I use the third-party to reserve my room. Once I get to property, they don’t have the room that I reserve ..so I had to end up paying an additional 370 to upgrade because it was me and three children and once I got the suite there was still only one bed in the room so we had to move rooms three times and then I downsized back to a regular two bed standard room and they still charge me the same price!
I was promised a refrigerator they never brought it.

While the location was great, rooms could have been better. It's clear the rooms aren't priority for being maintained properly or updated. While the room I got was waterside, if the rooms were properly cleaned properly, it shouldn't have the odor that they do. Instead of painting the whole bathroom door to match, there was splats of different colored paint where it looks like patch work had been done. Walking thought the casino to check in showed were the money really goes to for maintaining the building. I had friends staying in a different room that wasn't by the water, and they left to find a different room for the night due to the lack of cleanliness, so at least staying in the waterfront rooms means they might get more attention to cleanliness then the others. Wasn't the worst hotel I've stayed at, but definitely not the best either.

Room was terrible. Old, dirty and worn out. Needs to be remodeled or torn down. Very thin walls and no shelter from outside noise. Stayed there a week for work and they never cleaned the room once, even after asking them to. Cancelled the rest of my stay and moved down the street.

No hot water for a shower this morning, plus they charge $100 deposit upon check in. Was told it would taken 7-10 days to get it back after check out. Servers to get a drink while playing are hard to find and when you do find one they seem rude and like they don’t want to be bothered. Room rates are good.

There was no hot water for a shower. Had to bring a cooler and fiil it with ice because there wasnt a mini fridge. The sidewalks had alot of damage and a person could trip easily. Housekeeping staff was very friendly and helpful. Maintenance to the property is subpar

All interior and exterior areas are in a state of disrepair. Floors outside the rooms slant terribly and are made from plywood panels. The floors in the rooms are wavy and have soft spots. Everything needs painted. The girl at the desk just pointed to where our room was located - no directions/no map. On the second day there was a long line at the desk because all room keys in several rooms were programmed for just one night instead of the duration of the stay. Many lights on their signs and facade were burned out. Very run down. I was fooled by them calling it the “New Pioneer”. Nothing new. Nothing renovated. Nothing nice.

May 1st and 2nd they had very loud music broadcast from across the street until 12:30 Friday night and 1:00 Saturday. It was the extremely loud repetitive bass type that shook the room. it was room 646. (Friday evening I asked at the front desk about when we could expect it to quit, they told us 10:00.) When I called them at 11:30, they said they couldn’t do anything about it And that if I wanted to tell anybody else it would have to be the Laughlin Police Department, so tough luck. Other than that the hotel was as expected.

I would strongly caution families and anyone traveling with children before staying at The New Pioneer.

We stayed here while attending a wrestling tournament and the experience was awful from beginning to end.

The bathroom had dead roaches, the room conditions were disappointing, and the environment was not family friendly at all. The only way to access the hotel restaurants was by walking through the casino, which was filled with heavy cigarette smoke. It was overwhelming and absolutely not suitable for children.

The worst part was after checkout. I booked through Expedia and was told my debit card would only be used for a $100 incidental deposit. The next morning I found additional charges totaling around $460 on my card.

When I called the hotel, I was accused of “tampering with smoke detectors” and told I was blacklisted. This accusation was completely false. I never touched a smoke detector and honestly didn’t even notice where one was located. I was barely in the room except to shower and sleep because we spent most of our time at the wrestling tournament.

No proof, photos, documentation, or explanation was provided before charging my card.

Very disappointing experience overall. Definitely would not recommend for families, especially those traveling for youth sports

Nice place to stay. Great central location. Easy walk to all of Laughlin. Stayed in room #809, which was a top floor (3rd) middle unit on the south side of building 6/7/8. Two nights in late-April 2026.

Negatives:
No USB ports. Card key stopped working on second evening, requiring a walk & wait to the front desk. Subjectively, no coffee or tea was provided (we brought our own with travel kettle).

Positives:
Easy check-in. Abundant free parking. Easy exterior access to the rooms (no walking a mile thru a casino, up the elevator, another mile down the corridor, etc.) Room was quiet, clean, & comfortable. Moderate size room with proper desk, chair, & sofa. Water was instant hot with extra strong pressure in the shower. Free Wi-fi worked well. I gave a whole star for providing easy to use EV charging. Five chargers located close to the casino, which are completely free at this point in time. Check-out was easy, just leave the key in the room.

Final thoughts:
I liked this place. It provides good lodging at a good price. And if you own an EV, it's an outstanding value! We'll be back.

For me, clean room and a firm mattress. The room was ok clean, shower tub could have been better, mattress was medium firm, but flat and not worn out.
Too many properties don’t change out their mattress enough, and my sleep suffers from that.
The sign says “New Pioneer Casino”, my question is, what New? The people at reservations are great, restaurant was great, friendly waitress. Bar overlooking the river is as I remember it. Could use a little cleaning up, or updating the atmosphere just a little. Everything else that in between, boring! All the table games have gone Ai, no more human dealers. Old decor, there’s nothing new,

Room was not as advertised. One bed was broken and you were rolling out of it on 1 side. Had to sleep in it diagonally to stop from rolling out of it. There were not enough electrical outlets to charge 3 seperate phones. There was mold in the bathroom ceiling above the tub. Bathroom door wouldn't close properly unless you slammed it...that would disturb others trying to sleep. A/C unit was LOUD, when the fan would turn off it sounded like someone dropping a metal cup to the floor. There wasn't a refrgerater nor coffe pot in the room. The walkway was walking on ply wood...all uneven and nasty wood.Never staying there again! Someone needs to demo that place and start over.

Bathroom needs a hood cleaning. Tub stained, the floor corners in the bathroom were filled with dirt. Mop boards are dusty board as at the headboard of the bed probably had 3 inches of dust on it.
My bed sheets had blood on them. I called the front office. They said we could either switch rooms or change the sheets ourselves and they would furnish the sheets. It was late at night. I had to work today that’s why I was up in that area so I had them bring sheets and I put layers of sheets over top of the bed and slept on that. I’ve called the office today and requested a manager. Call me as a 4:19 PM. No one has called me back. I have pictures of the blood. It looks like maybe someone had a cut. I was changing in the bed and it dripped because I know I wasn’t bleeding.

Location was convenient. Parking was excellent Casino smelled like major smoke. Cute place. Needs some tlc

I go to Laughlin a lot and I love this place for my family, it’s clean, you don’t have to go through a smokey Casino floor with your kids to hit the pool (Pool is great), or wait 10 minutes for an elevator to go outside and get some fresh air 🌳💨 (if you know you know) . The staff is great any security is friendly but always around keeping watch. The “beach” area is very small but it gets the job done for the sand toys and beach vibes. Also I love to bike ride so I like that it’s easy to carry my bike up to my room. Overall it’s a great hotel/casino with a sickass pool and easily accessible rooms.

The inside of the room was very clean and modern and the king bed was huge and comfortable. BUT the towers are separate from the casino so there's no one watching them. Lots of people hanging outside which made it look ghetto. Couple was fighting outside my door at 2am! The door locked but horrible wiggled so it did not make me feel safe when I was there or left. One positive wasn't disturbed by noise.I think that was only because rooms next door were unoccupied though

I love to stay in this hotels for 2 reasons, the main one is that I’m always riding with friends in our motorcycles for the annual mayhem rally and we always stay here cuz the easy access to the room, this is not like the other hotels that you need to park in the parking ar then walk and carry all your stuff to your room, this is very convenient for us specially and this is the second reason is that we always request ground level rooms and I put that on my special request box when I’m booking Through Hotels.com and they always accommodate us in ground level rooms

Digital gambling ???? Buildings are in deplorable condition . Repairs seem substandard . They say room inspection is mandatory on the third day , housecleaning never touched my room until after I left . Lucky for them I was a clean tenant . The ac and heat worked as it should and the showers water pressure was amazing . They have a decent selection of channels for watching tv . I found the restaurant staff offensive the one time I attempted to eat there , I was seated and then never approached for my order after 15 minutes and there were only 3 other patrons at the time but received great service from the Pizza parlor in the same building . Personally I found there beer prices to be rather high . I booked it only because the price was almost unbelievable . Would do it again

I didn’t come to Laughlin most of my adult life. I recently moved here and they are remodeling my home so I chose to stay at the pioneer for the three days. It was gonna take for them to do my kitchen and my floors anyway it was a really nice experience. Nice staff clean rooms although don’t expect any extras in the rooms no blow dryers no refrigerator no microwave no coffee maker but other than that it was a great experience.
