It was the most terrible experience of our life. We paid more than $700 /night but the place was not even 1*
The room was small, ants crawling and small washroom with no towels. We are both over 65 and hotel was on a mountain. We want a full REFUND.

Extremely disgusting place to stay... We booked a non-smoking room but they put us in a smoking room. I couldn't breathe and felt like I was suffocating in the tiniest hotel room... I did complain, but they said they had no other room available.. The bathroom had a strong smell of a toilet leak... It was so gross and they had an open shower with just a curtain slmost touching the dirty toilet. Never ever stay here!!!! The staff was also terrible and did not speak English..or pretended to.

I had a great stay at Elaf Ajyad Hotel. Everything was excellent from start to finish. The reception staff were very welcoming and professional, especially Anas,Turki and Abdullah, who were outstanding and always happy to help with anything.The kitchen workers were also very kind and helpful, and the room cleaning service was excellent. Highly recommend this hotel for anyone staying in Makkah as it’s very close and a buggy from the hotel to take them up and down.

Very dirty, low quality furnished and poorly maintained room.
Very small room with bathroom exceptionally tiny, even by small-room standards.
The bathroom was cramped and poorly designed. The shower curtain constantly clung to me while bathing, and the toilet was placed so close to the wall that there was insufficient legroom, making it impossible to sit comfortably.

Firstly not recommended for elders with knee problem or walking issue,hotel is on a hill and shuttle service is a waste of time, when arrived I paid in advance for a good room gave me a room on 13 floor no escalator after 12 floor had to walk a floor up was told in morning will change room , morning came try to brush me off saying no rooms was not having it gave me a room on 12 floor ,carpet was dirty,5 night no room house if keeping called twice reception said some is coming, last day spotted room service told them off ,then gave me new towels and toilet paper and still no water bottles ,overall I only chose this thing was close and not on a very steep hill,don’t recommend to anyone really take your money and did not provide the service what was promised when I get back to uk will be claiming my money back

I got allocated a disability room and when I entered the room I couldn’t even find towels !! There was a cockroach in the room too. Oh and the sink plug was broken so the sink wasn’t draining. I had to report all this to the reception. Absolutely horrible experience. Dont go.

Clean room, amazing staff. We dealt with Mr. MASLEH who was super nice and helpful and he helped resolve an issue which was from the website and it was not hotels fault, yet Mr. MASLEH helped us out. We must say Arab hospitality is sexond to none i would recommend this hotel for cleanliness and courteous service.

Also the distance to HARAM from here is about 4 minutes and we enter MATAF / KABAA right away instead of going in circles. On exiting Umra from MARWA, it is still very close to get back to the hotel. And there are always golf kart like vehicles to take you up to the hotel.

When i stayed on Ibrahim Khalil side, which was same distance to HARAM, I had to walk worth 1.5 Umras to do 1 Umra so it felt like doing 2.5 Umra. Doing Umra from this hotel was a breeze specially with family. It was totally worth it to stay at this hotel for convenience of Umra and HARAM access on top of great customer service and cleanliness and I highly recommend it and will stay again.

Location is good however it is located on up hill and makes it challenging to walk up. Golf carts runs but overloaded and unpredictable frequency.
Break fast was good but timing were short & starts late. surrounding area was noisy as there is some AC system on rooftop of next door building making a lot of noise.

For the price and location it is worth it. I would just not add breakfast add in when reserving again.

The stated linear distance from this hotel to the Haram is somewhat misleading, as the hotel is situated on a mountain, with at least 200 meters involving a steep incline. However, the hotel offers an excellent golf cart service that operates 24/7, transporting guests to the Ajyad and Azizia cross streets, from where it’s a 5-minute walk to the Haram. The rooms are spacious, though the hotel and its amenities are quite old and could benefit from renovations. The staff are friendly, and overall, it’s a good option considering the price and location.

This was a very bad experience for us. We had to leave early and didn’t complete our stay. The first room we were given was extremely dirty and smelly, with ongoing construction work on the same floor. After complaining to the staff, they changed our room, which was slightly better.

The carpets in the rooms are filthy—you can’t even pray on them—and the bathroom was broken. On top of that, the internet service was terrible. While the staff tried to help, there wasn’t much they could do, as the overall hotel amenities are dreadful.

The hotel is located on a steep incline, making it difficult to go to Al-Haram and back. The shuttle service was a joke and not reliable. I would not recommend staying here at all.

Horrible Experience due to bad Services

No service was available, No view. Rooms are very old fashioned,, it needs lots of renovation. Breakfast buffet set up was there but breakfast not available. Pay 35SAR cash and get egg and bread with coffee. Resturant was look like nobody ever sit here.
The gotel is situated on hill, they golf cart to take people down and up. But cart never moved, when i asked bellboy to drop me downhill, he said not allowed. I asked why do you have this? Sometimes Bellboy drives that cart to move the people but not often or as you required. Same as uphill. So walk is tough to do.
If you miss housekeeping then you have to wait next day and even you wont get water bottle

I stayed in tower B room 626. Cockroaches and many other little flies were there. Bed conditions were horrible. I took pictures of pillow that contains blood spot even the white covering on pillow couldn’t hide it. I booked for 10 nights but slept only for 3 nights in this hotel. No room service at all.

Hotel cannot be trusted

I booked this hotel and paid via hotel.com as i always do as am a gold customer with hotel .com On arriving at the hotel myself and brother discovered we booked too many rooms. I called hotel.com to reduce my stay on one of the rooms from 5 night to 4 night and the said no problem but the need the hotel to approve the change. I spoke with the hotel Manager (Mr Jameel) he agreed that I can check out after 1 day and that 4 nights can be refunded to me. He confirmed this to hotel.com on the phone and they asked me to check out. On checking out the room was immediately sold to another customer however I returned to the UK and Hotel.com has refused to refund me as they said the hotel manager has refused to approve a refund despite promising to refund. I believe this is a scam as the room was sold to another guest and they also refused to refund me. This hotel should be avoided as they cant be trusted. They took my money and sold my room and didn't give me a refiund.

Elaf Ajyad is a homely hotel. My spouse and I enjoyed our stay there. The staff are very helpful and polite. The breakfast buffet which came along with the bed is rich and good effort is made to introduce variety. The proximity of the hotel to the Haram is good and good effort is made to alleviate the discomfort of the elevated location of the hotel with the shuttle bus which brings guests downhill and up hill on return.
Areas to improve on:
1. The hotel is quite old and some aspects need attention. These are the furniture, the drainage system, especially floor drains in bathrooms which requre good maintainance and cleaning. However, I opine that the antic nature of the hotel should be maintained.
3. The shuttle bus service should be improved such that there is always a bus downhill. A time program can be introduced.

This is very much a no frills type of property. Please see it as just a place to get your head down whilst you are completing your Umrah. The beds were clean and bedding fresh. The rest of the room was quite dated. Bathroom in a twin room was very small with just enough room to stand up in, and only a handful of towels. The description of the hotel fails to mention it's location on a fairly steep hill. This is important as most taxi drivers will fail to find the turn off to go up it and you will have to walk up it yourself. Door staff are friendly enough and speak different languages enough to answer simple queries from different people. Reception and check in can be busy and chaotic with no queueing buy remember you are in Makkah after all. If you are on a budget this place is fine, but I would keep my expectations low for the price you pay

Unfortunately. I am very disappointed from this property. I booked it in the middle of night just for my comfort during Umrah.
Unfortunately i kept sitting for 6 Hours from 0300am Approx to 0900am on 25 June 2019 and was keep on asking hotel staff to check their system for booking confirmation.but they were simply refusing that we havent got any booking there we cant check you in. I have called Hotels.com four time during this time and got connected two time with Hotels.com team. At first time the lady kept me on hold and lost and in in the second time the lady kept me on hold and tried contacting Elaf Ajyad hotel but they were no answering to her so she said please make you check in somewhere else and i will get full refund for you.
Unfortnately i am very upset just because of this whole hassle and my family is my more with me on this.

Staying at Elaf Al Jiad - A bad experience.

The hotel is located on a very steep hilly area, which is not comfortable at all. It's not worth the money I paid which is 200 US $. The. Bath rooms are very small and full of cocroches. All in all a bad choice and recommend anybody.

the hotel is such a scam. we had a booking for two rooms and they were fighting with us for 6 hours that we only had a booking for one room and that we should pay extra although our booking was already paid!!! when we finally confronted them after contacting hotel.com with their own confirmation numbers they gave us the rooms. we booked two rooms for 7 people including two kids with each room having three beds, the room barely has a space for two people to move around. it is soooo small. the other joke is that we had the room booked and paid with breakfast and again they were fighting with us that we didnt book breakfast, when we yelled and asked for the police they decided to back off and give us our breakfast. the hotel is such a scam

This hotel is on top of a very steep hill. It’s completely unsuitable for families, particularly those with young children or elderly parents. Although the hotel does operate a shuttle service up and down the hill, it’s terribly inconvenient and not always accessible.
The second biggest issue is the WiFi. There is no WiFi in the bedrooms. You have to clamber in the reception to use the WiFi, together with dozens of others!
Otherwise, the hotel is average. Rooms are a little dated, the buffet is decent, staff are ok.

The best thing about the hotel is it’s proximity to the haram - it’s about a 6 minute walk to Masjid al-Haram, and there are shuttles every few minutes that take you to the base of the hill. The room itself was fine, but a big issue was the lack of WiFi in the hotel rooms. The bathroom was also on the smaller end, and overall the hotel felt more like a three star than a four star one.

It's a nice hotel, facilities were ok and there was nothing to complain about. The walk from the hotel to the masjid isn't too far, about 10 mins in total to get to a place inside where you can pray. It's a steep uphill walk back from the masjid though, and the placement on the map can be a little decieving, you have to walk round a little before getting to the masjid, rather than a straight walk like with Swissotel for example. If you're ok to be doing some walking, then this hotel is in a decent location, but there are of course better locations and hotels. For the price you pay, I'd say it's a nice hotel, but probably wouldn't stay here again just because of the uphill struggle and could probably get less of a struggle elsewhere for not much more expensive.

The Shuttle service was hopeless and they provide around 100 meters up and down the hill as the hotel is on height. The electric vehicles were for display only and very rarely used.
The internet was hopeless and never wirkbindige the rooms, you should come to the lobby to use that which was very slow due to heavy load.
The cleness was another issue and furniture was old.
I will never recomond to stay in this hotel.

The location is good so I would recommend to a friend assuming the are ok with going up a hill for about 2 mins and good budget hotel. There is a shuttle bus that take you up to the hotel avoiding the hill but actually quicker just to walk it.

The staff service was ok however the rooms are a bit run down. Internet was good.

I would not stay there with family/kids as it is a bit too run down.
