast staff polite and prompt with food delivery and service.
Restaurant Rustique serves superb food at reasonable prices in a fantastic area inside and outside. Staff that served us where friendly helpful and made a great end to the day. Plenty of choices to eat and for all diets

Not sure if hotel management/personnel read my last review but ever since service has improved substantially. The air conditioning in the room is a bit weak, but the local area has been experiencing extreme heat. Quiet, comfortable, nice wooded location (albeit a 20min drive to the city), and now that the staff has improved their level of service I can increase my review to 4-Stars.
If hotel owner/management wants 5-Stars they would need to invest in better toiletries, towels, and improve room service (an example of this is the room service menu is extremely sparse, yet you can order anything you want from the restaurant downstairs...I’m sure if management put a full room service menu in each room more guests would order more food...a plus for the guest and more profit for the owner with little added cost. Adding mini-bars to each room and pay movie options would also improve guest comfort and hotel profits. Overall the best hotel option in Dortmund.

Should be 5-Stars but improvements needed
The hotel itself is located in a beautiful area right next to a forest, and the rooms while not luxurious are very nice and comfortable. They rate this hotel as 4-stars but don’t expect 4-Star service. There’s no bellman, valet parking, and room service is more akin to food delivery rather than room service (my food came served on a plastic tray think University Cafeteria). The hotel staff is hit or miss and unfortunately the German hospitality mentality is very evident. No cheerful greeting when entering or leaving or walking past the front desk, employees usually sit behind a glass wall behind the front desk for some reason (tip to management, tear down this wall so the employees are forced to greet and engage with guests). Maid service is below average. Sheets were never changed even though there was a big food stain on them from my over indulgence of fine German chocolates. The bedside tables were not wiped down once over 3 weeks that I stayed here. If management would implement simple policies this could have been a 5-Star review (suggest appointing a supervisor to check rooms after they’ve been cleaned to ensure some sort of quality control). And the simplest thing, train your staff not to immediately answer every question with a stern “NO, it’s not possible”. I asked to extend my stay and the receptionists immediate reply was NOT POSSIBLE without even checking her computer. Then I was able to book online and extend my stay without issue from hotels own website???

It felt like pretty woman. We were underdressed. Staff was not very intuitive or outgoing. Ordered room service, it was overpriced and terrible (If you cant get a decent bratwurst while in Germany can you really trust anything else they offer, ordered a salad with chicken three times, arrived with steak. Menu said 8 euros for brat with frys, they delivered both orders of brats with no frys, called down waited an additional 30 minutes for frys, and they charged me for both orders of the frys and stated the menu price was wrong, and the fries were terrible in spite of everything.) Paid 70 euros, I expect room service to cost extra but I also expect it to be edible. Stayed at Schonburg Castle a few nights before, I think the manager of the Arivee would be well advised to spend a night to see how to improve his own properties customer service experience. Also we stayed on the second floor and it smelled like someone bombed the hallway carpet with bathroom odor spray. And it never dissipated. But who knows maybe in my opinion I am picky, but I would not recommend. We did not take advantage of the spa or pool, as we were there for a Pokémon Go event, and the hotel was such a bad experience we left a full day early.

Positives in the relaxed ambience of the location, a mix of business travelers and spa guests. Very nice quality and large breakfast. Clean and friendly staff. Sauna and pool are nice. Room for improvement is the spa services, which were sub-par in quality. Was completely disappointed in a service there and only refunded partially. In room no shower cap or robes and insufficient amenity kit, small things which could make a difference in level of service. Overall would stay again for the peaceful location and polite staff.

A piece of heaven in Dortmund
Use this hotel when we visit family in Dortmund and each time we visit we are never disappointed. Service by staff / friendly nothing is too much trouble. The hotel is a super - would recommend 1000% to anyone wanting to stay - do not hesitate book and by hotels.com is a better rate than directly with hotel. Rooms are spacious clean and air conditioned Balcony outside with chairs and table and fab views and peaceful - beds and pillows comfortable. We are regular travellers to all locations of the globe and this is a MUST stay for us and wound never consider anywhere else in Dortmund. Thank you to all the staff at L'Arrivee again for a super stay - see you next year.

OUr 3rd floor room had a cathedral ceiling and faced the beautiful entry drive. The buffet was pretty expensive at 16e but since there is nowhere to eat within walking distance it was fine. The soup and burger in the Rustique (bar/restaurant) were exceptional. Walking behind the property though the large path in the woods was quite pleasant.

Außerdem: Wenn man zur falschen Zeit kommt, kann man Pech haben, weil nicht mehr oder nur auf Nachfrage nachgefüllt wird - für ein Hotel dieser Preisklasse unverständlich.

Insgesamt ein tolles Hotel, das ich schon mehrfach besuchen durfte.
Leider erlaubt es sich das Hotel, nach Buchung einfach die Konditionen in Form der Checkin-Zeit zu ändern. Man erhält vor dem Besuch eine Email, dass die Checkin-Zeiten an Spieltagen des BVBs, der vor Heimspielen im Hotel ist, geändert werden. Es gilt dann die Anstoßzeit, die oftmals erst kurz vorher vom DFB festgelegt wird. Auch ob der Verein international weiter kommt und ein Heimspiel hat, entscheidet sich oftmals zwei Wochen vorher.
Man muss sich selbst darum kümmern, wann Anspielzeit ist und erstmal so weit denken, dass das auch abends sein könnte.
Ist diese um 15:30 ist das eine Verzögerung von 30 Minuten und kein Problem. Handelt es sich um ein Abendspiel aber schon. Das kann Checkin um 21 Uhr bedeuten, wie uns erklärt wurde.
Das Risiko von kurzfristigen Spielverlegungen trägt somit auch der Gast, der eventuell schon Wochen vorher gebucht hat.
Beim Checkin war man da auch sehr hart und erst die Intervention über Expedia hat den Fall für uns geklärt. Andere wurden abgewimmelt.
Ein No-Go, was dieses tolle Hotel für mich an keinem Samstag, Sonntag, Dienstag, Mittwoch oder Donnerstag (typische Spieltage) mehr buchbar macht. Sehr schade.

Ist diese um 15:30 ist das eine Verzögerung von 30 Minuten und kein Problem. Handelt es sich um ein Abendspiel aber schon. Das kann Checkin um 21 Uhr bedeuten, wie uns erklärt wurde.
Das Risiko von kurzfristigen Spielverlegungen trägt somit auch der Gast, der eventuell schon Wochen vorher gebucht hat.
Beim Checkin war man da auch sehr hart und erst die Intervention über Expedia hat den Fall für uns geklärt. Andere wurden abgewimmelt.
Ein No-Go, was dieses tolle Hotel für mich an keinem Samstag, Sonntag, Dienstag, Mittwoch oder Donnerstag (typische Spieltage) mehr buchbar macht. Sehr schade.

Ein sehr schönes Hotel mit tollem Wellness Angebot. Ich hatte ein Superior Zimmer mit einer riesigen Terrasse, das ließ keine Wünsche offen. Leider war der Service beim Abendessen eine einzige Katastrophe. Die Mitarbeiterinnen und Mitarbeiter im Service abends renne wie wild durcheinander, achten überhaupt nicht, wenn ein gast etwas bestellen will. Das Hauptgericht kommt, bevor man mit der Hauptspeise fertig ist. Der Kommentar der Kellnerin: Tja heute gehts halt schneller. Das zweite Hauptgericht kommt, als der erste Gast bereits fast fertig ist mit seinem. Keine Entschuldigung. Nichts. Niemand sieht wen Gläser leer sind und man muss während des Essens seine Energie darauf verwenden jemand abfangen zu können um \"Nachschub\" zu bekommen. Bei diesem Niveau und entsprechenden Preisen darf der Gast einen professionellen und freundlichen Service erwarten finde ich. Schade, das trübt den hervorragenden Eindruck des Hotels total.

Das Hotel liegt in einer sehr schönen Landschaft mitten in Dortmund. Es ist ein tolles SPA Hotel und besitzt einen großen Pool mit einem Whirlpool. Das Zimmer ist sehr komfortabel und besitzt in den meisten Fällen einen Balkon. Dort kann man die Sommerabende herrlich genießen. Das Frühstück ist zwar nicht ganz günstig, lohnt sich aber in jedem Fall, da es sehr reichhaltig ist und keine Wünsche offen lässt. Außerdem ist der Frühstücksraum sehr gemütlich eingerichtet.

Sehr guter Wellness Bereich ruhig . Restaurant war Top. Was gar nicht geht der Umgang mit einem an der Rezeption. Ich sollte eine Email bekommen haben wo drin stand das ich erst um 19.45 auf Zimmer gehen kann, obwohl Check-in ab 15 Uhr ist. Habe diese Email nie erhalten.

Ich fühle mich im L’arrive tatsächlich wie zuhause. Egal, ob ich beruflich oder privat in Dortmund oder dem Ruhrgebiet unterwegs bin. Ein wunderbares Team tut immer alles dafür, dass man seinen Aufenthalt komplett genießen kann. Dies beginnt für mich immer schon ganz besonders beim Check-in. Für mich ganz sicher eines der besten Hotels in Deutschland. Aufgrund der persönlichen Note - dank der vielen netten Menschen und den kurzen Wegen - vielleicht sogar vor den ganz großen Namen im Norden oder Süden.

Insgesamt war der Aufenthalt zwar gut, wir hatten allerdings einiges zu beanstanden. Im Zimmer fehlten Hotelschlappen und in der Dusche war versehentlich 2x Shampoo statt Shampoo und Seife. Ich musste an der Rezeption 2 mal um Abhilfe bitten. Das Zimmer an sich war zwar ohne Kühlschrank, aber trotzdem sehr schön. Sogar eine Terrasse mit Waldblick gehörte dazu. Tja, leider mit einem halben Dutzend Zigarettenkippen auf dem Terrassenboden. Das die Einrichtung in die Jahre gekommen war, konnte man auch nicht übersehen. Das Frühstück war wirklich sehr umfangreich. Allerdings waren sowohl das Rührei wie auch die Würstchen und die kleinen Frikadellen bestenfalls lauwarm. Leider hatte der Kaffee die gleiche Temperatur. Positiv war der excelente Service und die frisch zubereiteten Spiegeleier. Ich würde dem Hotel 3 Sterne geben und dafür ist es definitiv zu teuer.

Der Parkplatz hat Sandboden, bei Regen nicht schön , dreckiges Schuhe, Koffer sind die Folge. Die Zufahrt ist mit Schlaglöchern im Asphalt versehen, danach folgt Kopfsteinpflaster, für Frauenschuhe nicht wirklich toll.
Der Wellness Bereich ist super, dieser kann vor allem auch wenn man etwas später anreist, nach 18Uhr noch genutzt werden.

Schönes Hotel, allerdings war in meinem Zimmer (3. Etage) gab es praktisch keine Trittschalldämmung zum darüber liegenden Stockwerk. Man hat jeden Schritt und jedes Öffnen einer Tür gehört. Ansonsten war alles in Ordnung. Das Restaurant ist etwas gehobener, was sich natürlich auch in den Preisen widerspiegelt.

Habe auf einer Geschäftsreise übernachtet. Sehr angenehmes Hotel mit freundlichen Mitarbeitern. Schöner Spa Bereich mit Schwimmbad, Sauna, Garten ect. Ich komme gerne wieder mit mehr Zeit um dann Spa zu genießen. Schnelle Erreichbarkeit von der Autobahn und ruhig am Wald gelegen. Leider gibt es immer noch keine richtige Elektroladestation/ Wallbox. Wenn es überhaupt klappt kann man nur sehr sehr wenig Strom Laden über ein normals Haushaltskabel. Als Geschäftsreisender eigentlich ein Ausschlußkriterium das schöne Hotel zu buchen. Eine Wallbox zu installieren ist sehr einfach und wird auch noch gefördert. Ich hoffe sehr das es bald angebracht wird.

Ich finde es unglücklich das der \"Ruheraum\" ein Durchgangszimmer ist. Es ist nich entspannend ,wenn dauernd jemand rein,raus,durch geht. Zumal die Türen schwer auf und mit einem Knall zu gehen.
