Overall Rating: 10/10 – Highly Recommended! I absolutely loved my stay and would recommend it wholeheartedly. The overall experience was excellent, and I would definitely choose to stay here again on my next visit. The only aspect that was disappointing was the transportation consultation service. On my last day, I approached the concierge desk to inquire about booking a reliable taxi to the Nice airport for an early morning departure. The staff member advised that booking an external taxi might be unreliable and that there was a high possibility the driver might not show up. She then offered the hostel's in-house car service for a fixed price of 250 euros for the trip. This price felt very high. We decided to go to a local taxi stand, spoke with a driver, and downloaded a local taxi app. Using the app for the same early morning trip, the actual cost was only 110 euros. I felt that the information provided by the staff member regarding the reliability of outside taxis was misleading in an effort to sell their significantly more expensive internal car service. While this was a frustrating incident, it was the only negative point in an otherwise perfect stay. Thank you for a wonderful visit!

The hotel itself feels a bit dated and needs renovation. Our city view junior suite basically stares out into the balcony of apartment buildings across the street. Our room felt quite old but clean.

The hotel metroplole is one of the most stylish hotels I have every been. The detail was incredibly authentic. Breakfast was good. I especially want to thank the head daytime concierge. He was immensely helpful. He went out of his way to make sure I knew where I was going. thank you again.

The room is quite small for the price. We ordered from the menu eggs benedict and tea for two and paid 100 euros for that. Definetely overpriced. Since we were a group, check in took around 45 minutes because front desk staff want to give the information about breakfast hours and location of pool etc just once so we waited seated. Hotel is very pretty but overpriced. Thank you

We checked in the manager wasn’t friendly made us wait over 4 hours. Than gave us a room all the way in the back extremely old room. Ripped wall papers writing on the wall the air conditioner did not work we complained daily to the front desk they kept on saying they do not have more rolls available they represent themselves as a 5 star hotel maybe because the location the room was not even 1 star even for free not worth it. And we paid good amount for 3. Nights. Worse experience ever. I suggest you strongly Do Not Do Not stay in this Hotel

One of my favorite properties on the planet! Excellent in all respects. Breakfast buffet unparalleled and worth it for the fresh croissants alone! Pool area atmosphere outstanding ( make sure it is open as it closes for four weeks in spring and fall for seasonal transition to an enclosed pool during winter months. Highly recommend if you are visiting the Côta d’Azur as everything is easily accessible by car. Don’t miss the new San Remo Luxury Outlets just 30 min away!!

The whole experience was exceptional at the hotel, from check in throughout our stay. However, the experience turned chaotic and uncomfortable once it was time to check out, with the Guest Relations Manager was quite rude and condescending with us, which is not how we were treated throughout the rest of our stay. Everyone at the hotel was accommodating and treated guests with respect, with the exception of the Guest Services Manager.

We splurged at top of the line hotels for our 40th wedding anniversary in Cannes, Nice, and Monte Carlo. Others were perhaps a little more expensive, but this, in my opinion was the best.
It started off inauspiciously, as we misunderstood our Google navigation instructions that seemingly took us to the parking garage of the Métropole shopping center. I assumed that the hotel was connected to that internally and parked there. We came up into the shopping area, which was amazing, but could not find the hotel until we walked out on the street and were directed, to a gorgeous set back entrance not obvious from the street. The staff saw my predicament and to my delight, ran several blocks to the parking garage retrieved the car with our luggage and parked it, rescuing me from my navigational incompetence.
Room was spectacular.

It is 100 yards from the Buddha Bar (opens at 6 PM… My wife and I got there shortly there after because we knew we were not stylish enough to get in later).

Exceedingly close to the casino, which I recommend… Opened 2 PM, requires passport, an entrance fee, and in theory jackets for men , though I saw many without. For better or for worse, has an ATM machine inside which I utilized.
About a block behind the casino is an elevator that drops you down to sea level, though you are dumped out into a construction zone. Worth walking along the dock side. If you don’t feel like walking back to the hotel, it may be difficult to get a taxi

The first room we were given that was a deluxe was VERY VERY small. The hotel wasn’t full and why they gave us the smallest room on the floor was not appreciated. We could barely walk around the luggage and my husbands walker. Not good at all.

I provided the same feedback during check out that we were very disappointed with the room we were given. The room is overall very dated and we had a shower that was very hard to operate with a shower cabin that was not water tight. We had flooding in the bathroom which we reported to the management. They chose to offer a temporary fix and the technician was satisfied that it was job done. As we were only staying for another night we decided to put up with the shower and the continued leaking. Room service cleaning was excellent and slightly mitigated the flooding issue. On the subject of the room, the walls are also not sound proofed and we could hear conversations from adjacent rooms clearly. The hotel amenities are good especially the pool and odyssey’s service. The location is also excellent.

We went for my husbands birthday, we loved the hotel the only problem we gad was with the electric sockets in the room. There were a few that were not working and had to keep reporting it and kept getting told it had been fixed when it wasn’t. We had to choose between charging our phones or smart watches every night. I did also mention this again on checkout but felt it fell on deaf ears.

For a 5 star hotel, was extremely disappointed with the check-in process. Coming off of a cruise, we had no choice and arrived way before check in time. They said a room might be ready early and would let us know. However, other people arriving later checked in early and able to get their room. Not only did we have to wait 5 hours to the scheduled check in time, our room was still not ready for 25 minutes after 3:00pm. No effort was made to get us in a room that had already been cleaned. Second issue we had on the 2nd night was that we had no hot water in the shower. Again, very disappointing for a 5 star hotel. These two issues overshadowed the good qualities of this hotel.

Just Not What It Seemed It Would Be

The hotel is old. Check in is dark and no offerings of champagne and a demand for a passport. Exhausting after travel. The initial room was small and facing contribution right outside the window which we were never informed about until in the room. They did switch our room yet slightly better still had no modern day amenities like USB ports and the shower leaked. Compared to the other hotels as we went around this one was dark, smelled, and just wasn’t worth the money. The concierge was not great and we literally couldn’t get a taxi and the hotel did nothing to help us. End of day, the pool was the best thing about this hotel and absolutely would choose Hermitage, De Paris, or Fairmont over this hotel.

The staff was very attentive. They did, however, struggle to communicate on the app in a timely basis and did not follow up to an important question I had untll it did not matter. I also asked them to email the bill and they never did. With that being said, expect high customer service most of the time. The hotel is in a great location. The guests are a bit stuffy and prices for things in the hotel are quite expensive. It is Monte Carlo, though, expect it. I would say Monaco is more of a day trip. There are way better areas in Southern France.

Old rooms, fixtures and technology; still stuck in the 70s.
Small rooms, no privacy on the north side as too close to a residential building.
Poorest breakfast selection for a 5 star hotel ever. Probably a deliberate strategy to push guests to pay for extras, on top of the $65 per person breakfast fee.
They charged me 9 Euros for a print & scan; usually a free service in respectable 5 star hotels.
Mechanized staff, fake friendliness.
Exceptional location though, and food quality is good.
I am wondering about the authenticity of the 10/10 reviews!

I stop by one week before our stay to make sure the room has basic amenities. Unfortunately the room was super outdated. They had to send technician to fix the safe & took 2 hours to address it. Most depressing room in monaco. The staff was respectful but the manager on site was absolutely disrespectful, she was trying to offer $80 to address our horrible experience. The don’t even serve a legit breakfast around the pool. Been to most of exceptional hotels around the world, I will personally rank this experience below accepting level. Hopefully this Management start to close the hotel and update the hotel considering perfect location of hotel.

A Disappointing Reunion

Over the last decade I had stayed at Metropole several times - staying in a variety of rooms, and I always raved to friends on how it was one of my favourites. Pre-covid a visit to The Metropole was eagerly anticipated. You felt special, mainly due to the friendliness and attitude of the staff and consistently high standards.
Last time I stayed (pre-covid) I was welcomed back like an old friend. They had done the research. This week i was very disappointed. An efficient but 'cold' welcome - asked if I had stayed before. It felt like I was booking into a Hilton - no offence to Hilton staff but they are not at 'The Metropole'. My son noticed that few staff were smiling or welcoming - even in the bar. I tried to engage with them..nothing. The one positive were the concierges - who were excellent. I had booked superior rooms - I'm pretty sure the ones we got were not. No comlimentary bottle of wine. No mention of upgrade. Late check out was a difficulty.
Perhaps due to language issues I didn't get what I ordered although I tried to explain carefully.
The rooms were clean enough but there were hairs in my bath and mould on the underside of the vanity unit. Toilet seat scratched. The shower over the bath was frankly wierd and didn't do the job well, and in my son's bathroom the floor was flooded on each use of the shower. Will I go back...no.
I am lucky to have stayed on some of the finest hotels in the world - even in the last 24 months - and the Metropole is no longer up there.

Property is well situated in Monaco, near all the great shopping and historic casino. The pool area is a bit small so depending on how busy hotel is, might not get great seat at pool. Food is super expensive, but very tasty. Hotel is very high-end, we really enjoyed hanging out in the lobby and having drinks and snacks there.

Our room was disappointing, it was small and felt tight, we did not get any upgrade. Also, one of our VIP perks was 4pm late checkout, which they changed to 2pm. The hotel didn't seem full for the 2 days we were there, so i'm sure the free room upgrade VIP perk was simply overlooked.

I would stay here again, but would want a bigger room with a bit more space to move around.

Service cannot be faulted. First time though at Metropole having stayed in other 5* hotels previously in Monaco. Location is great and easy to visit all locations and shopping. Hotel itself is really from a splendid bygone era . Bedroom? Sadly a little too dated and could do with some TLC and new carpets((( I don’t mean to be picky but for what’s being charged , the room we were allocated wasn’t what we expected. Having paid for breakfast, I was a little surprised to be told that my eggs Benedict would attract a “supplement” ))) Really ! ??? It wasn’t actually charged for it on my account but I felt a little surprised to be advised of this. Summary …. Had a lovely stay. Might return but think that to fully appreciate the bedrooms, some serious upgrading / extra costs would have to be paid ))) But 1st class service and staff. Thank you Metropole

The ambiance at the Metropole is very special. Immediately you walk in the door you feel relaxed. This is helped by the staff who are so friendly and make you feel at ease from the minute you arrive. The breakfast experience is special and all the food offerings are absolutely delicious. It’s central location puts the likes of the Casino or the main promenade within reach by means of a short stroll. These are just a few of the reasons that we keep going back to the Metropole.

As you enter this property, you quickly get carried away with the lavish entrance and think you are stepping inside a quality hotel. Nonetheless, those hopes quickly evaporate as you enter your room and realize that you are just in another old building trying to live up to its past. Moreover, my biggest problem with this hotel is that if you are not part of their VIP list, you will be treated as a second-tier guest. I had paid for a king-size bed, and they gave me a room with two twin beds put together with no topper matters to join both beds. Additionally, they placed me in a room right next to a city lamp. Their blinds didn't work, and we had to sleep in an illuminated room all night. When I tried to raise my concerns the next day, their management response was disappointing. In short, stay away from the Metropole. With the amount of money you spend, you are better off somewhere else where they will actually offer solutions to their own problems.

Remarkable hotel with friendly, attentive service from entry to exit! The beauty of this place takes your breath away, from the gorgeous lobby to the marble bathrooms. the Metropole used to be very glamorous place to stay in Monaco. Sadly, except the lobby which is always very impressive with deco & flowers- the rooms and service could have some improvement to be really a 5*. The rooms are simply rusty and old fashion the wrong way- you can see clearly the last renovation was many years ago.. too many.. and the bed sheets should be definitely improved!

Without a doubt one of the best hotels we've ever stayed in. Rooms are SUPERB, loved the fresh cut flowers (complimentary) and the Birthday cake (also complimentary) was a special treat.

Excellent breakfast.

Totally worth the splurge! Recommend the valet parking for only 39 euro and the free access to the casino (normally 10 euro p/p was handy)

This is one of the best hotel I’ve ever stayed at. Perfect location and all facilitates were outstanding. True luxury service, everything had been well thought through and no ask was too difficult for the staff to deliver. I will definitely stay here again.

This property is amongst one of the best hotels in the world!. It is THE place to stay in Monaco.

Is it the beautiful decor, the wonderful restaurants, the fine location and the attention to detail that make it so? Well, that all helps, but what makes this property truly unique are it's people. This \"hotel\" does not feel like a modern hotel because of the its staff. It feels like home. Perhaps even a hotel from an era long gone by.

I would like to especially thank the front desk staff, specifically the manager, Marseille (hope I spelled it right). His professionalism and gracious hospitality made our stay here to celebrate my 50th birthday truly memorable. Thank you everyone at the Metropole! See you soon!

Location of property is good. The room was extremely old needs urgent maintenance and refurbishment. Hygiene condition in room appalling. Certain person (name not mentioned) at the reception has an attitude problem.

Very stylish hotel just off the Casino square. The Odyssey business model needs a bit more thought as a lot if sunbeds reserved but not occupied - very frustrating for guests!
