It’s a simple hotel. If you just need a place to stay in after a long day of touring the city and you don’t really care about luxurious amenities then this hotel would be fine. Check in and check out was easy, they do charge a tax upping check in but it was less then 50$ USD .the room is small and not bad for one person. There’s a few tapas and super markets in walking distance. The city center is about a 20’mins walking and traveling to anywhere in the city is easy with the unlimited options of transportation. I am sad to be leaving Barcelona but it was a wonderful stay.

Stayed at Hotel Best Aranea and overall had a decent experience mainly because of its convenient location. The hotel is in a safe and quiet area, and it’s very walkable to major attractions like Sagrada Família, which is about a 10-minute walk away. It is also close to metro stations and bus stops, making it easy to get around Barcelona.

The front desk staff were professional, but they were not particularly friendly or very helpful compared to other hotels.

Breakfast was a positive highlight with a good variety of options, including pastries, fruits, eggs, and other buffet items.

The room was clean but not very spacious, which might be expected in many European hotels. One disappointment was that we requested a queen bed but were given twin beds, and the hotel did not really try to accommodate the request.

Overall, it’s a good choice if you want a safe, well-located hotel with decent breakfast, but the small room size and lack of flexibility with bed requests were drawbacks.

Make sure you check that your room has a window with street view and not looks at a blind wall at the back. There was no mention of this in the description. The buffet breakfast was below average, the scrambled eggs were always cold and watery and fruit was hit and miss what was available. The staff was super friendly and helpful.

The room is clean and so is the entire hotel. Breakfast is abundant and decent (hot and cold). Wonderful staff. Perfect location: walkable to public transportation and local attractions like the Sagrada (11 minute walk). Cafes, restaurant, laundry bar and groceries are just next door to the hotel. There’s a public construction going on outside the hotel and it was unappealing. Otherwise, I had a wonderful time in Barcelona in this hotel.

Just a small suggestion — it would be nice if the air conditioning could be a bit cooler at night, as my wife felt a little warm while sleeping.

Not impressed, slightly below average for a 3 star hotel. The hotel building is OK. Bed comfort has important shortfalls. For them a king bed is using 2 single beds together with the sheets being too small for this size, so they do not fit properly and also 2 people canot be properly covered by the blankets. TV is really really tiny. The electronic thermostat changes nothing, so you have no control of the room temperature. The breakfast is well below average for Spain; on top of the limited food selection they do not keep the food warm, so scrambled eggs, bacon, potatoes are cold and undercooked. The service and cleanliness are OK.

Room was just OK, they play a game between what is shown on pics compared to what they actually give you. Mgr is a painful person as he made us wait tilll 3 PM to check in which bit into our short 2 night stay in Barcelona. We left hotel at noon and had to come back to check in then start again. Breakfast was well worth pre-paying as food in Barcelona is ridiculous. each coffe in a restaurant is 1.5 euro & sandwich is 5 euro so at 9 euro this is very good to eat at hotel before you leave. Good choices/clean.

The hotel is conveniently located by Sagrada Familia and the metro station, about 9 minutes walk. The 24-hr front desk staff was great upon check-in/out. The room is small but still spacious enough for two people to fully unpack. We had daily housekeeping and got fresh towels, even when we planned on reusing the towels. The rooms are not sound proofed but we couldn’t hear our neighbors at all. We slept well at night. The bathroom is quite large with a tub/shower with a moveable glass door that you must place it in a specific position ensuring the base rubber is pointing towards the tub to avoid water spillage everywhere. I get that they tried to make the glass as a door, but being a tub, I don’t see how this is needed or would work well. Even with our best efforts, we still had quite significant amount of water leaking after showers. We found some mold behind the toilet as it’s installed so close to the wall that it must be hard to properly clean it. Outside of that, everything else was very good. The hotel offers breakfast at an additional charge but we did not have any as we wanted to try the local restaurants and shops. But it’s a nice to have option, specially if you are running short on time. Overall this was a good value, specially for the area.

The hotel is conveniently located near tourist sites such as the Sagrada Familia and Casa Battlo. It is well-suited for professionals who are looking for a corporate style hotel. The room was clean and large enough since I had booked a double room. Staff, except for Sunday late afternoon arrival employee, who seemed irritated when I asked how to use the vending machine and other questions - all other staff were very helpful and friendly. The buffet was good, though missing lettuce to go along with the vegetables, except on Fri and Sat.

This hotel provided all we look for: clean, quiet, everything worked as it should: a/c, great shower pressure, drainage.
The breakfast had enough variety.
The location was great for us; close enough to walk to most attractions (we like to walk a lot) but it feels like a more normal neighborhood than in the heart of the touristic old town.
There were many great choices for restaurants within a few blocks in every direction.
No complaints!

The bathroom was modern and had good touches like the shower gel /shampoo etc.
good location and easy to get to, no issues with checking or checkout.

Breakfast was good but for me as a vegan wasn’t the best - there was minimal things I could eat on the buffet. Although there was soy milk available which was a bonus, not many options in the actual buffet.
But we only stayed for 1 night so wasn’t a big deal.
Liked the hotel and good value for money.

We had a great experience at this hotel. The location was pretty central to a lot of the main tourist spots—Sagrada Familia was only about a 10-minute walk, and we were able to walk to Park Güell, Barceloneta Beach, and Palau de la Música, though those took more time (around 20–40 minutes each). Staff were friendly and had a great restaurant recommendation we really enjoyed. Only downside was the wifi—it wasn’t very strong. Overall though, good value for the price, and I’d stay here again.

The hotel’s location is great. It’s a short walk to many restaurants and cafe’s and also to the Hop on Hop off city tour. The Aranea is very clean and the staff were great. One exception was on check out, when I wasn’t asked anything about our stay. Also 4 not 5 because we felt the breakfast is very sub par. It was the exact same everyday and not very good. I would not choose the breakfast plan again. Much better options within 5 minutes of the hotel.

I chose to stay at Hotel Aranea because of how close it was to the Sagrada Familia and also the Monumental metro station (about a 10 minute walk for each place). Breakfast was the standard European Continental style with some American scrambled eggs and bacon. I felt pretty safe walking around the surrounding area. The only negative thing is that the shower stall feels like a phone booth, which made showering a bit of a challenge. Overall, I would consider staying here again when I come back to Barcelona.

We liked the area and how walkable it was. Hotel was nice but I will say it’s not a super big bang for your buck. Definitely quiet and clean but our AC didn’t really work. Most of the staff was kind but didn’t really go above and beyond or show any sympathy. Kind of seemed like they didn’t really care. We were only there one night and while it wasn’t necessarily bad, I would not book again. If so, make sure you are arriving right at check in time or have a plan to not really be in the hotel. This experience could be slightly skewed but I feel like you can find better elsewhere.

Lovely hotel in the centre of Barcelona, it was very clean and the facilities in the room were modern. The staff were friendly and helpful. Aircon in the room worked perfectly. The roof terrace was a nice place to go and read in the sun. My only issue was that I could hear the people in the room next door. Overall I would definitely use this hotel again when visiting barcelona .

Decent location. Breakfast buffet was nice. I am noticeably pregnant and asked the woman at the front desk if there was anywhere I could fill my water bottle, she said \"No, but you can fill your water outside from the street fountain\" I did not seeing as there were birds bathing in there previously and later found out that drinking that water can make you seriously ill.

This hotel exceeded our expectations. The staff was always ready to help and the breakfast was very good. The best thing is the proximity to so many places! We walked to Sagrada Familia, Casa Batlló, La pedrera, we even walked to Arco del Triunfo and to Barceloneta beach! Great location and very affordable hotel. Would definitely stay again. We read reviews mentioning the area is loud and that the air conditioning is not cool enough, we didn’t experience anything like that. The rooms were very clean, plenty of towels and even had water for us.

So 10 minutes after entering their lobby we had a backpack stolen. Even though we knew of very high incidence of pickpockets still did not expect it from inside the hotel. Yes they did have signs saying be careful around lobby but when your trying to checkin you don’t notice. Since we both had to sign checkin we left luggage just 6 feet behind us still someone came in and switched our backpack for an empty one filled with trash. So all caught on cctv which we weren’t allowed to see also requested to speak to hotel manager but even with a 5 night stay that never happened. So seems laws in Barcelona are such that no attempt to stop theft is made. Still person at checin could have warned us not to leave bags unattended. Lobby had large windows very close to street and use of blinds to block view would have helped. Also no elevator security did not have to use key card to use it so anyone could have access to rooms. Otherwise excellent location easy walking to all the main sights and lots ofbars and restaurants within blocks. Clean decent breakfast nice roof view but odd design on corner gave us a view of a brick wall. Warning you are never safe anywhere in Barcelona but it is one of the most beautiful cities on earth.

The staff were incredibly kind and helpful. This review is solely based on the room itself. It’s TINY. My partner and I only had 2 carry on bags and 2 personal bags but were unable to open our bags and have any room to move around. It was extremely claustrophobic. The room was also very run down and did not look like the pictures at all. We felt so uncomfortable here that we decided to check out early and find a new hotel.
