My husband and I came to visit our daughter in law who live nearby. It is a great little neighborhood of many wholesale clothing stores! The service at the hotel was excellent and the room very comfortable.

With little attention to detail 10 out of 10

Everything was perfect appart from bed sizes. We requested double bed for us. But we were given tripple room with beds bigger than sigle bed, but couple would struggle sleep together. If we wanted to joind beds it would block bathroom door. So we had to sleep seperately

Nıce hotel close to the publıc transportatıon

My dentist recommended me to stay at this hotel in order to be close to the clinic. I stayed for 3 weeks there. Hotel is clean, staff is friendly and helpful. Coffee and tea all day long. 5 mins walk to the metro, trams and metrobuses. You can take either of them if you decide to go sightseeing. Ataturk airport is 10/15 mins away if you take Metro. Overall I loved it.

Very pleasant for a business stay

This is a great hotel for business travel. I found the room to be very clean and spacious. The breakfast buffet was very ample and the dinner delicious. The only drawback is the noise level in the area but I guess this unavoidable in a city like Istanbul.

how close to airport?

looking at maps of locations dont always help you realise, as in this case, that the hotel is twenty minutes in the taxi despite being listed under a heading of 'Airport Hotel'.

Nice hotel, not ideal for early morning flight

Its located pretty close to the airport metro line and so if you have a flight later in the day, its convienent for getting to the airport. Mine was early morning so I had to taxi, there was no traffic at the time so it cost 22 turkish lera and took about 20 minutes. Staff was great

The receptionist was friendly and courteous. The room was clean and comfortable! The breakfast, which is included in the price, was excellent with a large variety. The hotel is close to the airport and is excellent for connecting to additional flights the next day. I would recommend this hotel.

Old hotel and needs much improvement.

The hotel was in remodeling and the room smells like an ash tray. Service was marginal. Breakfast was so so! The elevator was used for remodeling instead of servicing the guests. When I ask about the construction noise, they did not feel apologetic at all.

Perfect hotel close to the airport

Convenient Prices, friendly personnel, easy to reach the airport via public transport (15-20 mins), restaurant is quite nice. The only drawback was that the rooms were a little bit too warm. Besides that, I can only recommend it.

Great experience

This hotel has probably the best staff of any hotel that I have ever been to. I travel almost every week of the year for business to many different countries. I stay in many hotels but the service at the Gunes is impressive. Thanks to Ali and the whole staff, I and many other guests will return as loyal customers.

The hotel is nice but...

The service is great, we arrived very early and they invite us to eat breakfast and by the time that we have finished the room was ready for us. The room is okay, clean and nice. Two main issues - this is not in the airport , you need to take the Metro and travel for 5 stops. Second issue is that the room was very hot, and since we came at the end of the winter they did not activate the cooling mode, It was VERY HOT!

Not really an airport hotel.

I would conditionally recommend this hotel. The positives were that the hotel staff were very friendly and helpful and the rooms were nice and it was affordable. The negatives were that the location is not really that close to the airport (it is at the Merter Metro stop, 7 stops away from the airport, ~20 mins) and the neighborhood that the hotel is in is pretty questionable. I didn't feel unsafe, but I didn't feel particularly comfortable being outside after dark either (and I'm a 6'5\" guy). I think the trip to the airport is a little shorter if you take a taxi, but not by that much.

So, if you have a little bit of time to get to the airport and don't plan on wandering around too much in the neighborhood, then I would highly recommend this hotel. If you want to roll out of bed and be at the airport in 10-15, then this place probably isn't for you.

Not The Best Option for the paid price

1- This hotel is way below 4 stars.
2- I went in May and it was really hot inside the room, I went to the hotel receptions and told them , they said we only have one system either heating or air-conditioning . Open the Window and live with it. ( the window doesn't open fully ) .
3- I didn't feel comfortable, very nosy people and the price is double what the location and the hotel deserves. Too many managers running around the lobby and making noises.
4- Fortunately, I was on a business trip . If you are going as tourist , you will suffer there , it will take you at leas an hour to reach sultan Ahmed area in the tram way and it is very crowded. Taxi will cost you 15 to 20 $ and roads are really jammed.
4- Good breakfast buffet and good few individuals who work there.

Airport Gunes Hotel is 10 min from the Airport

It was an excellent hotel and it is located only 10 minutes with a Taxi from the airport (If it´s not any accidents or rush hour) and the stuff were more than helpful. I was checking out at 5:00 Am and i got my breakfast anyway. (ordinary time 06:00-10:00) thats service in my eyes.
They also had Massage service in the room if you like that.

Airport Gunes - Not what I expected

The hotel is clean and not out of line for the cost. It's out of the way and expect it to cost $30 - $45 E for the cab from the airport and another $40 to travel anywhere exciting. The only restaurants within a reasonable walk is Mcdonalds or Burger King (Im not joking). The front desk is ok but the (spelt wrong Im sure) Concierge is a fantastic young man and picked up the slack for the rest of the hotel. Last comment, dont order a drinks at the hotel lobby bar without taking out a mortgage first.. All in all.. wouldnt tell a friend to stay there.

Convenient to Airport; Great Place to Stay

I use the Airport Gunes Hotel whenever my layover in Istanbul is too long to stay at the airport but too short to explore the city. Its location is very convenient, the rooms are clean and comfortable, and the rates are very reasonable. The Merter area is very commercial and modern (not really conducive to enjoying the historical aspects of Istanbul), but all in all it is a very nice hotel and very convenient for transit passengers who don't want to spend hours at the airport between flights.

Not a bad place for transit hotel

I stayed in this hotel whilst in transit. It is a good option after a long flight and close enough to the airport. It was roughly 25 TL (maybe 20 mins) from the airport by taxi. Room was clean, quiet and breakfast a typical affair for Turkey. I am unsure how convenient it is for the metro or getting to main city tourist area.

I arrived at 1100 and was given the key to the room. They did not make me wait until 2 pm.
The staff were helpful. The food was good and plentiful. The hotel was busy.
Check out was a snap and the reception staff were excellent. I would recommend this hotel and I would stay there again

Hotelde ki tek mükemmel şey temiz olması, akşam ki resepsiyonda bulunan arkadaş çok ilgisiz, odaya kadar eşlik eden çalışan da sanırım bahşişi beğenmedi surati asıldı :) kahvaltı orta derece yani ne bileyim eski ve köklü olan bir hotelde bunlar beni şaşırttı. Temizlik konusuyla ilgili arkadaşlara teşekkür etmek istiyorum.

Personeel zijn aardig vooral schoonmaak dienst, sportschool is waardloos ( 2 oude apparatuur en vies plek op de dak), spa en massage is niet ( dicht en verlaten plek) ontbijt moet vroeg bij zijn als je half uur voor de tijd komt dan alles is op en wordt niet bijgevuld. Kamer die ik heb gehad is heel eeg klein met een heel kleine raampje ( krijg benauwdheid van)

Das Hotelpersonal ist sehr nett und zuvorkommend. Aber das Hotel an sich ist eine Katastrophe. In den Zimmern wurde geraucht (egal ob Raucher oder Nichtraucherzimmer). Die Einrichtung ist alt und vergilbt. In dieser Preisklasse gibt es deutlich komfortablere Hotels.

Güzel ama bazı eksikler var.

Biraz eski gibi fakat güzel bir hotel, banyosu temiz ve güzeldi.
Yatak gayet rahat.
Fakat oda içi biraz basık gibi camı boydan planlasalar daha iyi olabilirdi.
Temizdi fakat içmek için ikram su yoktu olsa iyi olabilirdi.

Güneş Otel'de 2 gece solo konaklama gerçekleştirdim. Odanın ve banyonun temizliği bayağı iyiydi. Yatak konforluydu. Otel çalışanları kibar, güler yüzlü ve hızlıca yardımcı oluyorlar.

Tek olumsuz nokta oteldeki internet hızı idi. 1.3 Mbps indirme hızı mevcuttu.

Wir hatten das Kompaktzimmer und es fand sich hier ein sehr komfortables Doppelbett, saubere Bettwäsche, schönes und sauberes Badezimmer. Das Personal war sehr freundlich. Nur war es zu warm im Zimmer durch die Zentralheizung.
