Hotel is legendary but old. Some facilities are not working properly. Check in was at 15.20 only. Breakfast is not including champagne. And celebration of birthday was really very poor (from the hotel perspective ). Not all stuff is friendly.

Hotel de Paris is truly a five-star property. You can feel like the rich and famous even if you're not! The property is beautiful, the location incredible. The staff were excellent. The American bar is the place to hang out for sure.

I normally don’t do reciew. obviously this hotel one of the best around the world however it was very unfortunate my room had so many technical issues . Had to spend hours dealing w technicians fixing TV & 2am the power outlets was out another round of technician. After sharing the issue w management they offered discount which was even more insulting! Just wanted to reflect so they underestand this caliber guest doesn’t care about discount but the experience. They should have offered similar experience for another stay & addressed the issues to avoid another guest going through the same horrible experience dealing w technicians 2-3 AM!!!

Probably one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed at, a unique, world class experience. Pretty much everything is to a very high standard. It’s easier to pick at the few faults. The bathroom was a bit small, UK TV channels are barely catered for and old films cost €14 - they really should be included. I’m sure it was an exception but our room occasionally smelt oddly fishy. If you like hotels, put it on your bucket list.

It is an amazing hotel and we were treated very well. We had tried to get a reservation at their three star restaurant and had no luck. We asked when we checked in they got us in! Even though my husband did not have a jacket they provided one for him. Their turn down service included cleaning the room and turning the lights down, which happened while we were at dinner.
The staff at the restaurant were excellent. The service was exceptional. The food amazing. I thought I had eaten good butter before but the butter was the best I've ever had.

Everything was excellent except for the reception service during our lunch at The Grill Restaurant on 8th November 2018 (booked through the hotel concierge). When we arrived at the restaurant, we were presented with the table nearest to the entrance. Upon telling the two receptionist ladies that we wanted another table, we were given rude eyebrow raise and they left us unattended for more than 10 minutes. Only when I asked them the reason for the wait, we were then rudely told that the table originally given to us is already one of the best and then they ushered us to another table.

Other than the bad experience with the two receptionist ladies at the grill restaurant, everything else was excellent at the hotel.

Has to be the top hotel in Monte Carlo!!

I booked this hotel without really knowing the history behind it. This hotel is over 100 years old and is partially owned by the Royal Family of Monaco. I noticed that it wasn't in Fodor's as a recommended hotel, but I can't imagine why it wasn't. I travel extensively for business and get to stay at Ritz Carltons and Four Seasons properties extensively, however, this may be the nicest hotel I have ever stayed at. Fresh off of massive renovation (part of the hotel is still under renovation), the rooms have parquet hardwood floors, massive closet space, and black marble bathrooms with heated floors. Everything was perfect with the exception of an espresso maker that would not work. The staff was exceptionally helpful. This property is the closest property to the famous casino and is part of the same complex.
The only complaint that I would have is that there isn't really a place in the lobby or off the side to have an informal glass of wine or cocktail. There is a balcony overlooking the water, that serves cocktails, however, they were full and there was no place to sit, so we weren't able to do so there. We had to go across the street to the Cafe de Paris-Monte Carlo, but the people watching there more than made up for it. I would absolutely stay here again.

Hotel de Paris - wow!

The Hotel de Paris - wow! We went during this April and, even though being renovated, was out of this world. The Location is exactly perfect - center of Monte Carlo. Service is amazing, and services - access to the casino, shuttle bus to other properties, access to the spa - make the luxury worth it (as long as you use!).

Room service has very good food, and being in the middle of it all in Monte Carlo is pretty incomparable. Would recommend for special occasions or just a simple visit - the Hotel de Paris succeeds at everything you would expect a luxury Monaco hotel to do - and more!

Very nice hotel but can be better

It is pity can not enjoy the Lobby as the Hotel is under renovation. Bad feeling was when we checked out, the receptionist lady who had no smile at all, asked if we had consumed the mini bar. We said no and she called the house keeper to check if we lied or not. We were surprised such top Hotel suspected the guest. We spend HK$25,000 for two nights including dinner in Louise XV. Do you think we would take this advantage?

A wonderful stay

The hotel and staff were excellent, expensive but special. The room full of comfort and relaxing to be in. We ate the first evening at The Grill on the top floor of the hotel, it was well over priced and the food only acceptable nothing special, the view though was wonderful. We preferred the meal we ate the following evening in Café de Paris across the road which can charge back to the hotel.

The public rooms are breathtaking! The staff is always so accommodating. They sent a hotel colleague to the train station to pick up our train tickets because there was not Enoch's gh time to have them delivered. The Bar Americain featuring live music, was very fun and popular with hotel guests as well as locals . The renovated rooms are beautiful and well equipped with everything you could possibly want or need. We especially enjoyed dining under the stars on the terrace of the rooftop restaurant ...excellent wine selections!

Two Rude hotel guys ruined my relaxed feeling

Originally, the experience with the hotel could be a good one, however, two of the hotel guys ruined the feeling completely - The hotel has a decorated dining room. When I checked in, the front desk lady took me to take a look at the room - when I checked the room and wanted to take some pics, a couple of guests walked over to see the room and walked in front of me. The lady worked for my check-in during that time, but not sure why she asked me to wait on the side till the couple guests took photos at the room. I waited for long and so had to go to the bedroom at first. On the following day during check-out time, I wanted to make up some photos for that dining room, and so I walked over(as the couple did) to take photos there. At this moment, two hotel guys walked over to me quickly and showed very seriously faces, and ordered me to leave from there without visiting the room. Their faces and tongue were so cold, treating me like a thief instead of a guest, ordering me to leave from there - didn't these two guys know I was your guest paying for my stay? if you perform as policemen treating your guests in such an impolite tongue, who'd like to pay to stay at your place, especially your charge is so high comparing with other hotels? I paid it to buy the pleasant feeling and experience, but your hotel employees didn't want to bring that feeling to your guests. The two guys are not suitable to work for the hotel, as they didn't bring to bring excellent services but on opposite.

Wonderful, everything you think it would be.

We checked in and it was excellent from beginning to end following this. The checkin was efficient and polite with great attention to detail. As the work on the hotel is in progress we were given a room on Casino Square which was fantastic. Thats a view worth every penny.

Unhappiness Experience

We are exciting and planning to celebrate our 28th Wedding Anniversary in this supperstar hotel for 2 nights and dream that it must be a romantic and memorable trip.

When we entered to our room with City View, we opened the balcony door and found that there was a construction site attaching the hotel. We were suffering the noise and dust. In order not to affecting our mood for the trip, the only way was not staying at the hotel and going outside for sightseeing and shopping and visiting the Casino. Monte-carlo is really a tourist paradise. We love this place.

There are 2 more issues we felt not happy at all
(1)we could not enjoy the breakfast in the restaurant due to renovation and were requested to have breakfast in the room. We don't like eating in the room.
(2) We felt that there are a lot of music and noise surrounding our room, we tolerated until midnight and put our complaint to the Reception. We accepted their explanation of the wedding party downstair until 1 am. But we have no choice.....

Finally we decided to stay one night only and cancel the 2nd night booking. The main reason was that we would like to keep our happy mood and continue our journey.

The hotel itself and service are good. Only that we think that hotel.com should inform us in advance about there is the construction work in the hotel. Maybe we will choose another hotel and avoid such unhappniess experience.

May Hotel.com please give us the explanation.

In a great location in the centre of town.

We had a really enjoyable time in Monaco and the Hotel de Paris enhanced the experience. We were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary and felt we should celebrate in style in Le Grill restaurant on the 8th floor at the top of the hotel. The food was good, staff were attentive and we had a really enjoyable experience.

I recently toured through France staying at a number of fabulous hotels in the range EU60 to EU110. This hotel cost over EU700 and was by far the worst. The so called double bed was two singles pushed together and collapsed in the middle...probably due to a succession of over weight guests. I spent the night rolling into the middle and falling through the gap. In the end I gave up and slept on the floor. Staff were not overly concerned.

Hotel close to main area

Overall it's a beautiful hotel. However I found the room was a little dusty in areas and a little worn in the bathroom. The hotel wasn't very busy and as such I believe they would have had nicer rooms available than the one they gave me and it would have been a nice touch if they gave me a room which had a nicer view given I went for my birthday. In the hotel they had a gown for a male and female, before preparing the room they should check the guests who are actually be in the room and set the room up accordingly the prices the hotel charges you would expect them to pay attention to the finer details. Apart from a few minor things overall a good experience.
