Hotel Carignano is a perfect hotel to stay in with their great staff, easy check in, a location that is very amenable to the walled old town Lucca (tip: free parking at Piazzale Don Franco Baroni. It's less than 5 minutes walk to the walls from there.) The breakfast buffet has ample and a variety of foods to select from. A truly great hotel to stay in and enjoy all that Lucca has to offer!!

The reception wanted to keep our passports overnight, I said no and she copied them and gave them to me. The wifi didn't work in the room. She said that since I was on vacation it was of little importance. The coffee maker at breakfast didn't work so we went to the bar for coffee. She said the bar coffee was better so I should be silent.

Lovely staff and great pool.

We sadly only stayed 1 night here as we were on route to Umbria. Such friendly staff and a great pool for the boys! I would definitely recommend this hotel. Despite being on the periphery of Lucca it was perfect for a quick breather. The staff made the hotel even better as they were really friendly and welcoming. There is a good, well priced restaurant attached to the hotel where we are well and without spending vast sums. Well worth a visit!

The website does not make clear that neither the swimming pool nor the air conditioning are available until June at the earliest making for a very uncomfortable stay in May when the rooms are too hot to sleep.

Reasonable and Good Value for the Money.

If you like staying in a countryside atmosphere, this is a very nice choice. It's fairly close to Lucca and it's very reasonable. The rooms are a bit dated, but have everything you need. It's not a luxury place, but good value for the money.

Nice hotel, quiet area

We cl is it's Toscana and wanted to be in a place that had easy access to main highways to travel around. This hotel was great because it can è central point to many cities nearby besides Lucca; either for driving or cycling.
Restaurants are located mainly in Lucca (5' drive) and parking could be time consuming so plan accordingly.
Pool was nice and spacious. Beds clean. We enjoyed our family stay !!

A good hotel, staff was very friendly and location good. It is however, several miles outside of Lucca, which the description of the location does not state. You definitely need a car - biking seems a bit dangerous.

great plsce to stay

We came as a family of 4 with young kids. The fact that the hotel has a restaurant is a great advantage if you come back from a long day and want a close place to have dinner. The room looks and feel like a higher class hotel room. The hotel area is beautiful. Just to the left of the hotel there is a great mountain road. Breakfast was also of a higher class hotels. Pitty the pool was out of order. Stuff is very friendly and know English well.

Good breakfast, easy to reach the city center, very good price. There's a excellent restaurant there, one of the best you can find there. Very convenient and not expensive. Staff very friendly and speaks good english. Must have a car. Free parking lot at the hotel.

Basic - inexpensive, clean and safe

You will need a car to go to Lucca.

Breakfast was OK with good coffee and some fresh fruit. The restaurant (located in the same building) was also quite good.

This was a lovely hotel with an excellent restaurant. We enjoyed our stay very much. Had no issues, beds were pretty standard for the area, it's not a luxury hotel, but that's ok. The area was beautiful and the restaurant was delicious.

Great little get away

We are an American family of 4 that just moved to Naples. We drove to this hotel for 3 nights. Very courteous staff and willing to help with directions. We knew from other reviews that the pool was small, it is an above ground pool that should be in someone's backyard, not a hotel pool.That said, my kids,ages 9 & 5 loved it anyway. At least we could cool off. The room still had space to walk around even though there was a queen bed, roll away and sofa bed. Housekeeping replaced a burned out light immediately. The breakfast buffet was ample and you woke up to the smell of fresh pastries. We ate dinner at the restaurant once and it was very good with good prices, locals go there. The wild boar stew is a favorite, as is the mushroom risotto. Only 10 minutes to the walled city of Lucca, I would definitely go back.

This hotel was just ok. I was only in Lucca for 1 night to see a concert. I had to be back by 12-12:15am so i missed the last song of the concert which i wasn't too happy about!

Family friendly

We are a family of 4 and stayed in one room for two nights. Room was quite big enough for the four of us and a balcony was a nice addition. Breakfast was disappointing, but then breakfast is not a big thing in Italy - I gather!. The pool is one of those above ground types so not really for lounging by all day, but fine to cool off after a days sightseeing or to keep the kids happy for an hour. It is accessed via the car park which is a bit \"odd\" . The hotel is a short drive from Lucca so not walkable but we liked the location and the ambience. Decent enough hotel for the price!

Hotel pulito e moderno. La stanza è spaziosa, luminosa e ben arredata. Bagno ampio e moderno con doccia. Personale cortese e disponibile. Zona periferica e tranquilla a circa 5 km dal centro facilmente raggiungibile in 10 minuticon l'auto. La colazione a buffet è continentale con buon assortimento di prodotti dolci e salati offerta in una sala spaziosa ed accogliente. Un appunto lo faccio in merito alla preparazione dei prodotti che, esclusa la bella presentazione, nonostante fossero le 7.45 ho trovato in alcuni casi molto freddiuova sode, il pane (forse non ancora ben scongelato), le brioche anche un po secche (forse non fresche). Avendo soggiornato una sola giornata, forse abbiamo avuto solo una piccola sfortuna.
Comunque una struttura da consigliare.

La piscine est très bien. La literie est bien mais peut mieux faire et les salles de bains sont à rénover. Mais je crois qu ils sont en train de tout rénover. Donc si vous voyers nouvelle salle de bain allez y c est super

Lang weekend i Lucca.

Fint og rent hotell. De ansatte var behjelpelig med det vi spurte om. Lite møblerte rom , og ingen mulighet for å sitte der. Kunne gjerne hatt glass på rommene.
Dessverre var det veiarbeid i området, så planlagte utflukter med buss utgikk. Umulig å få taxi tilbake til hotellet fra Lucca sentrum, noe som resulterte i en 6 km lang gåtur i mørket.

Dejligt sted med et fint pool. Personalet var meget imødekommende. De var i gang med maling og renovering - uden at det har generet os. Det er et meget fint sted - når man ikke forventer dansk morgenmad (det får man aldrig i IT)

A third-class hotel

A third-class hotel. The room we had no window to the outside, the pool area is photoshopped. No wi-fi in the room. The entire interior was made back in the 90´s or even 80´s.....Breakfast - not to mention. Overall a bad experience.

Confortável e simpático

O hotel está a cerca de 10 minutos de carro do centro de Lucca, e conta com estacionamento gratuito.
O quarto é confortável, com varanda, o chuveiro é fantástico e o café da manhã, simples. Jantamos na noite anterior no hotel (menu com primeiro e segundo pratos, sobremesa e bebida) por 20 euros por pessoa e a comida estava deliciosa, especialmente o ravioli e o linguini.
Destaque para o excelente atendimento dos funcionários.
O único ponto negativo ficou para o preço: reservei com mais de três meses de antecedência, mas simulando no dia da chegada o preço estava 20% inferior ao que paguei inicialmente, mesmo com o hotel quase lotado devido a uma excursão.

Goede prijs/kwaliteit

Het hotel ligt vrij ver van het centrum van Lucca en zonder auto geraak je hier moeilijk. Het personeel is zeer vriendelijk en het ontbijt is in orde, echte espresso alleen te verkrijgen tegen extra betaling. Het grote pluspunt is het zwembad waar je enkele uren voor en na je boeking probleemloos terechtkan. Het sanitair is wat verouderd maar de algemene netheid viel goed mee.

Man får vad man betalar för

Vi valde detta boende för närheten till Pisa airport på väg hem. Höjdpunkten var mottagandet av en supertrevlig receptionist, men efter incheckning var hotellet obemannat. Rummet litet och uteplatsen fick oss att känna oss som intagna på ett fängelse med en minimal rastgård med tre meter höga väggar och man kunde därmed endast se himlen. Frukost ganska tråkig. Allmänna utrymmen och Wifi bra.
