This was a beautiful property. 1.2 miles to the old town center. The spa shown on the photos is an extra charge of 20 Euros per person for 1.5 hours with 24 hour notice. Overall very comfortable and a nice breakfast.

Beautiful refurbished older mansion turned into a charming B&B. The on site secure parking was a big plus. The entire team attending to guests was extremely helpful and friendly. Everyone always shared a warm smile and sincere greeting. Staff was at the ready with suggestions and helpful advice. Excellent coffee at breakfast. We stayed in the Puccini suite which had a balcony overlooking Viale G. Puccini. The room was large, clean, and comfortable. Elevator for those requiring a lift. The location is very near Lucca's walled old town. You could drive (best to avoid that option unless you must), bus, or if you wish to get in a few extra steps, an easy 15 minute walk will get you to the Porta Sant'Ana entrance. There are some dining options in the neighborhood as well. Be aware that on Saturdays there is a mercato that sets up in front of the property and goes all day. You will want to move your vehicle to a side street the night before or risk not being able to drive off property. We were kindly given a heads up.

I really could not fault our stay at this lovely hotel. The staff were really amazing and really went the extra mile to make you welcome. Kindly extended the checkin when our train was late. Thank you especially John Lucca who found my lost ring after emptying the vacuum cleaner!
Breakfast was great set in a lovely garden room. Bathroom was modern and clean despite the lovely old charm of the hotel.
Only 5/10 mins taxi ride from train station. 20 mins walk into the lovely old town. Just one thing is you do have to book the spa ahead if you want it. Hadn’t realised that before booking. Thoroughly recommend it.

We had a lovely 3 night stay here. The breakfast had nice \"buffet\" options. The staff were super friendly and helpful. We loved the remote controlled gated parking that allowed us to come and go as we pleased. It also gave us peace of mind that the car was safe since we kept some luggage in the car as we were traveling throughout Italy. It is an easy 15 minute walk to the old city of Lucca as this hotel is sitauted outside the city walls. I also highly recommend renting bikes since there is a bike path infront of the hotel that goes directly into town where you can bike the entire wall of the city. Lucca is a magical and majestic place. Enjoy!

Beautifully appointed hotel with small but helpful staff and unique decor oozing with Italian charm. Hotel is outside the city walls but it was easy to walk to Lucca's old town to wander its maze of streets and discover the many piazzas, restaurants, cafés and shops there.

Check in nightmare - Sleep on the street

Primeira noite eu dormi na RUA, porque não tem recepção neste Hotel depois das 7pm.
Cheguei na cidade por volta das 9:30pm e liguei para confirmar que chegaria em 30minutos mas não me deram nenhuma opção a não ser esperar o dia seguinte!
No dia seguinte tive que agendar a retirada das chaves as 4:30pm e ainda sim fiquei esperando 15 minutos (ou seja, não fica ninguem na recepção depois do meio dia).
Perdi a primeira noite e dormi lá as outras duas noites.
Se vc quer se hospedar numa casa com valor de hotel mas que não tem funcionarios durante a tarde e noite, que vc precisa agendar horario de chegada e dormir num quarto mofado, esse é o lugar!
Durante a noite é um breu! Tem mtos hoteis na cidade, não escolham esse! Lindo por fora, tem estacionamento mas o resto nao vale a pena!

A must-stay property when in Lucca

This beautiful property was wonderfully maintained and excellent services. Our room was very spacious, and always meticulously cleaned daily. The staff were always so willing to help and offered excellent suggestions when asked questions. Location was great, only 10-15 min walk to Centro Storico. They also had bikes you could rent for a fee that would get you there even quicker. Very happy and will recommend this to family and friends.

In addition, we were told that we would not be receiving the free breakfast that was clearly mentioned in the first few sentences of the description of the property on Expedia. Right up there with the nightly rate, and free parking. I was told that I had not chosen that option when I chose the room. Since I was doing this on my phone APP, I saw a limited screen shot and it sure looked like I was getting a room with free WIFi, Parking and Breakfast. I was very upset to learn that I had to pay for breakfast each morning.
The second night we were there, no attendent was there when we returned to room at 5:30, and then for the rest of the evening. Although the young man had previously told us we had the use of the sitting room, TV and garden room, these rooms were actually roped off so we would not enter them.
The towels were not changed so the towels from that morning were still there and wet. Later I found a note tucked up in the corner on a hook over the bidet saying we were supposed to leave our towels in a certain place is we wanted them replaced.

This is a wonderful gem of a hotel located a ten-minute walk from the city wall. The staff is very friendly, a great section of breakfast options is given (just don't expect bacon or sausage, but they do have cold cuts), the back terrace is peaceful, and the price - for what you get - is very reasonable. Highly recommended.

As others have said, this is more of a B&B than a hotel but that’s a positive feature in my opinion. The staff were all lovely and went out of their way to ensure that we had a good time.

The breakfast was simple but there was something for everybody and it was very tasty. We had to walk into Lucca for dinner but it was only a 15/20 stroll and we didn’t have any difficulty finding somewhere nice with availability.

The property felt very secure, with swipe cards to get in and out, as well as room keys. That was probably OTT as the surrounding area felt very safe but it was reassuring nevertheless.

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay here. The staff were incredibly friendly. The property was conveniently located near the Lucca Centro but also very quiet. We stayed during the low season and it was like we had the whole place to ourselves. The room was very clean and they put out a full breakfast for just us. During our stay my wife had medical situation, she had back pain and could not move at all. Hotel staff strongly suggested us go to see the doctor immediately, which is Sunday morning the most un-convenient time, therefore hotel staff called the ambulance went to the emergency department of local hospital. They also gave us a room for 2 extra days so my wife had complete rest to helping her recovery.

Suite was a large room but bed was uncomfortable with hard mattress. The owner was very nice but the lady working the following morning was not very attentive. We waited 15 minutes for coffee and the coffee station was not self serve. The lady was not very nice to guests and seemed bothered to have to fix coffee.

The grounds were nice, the room was clean. Did not like key card entry to the building and controlling power, hence was unable to charge any devices while off the property. Breakfast was sparse, coffee was excellent. No customer service as staff was not present except at check in for a few minutes and to prepare morning coffee. The toiletries looked like they were decades old -- not what I would expect in a property of this caliber.

The staff, particularly Ilenya, are attentive, respectful, and very responsive. I liked the linens - they are a nice quality, and the pillow cases were pressed. The terrace was very pleasant, and was a nice place to relax after a day walking. The front rooms do get street noise, but with windows closed, it's quiet. Overall, a great place to stay, and within a 15-minute walk to the wall.

It was a well appointed room. They had on-site secure parking. The breakfast was good with coffee made per your order which was nice. We realized that we could order eggs cooked to our liking but there was no signage or mention of that possibility. Unfortunately we only noticed that someone was being served as we were finishing. We arrived after check-in time and there was no one to greet us so we waited for approx. 15 minutes in a very small entry with a couple of uncomfortable chairs which was unusual and barely a hello when the staff member did show up. Not our usual B&B experience while traveling 2 months throughout Italy. Sorry, but overall it was a “meh” for us. Loved Lucca!!

This was the most wonderful stay, the property has a deck, hot tub, great breakfast, wonderful rooms and is always super clean. The staff was so, so helpful and even drove us to the bus when we left. This is a five star place to stay and I would stay there again when in Lucca. it is close to the bus ticket office and the wall. The whole experience there was wonderful!!!

Wonderful hotel and the friendliest staff. Very helpful on arrival, explained all hotel facilities and provided us with lots of information about the town and what to visit/where to eat.
The rooms were very comfortable and spotless. Cleaned every day, with fresh towels provided. The breakfast was also very good, with many choices available.
The hotel is in a perfect location, only a ten minute walk to reach inside the city walls, as well as the train station with direct and regular trains to Pisa, Florence and coastal towns.
This hotel is perfect if you want a great, friendly, quiet base while exploring the surrounding areas.
Would definitely choose to stay here again and would highly recommend.

This lovely hotel had old Italian charm, features and style, combined with modern comforts. Lovely bathroom, and had small fridge, telly and air conditioning. The staff were so welcoming and the breakfast superb. A little further away from the walled city than Boone would like, but there was a car park.

My son and I stayed at this hotel for 1 night out the 3 on our visit to Tuscany as we were flying out of Pisa the following morning. The hotel has a good mix of old and new furnishings and décor. Fabulous bathrooms though a wee bit small. Just the right amount of choice at breakfast in a pleasant conservatory. Also a very spacious terrace for sitting out or relaxing on a sun lounger with a drink from the bar service at reception. Thoroughly enjoyed our short stay and would like to return in the near future

Located about 1/2 mile outside walled city that enters directly into the west gate. Easy flat walk passing pastry, pizza, and gelato shops along the way. The rooms are exquisitely decorated with modern amenities among antique furniture. Very modern bathroom fixtures and shower. The morning dining includes cookies, croissants, cakes, cereals, cheeses, meats and yogurts with eggs made on request. We enjoyed the outdoor terrace for afternoon reading and relaxing. The staff booked our trips for us and very delightful to visit with during the day. A magnetic key system allowed entrance to the back gate during times the staff were gone, nights and two hours in the afternoon. A very secure place in a nice neighborhood. We did not use the spa pool which was reserved at an extra cost. A non smoking hotel with smoking only out on the terrace. There is an elevator. We highly recommend this boutique hotel for those who prefer quiet elegance in a bustling city.

For my first visit to Lucca this place turned out to be perfect with the 15 mins walk to the centre. Bicycles were also available at the house. The staff made you feel very welcome. They were helpful at all times. Nice typical Italian breakfast and the place was spotless throughout my stay.

Our fabulous visit started with our host, Patricia, picking us up at the train station with a smile and warm greetings. Upon entering the Azzurro Maison de Charme, we, again, knew this was going to be special because of the beauty of the entry, the warmth of the staff and were so helpful with information. Then up the \"cute\" elevator to our room which felt like a 5* star room. The linens are gorgeous, the draperies are exquisite and the bathroom luxurious with tile not only on the floor but on the walls...extremely tasteful. Breakfast was 'over-the-top' generous and delicious. I am gluten intolerant and each morning there was a basket of gluten free options. It was especially nice to be within walking distance of the walled city of Lucca. One day we rented bikes from Azzurro Maison de Charme and rode to Lucca and rode around the city on the wall. After we returning, we went to the patio and enjoyed reading a resting...felt like home. It was great fun! We would return in a minute; in fact, will plan to in the future.

A charming hotel in an equally charming city

A lovely hotel with rooms named after famous composers born in Lucca. Adjacent to the public transit making it very easy and extremely cheap to get back and forth between the train station and hotel. Wonderfully warm and welcoming staff.

Perfecto!

Maison de Charme is exactly that, charming, friendly, comfortable with stylish decor and facilities ranging from modern spa to fabulous breakfast. It has a covered and open veranda and the rooms are more than adequate with air-conditioning, coffee machine and kettle on request plus a classy bathroom and free WIfi. I loved my stay there and would definately recommend it to anyone thinking of staying there. The owners and staff are lovely and are extremely helpful and obliging. Situated just 10 minutes outside the city wall with the bus depot handy for trips to surrounding areas. Definately picked the perfect place for my holiday in Lucca.

A really lovely B and B a short walk from the city ramparts. Comfortable bedrooms, modern bathrooms. The breakfast was excellent and the service from all the staff was very friendly, helpful and efficient. We would not hesitate to visit again.

The building was amazing with free parking. Staff very friendly and efficient. Room was spacious and had everything we needed. Breakfast was simple but tasty. We enjoyed our 3 days in Lucca and would stay here again.
