Our experience at Château Eza was nothing short of extraordinary from the moment we arrived. Check‑in was seamless, made even more special by the staff who greeted us at the bottom of the hill, assisted with our bags, and guided us up to the reception area. The walk itself felt like an introduction to the charm of Eze—lined with scenic viewpoints perfect for pausing and taking in breathtaking photos of the Mediterranean Sea.

We were fortunate to spend Christmas Eve dining at the Michelin‑starred Château Eza restaurant, and it was truly a magical experience. The thoughtfully crafted Christmas menu showcased exquisite French cuisine, each course more impressive than the last. Paired with exceptional service and panoramic views of the sea, it became a holiday dinner we will never forget.

Our room was an absolute masterpiece. The blend of vintage furniture with modern bathroom finishes—and the warmth of the fireplaces—created a uniquely cozy and elegant atmosphere, especially fitting for Christmas Eve. We stayed in a two‑floor family suite, ideal for families with children, and the balcony overlooking the sea offered a view that felt like a dream.

Château Eza is a magical place that transports you to what feels like a medieval village, wrapped in luxury, warmth, and unforgettable charm. Our stay was truly enchanting, and we cannot recommend it highly enough

The welcome was wonderful with an easy check in process and a drink to start. The valet service was prompt, courteous, and professional. They brought the luggage to the room. The staff were all very friendly, polite and concerned about making it an excellent customer service experience. The turn down down service was a nice extra touch. I appreciate all the extra attention to detail at the hotel. Everyone made it a memorable experience. The tasting menu at dinner was wonderful except for one or two items I could not eat. It was very visually appealing and to the taste buds as well. Thank you for a memorable and wonderful stay. I highly recommend this place if you visit Eze. The views are stunning from high atop the cliffs. Just be aware if you have any issue with heights.

Overall a good experience, but by any means a great experience. For a hotel with these ratings, the expectations are not met: none of the showers worked properly- one was leaking, the other one didn’t work. The room is market as it has a balcony with ocean view: that was true, as was ‘some’ ocean view, otherwise it was a lot of ‘roof view’ of the adjacent building. Some of staff members was trying to do their best (the valet team was fantastic as they have a very hard job to move the luggage up and down on a lot of stairs), but some of them just average not something expected from a hotel with such ratings … and rates (ie at check out they charged us one night more for the parking, the offer for transportation was just outrageous- ie 3 times the taxi rates for same type of car…).
On the other hand, pleas do yourself a favor and don’t go to the hotel’s restaurant: the service is just bad and the food not so great either (at least for the expectation from a Michelin star restaurant). Let’s start with the reservation: we asked for dinner reservation, and they booked us at 8:00 pm, when the best time is 7:00 pm so you can enjoy the sunset- they didn’t mention / offer this, albeit the restaurant was half booked when we arrived. They asked for formal dressing: don’t worry - they do not reinforce: the people are showing up in T shirts and flip flops. Now the service: we asked for sparkling water, obviously they brought us still water; they brought us the drinks ordered by others …

Great stay as a whole! The only complaint was that almost every night there was a private event going on in the dining/bar so there was no place for guests staying at the hotel to have drinks or dinner. The hotel should have a place where guests can use regardless of a private event.

I couldn’t tell from the online photos that there would be so many tourists, so I was really surprised by the crowds.
One more thing, after getting out of the taxi, the staff carried our luggage to the room, but I wouldn’t have been able to get there without their help. It might be tough for people who aren’t confident in their mobility or who need a cane.
Of course, thanks to that, the view is excellent.

There were a couple of things not quite right about this. It's a premium hotel at a premium price. On arrival. We were told that the restaurant was closed for the two nights of our stay and that we'd been sent a message about it. Perhaps we had but the message I received through Expedia was blank with the hotel's logo. So my guess is the cut and paste from Microsoft word without removing formatting characters which rendered their text invisible and Expedia doesn't seem to have a message store where I could attempt to recover it or read it. So I didn't have the opportunity to make alternative arrangements. We were offered dinner by room service. Now in a celebrated restaurant that should be fine. More than fine. But the food that turned up was prepared and served with no love or finesse. I wouldn't serve it at home. And while so many things about this, hotel are right, my lasting memory will be a ball of flaccid called pasta, and the three members of staff who told me they'd sent a message. So that was that with not a hint of apology that the message didn't reach me

One of the best hotels in the world?

This one of the best hotel stays we have ever had. I have stayed at many ***** hotels for work. Obviously, Eze is a wonder but Chateaux Eza is unique. It is snall but has great rooms with stunning views. The staff are wonderful, from front desk, to bar, to restauran and I must mention the cleaners.

The location is perfect. The view is amazing. The room was very unique. But the mattress was not comfortable at all and the toilet was not clean when we arrived (had some black dirt inside). Moreover, I forgot something important in the room and they didn’t bother to let me know. When I called to ask > they said they will send it for a very overpriced amount. I expect a bit more from a 5 star hotel..

Amazing hotel in quaint small village setting. Wonderful staff very attentive and accommodating. Parking valet is tough to find at night, halfway up hill to entrance of village, but they bring all your bags to your room and park your car for a fee. We ate at the on-site restaurant for dinner, wonderful view, much better in day time. Dinner was $400, too expensive, one drink $45. The only negative to this hotel. Room was spacious and comfortable. Make sure you visit the garden on the top of village only 4 euros.

We left because the hotel doesn’t have a disclaimer as the amount of stair it has to go anywhere around your room door And village. We arrived at 6pm and there was no place to eat. An interesting experience

My husband and I visited Eze when it was rainy and windy, so the experience was a bit challenged by weather to begin with so we weren’t able to enjoy the outdoor terraces as we had hoped. But the views were lovely. Regarding the property, they have done a nice job of modernizing what is obviously are obviously very old space. We had a 2 story suite with 2 bathrooms and 2 fireplaces. It was comfortable and spacious. The couple of criticisms we had are the bedroom smelled like a campfire as there didn’t seem to be a way to close the chimney (this was a consistent smell in the restaurant and bar area as well) and the bathroom downstairs began to have a sewage smell. We stayed in Eze for two nights. One would have been fine to experience the area. Also be aware there is a tip request at check out for the reception team, who were definitely very helpful and friendly. But I had never seen that before. Overall it was a unique experience.

This is a highly unusual property overlooking the French Riviera from a mountain crest. It is in a beautifully restored and preserved medieval village with pedestrian access only. After the daytime hires have left it is an amazingly peaceful and outrightly beautiful jewel of a place. The staff is incredible and expect every room to be uniquely different. Investing in a view suite is preferable due to size and vista.

Gracious staff, gorgeous room, unsurpassed views! Checking in is a bit daunting driving up to the first reception but once there, the incredible staff takes over. Our car was parked for us and our luggage was removed and brought up the winding, narrow streets by the staff. It's a good thing because the climb to the Château is a bit of a challenge if you're not used to cobblestones and ascending walks. Once we arrived, the staff at the main reception took us straight away to a seat on the terrace with a stunning view of the Mediterranean and complimentary glasses of champagne. We were able to relax and enjoy the view while they took care of all of the details regarding checking in. Once they had completed our check in, they let us know that they would show us to our room whenever we were ready to do so, but there was no hurry - we could enjoy our drinks and view as long as we liked, and we did. When we were ready they showed us to our room, we were greeted with a clean, charming & spacious room full of character, we thought the room was eye candy till we stepped onto our balcony... HOLY COW - an unobstructed, panoramic view of the Mediterranean, Èze-sur-mer and beyond! Breakfast was pricey but it's pretty much the only option near by. We celebrated our 25th Anniversary with a special dinner and we were very glad we did. Once again the staff was gracious, the view was unsurpassed and the food exemplary. Well worth the splurge for a special occasion!

So we parked and paid fir our one night stay to then find on our way up the hill that we should have gone up further. I have stayed in luxury hotels both large and small all over the world and all over the U.S. including many Four Seasons, boutique hotels in Amsterdam, classic institutions like the Hotel Metropol in Moscow, etc. I have NEVER had an experience better, more enjoyable, more fulfilling, more luxurious, more life affirming, more friendly, more welcoming or more accommodating than my week long stay atop Eze Village at Hotel Chateau Eza. Let's forget about the absolutely stunning, soul stirring, heart bursting vistas, sunsets, and surrounding environs of the hotel. They speak for themselves and can be enjoyed with a simple Google search. Let's talk instead about the staff and service at your disposal at Chateau Eza. From the very first minute when our luggage was unloaded by the valet at the bottom of the mountain to the heartbreaking morning of checkout, EVERY SINGLE INDIVIDUAL working at Chateau Eza, from the valet to the reception staff, to the cleaning staff, to the restaurant staff was not only genuinely, sincerely nice, friendly and welcoming, but they gladly and with enthusiasm bent over backwards to anticipate and fulfill every need I had, from the esoteric to the quotidian. They did so with elan, grace and professionalism. I could NOT flummox or perturb them no matter how hard I tried. They refuse to allow you to feel anything but pampered, they refuse to allow you to doubt momentarily that you are anything but royalty. This is the best hotel on Earth. STAY HERE.

Stunningly beautiful setting and amazing hotel. We enjoyed our stay immensely. Overall, the service was very good and we appreciated the room upgrade. The room was very comfortable. The bar service and food selection was not as good as the rest. We would have liked a more casual dining option, and quicker service at the bar. The price for drinks was also unreal (but similar to other luxury hotels in the area) - it was cheaper to buy wine/beer in the mini bar than at the bar. Front desk staff was exceptional, as was JP at the valet.

The view from the deluxe room is phenomenal. This room also has its own fireplace! The negative aspect would be simply that the hotel restaurant is so up-scale and in low-season there aren’t many other options in Eze. We drove into Nice for some meals.

What a place to stay. Be aware it's a hike to the top of Eze where the hotel is located but once there, it is unique. Biggest problem lack of a desk in the room and difficulty getting a taxi at the bottom of the hill. But these are miner compared to the experience.

Excellent hotel and restaurant.
Arrived via taxi from Nice airport. Met concierge at the front of the village where he took our luggage up to the reception area. There is a small walk through the village to reach the front desk. Check-in was completed while sitting on terrace of restaurant.
Our room was the Suite. Excellent condition, well appointed, spacious and clean. Bathroom was equally well appointed. The Suite is worth the price for the terrace and view. The balcony is very large with two loungers, table, couch and hot tub.
The restaurant at night is excellent. We dined at two 3-Michelin star restaurants, and another 1-star restaurant during our trip, and this was comparable, but much less expensive. The view from the restaurant is unbeatable.
Only issues encountered:
1. No iron in the room. This was not a surprise as most hotels in southern France we stayed at also didn't offer irons. However, I called the front desk to have one delivered, and no one answered for 10mins. I had to walk down to the reception area to request one.
2. I ordered breakfast to my room, to be served on the balcony. It arrived 15 mins late, and part of the order was missing. I tried calling the restaurant, but again no one answered. I called the front desk, and was told that they would find someone at the restaurant to call me back.
Otherwise, highly recommend the hotel and the Suite.

Medieval chateau, excellent views over the sea and adjacent headlands. Quaint shops selling locally made items and regional produce. Resteraunt is simply superb and the lounge bar is idyllic.

The service and the food was excellent but the location and the view is marvelous. I visited many places around the world and the room that I had (medieval suite) was definitely gorgeous. I definitely plan to go back.

World class views, gracious service.

A special hotel for times when you want to celebrate. Room with balconies are a must. Food in restaurant coupled with the view and service are five star. We made this our last stop in a tour of southern France and everything about it was stunning!
For us a few nights was sufficient as the little town is small. But it's a great few nights!

Beautiful property and fantastic service. There is a steep walk uphill to get to the Chateau, and it becomes very slippery when it rains. My husband did slip and fall during the rain. The rooms are beautiful, the food was great and it truly is a unique experience. I would definitely recommend the Chateau Eza.

Bucket list experience!

This is a beautiful hotel I’m the most amazing settin you can imagine in a medieval hilltop setting looking out on the Côte d’Azur! I first visited Eze some twenty years ago and always vowed to come back and stay at the Chateau. The character of the windy paths, creative art boutiques, unmatched view fro the dining terrace and amazing dinner met every expectation I had! Despite uncharacteristically cold and rainy weather, it was a great experience.

Unique hotel but not 5 stars

This is a unique hotel with some quirks. We booked a junior suite with full sea view. The sea view is there but close by roofs obscure the views so don’t expect a truly open view. The room itself is basically at the top of the structure and has a low ceiling and outside jacuzzi. The quirk is this - we are talking about a very expensive room in a 5 star hotel but it is not luxurious at all and not 5 star at all.

The next day we moved to a luxury suite with partial view. The view is as promised but the room itself is much better all around - hitting the luxury level. Get one of these.

We had dinner at the gourmet restaurant. It was very good and good value for the money. But, if you can get into the 2 star Michelin restaurant at the chèvre dor - it is worth it. It is jaw dropping.

The biggest complaint I have is breakfast. It is very expensive (30 euro per person) with very poor selection and on our second day serious service issues that had us leave the room with basic items simply missing (like eggs).

The bottom line is that it doesn’t feel like a 5 star operation. If you have to stay in eze (and it is a beautiful location), this hotel is a good choice, but simply don’t expect a 5 star experience. It is not.
