Our room was on 3rd floor. Absolutely tiny. I think the mattress was as old as the building, when you laid on the bed all you could feel was the hard divan base. The TRV on the radiator didn’t work so it was absolutely red hot. The wood chip wallpaper on the ceiling was all cracked and coming down. Lovely breakfast. There are lots more nicer hotels in Harrogate

Where to begin - £15 parking would be reasonable if I was staying in London however to charge a high fee for a parking garage with limited space and poor lighting feels abit cheeky. However, I was happy to overlook this as I appreciate I'm in the main town centre of Harrogate.
The problem began with our double standard room, it was small to say the least with no fridge, limited space to move around and the floorboards where uneven with what I can only describe as council contract carpet that smelt.
The bathroom was even more small but I was impressed in how they got a bathtub toilet and sink in - kudos to the interior designer. Whilst clean it was clean and clearly had been refurbished recently the size really did let it down.
Unfortunately the room was placed right underneath the beer garden so sleep was out of reach since the bar didn't close till gone past 1 am it seems.
Walls and floorboards were thin so could here every footstep, cough and noise from all the residents staying that night. Lastly, the bed was so budget you could feel the springs in the mattress. Pillows came from the 99p store !
How this was rated as 4 star is beyond me at best this is 2 star B&B. Avoid I left the next morning despite having one more day paid for, that's how bad it is !

However, our room was right above the Bar which was very noisy and music really loud till well after midnight, right on a main road which is busy throughout the night also and with no double glazing was extremely noisy. We stayed 2 nights and never had our room serviced. We return on Friday to shower and change for dinner and the room had not been cleaned, when we went to reception asking for tea supplies & mentioned this we were asked if we wanted to be added to the list to request it to be done? Sorry, I thought this was an automatic thing and not that we needed to be requested. if anyone is thinking of staying it is a lovely hotel and good location for access to everything but I would recommend requesting a room on the back and not above the bar!!

We stayed in a deluxe double in the annex building next door. The room had no supplemental dead bolt lock or indoor security chain. So anyone with a card key could have entered the room. I told my teenage daughter that she should not stay in a hotel room without a way for her to secure the door from the inside.
My mother's room in the main hotel had an indoor security chain. I encourage the hotel to rectify this situation for the rooms in the annex.

We had the sandwich and chips option but will have to go back for the Sunday lunch - it looked great and was obviously popular with regulars. On line booking states parking is available. Why doesn't it say at a cost of £15.00 per night. Rooms advertised as apartments. They are quite simply hotel rooms.If we had a standard room I,m not sure what size a cosy room is.

Ok let’s start by saying this is not the hotels fault as it didn’t state air con, I didn’t add to filter so my mistake, it wax a hot day and night yesterday so without air con it was simply unbearable in the rooms and the fans supplied were totally useless and so sadly I slept in my car half the night , a real shame as the hotel/ pub/ service is excellent, shame they don’t splash out in air con to upgrade the lovely hotel

White Heart is a cracking hotel for staying at Harrogate, situated in good location the room large enough bed comfortable bathroom had over the bath shower it nice to have a room with a bath, great for relaxing after a busy day.

Stayed here for one night here, room was nicely done out but the bed was very small and saggy at the ends. There was no air conditioning in the room and the window wouldn't open properly, it was a hot weekend so it made for a very uncomfortable night. The lady who checked us in was very pleasant and asked us what time we would like breakfast the next day (we had prepaid for it). She said it was served until 10.30 so we said we'd like to take breakfast at 10. No problem. The morning arrived and we went down for breakfast at 10 as agreed, only to be greeted by a woman shaking her head saying we were too late and breakfast finished at 10. I explained what we were told at check in and she could not care less. There were a few groups behind us who had the same issue. I was referred to reception and they eventually agreed to refund me but only after essentially saying it was our fault. If we had been alone in this we would probably have accepted we'd misheard at check in, but as mentioned there were several others in the same boat. Mistakes happen, but their attitude stank - lots of eye rolling and head shaking and not a single apology. Basil Fawlty vibes. I must say though that the younger staff were a lot more pleasant throughout our stay, clearly they're yet to develop the true disdain for customers that their colleagues have. Also Hotels.com says the hotel has a pool, it does not. I knew this in advance but people from the area may not realise and will be disappointed.
