The pillows and mattress were old. The heater is too loud. The common areas were too cold ( in winter) the buffet breakfast that was promised was grab and go bagels , coffee and croissants on Sunday. Highlight is breakfast. Staff is also terrific. What kept me from rating my stay a 5 stars is based on 2 issues: mattress needs replacing. It was too soft, too bouncy and seemed like it’s at the end of its life. The other issue is the inability to get the room to a comfortable temperature. If we used the heat it became too hot so we used the air conditioning instead despite the outside temperature being 30 degrees. Not sure if it was a thermostat issue or an equipment issue but it made the stay uncomfortable.

Minus: Parking for the hotel can be a distance from the entrance. Pool closed in the middle of July for repairs?! Complementary breakfast was a croissant or bagel and juice or coffee served in the front lobby, Only small drink napkins, no full sized napkins or paper plates. A Hampton has a better offering for half the room cost. For a premier destination I would have expected much more.

This is our third year staying at the Normandy hotel. My mother was having surgery, and due to unexpected expenses, I booked our stay with Expedia for 5 nights. Upon arrival, we checked in with front desk staff Alex. From the beginning of our interaction, he was impatient, quick-talking, and rude. We had a problem with our room, I booked a suite for my family of 3 and the room had one king-size bed. I spoke to Alex, at the front desk again and he said because I booked with Expedia, there was nothing he could do or will do. I was in disbelief, we spent 1,500.00 to stay at the Normandy Hotel and this is the treatment we get! Alex, in my opinion, is a bad front desk person. I asked to speak with a manager and was told that no managers were available. Before long I got a call from Sylvia, she is one of the front desk staff that helped facilitate us getting another room with two beds. She listened to my concerns and offered a solution. I am so thankful for her hospitality. I wish I could say that our stay was pleasant, Again we had an interaction with him, my husband called the desk to ask about the wifi, and Alex, told him because we booked through a 3rd party we don’t have it. Then yesterday I called Normandy Hotel to ask about a $53 charge and sure enough I got Alex, he said the charge was for WiFi! and other things. I felt because I booked my stay through Expedia, I was treated differently and made to feel less than by Alex.

Hotel was beautifully decorated for the holidays and the staff was wonderful. Room was clean and nicely appointed; standard hotel room with all the amenities. The free Breakfast was as you would expect from a business hotel/conference center. While the sheets on the bed were of nice quality, the mattress was sagging in the middle as if someone hat let their kids jump on it for hours.

I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. We stayed for one night and the noise level was unbelievable. Due to the excessive noise from nearby rooms, we woke up at 2am and could not sleep until 4:30am. We called the front desk for help and it did not help. The hotel has a quite hours”policy from 9pm until 6am but they do not do anything to help when people decide to party after midnight. Terrible experience.

Honestly, I checked out a day early. Neither my sister or I could get into the shower. My sister the whole reason for this trip could not get into her bed and slept in a chair. Our AC was not working properly the TV was dark and hard to watch. My meal which was to their credit refunded to a gift card for a place I will never go back to... was burnt. My bed sheet was ripped. The flowers were pretty and the champagne and strawberries were in my room when I arrived. My nerves are shot. My sister's birthday was ruined. We came home at 8 am cause we could not take it anymore. To be honest, this is a venue and conference place not a place to get away from it all.

When I made res, I requested late check out. I was told it would not be a problem.
At check in I was told I had to pay for an extra 1/2 day, which I did. When I returned from lunch and tried to enter my room, the key did not work. I had to get cleaning staff to let me in. Then I was called continually from desk asking me when I was checking out. And the hotel was not full and no was checking in on Sunday night. All very annoying.
Also the complimentary breakfast was pathetic. I had to go to dining room to beg for plant based milk.
At check in I was told I had to pay for an extra 1/2 day, which I did. When I returned from lunch and tried to enter my room, the key did not work. I had to get cleaning staff to let me in. Then I was called continually from desk asking me when I was checking out. And the hotel was not full and no was checking in on Sunday night. All very annoying.
Also the complimentary breakfast was pathetic. I had to go to dining room to beg for plant based milk.

Stayed here for one night and it was overall terrible. The bed sheets and covers were covered in stains. It looks like housekeeping only changes the sheets and leaves the rest to be dirty. Overall I would not stay here in the near future because of its poor cleanliness.
