When we tried to check in we found that the hotel appears to be permanently closed. No one informed us ahead of time despite of our reservation.
We found that there was mold in the bathroom. The fridge contained food items from a previous guest. Overall it was a bad experience.

This is an excellent value for your money. Though not expensive, it is well constructed and appointed like a quality hotel should be. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The area is quiet and the location is very convenient to transportation and shopping.

I arrived after 10pm and the hotel reception was closed. I had to travel to another hotel few kilometres away to get the key and come back to get into my room. It's unheard of especially for a country like German. It was an awful experience and extremely disappointing.

Basic hotel - in name and function

I had an early flight out of Hannover, so Basic Hotel met my needs. It is a short walk from the train station and there are a number of restaurants close by. As with most hotels in Germany, it was clean and functional. However, it was short of comfort. A comfy chair in the room would have been wonderful. But the hotel served my needs for an inexpensive hotel close to the airport.

The clue is in the name

It says basic and it is just that! Staff are very helpful and friendly but the rooms are very basic, single bed basic shower room shampoo in plastic packets really low budget and not well kept, a bit tired. Was very expensive since this was show week in Hannover

very convenient for a late arrival at Langenhagen airport (HAJ), but a little close to the runway. However, the double glazing took care of mist of the noise.
Nice hotel, pleasant staff and cleverly furnished room. I would stay there again.

Breakfast was good, bed was basic, the check in was not good. It says under \"notice\" to check in before 11pm but that is not correct as check in is closed after 10pm. Result was a round trip walk to mother hotel \"best western\" get the keys and return to \"worst western\". And to find this out you need some local help. Good luck with your German!!

The staff is surly, the \"free wifi\" only works in the cramped lobby, and the amenities are - as the name would imply - basic. That being said, they lay out a decent spread for breakfast, but don't try to get it before 6:30. They lock the door and elevator so no one can get to the first floor.

Simple, clean a a place to rest a weary head

The Basic Hotel is pretty much that. 10 mins cab ride from the Airport, pretty basic means and interesting choice of decor but it was clean, cosy and secure. I must say as a single female traveller I felt the security of the place was very good, and noted that this is one place Ive stayed in where I have felt really comfortable. I had to arrange to collect my room key from their sister hotel, The Best Western, that was pretty sufficient and easy to do so to let myself into the hotel after the reception had closed. The free breakfast wasn't bad and the staff, although the ones I came across, spoke little English they were very friendly and efficiently dealt with my questions. Overall I wouldn't mind staying here again.

Upon arrival we asked for places to go in the evening, we were told there was nowhere to go only the hotel. We went out for a walk and found numerous restaurants where we could also relax and have a drink,
At breakfast time from 7am till 10am. We were at breakfast for 9-30 , everything was turned off and cold, there was no coffee until we asked for it. The tea selection was empty, they made my husband boiled eggs after complaining and looking at there watches, the eggs arrived very under cooked which we were not surprised by the lack of hospitality and attitude of the staff, the kitchen staff stayed in the kitchen giggling and laughing very loudly and then a succession of around 7or 8 people proceeded to come and look at us and vanish into the kitchen, I did not bother with what was on offer and left because of how humiliating the staff were my husband followed soon after , we packed and left even thanking the receptionist because to do anything else would have been fruitless, we will also be posting this on trip adviser,
However credit where it is due , the restaurant manager from Greece was pleasant and friendly. Such a shame the rest of his team have not learnt from his standard.
We were in 2 minds to ask for the breakfast refund, but I think it would have been taken directly out of our account. Choose a different hotel even basic hotels should have hospitality and manners

Lives up tonit's name!

We booked the Basic hotel for a last minute business trip. Unfortunately we planned the trip at the same time as the CeBit conference, so the only hotel rooms to be found were here. Assuming that it would be similar to a Premier lnn, Ibis, Travelodge etc.

Firtsly we arrived late and had to walk 1.5km to collect our room key. Once in our rooms we were greeted by the most horrible stench. All of or llur rooms were the same, so therefore have to assume that our experience was typical.

I'd urge anyone to only consider this hotel as a last resort. a very unpleasant experience!

We did however find the funny side of our experience!

Hotel is not really next to the airport as it's around 5km from the airport a cab would cost you around 8 euros from the airport. For a 2 star hotel it's quite good, rooms are clean and breakfast and restaurant are fine. I think they should improve a the reception staff service.

If you want to go to a cheap hotel close to the airport, don't go to this one. This hotel isn't actually close to the airport. The taxi to and from the airport makes this hotel worse than going to the more expensive hotels near the airport. But if you want to go to an ok-to-nice hotel in Hannover, then this is fine.

Can you get a better value for your money?

I think this place is hard to beat. Everything is good from the front desk staff competence and friendliness to the rooms. Ok, the rooms decor is somewhat dated but you have the amenities you need and all is clean. I stayed at a four star hotel the week before and had a massive 10 year old TV. Here they have sleek TVs. The bed was comfy and the breakfast was way above average. Wifi also worked perfectly and was free. I can honestly say I think I never had a better value for money.

The staff is excellent. Very helpful. I couldn't thank them enough. They went out of there way to to make a call for me and to make my stay a pleasant one. Good location. The only problem is the pool/sauna is closed all day and all night except for 1 1/2 hours each night. Hotel Basic needs to make that information available.

Sofern man wie wir früher abreist gibt es keine Möglichkeit irgendwas zu essen, auch nicht zu frühstücken oder wenigstens einen Kaffee zu trinken, das griechische Restaurant in Raumunion ist seit 2 Jahren geschlossen und der Raucherbereich vor der Tür nicht überdacht, der Fahrstuhl von 22 bis 6 Uhr ausser Betrieb - kurzum nie wieder, zumal auch die Entfernung zum Flughafen relativ weit und die Anbindung an öffentliche Verkehrsmittel schlecht ist und Parkplätze gesondert berechnet werden

Das Hotel ist sehr zentral aber ruhig gelegen! Essensmöglichkeiten...einkaufen und schlendern in dem schönen Park...alles ist gut fußläufig möhlich!! Erwähnen möchte ich das die Flugzeuge sehr nah über diesen Ort starten und landen...mit Fenster angeklsppt sollte man Oropax tragen...bei Fenstr zu geht es muss man sagen aber wer sehr geräuschsempfindlich ist sollte abhilfe schaffen!!! Sonst ist das Hotel ganz niedlich...etwas altbacken bzw.abgewohnt aber man sieht das hier und da was erneuert wird oder wurde!!Das Bad war schön groß und die Matratzen waren auch ganz gut ...nicht zuu fest und bloß nicht zu weich!! Wir hatten sonst komplett unsere Ruhe und hatten alles in der Nähe und konnten am nächsten Tag entspannt mit S-Bahn in 3 min. Zum Flughafen fahren! Laufzeit vom Hotel bis zur S-Bahn ca. 10min. !!! Wir fanden es gut und kommen gerne wieder!!

Die Möbel sind alt und beschädigt, die Zimmer müffeln, was schwer mit lüften zu kompensieren war. Es wirkt alles herunter gewirtschaftet. Das Frühstück ist definitiv keine 13,- € wert. Eine Sorte Käse, das Gemüse (Gurken und Tomaten) waren gefroren.
Der Kaffee dafür ausgezeichnet, schön wären ToGoBecher.
Das Personal der Rezeption war sehr bemüht, sie hätten ein besseres Hotel verdient.

Wir kamen um 14:40 an und wollten einchecken (Check-In 15 Uhr). Man hat sich geweigert uns ins Zimmer zu lassen um uns kurz umzuziehen und auf Toilette zu gehen nach 6 Stunden Anreise.
Der CheckIn war kompliziert. Das Restaurant war eine Baustelle und das Hotel bräuchte dringend ein Make-Over!

Da ab 13:00 kein Personal mehr im Haus sein sollte liefen wir vom Bahnhof Langenhagen Mitte mit Koffern zum Schwesterhotel Tullip inn. Dort hieß es , die Dame ist bis 13:30 da. Also liefen wir mit unseren Koffern von einem Hotel zum anderen. Eine bessere Kommunikation hätte uns Zeit und Mühe erspart.

Da Messe in Hannover ist, sind die Zimmerpreise exorbitant teuer. Habe hier noch ein vergleichbares Schnäppchen gemacht und 150 € für die Nacht bezahlt, was in diesem Zeitraum in Hannover sehr günstig ist.
Dachte mir mit einem Bewertung von 7,0 kann es ja nicht so schlecht sein, aber ich habe mich getäuscht.

Das Hotel ist wahnsinnig in die Jahre gekommen. Hier wurde Jahrzehnte nichts mehr an der Einrichtung und am Design gemacht. Die Flecken im Teppich sind mindestens 20 Jahre alt, und das ganze Interieur lässt zu bedenken.

Die Toilettenbrille ist kaputt und generell das Badezimmer ist ein Desaster, Auch im Zimmer sind diverse Einrichtung Teile defekt und kaputt.

Dieses Hotel kann ich absolut nicht empfehlen!

Uappetittlig - ikkefungerende dusjholder, tett sluk, manglende lys/lampe - kun EN stikkontakt osv.
Gir tre stjerner på service pga god hjelp med sen innsjekk.
Men dette var grelt - og ikke i det hele tatt verdt 230 Euro per natt!

Sehr gutes Preis Leistungsverhältnis, nicht so gut war die Übergardine in Zimmer 12, da muss mal ne neue angebracht werden. Die reichte links und rechts nicht, um das gesamte Fenster so zu verdanken, dass man Blick dicht schlafen kann..Für Menschen,die ein abgedunkeltes Zimmer Benötigen schwierig.

Nicht das gebuchte Zimmer bekommen.

Gebucht haben wir da ohne Aufpreis drei Zimmer mit Doppelbetten, bekommen hat aber jeder ein Zimmer mit einem kleinem Einzelbett. Frühstück gab es keins obwohl es hier gegen Aufpreis angeboten wird. Parkplatz ist sehr eng und wir haben außerhalb geparkt. Nicht zu empfehlen.

Nice and comfortable hotel

The hotel is near by the Hannover Airport and is in a very quiet area.
All the staffs at the reception were very kind and helpful and I very enjoyed staying there due to their kind support.
Only the thing that should be improved is the room condition. The carpet was bit dirty.
Except that, I have my own intention to stay in this hotel again.
