It was clean and ready when we arrived. The breakfast room is delightful, breakfast was great, and Lucia makes amazing cappucinos and helped with whatever we needed.

We stayed in the family room on the 1st floor.perfectly clean and brilliant staff at breakfast.They were always happy to help you.asked for boiled eggs for the baby and next day they made them available.about 10 mins easy walk from the lucca train station.brilliantly accesible.

We had a wonderful stay in Lucca. The property was clean, comfortable, and beautifully kept, with a welcoming atmosphere that made us feel at home right away. The location was excellent, making it easy to explore Lucca and enjoy the city’s lovely streets, shops, and restaurants.

The hosts were friendly, helpful, and attentive, always making sure we had everything we needed for a pleasant stay.

I stayed in the twin room as a solo traveler - very comfortable bed and roomy bathroom as noted in other reviews. Having breakfast available was a nice option. I tried to get a hold of the host twice during my stay - once via WhatsApp re renting a bike and once via Expedia about bag storage - neither inquiry received any response. I’m very surprised other guests found the staff so helpful honestly. I had no interaction besides entrance instructions.

This wonderful small hotel is located on a quiet street five minutes away from Piazza Napoleone. It is in a historic building and has a lot of character. The bathroom is very modern and had a good selection of toiletries.

The staff is super friendly and welcoming, they serve a great continental breakfast every morning.

You can walk to all the places of interest easily, as well as to the train station and to the bus hub in Piazzale Verdi.

I would definitely recommend this hotel and would happily stay here again !

No problem checking in after dark. The laundry that was advertised was full of dirty linens. The kitchen was full of half empty food boxes. The remnants from that day’s breakfast were still on the sideboard.
The next morning, a large amount of the very old gap filler for the roof and dust had fallen into our bed. Yuck.
Alternative accommodation was found for us at another B&B in town. Not a fan. Spoilt our experience of Lucca and B&B in general.

Perfect close to town sites and very comfortable king bed with single bed up a ladder above. Big bathroom which is rare in Italy. Host was so helpful with all our tourist queries.

After a crowded day in Florence, our overnight in Lucca was restful and relaxing. The beds were very comfortable and breakfast was great. I would definitely stay again!

Lucca is quite compact once you're used to it and there are some good restaurants near. The room was lovely and clean and very good en suite. There was a bit of noise outside at night and the bed was very squeaky despite being new. Although we ultimately didn't use the kitchen area I believe it was possible. No email arrived with entry instructions which was very worrying. In the end we had to phone Lucia to get access when we were there. Breakfast was simple, very sweet Italian pastries, cereal, meats and cheese (but on the same plate which was a problem for this vegetarian) and could've done with some fruit. No tea facilities in the room but this was possible from a coffee machine in the breakfast area.

Great service, lovely pastries for breakfast

This was a lovely place to stay in Lucca. Check-in was via a keycode entry, which can be a little annoying. This was especially difficult here for another guest I observed late at night when it was dark who couldn't see the small sign. Whilst I prefer a staff member to check me in, it was easy enough. The breakfast pastries were excellent, as were the staff there to help. I asked to use an iron for my shirt as I was attending a wedding and the wonderful lady offered to iron it for me! So great.

Stunning B&B in the heat of Lucca

Excellent location close to train station and within the walls of Lucca. Excellent service- Lucia was an amazing host, and went out of her way to make us feel comfortable. Breakfast was excellent... pastries and cheesecake for breakfast was decadent.

Perfect place to stay in Lucca!

This is quite possibly the best hotel experience we've had! The location is superb, the building and the room itself are spacious and beautifully furnished, and everything is sparkling clean. Above all, Lucia is an amazing host; she prepared us a great breakfast and gave us useful recommendations to visit and enjoy Lucca. Would definitely stay at Pergola House again!

Unhappy experience with booking

We booked the roomn last minutes through Hotels.com website. Our booking time was 7PM，all booking procedure was smooth without warning we have missed the check in time. But we made paytment, the information showed the B&B's check in time is only until 6PM. It already too late for check in, The Hotels.com shows non-refundable, we contact both the website and host of the B&B, Hotels.com can not refund us, the host charge heft fee for opening door for us for our late check in.

This is the worst place we have ever stayed. The shower was horrible. Hardly any pressure and no shorter curtain or door. Our room was open at the top to the staircase leading downstairs so we heard all the noise from the common area. It was dark and small. No lift and a long walk upstairs carrying luggage. Not enjoyable at all. The breakfast was the only good thing. It was a great breakfast. Would not recommend this place at all.

This was a wonderful place to stay. I was there five nights--longer than anyone else during that time, and I really saw and experienced Lucca. Puccini concerts every night!!! Lucia was very attentive and helpful. Room was larger than most that I've stayed in in Italy. Breakfast was mostly sweets and really delicious, although it could have more variety and protein, such as eggs and meats. I would highly recommend Pergola.

Lucca B & B in historic district

This was our first bed and breakfast every and we thoroughly enjoyed it! The home was spacious, comfortable and tastefully decorated. Our room was a nice size with a brand new en-suite bathroom. Our hostess, Lucia, arranged by email to meet us when the train arrived and served us a fantastic breakfast the next morning. The property is located on a quiet square in the historic district, convenient to attractions and restaurants. Be sure to rent bikes and ride the city walls! This will be my first choice next time I visit Lucca,

It was nice staying there. My only problem was a design of the door to my room. Because there was a large gap (a few feet in height) between the top of the door and the ceiling, the sounds of people in the hallway were magnified, even with there being a separate door to the sleeping area. Mine was the only room with this design issue.
Other than that, I was a good stay, close to restaurants and the train, etc.

Beautiful B&B

A beautiful B&B in Lucca. Located in a quiet street across from a church. Easy to walk to from the station and other attractions. There is a self service laundry near by. You get keys to the entrance, I had no problem in using these. Room was very clean. Lovely bathroom. The shower was not too small (like most Italian hotels) and worked well. The breakfast was good. The usual meats and sweets. Free water x2 provided in the room and a kettle and tea bags. No mini fridge. No TV but this is not missed in this beautiful city. Only suggestion for improvement was the bed. It was quite noisy to move on, however did not dramtically affect my stay. Would definitely stay here again.

Had a splendid stay at Pergola B&B. Traveling on my own I felt safe in Lucca and the areas surrounding the B&B which is vey central for everything in the old town of Lucca. The hostess Lucia was very nice - and the breakfast included was good (more than you get elsewhere Italian wise). Would definitely recommend this and also stay here again should I ever revisit Lucca - which I hope. Such a nice and cosy city.

Lovely and charming

Wonderful place to stay. The building is a charming, old house, the ceiling is hugh and the old furniture gives you all the magic you need. Nice view over the center of Lucca, nice persons at the breakfast table, cozy and familiar.

L'esperienza e' stata positiva. Sono stata bene e l'accoglienza è stata molto buona. Lucia la ragazza della reception è molto disponibile e attenta alle esigenze dei clienti.
L'unica nota dolente è che nel costo a notte erano previste le pulizie giornaliere (che non sono state fatte) e un televisore con canali digitali (che non funzionava). Mi sarei aspettata una riduzione del costo giornaliero cosa che purtroppo non c'è stata.
