Nearly perfect

Lovely hotel, great aesthetic… but I’ve stayed here twice now in 2 different rooms, and the shower floods all over the bathroom floor. I excused it as a one off but there’s clearly inadequate drainage in the showers.

The other major issue is the airflow. There’s some sort of air circulation system keeping fresh air flowing around the hotel. In theory that’s great, but in practice it meant there’s a positive air pressure in every room, you can feel it when you open the window, it bursts open as a bunch of air escapes, if you keep the window closed, you can hear air rushing out through the seal. I’ve never experienced anything like this. The main issue is how loud the whole room is, it’s kind of like being in an air tunnel. The air conditioner was absolutely off just to clarify. Hopefully this is something they can rectify because other than that. It really is a great hotel for great value. Great location too.

Second time staying at a Basecamp and this was as good as the other I stayed at. The rooms are super smart and clean. On arrival I noticed that the pillows and duvet were made with feathers, which I'm allergic to. The front desk staff were super understanding and replaced the bedding quickly for me. Didn't use any of the facilities here as it was just an overnight stay. Just one small thing, the air-con in my room made a dripping sound when it was off at night, a little annoying but I was so tired it didn't bother me. Fantastic place!

Best Hotel staff ever!

Wow! I can not thank the staff enough. They were extremely kind, compassionate and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. I was going trough a difficult situation with a lost bag in an Uber and they helped me and showed me they care. My room was always clean. One of the best experiences I have ever had!

Nice place to stay. Would definitely recommend!

Short stay but very well located. Clean lobby and rooms. Industrial appearance but amazingly nice place. Comfortable room size and nice beds and bathroom. Workout facilities and rooftop bar with food available.
Close to train station with shopping and eateries all around. Definitely a repeat if we come back!

Great base to explore Dortmund & visit Westfallenhalle

We stayed here to attend an event at Westfallenhalle & Basecamp provided us a perfect, economical base for this. Metro to the show venue was 2 mins walk from the hotel, the main station was about 15 mins walk. Good shopping, bars & restaurants on the doorstep. Good sized double room with ensuite shower room - all clean, comfortable, efficient and modern. Lift to all floors. Bar/dining room (not open Monday evening). Good choice of buffet items for breakfast (including healthy options) set you up for the day. Decor youthful, industrial chic!

Central location with a supermarket just around the corner. Extra benefit is the gym that has a good standard but read on for suggestions.
Where I would like to see improvement is the gym. The sports mat are too short and too few. Some desinfection spray for cleaning would have been good. Last, air condition and the it equipment to run spinning classes in the gym was out of order.

Refused to return £200 headphones left in room

Left property at the hotel. After contacting the hotel they asked me to return a form with bank information so my headphones and coat could be shipped over to the UK. I never received the items and can see on findmyiphone that my headphones have moved from the hotel before being disconnected. I understand I left those items in the hotel and it’s my responsibility but I personally believe they should be returned, especially when I’d spoken to the hotel front desk within 1 hour of checking out. That’s a £200 pair of AirPods and £150 gilet I need to replace.

The 6th floor bar was really cool - and handy because no other pubs in Dortmund seemed to accept cards.

Great first experience in DORTMUND!

Booking was a little messed up by an inexperienced staff but the management made good and handled the issue to our satisfaction. Location is PERFECT in the heart of the city and hotel had perfect decor / ambience! Rooms were in great condition as they just opened. Hope it stays that way!

Only thing is the awkward placement of the toilet paper holder, you have to twist your body to reach it.
Tv didn't work very well and the room was really warm. We used the panel as instructed but ended up having to open a window for it to actually cool down. Kind staff, hotel is LGBTQ+ friendly. Location is perfect, right next to the shopping street, and directly next to a small supermarket.

An sich cooles System. Die Herren an der Anmeldung waren echt toll. Die Zimmer sind „okay“ nicht sauber- aber auch nicht schmutzig. Im Hotelflur lag echt viel Müll(benutzte Taschentücher, getragene Socken), Frühstück ist eine Frechheit für den Preis. Obdachlose direkt vor dem Eingang. Für eine Nacht okay, als Alleinreisende Frau würde ich es nicht machen

Das Hotel ist schon etwas in die Jahre gekommen.
Mein Zimmer war nicht besonders sauber, das große Fenster in einen hässlichen Innenhof, gewährte guten Einblick in alle anderen Zimmer.
Einmal wurde mein Zimmer gar nicht sauber gemacht.
Die Lage ist zwar super zentral mitten in der Stadt, aber direkt davor halten sich auch immer viele Obdachlose auf, der Rewe direkt daneben ist echt super assi.

Es war ein sehr schöner Kurzaufenthalt. Die Lage ist Mega zentral. Zu Fuß ist die komplette City zu erlaufen. Die U-Bahn Station ist in 3 Minuten erreichbar. Sehr hervorzuheben ist die coole Dachterrasse mit Live-DJ ab 17 Uhr. Und das Personal ist überdurchschnittlich freundlich. Wir können dieses Hotel zu 100% weiterempfehlen

Super finde ich auch, dass wirklich alles dabei war, was man braucht. Zudem gibt es was es verspricht, wie zum Beispiel die Nachhaltigkeit, indem man eine online Getränkekarte über den QR-Code bekommt, was viel Müll erspart, wenn sich die Preise ändern oder die Karten kaputt gehen

Insgesamt alles ok, aber leider ging der Abfluss in der Dusche nicht. Das ganze Bad stand nach kurzer Zeit unter Wasser. An der Rezeption sagte ich Bescheid - da wusste man von dem Problem schon, hatte mir das aber nicht beim Checkin gesagt oder irgendetwas erstattet. Ich konnte das Bad nach dem Duschen nicht mehr nutzen.
Außerdem ist die Klimaanlage/Lüftung sehr laut, was nachts stört.

Tolle Lage in der Innenstadt. Das Zimmer war schön und trotz Stadtverkehrs sehr leise. Die Bar bzw. der Frühstücksraum in der oberen Etage ist bezaubernd und hat einen schönen Blick auf die Reinoldikirche und die Dächer von Dortmund.

Der Aufenthalt hat mir insgesamt gut gefallen. Das Personal an der Rezeption war sehr nett und das Frühstücksbuffet ist toll! Das Zimmer hätte minimal sauberer sein können (Staub am Bett/Kopfteil,...) und es hat mich gewundert, dass bei 4 Nächten nie geputzt oder wenigstens Mülleimer ausgeleert wurden. Es war nie Personal im Zimmer. Falls das aus Nachhaltigkeitsgründen so ist, könnte man darauf hinweisen.

Base Camp er et godt valg med tanke på prisen og hva du får. Rommet har god kvalitet og det var stille der hvor jeg hadde mitt rom. Beliggenheten er sentral med mange restauranter, kort til «metro» og tog. Der er en del uteligger i området, men opplevde de som harmløse. Hvis du ikke har frokost inkludert koster den €19,90 pr gang, som var overpriced.
