I love the Topaz Motel because it’s super affordable and it’s beachfront with an amazing restaurant attached to it. Best peel-and-eat shrimp in town! Is it a resort? No. Is it a great place to stay when you’re in a bind and need a safe and beautiful to stay? absolutely, yes.

No refrigerator in our room. The pool was dirty and felt like walking on rocks. No one in the office when I needed assistance. It is not wheelchair friendly to get into the office. I wouldn't stay here again.

Room was clean. Half the room and bathroom were updated. New tile. You can tell they are in process of updating the property. Our curtions had holes in them. Bed was decent. Front desk was really helpful with extra towels, pillows, blankets and whatever else we needed. Love the beach view and access.

We stayed in the main converted house. The room was very cool with antique furnishings, a very comfy bed, and a nice balcony with a nice beach view. The one thing that needs improvement is that the old hardwood floor needs to be stripped and refinished badly. The ancient finish has become sticky and quickly soils bare feet. However, this did not hamper our enjoyment.

After 4 rooms, I was able to find somewhat of an appropriate accommodation. The first room had outlets hanging out of the wall, an extension cord going across the floor. No outlets worked. The floor was disgusting and the bedding was discolored and torn. They sent me to a 2nd room to look at and the whirlpool would not shut off. Switches were missing cover plates or no switch was present. The room was dirty and the floor looked like there was urine around the bathroom stool. Room 3 had wall lights falling out and hanging by the wire and was very dirty. Room 4 was at least clean but had several items damaged including the hair dryer hanging off the wall, the support bar into the shower was ripped away from the wall, the fan vent cover was hanging off the ceiling, the threshold was busted up and the outlet sparked anytime you tried to plug in something. I had two other individuals that were renting a room for the weekend and both had to be transferred to another room as well. Neither of them stayed the second night as the AC did not work among other safety issues. I highly suggest to stay away from this place. The pictures and reviews on line are not real! Had I been able to cancel, I would have but the owner said I could not because I booked through Expedia. Horrible service and disgusting rooms that are health hazards.

As mentioned in reviews, on very hot days, the AC struggled to keep the entire room cool. I brought a 12 inch fan and put on nightstand beside bed, and was comfortable. I had no issues with parking. The Internet was iffy. I switched to hotspot.

Front Desk still has plexiglass covid barrier so it was hard to understand what the clerk was saying. Bathroom was the issue. It had no mirror. Half a roll of toilet paper when I checked in, no spare roll hidden anywhere. Toilet seat was only connected by one hinge. No overhead light fixture, just a table lamp sitting on the sink. No lampshades, and only one light bulb and one empty socket.

The rooms are basic, actually okay for cheap crash site after beach days, BUT there are extended stay type situations. My first night, SUNDAY night people partied till 3am. No staff to be found. Final two nights (non-refundable) a bit better. Go to party or bring noise canceling headphones (how i survived)

We got to stay in the main building which is on top of the Flagler seafood company. This gave an old mansion vibes. Our room was really big and had access to an ocean view balcony. The restaurant serves some of the best seafood around. I gave overall 5 stars experience.

The room I booked was a single queen bed with a kitchenette, coffee maker, basic utensils, etc. etc. what I got was a room with two beds no kitchen, a very small microwave. No coffee maker, no iron or ironing board, multiple patches on the wall, rust and mold at the bottom of tub outside where it’s caulked at the floor. As soon as I took my shoes off, my socks felt wet turns out there was water or strong, moisture seeping up from the tile, and there is rust all around the bed frames. Based on the room I received the Motel room was extremely overpriced. I will not be staying there ever again. The only positive was that the motel also has a restaurant and is very close to the beach. All you gotta do is walk across the street. When the host showed me to my room, the door had to be pulled on extremely hard to open because it’s stuck and I immediately saw the room and said this is not the room I booked I booked a kitchenette with one bed, etc., etc. and he stated that they don’t have any kitchenette. They took them all out, but on their website and through all the hotel.com and other motel finders, they still list Wi-Fi, comma, kitchenettes, refrigerators, coffee, makers, etc. If this was an extremely low budget motel than I would’ve been OK with it, but this based on the amenities was supposed to be so much more I was very disappointed with my stay.

Our room was over the Flagler Fish Company. It had antique furniture and was great. There were guest that had stayed previously who told of activities from spirits thaley had encountered, so it could possibly be haunted. Definitely check it out and we will be back.

The room was just okay. Our bathroom had no mirror and our carpet made the bottom of our feet dirty, so we wore our flip flops in the room. If the owners updated the fixtures and played on the kitschiness of the hotel, it would be super cute! We did love that the hotel was right across the street from the beach and in walking distance of events at the center of town. We liked the location of the hotel and works stay there again for a short trip. If I was staying longer than a couple of days, I'd find a more updated place with more amenities to stay.

There were a number of things in our room that were broken including the sliding door which would not lock. The refrigerator was sitting on the balcony and did not run. The property was clean but in disarray. However you are getting what you pay for on the water it is not the Ritz Carlton by any means but it served its purpose and I was very happy with my stay.

The room was filthy with broken lamps, plastic bag over smoke detector, no running water in sink, stained curtains on door, bed linnens that set off an allergic reaction, old broken TV still in room along with new tv without remote. Filthy stoop, entrance to rooms behind building, disgusting chairs and cockroaches. There was no place in the room to even put something on that you wanted to keep clean, forget about an eating surface. I have ttaveled extensively in my 63 years and this was worse than a third world country. Don't stay here if you don't want to ruin your special getaway vacation like we did for our 15th anniversary.

My room was updated with nice window shades instead of the old sagging and torn drapes. Room was painted a nice lighter color and the bathroom has been improved with new fixtures, but it lacks a mirror. My rooms have always been clean when I stay here. I don't understand the negative reviews this place attracts sometimes. I've only stayed in the B building so I don't know about the others. It's not fancy but it has a view to die for. I plan to come back again.

Our room was supposed to have been “newly renovated” however, only one outlet worked in the whole room and bathroom, the TV did not work , neither did the refrigerator. There were no blankets on the bed and there was one half roll of toilet paper stocked in our room. We complained to management and they did make an attempt to switch out room, however of the two alternate rooms they showed us, one had a destroyed vanity in the bathroom and the second smelled like a wet dog had been living in the room for months. Fortunately we were credited back the $ we spent with the assistance of Hotels.com. It is beyond me how the hotel had any positive reviews.

Room very sub par. Needs deeper cleaning. Curtains broken. Door facing ripped off and gouges in the wall. Difficult to unlock door. Kitchenette but no dished or silverware. Sheets didn’t fit the bed.
Bed was comfortable. Towels fine. Hot water great.
It should be redone before rental. We left after one night of the four.

If you wanna support a family owned place instead of mass corp this is a great place to stay. Very run down. Cockroach infested. I went to dollar general and bought a can of Lysol and roach killer. I mean, I’ve stayed in some pretty nasty cheap hotels, cheap like 50 bucks a night so you kinda expect it’s not going to be great. I recommend watching the sunset around 5:00 pm in winter if you have a room on the 2nd or 3rd floor
Some rooms have microwaves some don’t
The A/C in all rooms work well for those booking summer visits. I’ve stayed on the 2nd and 3rd floors over the last 2 years

Staff are always available, if no one is at the front desk when you arrive they will be by shortly without having to call the motel number.
The 2nd and 3rd floor have direct views of the beach.
The only disadvantage for the third floor room I stayed at was only 1 electrical outlet worked and no microwave for this room. The 2nd floor rooms usually have a microwave.

Staff are always great 2 years running, parking is usually pretty good year round except peak summer days, sometimes TV and WiFi issues and property is dated but there’s benches outside each room, the AC is easy to use and works every time. On the busiest times of the year I recommend turn right and then turn right into the backstreets to get you back head north to get to I-95 as traffic can get busy occasionally
