We were really excited to find topaz motel. We love the fact that it was beachfront and had a pool. However, this place is in desperate need of a renovation. The bathroom was very clean. There were many holes in the wall and everything was peeling up and very rundown looking.

Great location across the street from the beach! Restaurant onsite and a close walk to in town amenities. Had a balcony with a spectacular view of the ocean. Very reasonably priced. No frills and old, but with a lot of charm. Would stay there again.

The room booked had a kitchenette. Upon arrival we were informed there was no kitchenette available and that the difference in room price would be refunded. No refund was issued.

The property appears to be very active with people who appear to be long term guests moving about, often including late into the night, engaging in conversation across balconies spanning several rooms. The room looked to be unfinished, exposed floor screws in concrete that would otherwise be covered by tile, a 1/4 gap under the front door, interior deadbolt that did not lock in violation of FS 509.211, no lamps or lighting in the living area and light switches that spark. The odor in the room was permeated with stale cigarettes.

At 9 AM Saturday, July 4 we were awakened by the sound of drilling into concrete in an adjacent room.

Code enforcement should be notified of the obvious violations on this property. There is not a rating low enough for this property. I understand it can be difficult if the owners are dealing with a slow renovation, but at a minimum make sure the unit is clean, which it was not as confirmed by the attached images.

Listen, the hotel is dated, but we love it! The beds are comfortable. The beach is right across the street. The front desk staff were very nice. We've stayed here before and we will continue to choose Topaz Motel.

I booked a kitchenette and when I arrived they told me it's been 6 or 7 months that they took them out. No coffee pots no microwave just a fridge. They are trying to update the rooms but ours was still pretty ruff

I have only stayed here once & it was in the old original part of the building. I guess I'll start with the POSITIVES the staff was very friendly, the bed sheets, carpet/floors & tub/sink were clean, it was very quiet & safe area. It had a restaurant on the property, which was run by a different company all together, the food was amazingly good, tad pricy but not much more than any other seafood restaurant around. Directly across from the beach as all hotels in this town are, quick 2 min. walk to get there. It's also at the end of the beach/hotel/public area so seams semi-private which is nice. NEGATIVES it's old and run down, clean, but needs some help lol. It was to the point of being laughable by the time me and co-worker got done looking at it all. We had adjoining rooms & I couldn't open my door to hers due to no doorknob so she had to open both. I had a light fixture over my bed hanging on by the wires only, big gap in the door leading to the balcony, pretty sure there were rotten boards on the balcony but was covered w/ portable tiles, decor was sad. Her bed was jacked up so high she had to jump to get in, they did supply a stool for it though. NO elevators. Pictures in the stairwell were old 1900's & creeped my friend out lol.
For me I'm just at a hotel for a bed & shower & don't intend to hang out in my room, so as long as it's clean & safe, I'm ok most times. Oddly enough I would stay here again, hence the 4 stars lol

We checked in by just giving the clerk at desk our name and our reservation was pulled up. Nothing else and we got a key. Usually you fill out some paperwork such as car tag number and give them our driver's license. The good thing was we got to check in earlier than 3:00 pm.
Restaurant was great. Place is old so it came with good things and a few maintenance issues. Would have been great if we had at least a coffee make in room or down in lobby.

Great location. Felt like you were in a museum in main motel. Great few of ocean from our balcony.

Cheap room by the beach, if u dont care about room cause you are off enjoying life then this is the spot for you. I had to wipe down fridge with a towel, it had black mold spots on outside of it but the sliding door was also open when we go to room so possibly dirt came in that way. Perfect stay for beach access, close walk to gas station and or other places to eat/drink

It is my favorite spot. I come here every year. The price is more than reasonable. You are on the beach. There is a pool and a restaurant on premises. I don’t know what more you could ask for staff is very helpful and give you everything you need.

Keep your expectations low, but it’s oddly a great place to stay if you are there for the beach. The bedding is cheap, the furniture is old and the newest thing in there was the tv. But it’s directly across from the beach, it was quiet, and the food at the attached restaurant was phenomenal.

It’s one of the most affordable stays in the area for a reason. If you want luxury, this place isn’t for you. The bathroom reminded me of a public pool shower stall with a bit more room, but that makes perfect sense if you are beach goer. Makes clean up easier too.

Would definitely stay again, but wouldn’t recommend to just anybody. The restaurant and the beach are the attraction.

I love the Topaz Motel because it’s super affordable and it’s beachfront with an amazing restaurant attached to it. Best peel-and-eat shrimp in town! Is it a resort? No. Is it a great place to stay when you’re in a bind and need a safe and beautiful to stay? absolutely, yes.

Room was clean. Half the room and bathroom were updated. New tile. You can tell they are in process of updating the property. Our curtions had holes in them. Bed was decent. Front desk was really helpful with extra towels, pillows, blankets and whatever else we needed. Love the beach view and access.

We stayed in the main converted house. The room was very cool with antique furnishings, a very comfy bed, and a nice balcony with a nice beach view. The one thing that needs improvement is that the old hardwood floor needs to be stripped and refinished badly. The ancient finish has become sticky and quickly soils bare feet. However, this did not hamper our enjoyment.

After 4 rooms, I was able to find somewhat of an appropriate accommodation. The first room had outlets hanging out of the wall, an extension cord going across the floor. No outlets worked. The floor was disgusting and the bedding was discolored and torn. They sent me to a 2nd room to look at and the whirlpool would not shut off. Switches were missing cover plates or no switch was present. The room was dirty and the floor looked like there was urine around the bathroom stool. Room 3 had wall lights falling out and hanging by the wire and was very dirty. Room 4 was at least clean but had several items damaged including the hair dryer hanging off the wall, the support bar into the shower was ripped away from the wall, the fan vent cover was hanging off the ceiling, the threshold was busted up and the outlet sparked anytime you tried to plug in something. I had two other individuals that were renting a room for the weekend and both had to be transferred to another room as well. Neither of them stayed the second night as the AC did not work among other safety issues. I highly suggest to stay away from this place. The pictures and reviews on line are not real! Had I been able to cancel, I would have but the owner said I could not because I booked through Expedia. Horrible service and disgusting rooms that are health hazards.

As mentioned in reviews, on very hot days, the AC struggled to keep the entire room cool. I brought a 12 inch fan and put on nightstand beside bed, and was comfortable. I had no issues with parking. The Internet was iffy. I switched to hotspot.

Front Desk still has plexiglass covid barrier so it was hard to understand what the clerk was saying. Bathroom was the issue. It had no mirror. Half a roll of toilet paper when I checked in, no spare roll hidden anywhere. Toilet seat was only connected by one hinge. No overhead light fixture, just a table lamp sitting on the sink. No lampshades, and only one light bulb and one empty socket.

The rooms are basic, actually okay for cheap crash site after beach days, BUT there are extended stay type situations. My first night, SUNDAY night people partied till 3am. No staff to be found. Final two nights (non-refundable) a bit better. Go to party or bring noise canceling headphones (how i survived)

We got to stay in the main building which is on top of the Flagler seafood company. This gave an old mansion vibes. Our room was really big and had access to an ocean view balcony. The restaurant serves some of the best seafood around. I gave overall 5 stars experience.

The room I booked was a single queen bed with a kitchenette, coffee maker, basic utensils, etc. etc. what I got was a room with two beds no kitchen, a very small microwave. No coffee maker, no iron or ironing board, multiple patches on the wall, rust and mold at the bottom of tub outside where it’s caulked at the floor. As soon as I took my shoes off, my socks felt wet turns out there was water or strong, moisture seeping up from the tile, and there is rust all around the bed frames. Based on the room I received the Motel room was extremely overpriced. I will not be staying there ever again. The only positive was that the motel also has a restaurant and is very close to the beach. All you gotta do is walk across the street. When the host showed me to my room, the door had to be pulled on extremely hard to open because it’s stuck and I immediately saw the room and said this is not the room I booked I booked a kitchenette with one bed, etc., etc. and he stated that they don’t have any kitchenette. They took them all out, but on their website and through all the hotel.com and other motel finders, they still list Wi-Fi, comma, kitchenettes, refrigerators, coffee, makers, etc. If this was an extremely low budget motel than I would’ve been OK with it, but this based on the amenities was supposed to be so much more I was very disappointed with my stay.

Our room was over the Flagler Fish Company. It had antique furniture and was great. There were guest that had stayed previously who told of activities from spirits thaley had encountered, so it could possibly be haunted. Definitely check it out and we will be back.

The room was just okay. Our bathroom had no mirror and our carpet made the bottom of our feet dirty, so we wore our flip flops in the room. If the owners updated the fixtures and played on the kitschiness of the hotel, it would be super cute! We did love that the hotel was right across the street from the beach and in walking distance of events at the center of town. We liked the location of the hotel and works stay there again for a short trip. If I was staying longer than a couple of days, I'd find a more updated place with more amenities to stay.

There were a number of things in our room that were broken including the sliding door which would not lock. The refrigerator was sitting on the balcony and did not run. The property was clean but in disarray. However you are getting what you pay for on the water it is not the Ritz Carlton by any means but it served its purpose and I was very happy with my stay.

Room was in ruffles shape. Killed a palmento bug in bath 🛁.. the tube itself was very worn very soft and spongy tub floor, shower tiles are all cracked. No hot water in bathroom sink . The room was filthy with broken lamps, plastic bag over smoke detector, no running water in sink, stained curtains on door, bed linnens that set off an allergic reaction, old broken TV still in room along with new tv without remote. Filthy stoop, entrance to rooms behind building, disgusting chairs and cockroaches. There was no place in the room to even put something on that you wanted to keep clean, forget about an eating surface. I have ttaveled extensively in my 63 years and this was worse than a third world country. Don't stay here if you don't want to ruin your special getaway vacation like we did for our 15th anniversary.

My room was updated with nice window shades instead of the old sagging and torn drapes. Room was painted a nice lighter color and the bathroom has been improved with new fixtures, but it lacks a mirror. My rooms have always been clean when I stay here. I don't understand the negative reviews this place attracts sometimes. I've only stayed in the B building so I don't know about the others. It's not fancy but it has a view to die for. I plan to come back again.

Our room was supposed to have been “newly renovated” however, only one outlet worked in the whole room and bathroom, the TV did not work , neither did the refrigerator. There were no blankets on the bed and there was one half roll of toilet paper stocked in our room. We complained to management and they did make an attempt to switch out room, however of the two alternate rooms they showed us, one had a destroyed vanity in the bathroom and the second smelled like a wet dog had been living in the room for months. Fortunately we were credited back the $ we spent with the assistance of Hotels.com. It is beyond me how the hotel had any positive reviews.

Room very sub par. Needs deeper cleaning. Curtains broken. Door facing ripped off and gouges in the wall. Difficult to unlock door. Kitchenette but no dished or silverware. Sheets didn’t fit the bed.
Bed was comfortable. Towels fine. Hot water great.
It should be redone before rental. We left after one night of the four.
