The property is good for the location that it is in. Easy access to all the tourist spots. All the staff there very friendly and helpful.
Outside the property they had workmen digging a large hole probably for new mains. But that did not bother me.
Just made access to the front door to the hotel from the street inaccessible . but you could get there on the side and walk down to the main entrance.

All in all we our enjoyed our trip. would go again and recommend the Hotel Ambassdor Monaco.

One night in Monte Carlo

Hotel staff were friendly and very helpful. We needed a change from a double bed to two single beds and it was no problem.
Let us leave our luggage after checking out.
Air conditioning worked well and our room was clean and tidy.
We definitely didn’t have any bad smells that others have mentioned.
Breakfast was also very good.
Excellent hotel for the price in a great part of Monaco.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE

STAY FAR FAR AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL! I have no clue how it has any positive reviews. The only reason I booked in the first place is because it looks really nice online. The hotel is actually EXTREMELY dingy and smelly. After checking in and going to our room, we noticed the AC was not working so I went downstairs to complain and she said she’ll move us to a new room. After unpacking all of our stuff, we had to repack and move. In the new room, the carpet was full of stains but I didn’t complain. A few days later, a horrible poop smell starting coming from the shower drain. When I asked about this, they said there was a plumbing issue. We couldn’t use our bathroom or stay in our room because the smell was so bad. They offered us a new room again so we had to fully pack and unpack a second time. This room was nicer and bigger, however when I woke up the next morning I noticed blood stains in the sheets. I had also been bitten by bugs in multiple spots. After sending a formal complaint to the hotel manager she is refusing to give a refund! Even before the “plumbing” issue, the elevator smells SO bad that we had to hold our breath and nearly choke each time. Stay away at all costs!!!!!!

Great for a short stay!

The hotel was fine, especially considering the price point. There was a strange kind of sewage smell in the stairway leading up to the rooms that was unpleasant. The breakfast was your basic cold continental breakfast. The rooms were tidy but very basic, no separate conditioner or shampoo just the 2 in one body wash/Shampoo. Bed was comfy, great location also, very close to the Princes Palace.

OK For Staying One Night

The room was small and a little old fashioned and tired. There was only a small amount of soap in the dispenser. The safe was temperamental to use. Some nice staff and some who appear rude and don’t acknowledge you are there when you are standing in front of them. Wasn’t made aware there is building work going on next door. Ok for an overnight stay. Restaurant in the evening was good value and the food was of a good quality.

I saw mixed reviews of this property while I was searching for a hotel in Monaco. Most of the unfavorable comments were that the hotel was 'worn out' or 'tired'. My advice to those people is that if you want to stay at a 5 star luxury hotel, be willing to pay the price. But don't bash a 3 star like the Ambassador because it doesn't meet your expectations.

The Ambassador Hotel is an amazing value for the money. The rooms are clean, the staff is friendly, and the location can't be beat. The hotel is within walking distance of all the great attractions in Monaco.

Until I can afford to stay on a luxury yacht, I will definitely return to the Ambassador and would also recommend it to my friends.

Good location. Have breakfast elsewhere!

Good stay at Ambassador. Receptionists were friendly and helpful. The room was a nice size and comfortable. Shower was really good. The only things that let the stay down is that the walls are really thin and I could hear the couple next door being intimate first thing in the morning. Also, breakfast was TERRIBLE. Do not bother with that. I had a cup of tea (using my own tea bags as theirs looked cheap and weak) and an apple. There was barely any choice and the host checking guests in for breakfast was busy stuffing her face behind the bar and talking with her mouth full, really unwelcoming.

This was a nice hotel in Monaco and good value for the price- especially compared to most hotels nearby. The rooms were comfortable. The front desk staff was a bit harsh answering questions & asked me to pay for an extra guest to have a friend help me bring my luggage to the room. They were helpful with storing my bags after I checked out for a few hours.

Good overall, but air con needs fixing.

Lovely staff, especially the ladies who looked after us during breakfast and the man on reception late at night. Breakfast was filling. Cleaners are friendly and did a great job. Bathroom is excellent, really good shower. Iron was available on request. Unfortunately the air con was incredibly loud, almost like a washing machine was in the room. It really ruined my sleep, we had to turn it off and then the room was very hot. However, for a hotel in Monaco, it’s a good price.

The front desk person on checkin couldn’t have cared less. She did everything she possibly could to avoid checking me in, including (literally) shuffling papers until the other checkin person had finished with the person ahead of me.
The room was tiny and I almost could get into the shower because the door was so small.
I get that Monaco real estate is massively expensive but I’m sure you can do better at any other place than this

Good location

Great location near Place d'Armes bus stops and restaurants. Friendly and helpful reception. Our air conditioner didn’t seem to work, but we did not call for assistance and opened the balcony door instead. Not a luxury place, but was comfortable and clean.

The photos of the property are misleading because the actual condition of the hotel is a lot worse. The AC in the lobby has a moldy smell. The floors in the room were stained, the shower was very dirty and the drain didn’t work properly. The mirror in the bathroom was not clean. The safe in our room was broken and didn’t work at all and there isn’t a proper lock on the door to lock inside of the room when you are sleeping which made us feel unsafe. The location is great and close to everything. The reception were not very friendly and misdirected us to the train. Overall, I wouldn’t come back.

Quite acceptable but not remarkable. One irritation was that the first airport bus of the day leaves at 7.10am from a stop which is a 10 minute taxi ride from the hotel. But breakfast doesn't start until 7am so you'll have to go hungry (and I never did find the bus stop either so had to get a taxi to the airport).

You're in Monaco, you don't want to spend €500 a night then this place is perfect. You're a 3min walk from the Rasscass bend, a 10min walk from the train station. Great for people who use the room for sleeping and not hanging out in it all day.

One of the few affordable \"regular\" hotels in Monaco; this is a nice enough, clean hotel to stay at for few nights. Location is great, right at the foot of the oldest part of Monaco, \"Le Rocher\", where the palace and old town are, but also right next to the market and port of Monaco.

We arrived on a hot August night. As with most hotels the rooms aren't cool until you put your card in the slot. This one did not have that. It had an old thermostat from 1950. So we turned it down, left for the day to go tour. Came back and it was still hot. Talked to the front desk staff and they changed us to a room that was cooler but never got cold. The staff were nice about about changing rooms.
The hotel is old and not updated. The linen in the room is clean and nice. Just the hotel needs some updating. It's old. Both rooms had old thermostats which I'm pretty sure we're decoration only and the controls are hidden from tourists and controlled by the staff.
The beds in both rooms are hard as rocks. Literally lying on coils. Not firm like most European hotel beds these are horrible. Needless to say we did not sleep well.
The second night (we only stayed because we pre-prepaid for 2 nights) the Wi-Fi didn't work. Called the front desk and no help.
Overall the worst hotel we've stayed in so far. Pay a little bit more for a better place. It's gotta be worth it.

If we had paid full rate we would have been very disappointed. The air conditioning did not work and no attempt was made to fix it; the shower hose leaked and there was therefore not much pressure; the shower was at the sloping end of the bath and it was not easy to get under it.

Breakfast was very, very average; reasonable choice but not very good quality; from the labels it all seemed to come from a cash and carry in Italy. We were charged for cappuccinos as we could not drink the coffee provided. If breakfast had not been included we would have gone to the nearby market fro proper croissants.

The location is good, in the centre of the 'real' Monaco, a few steps from the market and many restaurants, and on the local busses' routes.

Upon arrival, we were charged a fee as the room description on hotels.com did not specify that the rate was for one person. The receptionist was not the friendliest to say the least. The actual room was really old, with rust and mold in the shower (which barely fit 1), and a view of an old wall from the window. The bed frame was new but that was about the only pleasant thing in the room. We took photos of the way we left the room every time we walked out, because we had an odd feeling about the place. All in all we were happy we only had to spend one night there. Next time we'll spend the extra money and stay at the Fairmont, which ended up coming to about the same price during the time of our stay...

This hotel is a well priced option for central Monte Carlo. The breakfast was reasonable and the bed comfortable. The hotel is about a 5 minute walk from some nice restaurants near the port. All in all a reasonable option for Monte Carlo where most of the hotels are overpriced.

WIFI DIDN'T WORK. MATTRESS SUCKED. NICE STAFF.

WIFI DIDN'T WORK -- there's no excuse for no wifi in a hotel and the stay should have been fully refunded. The mattress sucked and you could feel the springs. The staff were nice and at least tried to be helpful. Also, the front desk writes down your credit card information, which is a violation of credit card association rules. It's not secure and very stupid.

Don't expect luxury or friendliness

Great location and cheap, but don't expect anything else. The bed was made up of a bottom sheet, flat sheet, duvet with no cover on which was filthy and a sheet over the top. Room was very dated. Fridge did not work. When we arrived late at night there were 2 bottles of water, nuts and biscuits in a basket, nice touch I thought, until the morning when I saw the price of the not very complimentary items!? Air conditioning controls had exposed electrical wires. Bathroom was grubby and dirty cracked tiles everywhere. Bath water ran brown. Also there was building work being carried out in the vicinity which started at 7pm and went on until past 6pm. Breakfast choice was minimal, but the coffee was great!

Room very basic. Terribly uncomfortable bed. Breakfast has very little to choose from no eggs hot food just some cereals a few sweets and one or two cold meats.

Location was key

For what we needed the hotel for, which was basically just a bed it was perfect. The rooms were pretty run down but served the purpose. The main positive was the location as it was walking distance to everything we wanted to see in Monaco.

Nice hotel, very close to everything

The room and en suite were clean and the beds were comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was plentiful every morning.

Quite central and ok

The hotel is quite central and inexpensive compared to other hotels in the area. They validate your parking which saves a little bit of money in the car park across the road.
