We have stayed at the hotel at least 6 times in recent years and this time we felt a radical change in the breakfast. The breakfast has become poor and many things that used to be there are missing. The Asian corner, smoked and pickled salmon, vegetables like radishes, a selection of cakes, all of these are no more and it is a shame and the price they ask for the meal is very high compared to what you get

I have stayed at this hotel for many years, and amenities/maintenance are constantly declining.
Specifically, on this stay air conditioning barely worked, and in the morning there was no hot water. Was not fixed in hours, although we were this would not last longer then 10 minutes.
Room furniture is defect (table) and bathroom amenities are non-existent.
This is a beautiful property, but unfortunately by now poorly run. Steigenberger went through an ownership change, may be that’s the root cause. Too bad!

I love the hotel but this time no wash soap, no shampoo, and no remote control - when I asked about the VIP access upgrade and /or 20 Euro for meal or drinks, it was denied.
When I checked out, I was asked why I didn’t use it. This time - very disappointed about not fixing items within two nights.

Blessed with a phenomenal location, but service wasn't as expected.
First, I would like to start off by saying that the Steigenberger Hotel resides at an excellent location. It is conveniently located next to the Kurpark and is within easy walking distance of the shopping district (Louisen Str). The ongoing challenge that we had during our stay was concerning the bathroom, specifically the availability of wash cloths. On the first night my wife and I each had one washcloth for use. We stayed in many other hotels and never had an issue with wash cloths. However, for the next several nights we only received one washcloth. When I brought this to the attention of the staff, I was informed that there were no washcloths available and was issued a much larger hand towel instead. Using a large hand towel in the shower is doable, but unacceptable for a hotel like the Steigenberger.
Asking the front desk for wash cloths and hearing there are none available is just really sad for a hotel the size of the Steigenberger. We shouldn't have to ask for that in the first place. It is a normal thing that a hotel provides towels, wash cloths for the guests, but not the Steigenberger. Over the course of our 11 night stay this reoccurring issue devolved into a series of episodes consisting of dirty washcloths being left in the bathroom. Finally, my wife who is German and had lived in Bad Homburg for years left a note in German for the housekeeping staff which made the situation somewhat

No air conditioning in a room with western facing exposure. Misleading as to a \"shuttle\" to the airport. They really meant that they can call a taxi or one can walk to the railroad station and take a train. Problem with room lighting in which the guy at the desk said there was nothing we could do to turn off the final room night. He was wrong on that. Hidden fees such as a citywide spa tax. Overall, pretty disappointing and overpriced.

I was expecting absolute 5 star service but unfortunately it didn’t arrive. The beds were tired, the pillows saggy, housekeeping a distant myth and overall .. not the burner as the German’s would say ... disappointing

Good Simple hotel

This is a beautiful hotel, the room was large, breakfast was great and the location was very convenient. Sadly, the hotel deceived me by saying they had a fitness room but it was under construction and that was not revealed to me before booking. I had planned a weekend of detox and fitness but was not able to do that. I went to the Bad Homburg Therme but their fitness room was not great and I had to pay extra for it. the hotel should have provided a discount or other accommodations knowing their fitness room was not available to guests. The food was good.

I have been coming to the Steigenberger Hotel in Bad Homburg once a year for many consecutive years but unfortunately, the service in the restaurant has never been noteworthy. Ordering dinner take long and even at breakfast the table service is sluggish or an order gets missed. Otherwise it is a nice hotel that is suitable for business travelers

Hidden Gem in Bad Homburg

\"Steigenberger\" conjures up images of old-world grandness and decor in my mind. This property, though, is extremely unpretentious and quite modern, albeit with tasteful retro touches. Staff were amazing, allowing us to check in at 8 a.m. after a long flight from Hong Kong. Bravo! And they let us eat breakfast for free that first day, though it technically shouldn't have started until day two. I'm spoiled by top-quality, new Asian properties, so the rooms here were just so-so. Thankfully, the a/c worked well - not a given in every European hotel. The neighborhood, near the Kurpark, was amazing, loved sitting outside for a coffee and cake in the quiet neighborhood. Breakfast buffet was good, not great, but thank you for making me daily omelets! Gym was mediocre, but at least there was someplace to work out. You're in walking distance to a nearby gym, which offers day passes. And the town of Bad Homburg is two minutes away. Charming. I cannot stress enough that if you're going on summer vacation, the Steigenberger Bad Homburg is a gem and a great, quiet getaway that's near to everything, be it taxis, the town center or the train station. Was very satisfied.

Hotel is nice. Mattress is very hard. One pillow only that was too thin. Had to call and request another. Despite the Do Not Disturb sign they knocked at my door at 9 am Saturday and claimed the sign fell off. Then again at noon he rang the phone to ask if he could clean the room. Seriously? After flying all night all I wanted was some rest. TV remote control doesn’t work.

The hotel turned off the water in the morning all day until approximately 3 PM for maintenance. Work should have been done off hours not during the busiest time in the morning till late in the afternoon we could not shower brush our teeth wash your face or clean up or use the restroom would not flush. Also the room was very dusty and dirty they did not change the towels or provide amenities they need a new housekeeping employees or train them better . The hotel is nice looking and classy but needs improvement to continue to hold the status they do

The hotel was very well appointed and in a great, quiet location. Shops and the grocery store were all within walking distance, and it was very easy to get into Frankfurt by either taxi or the train. Staff was very helpful and accommodating. Breakfast was ok, but likely not the best I have had in the area.

Upscale hotel close to the park, great breakfast

This is a very nice hotel near the park and within walking distance to the saunas and famous Spielbank, as well as to downtown. The staff is relatively friendly and the room was clean and comfortable. The fitness studio is small with just a few machines and an odd electric massage water-bed that you can pay to use (we didn't try it). The breakfast is fantastic and well worth it IF you prepay as part of your room package. There used to be a library on the first floor but apparently they got rid of it and now there is almost nowhere to sit without being asked to buy drinks/food etc. We were hoping to work during the day and go to the saunas and restaurants in the evening, but the lobby setup made that difficult. Otherwise a pleasant stay at a very nice hotel.

Nice hotel in the center of Bad Homburg

Only stayed here one night for an event at the hotel. I paid for my hotel room with breakfast included through my Orbitz booking.

Everything was great until time of checkout. The front desk desk receptionist asked me if I had breakfast and I responded affirmatively and he wanted to charge 26 Euros. When I informed him that breakfast was included in my Orbitz hotel rate, he stated that it was NOT. I asked him to wait while I pulled up my confirmation on my smart phone.

While I was allowing other customers to be attended to at the check out desk, and still searching for my Orbitz e mail confirmation about my breakfast being included, the receptionist stated that he found something in which I was correct, that breakfast was in fact included in my hotel room rate.

I dont know if this was an honest mistake on the front receptionists part of he was trying to scam me and get an additional 26 Euros out of me for breakfast!

Other than this individual incident, the hotel stay was nice. The highlight was the breakfast, very good food and a nice variety.

This sounds like a little thing but there are a lot of guests that don't like the very thin pillows and small individual blankets. It would be great if the hotel would invest in some North American King-Size duvet and pillow sets. After all, some couples still like each other.

Beautiful grand hotel on the park

It was a pleasure staying at this beautiful hotel in the heart of Bad Homburg. Old world decor that looks like it was built yesterday. Great place to just hang out and enjoy the ambiance. The room was gorgeous and even had a balcony. Included in the large room was a well stocked refrigerator, coffee maker, desk. The large bathroom even included a bidet. Free parking was scarce but if you were willing to walk a few blocks then you might find one. You could park in the hotel parking garage for $25 euro per day with in and out privileges or in the evening you could park on the street in front of the hotel from 7pm to 7am for free.
Lots of shopping close by and there was a beautiful park right across the street. Didn't get a chance to try the 25 euro breakfast but I hear it was worth it. Definitely staying here next time I'm in the area.

Outstanding hotel in a beautiful town.

The best hotel in town. The only slight glitch was a male bar waiter who chased me thinking I hadn't paid, when i had already settled the bill with hisnfrmale colleague. Clearly better training required.

Even though this hotel has been renovated not too long ago it does not seem to get enough traffic and therefore appears deserted and sad. It is even hard to find the staff. They seem to disappear in this hotel. Also, I asked for a coffee in the afternoon and short of going into the kitchen, it felt like nobody knew how to fill my request. I had dinner at the bar because the restaurant was closed (never understood why) and the couple at a neighboring table let the food go back s it did not seem fresh or warm enough. Mine meal was fine but nothing to write home about. The breakfast was equally mediocre. While there were many choices I questioned the quality (given the price). Not enough waiters tending to the tables and, again, no host/hostess when you first come in.

The perfect place in a beautiful village

I want to return as soon as possible.
Our room was a mini palace and we didn't want to leave!
The spa spacilities were nice and quiet.
I wouldn't stay anywhere else.
It's a special place with character and warmth.
The manager was very very sweet and gave us an upgrade, we couldn't have asked for anything else. Our 9 year old daughter said \"mama can we live here?\"

Don't hesitate to book this hotel, you'll be so happy that you did.
