the hotel staff were very friendly and kind. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was amazing! The food tasty and inexpensive overall. Unfortunately, some of the clerks in the shops in the lobby took a hard-sell approach to customers.

We came to celebrate our 25th anniversary and for the night I forgot I was in Nepal. The bed was like a cloud. The pillows amazing. We treated ourself to a spa treatment and that was wonderful as well. It was a great place to relax and celebrate.

There were a few mechanical problems with the room, for example , TV didn’t initially work, could open window, flooding on bathroom floor after shower. Minor issues but annoying. Seemed to have difficulty fixing my laundry bill as wee. Not sure if it was the computer software that was the issue or the staff person. Also went to use hot tub but it had been emptied for cleaning during its open hours. Minor irritants.

Quality of the hotel, one would expect everything in order, which it was more or less. But I did not like attitude of staff - waiters in restaurant not being sufficiently respectful and polite. But reception staff was good and very efficient. All in all, therefore only average experience.

It’s not a 5 star hotel. It’s dated. It’s smells. It need refurbishment. I reserved a king bed and got a twin bed. There was hair in the bath. Do I need to go on? It was awful. Basically I consider this fraud. Sold one thing and delivered something else.

This property has two complexes - a more fancy one and a less fancy annex. Right next to each other. Situated at the end of a side street away from the busy traffic. I stayed at the annex and loved that it was more cozy and more quiet. Receptionists very welcoming and helpful. Location of hotel is great - close to tourist district for shopping (easy walk but pollution high and only few minutes by taxi). Clean sheets and clean bathroom. Breakfast is not included in room. Can get a la carte - nice danishes and pastries. Modest terrace cafe on third floor - kind of roof top. Peaceful. Not too many people. Main complex has Italian restaurant. Nice service. Overall had a very pleasant experience and a nice stay. Felt like at home.

The hotel has 2 buildings, one good, one not so good, unfortunately we were in the not so good. I can only assume that the type of room you choose decides which part of the hotel you are in. It would be far better if you inluded this in your hotel description, if I had known I would have booked to stay in the good part or a different hotel.

Comfortable hotel with cheery staff, but one issue

The Radisson was as we expected for its name, but we had an issue with additional fees. We are a family of six and reserved two rooms (one adult and two children in each). One of the rooms we were assigned had two twin beds, so we requested an additional one to accommodate the third person, as per our booking. The hotel insisted on charging us US$15 per night on top of the usual fee for the extra bed. We protested that because we reserved a room for three and were provided a room for two that the additional fee was unreasonable, but the hotel dug in their heels. We're not impressed because we paid a very fair rate for the rooms.

Great hotel. Service is good and it’s in a great location. The restaurants are not great and better food can be found nearby. The Ambassador across the street is a little nicer and typically a bit less expensive, but if I can’t get in there I stay here.

The room in the new building much better than old building
But the matres not really comfortable

Regarding the old building the wc too bad
No shattaf in the wc
I was having like balcony it was very dirty

we stayed an hour in the room and then checked out without expecting or getting a refund. Did not feel the hotel was anywhere near a 5 star rating. The front desk offered an upgrade, but we decided to leave anyway.

Extremely Helpful Staff

My flight was delayed from 10pm to after midnight; and my luggage didn't come! When I arrive there the frontdesk manager took my luggage info and promised to take care of it. The next day another manager saw me in the morning and told me he's aware of the situation and he'll follow up. Finally they got the luggage at the airport on the third day and they called me to keep me updated about the status. They've been very thoughtful and helpful!!

It has been an extremely disappointing experience for me to schedule a reservation in Kathmandu with your hotel. And it is not just the food & beverage, but the entire end to end experience with service management was extremely disappointing and a big let down. Please read below the experience my visitors had at your hotel.

•As soon as they arrive their room was upgraded to the new Radisson building. This was not mentioned at the time of booking and no specific reason shared for the change in the room. The room allotted to the visitors did not have functional lights and the water tap was jammed. This is the least expected on a pre scheduled reservation from a hospitality service of Radisson.
•The food ordered for in room service for lunch was stale and old. Another first experience as soon as you get into the hotel, disappointing
•The food at the dinner buffet was very average for the price of a the daily meal charge that you have taken
•Lastly, the special dinner which was being discussed for over a week was not delivered as expected. You have already apologized for this, however, I would like to mention that the least you could have done is to offer a cake at the right time and may be put in some flowers there, a treatment you get at any five star hotel even without a reserved booking. The anniversary cake was not put in the room as you say below, it was in fact delivered at 10:30pm, when the special day was already over.

hotel location v good close to main shopping areas

e.g aloo paratha had practically no aloo; food taste also not satisfying,
To top it all the cost of food was astronomically high
We could get great Indian food at 1/5 of the price not very far from the hotel.
The Radisson chef needs to be re-trained or fired.

The hotel is in a good location for walking to some of the sights. There are also a lot of restaurants in the area. The hotel is comfortable but the front desk staff was not very welcoming. Other services staff were helpful and friendly.

Clean hotel

Hotel is far from the city center (Thamel) but near the more luxurious Lazimpat area. I recommend it if you plan to stay in Kathmandu (which I don't recommend...)
