Great Location. Easy to walk to most attractions (Museums, Shopping, Dining etc) and close to the subway when needed. Very good breakfast with lots of variety. Only minor issue was the shower was quite small but overall bathroom was very good.

This hotel is adequate, but I would not stay here again. The staff cleaning my room forgot to give me towels on my second day. First time that’s happened to me. The breakfast was nothing special. I had to wait till my third breakfast before I saw a croissant. The coffee machine needed a lot of maintenance resulting in people having to wait quite a while to get some coffee.

Great location next to a market for food and drinks, also plenty of restaurants and bars within very close walking distance.
Nice sized room. Friendly staff who speak English to help with any questions.
Nice breakfast.
The only thing that was annoying (as I am a light sleeper) is that you can hear and feel the rumbles of underground trains passing under or very close to the hotel which woke me up at about 05.30 both mornings.

The staff was very kind and caring. The lobby and room were spacious and clean. The area is perfect, quite, close to the center and metro station. The breakfast is very good. The only disadvantages we encountered were the lack of small fridge and tea pot.

This hotel was lovely - friendly check in, good size comfortable room, good location, and the main thing I noticed was that the bathroom was SO CLEAN! It was literally sparkling. Good choice at breakfast. Really good value for money given the location, cleanliness and good breakfast provided. It was a little bit noisy outside as my room was by the main road, so if this is an issue for you maybe consider requesting a room which isn’t by the main road, however it was fine for me

First the good - this is an older style hotel. It has a certain charm but it’s pretty basic. The breakfast is varied & excellent & the location in the middle of the Night Market is excellent. The bed was comfortable. We had asked for a double but were given two singles pushed together with a big gap in between the mattresses. Not ideal.

I imagine some of the rooms are large & airy. However we were put in the attic on the 5th floor so space was very limited & awkward due to the sloping roof. This was a bit disappointing as we were staying for 3 nights. The lift only goes as far as floor 4 so if you have mobility issue, floor 5 will not suit you.

The water pressure in our room (503) was so low it was almost impossible to have a shower.

There is no kettle so if you want tea or coffee in the evening you have to ask reception staff to make it for you. This seems quite common in Vienna.

Overall we had a good stay - but my advice would be to avoid floor 5.

Great location and a wonderful step back in time.

The Hotel 3 Kronen is located right beside the Naschtmarket with a great variety of places to eat at reasonable prices. It was also within walking distance of the Ringstrasse making many of Vienna's most famous attractions accessible on foot. Good links throughout the city by bus, tram and subway too if you want to go further afield.

The breakfast buffet was great with lovely fresh bread and a wide variety of food, including bacon and scrambled eggs, so not just the usual continental breakfast. You could even celebrate with a glass of sparkling wine!

The staff were helpful and friendly.

There was only one downside to the visit, the lack of tea/coffee making facilities in the room or a small fridge. This would have made the stay even better.

Good location, rooms could use improvement

The location of the hotel was great; Vienna is a big city and Drei Kronen was close to the heart of it. The room we were in was top floor but elevator doesn't go that high. Room was small, too small for 2 adults and 1 infant, we were tripping over each other. Nice skylight window in ceiling, great views when you open it and look out over the Naschmarkt. Good thing skylight was there; ceiling was sloped in and made half the room too small to stand in. Fixtures in the room could have used some polish and maintenance. Breakfast was included and was delicious and plentiful!

The hotel staff is super friendly and very helpful. Last night we were leaving at around 4:30am to catch a very early flight, and the woman at the front desk (I'm sorry I can't remember your name) was super nice and prepared breakfast for us even when breakfast wasnt servced until 7am.

We were there during a heat wave and the AC did not work well and the drainage bucket overflowed every 6 hours so half the carpet was wet. The shampoo and body wash was empty and was never refilled. FYI elevator does not go up to the 5th floor so you have to carry your bags up the stairs. On the bright side, rooms were clean, staff was friendly and they let us check in early.

You definitely want a room in the front since they have no air conditioned rooms and if you are in the back of the hotel there is no air circulation. You only have a fan in your room moving around hot air. Everything else was great!

A good priced hotel for our long weekend in Vienna. Stayed near the Naschmarkt, which is good for eating places and within walking distance of the old city centre.
Although the hotel was comfortable, and the staff were really helpful, it is an old hotel, which would benefit from having air conditioning in warm weather.

Terrible odor worst service and attitude

I reserved non smoking room for two nights. Only one room was left when I arrived and checked in. Room’s odor was really bad and we couldn’t breath. The guy who works in the front told us that that was not smoking smell. Only the reason that he founded no cigarettes at the room when we entered there. Bad service, terrible employee, no ventilation system.. I complained to Expedia and they refunded fully. I walked out from there and found another hotel. I think that hotel’s value is under $50 per night.

Great location across near Market and Opera

The staff at Drei Kronen was extremely helpful and accommodating when we arrived before check-in time, and then left our luggage for a few days while we explored the Wachau Valley. The breakfast buffet contained a good variety of choices, including champagne, and we were able to walk to the Market, theater, restaurants, and a central metro stop. If you travel to Vienna, consider staying at Drei Kronen.

This was our third time in this hotel. The price has gone up since our last visit three years ago, yet the hotel condition has deteriorated. We got a room on the 5th floor, while the elevator goes up only to the 4th floor. If before I could say it was good value for money, I can't say this any more - it's too expensive for what you get.

Deluxe Triple Room not as expected

The hotel staff were extremely nice and helpful. Breakfast was great the first day; 2nd day the amazing coffee machine broke—hotel should have refunded the breakfast as we had to purchase coffee elsewhere. The main issue was our room. We reserved a “deluxe triple room” 2 months in advance. The room was not as described. There was 1 small window which opened onto the busiest street with tons of noise. If you closed the window, there was no air circulation. The beds were uncomfortable. I peeked into other rooms that had multiple windows and had nicer layouts. I was unable to sleep both nights due to the extreme discomfort of the room. The hotel was costly and was not like the triple deluxe room we stayed in in Salzburg. They also need to switch from the heavy room keys to key cards.

I have stayed at the Drei Kronen three time and plan to do so again in the future. I come to Vienna to eat, drink, explore, and spend time with friends. It is close to everything a tourist would like to see and do, that is, closen to train lines, restaurants, bars, museums, and churches. Easy to reach main train station and airport.

The staff were very helpful and made us feel really welcome. My friend and I stayed in two single rooms with an adjoining balcony, which we very much enjoyed using. Good Bus service into the city,15 minutes.
Breakfast room was packed with Japanese tourists and we could not get in.
We waited 20 minutes but by then no food was left. It took the staff another 30 minutes to replenish the food for the other guests.
Breakfast was not included and we had to pay extra. We think it should be
included with the room charges.

The hotel is in a great location, right off of the Naschmarkt where you can get excellent cheap food and clothes. It's also close to two subway stations, Kettenbruckengasse and Karlsplatz which can easily take you anywhere in the city. About a 20 minute walk to the hof burg and 25 yo stephansdom. The hotel itself has nice architecture, but could use a bit of upkeep, especially on the outside. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good, not great. Typical European breakfast plus some eggs and bacon to please us americans. Coffee wasnt too good

Hotel conveniently situated across Naschmarket

We had a group of 4 traveling together. We reserved the two double beds. When we open the door to the room, it had an old musky/shoe smell. We quickly opened all the windows to ventilate. The room is cramped and bathroom was small. The shower is tight fitting. I'm a 5 foot 2 inch female and I bang my head to the soap trays ever time I take a shower. Since the room is with no air condition, the temperature in June requires the windows to be open but because my room faces the busy street and the Naschmarket, it gets really loud with music thumping pass midnight. If you are a light sleeper like me, bring a pair of ear plugged. Breakfast was good for the rating of the hotel.

Great little hotel in a wonderful location.

This is my third stay and I remain a big fan. The location is perfect for getting into the center city by foot or tram, the selection of restaurants in the area is even better than I remember it, the staff is friendly and helpful at all times. Tomas, at the front desk, is a good example of what someone in that position should be and do. He is unfailingly helpful, pleasant and business like when required. The rooms are small, but comfortable..very typical European. The breakfast is ample.

Just before the famous Nash Markt. 1 minute walk from An Der Wien Theatre. City center is walking distance.(10 min) To the Belvedere, 20 mins walk. Price is low compared to other well located hotels. The door is old fashioned key type, but it's fine. Breakfast is good. Staffs are friendly and helpful.

Nice, basic hotel near Nasch Markt in Vienna.

Kind of a bare bones hotel and the area is a bit run down, but it's right across from the Nasch Markt, which is why we chose it. Just a couple of blocks from Karsplatz subway station or the trams, so you can get around the city easily from here. A nice continental breakfast each morning is included in the hotel price. Staff was very helpful. Great value for a short stay in Vienna. Wifi worked great. You have to ask for a hairdryer, but it was no big deal. Wish more European hotels included irons, since clothes get a bit wrinked if you're living out of a suitcase for a few weeks.

I stayed here one night during my stay in Vienna. I enjoyed the room. Cozy, but nice with how it split into a bedroom and office area. The hotel was just outside the city center so access to the main tourist sights was pretty easy. No air conditioning, but the room was cool enough when I went with a fan. Just be warned it could get hot in the summer. Nice breakfast buffet. Overall a good place to stay on a budget.

The desk personnel were fabulous. Check in was smooth, parking instructions clear, sightseeing information very helpful. The mark of excellent service was seen on our last day there. My husband's wallet was lost/stolen. The gentleman on the desk helped him to make the phone calls to cancel credit card and debit card. Made the call to the police and directed us on how to file a police report. Otherwise, the room was very nice, adequate size and clean. Breakfast was very good.

Wir nutzten das Hotel für ein verlängertes Wochenende in Wien. Die zentrale Lage hat natürlich Vor- und Nachteile. Sehr positiv ist, dass man hier schnell fußläufig am Ring und damit in der Innenstadt ist. Nachteil: die Umgebungsgeräusche.
Das Hotel selbst (wir hatten ein Zimmer der Kategorie Superior) war für einen Städtetrip völlig in Ordnung. Das Zimmer war nicht zu groß, aber wir wollten ja auch nicht im Hotel sitzen, sondern die Stadt sehen. Eine zweite Sitzmöglichkeit (von der Bettkante abgesehen) wäre in einem Doppelzimmer allerdings dennoch angebracht.
Das Frühstück war gut.
Bei einem erneuten Wien-Trip werde ich wohl wieder hier absteigen.

The hotel was a good choice. The staff was super friendly and helpful. Every staff member greeted us with a smile. The rooms were big and spacious with tall room heights. The beds were comfortable. A few extra pillows would have been appreciated. Rooms were cleaned every day and bed sheets changed every other day. Breakfast was the best part of the stay. So good! The hotel is located next to Naschmarkt and is right next to Karlplatz -metro tunnel. We used those tunnels to get everywhere around the town both by walking and by public transport. Super easy! You really couldn´t hear the traffic that well inside the hotel. The hotel was well soundproofed. The metro was only heard in the room as a soft hum when it went pass.
