Our second time here. A little eclectic but ticks all our boxes. A 10 minute walk from Termini station. 2 minute walk from the Metro (Vittorio Emanuele). 25 minute walk to Colosseum - or any of the usual spots. Bars, restaurants and mini-marts in the surrounding streets. Nice breakfast. Happy to help staff.

The gym area is not air conditioned so time your workout accordingly. The toilet in our room was emitting sewer gases. It was fine as long as we kept the bathroom door closed but it was not very pleasant to be in the bathroom. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The beds were comfortable. The neighborhood had some great restaurants and was an easy walk to the colosseum and Roman Forum.

Good location, the room was ok but the appearance was old and poor maintenance. The lift is not suitable for old people and women because is It's very cramped and there are two elevators, the first one goes from the reception to the common floor and then there's another elevator that goes from the common floor to the apartments.

The hotel is beautiful and the staff is very helpful. However, I stayed in a single room which had some issues. The room itself was very good, but the bathroom left quite a bit to be desired. The toilet was wedged in a corner between the shower and the bidet - which was very uncomfortable. Plus, it had the smallest shower I have ever seen. I had just finished eight days on a cruise ship, and I didn’t think that showers could get any smaller than that, but this one proved me wrong. I was there with friends who were staying in a regular room and their bathroom was wonderful. So I can only assume it’s the single rooms that have this issue. Other than that, it is a really nice hotel. I would just recommend you get a regular room instead of a single room.

Me gusto bastante el hotel para el precio, no es muy céntrico pero estaba cerca de la estación de tren que me fue muy útil para llegar e irme desde el aeropuerto( 7 euros pp) y no pagar un taxi por 50 euros. El metro pasa enfrente del hotel y los buses a un par de calles. Fuimos a Nápoles y Florencia también , la estación de tren al estar cerca no vino muy bien. El desayuno buffet que tiene un costo adicional al reservar la habitación es muy bueno y el personal muy atento. Lo único malo fue la caja fuerte, avían dos abecés funcionaban bien y abecés no , tuve que llamar para solucionar el problema varias veces pero se volvía a repetir el problema así que desistí y las camas eran un poco duras para mi gusto pero eso es a gusto de cada persona . En resumen si volvería porque a mi esposa y a mi nos gusto la zona con muchos restaurantes y terrazas cerca para compartir después de una larga jornada de caminar y recorrer roma

When we arrived our standard twin room ended up being a queen bed and a roll cot. Not impressed at all and after an uncomfortable sleep that required putting 4 pillows on the cot, I let the staff know the room situation was unsatisfactory. They immediately found us another room and comped our breakfast. I appreciated the fast, friendly and respectful way we were treated after I lodged my complaint.

Getting up and down to the rooms is a bit of an issue for older people with 2 different small elevators and some stairs in between the elevators.

Some variety in the breakfast buffet would be good.

The family room layout and furniture worked well for our family of four. It had one king bed and two twin beds, plus a desk and a couple of chairs. The room had a wall AC unit that kept the room at a very comfortable temperature, but the unit itself was a bit noisy at times. I only had two complaints about the room. Firstly, the pillows were very flat and I found them uncomfortable, but that is personal preference. Second, while the room met our needs, I did expect it to be a bit nicer with the 4 star rating. The breakfast worked out well and the location of the hotel was convenient. We arrived in Rome by train and were able to walk to the hotel
from the Termini station. There is also an entrance to the metro line A right outside the door of the hotel. This is convenient for traveling to the area of Vatican City and other sites. We were able to walk to the Trevi fountain and Spanish Steps one afternoon (about 3.5 miles in total) and we also walked to the Colloseum. Overall, the hotel worked well for us, but my expectations of the room may have been a bit high.

Great if you spoke Italian and were familiar with European lifestyle. Not recommended for tourists. Unfortunately I was with a handicapped person who booked there believing the elevator would be as accessible as an American style one. Nope : 4 steps to elevator with maybe 24 inch wide door that went up to Lounge area and then up 4 more steps to a second elevator that was 2 more steps up from that to another one that was no larger than the first. Couldn’t get her in her wheelchair into elevator at all. They held maybe 2 people standing fully upright if with little or no luggage. Small rooms minimal amenities.

We had an amazing stay the Napoleon hotel! It was steps from the Metro and after a day or so of getting used to it we were able to travel all over the city. The staff was attentive and the rooms were clean. The breakfast was better than expected and had a wide array of different dishes to choose from. Our shower was small but we had a nice balcony, others in our party had no balcony and a bigger shower. So it must be one or the other? Even so it was a great stay and I’d stay there again in a heartbeat!

Traditional Roman hotel. Old world charm mixed with some modern conveniences. Great location, across from a park.
Staff was very friendly and helpful (except for 1 person)
The room was good sized and well appointed. The mattress however had 2 craters with a mound in the middle.

Breakfast was a bit disappointing. There was a wonderful display of pastries, breads, and fruit. However, what appeared to be boxed eggs were usually runny and on the cold side.

This hotel is well located and has great staff and a wonderful buffet breakfast. The cute elevators will 'floor' you! This is a great choice - we felt very safe in the hotel - outside it can be a little 'rougher' at night, but that is the same way I feel in Toronto. Personally, I wish that the hotels had conditioner as well as shampoo, but I guess we're spoiled in Canada. The front reception staff were so helpful and we had a wonderful experience. The driving is a whole other matter - take a taxi or walk to the bus stops - the scooters are everywhere so look before you cross any street (yes, they are supposed to stop for you but would you take that chance in your own country?). The hop-on hop-off bus was worth $28 Euros and we saw everything we wanted/needed to see. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Our stay at the Napoleon Hotel was fantastic. If you’re expecting a 5-star hotel, dont stay here. The rooms are pretty small, it has a slightly rundown feeling but we were very well taken care of. Front desk staff were very nice and the rooms were well cleaned each day.

For a budget stay, the amenities were great including a balcony and roof access.

My only real complaint is less about the hotel and more about the location. The good thing about the location is that the metro entrance is directly in front of the hotel. The complaint is that at times, especially at night, the area feels a little unsafe.

Overall, if this hotel fits in your budget stay, I would highly suggest it as a place to stay for your visit in Rome.

Room and the hotel areas are well maintained, cleaned regularly. Staff from the front desk to the dining area are very helpful and friendly , especially at the breakfast area. I did not expect that it will be a heavy breakfast buffet with lots of varieties , Asian, American and Italian food . The manager Noel is so into details, being a multilingual speaking , he interacted with the guests and make sure all their needs are being met, together with his assistants Anthony, Anne and Vincent. These are the gems in the hotel.

I highly recommend this hotel not only because of the above and beyond services ( housekeeping, front desk, bar and breakfast area) but also because it is situated in a prime location if you are looking to see the prestigious landmarks in Rome. The metro station is few steps away from this hotel . Walking distance to the Colosseum, Monti and the St. Mary Major Basilica and lots of places accessible by the metro train B. Also few blocks away from the Termini Station ( where the Leonardo Express train station is located) . We feel safe to walked around the area despite the fact it is in the heart of the city.

This was our first visit in Rome. We truly enjoyed our stay and had a fantastic experience daily, starting our day with lovely music in the dining area and enjoying the sumptuous breakfast , made our day on the go for the entire day!

The room was small but was cold and comfortable for the most part. The bathroom was a bit uncomfortable/small but did the job. The staff was very helpful. Breakfast was good, nothing special but lots of options and tasted good.

Area around the hotel did have a bit of homeless people at night. But we never had any problems and felt safe the entire time. We even walked from the coliseum past midnight and felt safe.

Overall I would stay here again I had no problems

Steps and elevators are a bit of a pill if you have anyone with disabilities. One reason I cannot give it 5 stars.
Steps to get to the first elevator that leads to the 1st floor. Then there are more steps to reach the second elevator, which leads to the hotel room floors.

Breakfast was good and worth the cost for the convenience.

The hotel's location was excellent, and if you are a walker, there are many places you can reach on foot. There is a park right across the street from the hotel that is really nice and relaxing. Others in my group went and enjoyed nature in the middle of the city. Decent shopping & food options near, and a Money Exchange just one block down. It is a type of bank and they offered a good conversion rate with only a 15 euro charge for the transaction. Goiogle search did not have it and I just happened to find it.

The rooms were quaintly decorated, very clean, all the amenities, modern bathroom. The food service was high quality and reasonably priced, the staff was exceptional. There's a beautiful curved marble staircase you need to climb for one floor to reach the elevators, not great for those with mobility issues but passing through the lounge on the way to the elevator gave the feel that you were walking through an 18th century palace. It was very nice. And very quiet.

The hotels website advertises itself as a 4 star hotel. The hotel is at best a 2 star. It is in need of paint, the furniture is beat up, chipped. The carpets are beaten down. The rooms are a ghost of what they show in the photos. It’s also in a rundown area-the train station is not in a great area. The towels were old and scratchy and only one bath towel was provided. I have never been in a shower that small, I’m a woman on the thin side and it was crowded for me. The window in the bathroom was incapable of closing. The one bright spot was the breakfast which was great. Don’t ask for a to go breakfast, it’s just prepackaged bread and an apple. There is also no coffee tea service in the rooms. I got far better hotels in Barcelona, Nice and Genoa on this trip for the same price.

The couple different items they had in the chafing dishes were cold. Toaster took forever to heat up a piece of bread. Lots of little different choices to choose from when it came to dolce’s. But of poor quality.
The coffee machine was broken so the extra one they had was very busy. Alexander the bartender was great. He can make an excellent cocktail. I feel bad for him as he was the bartender and the cook if someone ordered food.
Great location but definitely not worth what they charge.

Very disappointed with this hotel. Its layout is odd and awkward; you have to take one tiny elevator to get you to the lounge level, then another tiny elevator to your actual floor, all while dragging your luggage because there is no Bell Hop. Rooms needed maintenance and updating. Maid service left dirty towels on the floor twice!

The best thing about the hotel is the air conditioning. When the weather was 76° F , i always came back in the hotel, turned on the air conditioning and the room started to cool down. The staff was helpful about how to find my room and is always welcoming whenever i pass by them.
Its also close to a train stop, so you can literally just leave the hotel and explore Rome in a matter of seconds!

We stayed for a week in March ‘26 in a quad room with 3 beds. Everything in the room was super clean and tidy, and the daily cleaning was a big plus. Lots of towels of great sizes. I liked how the windows could open and the room was very spacious for the 3 of us. Beds were comfortable and large. Loved the extra seating and drawers in the closet.
Breakfast was amazing every morning and made a huge difference in our cost, so we didn’t have to buy breakfast out. Eggs and meat with lots of pastries and fruit and juices and coffee and tea. Truly anything you’d want and made fresh there. Ample seating and space, never felt crowded.
The location is amazing! Steps from a metro entrance! The closest to a metro I’ve ever stayed, felt so lucky to be near! Walking distance from major basilicas and even the Colosseum. One stop away from Termini, and you could walk there as well. The best location ever!
Appreciated the elevator, the lobby bathrooms, the water filling stations, AC in the room, and super kind staff. 5 stars to all!
Just a few small notes, only if I’m picky: there was only one spot in the room to plug in a universal plug, which wasn’t near the beds. An option there would be been great. There were small nicks in the title in the bathroom, and broken pieces to the radiator, all minor.

There was false advertising on the website. Itbdoesbt have an Italian restaurant, uses plastic straws and is not wheelchair friendly as there are stairs and the smallest entrance to the lifts.

My room had very tired furniture and an extremely small shower cubicle. Cleaners came in every day with clean towels and sheets. Bed okay as was rest of bathroom space

Great staff but hotel is lacking. The location is good for travel but the area itself seemed very run down with lots of grafitti, dirty and people living on the streets begging. The underground metro is just metres from the hotel which is handy but keep close eye on your surroundings as my husband was targetted by a pick pocket as we walked up the stairs from the metro back to the hotel. He felt something tugging on his coat and his pocket being opened, luckily he realised in time so the thief didnt manage to take anything. We did not see him coming but from what we're told, this is very a common thing to happen.
The hotel itself was staffed well, staff very helpful and friendly, the rooms were cleaned daily and when we needed some help with an issue, it was dealt with promptly. It states there is a gym but we we're told it is currently under repair. We found the gym on the top floor, it was full of tables and chairs and so not a gym at all but set out as a conference/meeting room. Breakfast with ok, pastries etc were nice but all cooked foods such as eggs and bacon were not kept on hot plates so cold by time they were being eaten. Overall we had a good trip to Rome, but would pick a different hotel/location next time.

The first person I spoke with was rude because I was overcharged, and he was consistently reluctant to assist me with this concern. Also, my friend and I requested double beds and were given a queen-size bed. We then had to wait until the next day to be placed in the correct room. I'm still dealing with trying to get my money back. They do not do refunds or date changes, so please be mindful! Also, they do have an option for a drive to pick you up, and it's 75 euros, so keep that in mind as well!
