This place is from the Gilded Age and beautiful. The flooring, tiling, the atmosphere was cool.
The one thing, though, was that the valet was extremely difficult to work with and not labeled to where to go, there was no signage anywhere. We had to drive around the city and find a place to park to call the hotel—which was no help. The staff had absolutely no idea where to tell us to go, and when we finally did, we sat in a lane of traffic IN THE ROAD while other sped through and were told to leave everything there and the vehicle. We received two different valet tickets. It’s a real circus there. We went inside after not knowing where our vehicle would end up, and were greeted with the stunning building, but again, NO SIGNS pointing ANYWHERE to the check in, restaurant, or the “market” that was closed at 9:00pm — which didn’t help when I needed an Advil to rid my fever. We could simply not navigate through this place. I would never, ever stay there again. I spent $600 for ONE night and the only thing ‘worth it’ was the free water bottles from the coffee maker. Terrible, terrible. I was disgusted, and disappointed.

This is a historic site and a neat old building . There is a lot of stuff to do and see here. Cool board walk area with big koi pond, restaurant, small playground, mini golf, Ferris wheel, aquarium. Too much to list.

The light show in the lobby area was awesome..

Our room was clean and solid, no complaints. Staff was friendly.

Not really negatives, but just things to be aware of;
1. It’s kinda laid out weird and takes some time to figure out where you are going. If you’re here for any length of time I think most people can figure it out and get used to the layout. The hotel itself isn’t as big as I imagined reading some of the other comments prior to our stay.

2. If you are hauling a bunch of stuff, ask for a cart. It’s quite a haul without one

3. Don’t forget your room key. There are vestibules between the sections and you can get in them without a room key, but you’ll need a room key to get out without being forced to go outside.

4. Be sure to check out the boardwalk and restaurants behind the pool.

The staff was amazing!!! Every person we came in contact with from the valet to front desk, waitress at the bar, waiter for breakfast at the grille and concierge. ALL were kind and so helpful. The BEST staff experience I’ve ever had at a hotel!!! You ALL are the best. The breakfast buffet was so good!! The food from the bar the night before, chefs kiss! Thank you for an amazing first time experience! We are already planning our trip back!!

The person who checked me in was outstanding. I was disappointed early this morning when I called the number for valet and no one picked it up especially frustrating because three gentlemen were in the office when I got down there. Thankfully, the front desk called them as I went by and said nobody picked up my call and lo and behold we’re starting to try to figure out which car was mine- They wasted 10 minutes so this snow storm was coming. While the stay was fine, it was not worth the money we paid. More signage is needed. We were sent on wild goose chases to find our room and to find elevators. It took quite a bit of work to get to our room. While we booked a nice room, the phone did not work and housekeeping inconsistently restocked coffee and sweeteners. It was also strange that in that nice of a hotel, there was no make up towel or make up wipes. No q-tips or cotton balls. The light show was good and the bar area was nice.

Excellent stay! I took my son and two grandsons age 8 and 9. We went for 2 days over New Year’s. It was a wonderful experience. Pretty much everything we needed was within Union Station. Can’t wait to return in summer when the pool is open! Also - it’s dog friendly!!!

The room was clean, however, some of the furniture could've been replaced as they were a bit older (and had some physical defects such as a hole). The continental breakfast that came with our executive suite in the executive lounge was good, but could've been better; more variety would make it a 5. The area around the hotel is pretty good, but the parking situation could've been clearer/safer (underground parking could be better).

Everything was wonderful. It is such a beautiful hotel in a great location and we loved it! The food and drinks at the Grand Hall Bar were also excellent. The staff were all wonderful. The gorgeous architectural details in the main hall and many other areas of the hotel are just amazing and we hope to come back again soon!

The hotel proprty is huge and could benefit from better signage in various entryways and halls. Very disappointed in the lack of bartenders and wait staff in the Grand Ballroom after the IL vs MIZZOU Basketball game. From previous years management should know that there will be a large volume of fans that use the Ballroom as an after game drink space. Having three servers wait on over 300 people is ridiculous and an insult. Wait times for a drink were at least 30 minutes. Entirely disrespectful to fans and clients of the hotel.

Room was not spotless. Bathroom and beds were covered in long black hairs. Not a fan of small garbage cans with no bags. Large garbage cans are a mile away if you want to empty them. Completely blocking off the big hall when guests are trying to get to and from their cars with 2 small children was a huge inconvenience as well.

Well we will not be back. The rooms were absolutely filthy. And very small! Dust everywhere, towels not clean, very outdated. The queen beds are pretty much twins so don’t expect a normal queen. The staff at the front was polite and check in was easy - HOWEVER - one of our rooms was not ready until 6:30!!!!! Unacceptable. They have an excuse about late checkouts…. As for the property - it’s HUGE! But lots of things to do outside. We came for the Polar Express and that was a nice event. Last but not least. Allow at least 30 minutes for valet and getting your car. I’m not sure where they parked it but taking over a half hour was a bit ridiculous.

Room was nice, location of the hotel and their attraction perfect. Now what needs to improve; elevators, just 3 elevators are not enough to handle big crowds. We waited almost 20 minutes in one ocassion for an opportunity to reach our floor. The place doesn't have a convenience store or any gifts shop on place (besides of the Aquarium), just Starbucks with limited business hours. The Restaurants in the premises also have limited business hours, after 9 pm dinner options are limited to room service. The Grand hall can't be use for dinner sorry.
There is lack of announcements and information about the events. For example we didn't know until last moment they offered a Thanksgiving dinner offer. ...In summary beautiful place good location, but can improve for better experience.

It Elways very hard to locate the hotel check-in area. The signs were spaced so far apart that it was easy to get lost. Then there was a long check-in line and only 2 people working the desk (plus one who was on the phone the entire time we were in line, so she didn’t help anyone). One of the other two who were actually checking people in was with the same hotel guest for the whole time we were in line. So basically, there was only one person checking guests in. With a big event (Guns ‘N Hoses) in town, there should have been more people checking in guests. But the hotel room was very quiet and clean and comfortable. Overall a good experience except for check-in and finding the hotel lobby.

This is a spectacular building, as most old train stations were/are. Room was very comfortable, clean and quiet. Nice view of the common area (4th floor) with quick hourly \"shows\" on the water. Climate control worked as we wanted (which is unusual for us), warm while awake and nice and cool while sleeping.

There were a couple of things I could grumble a little bit about, but certainly no show stoppers. Parking is ridiculously expensive considering the premium money spent for, well, everything associated with the venue. I would like to see validation for guests, especially if they are booked for multiple nights. Also, I do wish that there were two chairs in the room for the table instead of one comfy chair and an office chair. And please clean the windows. The view is just too cool to be looking through a dirty window.

Altogether the verdict is yes, we would stay there again, and recommend it to others.

My stay at Union Station Hotel was genuinely beautiful and unique. The property itself is stunning and has a charm you don’t find at most hotels it really feels like an experience, not just a place to sleep.

My room was very clean and the view was really nice, with minimal noise throughout the night. The only thing I would recommend is upgrading the bedding — the sheets and comforter felt a little dated compared to how gorgeous the rest of the hotel is.

Check-in was smooth and welcoming. I want to shout out the doorman, I believe his name was Luke, who was amazing. He helped us navigate the property and gave great directions. The valet team was also polite and professional.

The location is super convenient if you’re walking to nearby sporting events or attractions, and I felt pretty safe walking around the area.

My favorite part of the stay was the activities behind the hotel such a nice touch and made the experience even more enjoyable.

Overall, I had a great stay and would definitely return. A few small upgrades to the room comforts would make this a 5-star experience.

Pictures when booking did not match the room we paid extra for. The room was smelled when we entered and had to air it out. No notice that the lobby was going to be closed for an event and couldn’t enjoy the atmosphere. This is a great location for a hockey/soccer game but extremely overpriced for what we got. Will not stay again when you can somewhere less expensive and pay for parking.

The rooms were very dirty and smell like cigarettes when you are in a no smoking room. No bathroom vents. That is probably the worst part about the stay. Also they only give you two towels for a whole weekend for two people. Not thinking you may need an extra it’s something so or you want an extra towel for your hair. I’ve never been to a hotel that is so stingy on towels. You literally pay for the atmosphere and that is a value the rest is terrible. I felt like I paid the most I’ve never paid for a hotel and got the dirtiest smallest room.

This was my first time staying here. I stayed in the clock tower. The hotel and room were excellent. The hotel is very beautiful and convenient with a market area for coffee and restaurants. The light show in the lobby is just gorgeous!

The staff was so professional and friendly. I was extremely impressed how friendly everyone was. And that includes hotel cleaning staff and front desk. I definitely will stay here again. I highly recommend this hotel as your first choice when visiting St Louis!

Great location, dirty hotel

I’ve never stayed at a Hilton before, but chose this hotel because of the location and convenience of being near activities for my family. We loved being able to step out of our elevator and walking to the aquarium, mini golf, restaurants, and more. Main problem was cleanliness, which is important to me. Our first room smelled like strong mildew. They were happy to switch our rooms and apologized for the inconvenience. Then the second room also smelled like mildew, but more mild. There was dust in wall corners and vents. The shower was also not cleaned as there were streaks in the bathtub and shower curtain hadn’t been changed out or washed. Unfortunately won’t be staying here again.

Old and dingy. We found out that we stayed during their “non busy” season and they still gave us the very last room at the end of a smelly and dingy hallway. When I looked out the window, I saw old/left over materials that they decide to just lay there. Putting us in that room when you don’t have any other guests was flat out rude.

I liked having onsite dining options and multiply types of entertainment activities, pool hours, friendly accomodating staff and beautiful place.

I didnt like no microwaves in the rooms, no strollers to rent for smaller children. Although the pool was 4 ft, no swimming area for smaller children. No motorized scooters or wheelchairs.
