What a lovely hotel! The staff were so helpful and friendly. They were able to answer all our questions and provided some excellent dinner recommendations.
The location was perfect for us with many sights within 30 minutes walking distance (Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, Spanish Steps, Borghese Park & Gallery).
It's also very close to Termini station.
The rooms were clean, beds comfortable and the shower room was well laid out with shelves and hooks in all the right places.
The roof terrace is a great extra feature. A lovely peaceful place to sit after a busy day, before getting ready to go out for dinner. There's also a fridge at reception where you can buy refreshments to take up to the terrace.
Breakfast was really good value and provided everything you could want.
I would definitely stay here again without hesitation.

The room we had was in their annexe. No real problem just 2 flights up but there was a lift if required albeit quite tight inside. Rooms cleaned daily and well stocked as required. We used our own but it was there if required. Breakfast was very good with scrambled eggs and frankfurter sausages for hot. Plenty of variety for cold meats, boiled eggs, cereals, yogurt, machine coffee and hot water for tea. Plenty of cakes. There are many restaurants in the area including recommended by the hotel, Strada Romana just round the corner. For cheaper local pizzeria was Del Secolo, massive choice, freshly made, excellent prices and a really friendly young lady serving who couldn't do enough for us. Termini railway station is a max of 15 min walk away. Once you get your bearings it can be done in 10 mins providing you only have hand luggage. All in all great value for money. Would recommend this hotel.

The service by staff at this hotel was exceptionally good. There was a woman at the front desk who gave me advice on where to go and how to get there each morning. Housekeeping did a great job. My room was nicely laid out with wood paneling and artwork. The bathroom is very clean and the shower worked perfectly. There is a grocery store just a block away and many options for laundry in the immediate vicinity. The area seems quite safe yet it's not far from the train station. This is truly a good option if you're thinking spending any time in Rome.

Room view not inspiring. Overlooked by residential flats but quiet enough. Housekeeping wasn’t always consistent in detail but always very clean. Staff friendly enough. As a vegan the availability of Soya milk was appreciated. Just have to ask. The shower was probably one of the best we’ve had in any hotel. The tea-making facilities were good but the instant coffee……ugh!! All in all a pleasant stay in a clean hotel at a fair price point.

A really nice hotel in a lovely old building with the bonus of a good location. Convenient to Rome Termini station, where you can get metro, sightseeing buses and taxis. The breakfast at the hotel was very good and value for money. Staff very friendly and helpful. We had rooms in a separate part of the building but this was not an issue.

Very professional and competant 24/7 staff. They were happy to help with any questions. Felt very safe as a solo female traveller. I was also very grateful they obliged willingingly for me to leave bags in a separate secure area after checking out. The accomodation is split between 2 premises, a few doors from the main reception. I wasnt aware of this when I booked and initially felt a little removed from the 24/ 7 security. However, this proved to be of no concern. I didnt have breakfast so cannot comment. I didnt use the rooftop area as this was located in the main building. The beds were very comfortable. A fridge and kettle were very appreciated. The bathroom was well appointed and very clean. The cleanliness is rated very highly. The room faced a non descript courtyard and was extremely quiet with new soundproof windows. I loved the old world charm of the room and felt like I was in Rome when I woke up. Very easy to get to from the Rome Termini...either catch a train a few stops or a bus 2 stops...or walk..(.my bags were a bit large for me to do that). The access to train and buses connect you with all that is on offer in Rome...or a lovely walk into Rome central is also highly recommened.. ( which I did at 3pm on an August afternoon)...walking comfortably to St Maria Maggoire and then onto the Colloseum. I then caught the train from here back to the hotel. A well stocked supermarket was in short walking distance. I didnt eat out.All in all a great premises to begin y

There is a tiny old-style lift, helpful for transferring your luggage but otherwise we used the stairs. Many food options in the area and very easy walk to/from Roma Termini station.

We stayed for one night. Wanted to be close to Termini station, so we could easily catch our train to the airport the next day. This hotel is on a quiet street, just a 15 minute walk to the station. Close to the B line metro station, 3 stops to the Collesium.
The room was clean and AC worked well for the hot weather. Fixtures/bathroom are slightly dated, but everything was clean and comfortable. Beds were comfortable and spacious. The check-in staff was very friendly and helpful.

The property was undergoing some exterior renovation when we arrived, so had to get around scaffolding to get to the front desk. Then because we arrived 3 hours earlier (not their fault, we landed from our flight earlier) we had to hang around the lounge and rooftop terrace area until the room was ready, we were exhausted and it wasn’t comfortable to hang around for an extended amount of time. Once our room was ready we did not expect we were in an adjoining building, but that was ok, we felt safe. The twin room we rented was smaller than expected, but comfortable for only 2 people and it all felt clean and comfortable for the 2 nights we would stay for. When you travel sleep is important, and for the most part we rested well, be both nights we could hear outside noises, very early in the morning, either motor vehicles passing or what sounded like garbage collection outside. So it did break up the sleep a bit, otherwise the property was very well located, 10min walk to Termini station or 5 min to Metro. Very convenient, I would still stay here again.

We had a view in the backyard and it was nice.
5 minutes walking to metro station and 8 minutes walking to Main Train Station so no need to rent a car to stay there! We were able to visit Rome without any problems.
Around the corner of a pastry store where we could eat a nice breakfast in the morning and close to BRAMBLE Restaurant where we really enjoyed dinner. Thank you Hotel des Artistes!

Noisy, Overpriced, Better Options Nearby

Our stay at Hotel Des Artistes was poor. First off, the room we were given wasn’t even in the main hotel. Instead, it was in a separate building down the street, which felt more like booking a Airbnb or apartment than staying at a hotel. This was never mentioned during booking.

The room itself was a huge letdown—small, outdated, and uncomfortable. Our room was located right next to the staff supply room, and we were woken up every morning from noise and moving around. On top of that, the noise from nearby buildings was regular , and we were often woken up at 5:30 a.m. most mornings because of it.

I don’t usually leave negative reviews, but I felt it was necessary this time given what we received for the price paid, and the fact that the room wasn’t even in the main hotel building.

Enjoyed our stay, but be aware that the wifi was a bit patchy, and you can't book taxis to ciampino airport from the desk (this may be the same at other places, but meant we had to find a taxi stand as there were no available taxis when leaving). We chose it because it is close to Roma Termini (10 mins walk) with endless of restaurant options nearby. Front Desk staff was friendly and check-in was prompt. We requested high floor but were given a room on the 2nd floor.

Our room was probably the smallest room type as there wasn’t any space to even open our suitcase but it has a small balcony overlooking the inside courtyard. The decor is classic Italian and was done tastefully, plenty of electrical outlets for our devices; a mini fridge, a kettle for coffee & tea, good closet space to put our clothes; the bathroom is decent size with a small shower stall good bath amenities, although a soap dish would be helpful. I must say the room is very clean and the bed was comfortable.

Our room rate didn’t include breakfast and we paid €9 each for a buffet breakfast that could easily cost us €19 at other hotels as food was abundance and the staff were friendly and attentive.

All in all we enjoyed our stay and we would come back or recommend my clients to stay here.

The hotel was pretty good! We stayed for only one night. The room had AC, nice bed, and good bathroom. The person who checked us in was very nice and offered help. The only inconvenient we had was that our room key did not work. They brought the maintenance guy to fix it, but he did not want to fix it and said it was not a maintenance issue. The person at the front desk had to give us his own key so we could access our room without a problem. The front desk was very nice to us, but the maintenance employee did not care about it. It was a good hotel for a reasonable price. It is also well located close to Termini station.

The room was fine but not in the main building, the problem is that we arrived at midnight and after picking up the keys and doing the check in in another sister hotel we had to find the entrance of the building where our bedroom was and the indications they gave us were not too precise! Also at night you cannot see the number “10” or the slot where to introduce the key… we lost 20 minutes finding it!!

Apart from that, room was fine and very quiet, the mattress was fantastic. Since I was sick for three days in Rome and I could not visit it, at least staying in that quiet room with a good bed was a good choice after all.
But please give better indication to people who arrive late at night 🙏

Was advertised a room with a larger, newer renovated bathroom but not given that when we checked in. Spoke with front desk staff (who were nice) and when I showed them the pictures of the advertised room, they acted like they’d never seen a room which looked like it. So, it’s pretty clear that the hotel is using the pictures of a different, nicer hotel. False advertising. Other than that, you can hear the door of every room slamming closed 24hr/day.

Staff was apologetic and kind and maid staff was thorough. Unfortunately it’s a 1 star hotel and worth maybe half of what I paid.

We chose the Hotel des Artistes because it was walking distance from Roma Termini and it was affordable. It was just what we had hoped: an easy walk from the train station, a friendly multi-lingual staff, a clean, newly renovated room with a firm bed and nice linens. They have an elevator and allow you to store your luggage while you explore Rome. The only drawback is that the rooms are small, but for short stays, who cares?

Perfect Stay

The hotel it’s perfect for a family trip. I booked a triple room. I felt at home. The hotel is cosy and nicely located - close to Termini Station and at the corner of Carlos Pretorio Station. Massive options of restaurants to enjoy the Italian life at a nice price. In the room there is a British plug option - you don’t need to bring or adapter. Also, there are USB ports - convenient to charge your phone. The breakfast was nice with a range of options - like bread, cakes, juices, cheese, ham, fruit, etc. The whole team of staff gave us a good experience and gave a good knowledge of customer service.
