Where do I even begin? The room looked like it hadn’t been properly cleaned in ages. Every lamp was stained, the air conditioning didn’t work, and the bathroom was so filthy and dusty it was genuinely off‑putting. Breakfast wasn’t any better — the tea and coffee were lukewarm at best, and even after repeatedly asking for hot tea, none ever arrived.

Communication with the reception and concierge staff was nearly impossible, as they didn’t speak English, which became a real issue on my final night. All the guest lifts were scheduled to be out of service from midnight to 4 a.m., right when I needed to check out. When I asked what my options were, the staff were completely unhelpful, leaving me no choice but to check out early and sit in the lobby for hours. To make matters worse, the lobby toilets were closed for “cleaning” for five hours overnight — an absurd policy for a hotel that expects guests to wait around with no facilities available.

Housekeeping wasn’t any better. It took half an hour just to get towels, and one of them arrived stained, which perfectly matched the overall lack of care throughout the hotel.

I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Save your money and stay literally anywhere else.

This was one of the most unsafe and distressing hotel stays I’ve experienced, and I would strongly caution anyone considering booking here. I was injured inside the room after stepping on extremely sharp glass left on the floor, which resulted in a deep cut to my foot. That alone should never happen in a properly maintained hotel. It didn’t end there, the hygiene was equally concerning, with brown stains hidden beneath the pillow. When we requested basic items like towels and a blanket, the staff who came made us feel pressured for a tip, which felt uncomfortable and completely inappropriate given the circumstances.

What made this stay far worse was the complete lack of communication and care from the hotel. The person I traveled with and booked this stay alongside was detained by police for nearly two hours while trying to go to the masjid, due to restrictions related to Hijrah. At no point were we informed of any restrictions or advised on how to navigate them safely. No warning, no guidance, no support. We were left to deal with a serious situation entirely on our own. This was not just poor service, it felt negligent. I would not recommend staying here under any circumstances.

I think this hotel is over priced. Alhamdulillah I’ve had the opportunity to stay in many Makkah hotels and this by far was the toughest to get to the the breakfast was terrible.
1. Trying to get to this hotel via clock tower, there was only limited lifts that would go to p5 which made it very difficult to get to through the clock tower however if you use the entrance/ exit through ibraheem khalil road you will be fine going up and down.
2. Breakfast felt like it was left overs from dinner from the night before I.e providing curry’s etc…I understand this is intercontinental breakfast but they don’t have much of a range and I kind of lived off the cheese.
Overall it wasn’t a bad hotel in terms of stay and cleanliness but was really priced too high…I have stayed in other hotels in the clock tower and did not encounter these issues. This was a bit more expensive and I thought I would be getting more for my money hit in actual fact I got less for more money!

An excellent five star hotel which is luxurious. It has the easiest and quickest lifts to make your way to the kabah, 1 lift from reception and you are outside.

Breakfast and dinner is amazing with lots of options in the buffet. The hotel has an amazing kabah view - I would highly recommend staying at the hotel.

rooms were clean.
the only comment I want to make is about the stand shower. which didnt have a full coverage door which is why it was flowing water outside the shower area and the bathroom was getting wet. had to be very careful with that.
everything else is very good. location was perfect.

Excellent location, dedicated entrance and lifts are great. Staff are friendly. Nice rooms. Good restaurant for breakfast and dinner.

Bad:
- Very very slow wifi. It really needs upgrading. It probably hasn't been improved since the hotel was first launched in 2010.
- bathrooms in rooms are functional but worn and slightly out-dated.
- Restaurant food (huge buffet) goes cold very quickly

Would I stay here again?
Yes depending on price. The Jabal Omar hotels are much more modern and closer to the Haram.

I had an excellent experience at this hotel. Everyone was very nice, friendly, and helpful. The service and hospitality were truly outstanding.
I highly recommend this hotel to anyone coming to Makkah for Umrah or Hajj — you won’t be disappointed!

I would rate the stay as good, not excellent. The service and amenities such as water, tea, coffee, towels, and toiletries were provided generously. However, I found the room and bathroom a bit small and slightly congested. Aside from that, the overall environment and cleanliness were very good. The biggest advantage is the location—right by the Kaaba—which makes it extremely convenient for anyone who prefers not to walk long distances.

Room given to us was not what was listed. Room listed as Quaba view. The room we were put in was on the second floor with a view of a concrete wall.
We were switched to a different room with a view of the Quaba the next day, but they made us pay an extra $800.00 USD to “upgrade” us to the room we thought we were originally getting.

Originally the room we booked had 3 beds. The new “upgrade” room only had one bed.
They brought us an extra bed ( very small, my son sleeping on this bed, his feet were sticking off the end)
On top of all that, my son who slept on this bed left Mecca with bed bugs..

I really enjoyed our stay at at Swissotel. The room was clean, the breakfast and dinner options were plenty to choose from. The best part was to be able to hear the Adhan from Mesjid al haram, during times you couldn’t go to masjid. Thank you!

The hotel was a rated accurately as 4 star with all amenities provided. Connected to the mall helped with ease of getting food. Took us a couple of days figure out the way around as the entrance and exits are confusing. The room remained very cold as the thermostat wouldn’t work properly. But didn’t bother us too much. I would stay again at this property.

Location and staff are the biggest added value for this hotel . Very friendly check in process and location being in the clock tower makes the access to Kaaba 🕋 very accessible. Prayer are live audio in the room for elder amazing option to pray live from the room . Thank you for an amazing stay . Surely we will come back in the future Insha Allah .

I have stayed at this hotel 3 times and each visit has been great. I will only stay at this hotel when I go for Ummrah. Staff is outstanding to meet your every need, it is a 2 minute walk to the kaba, and the food is delicious.
