Lovely room with lake view & private balcony

My husband and I stayed here for a weekend and were very happy with the room and lake view. The mattress was firm and we enjoyed the private balcony. The only thing we noticed that detracted was that the wall was thin between our room and the room next door, so we could hear the other guests just a bit now and then. But it was quiet for sleeping and we really enjoyed our stay here.

This area gets absolute quiet after dark. Driving in dark, especially in rain/snow conditions, needs extra caution due to mountainous terrain. We were first time guests and arrived at 10 pm. Office/reception was closed by then. We did not have any problem getting into our room (instructions provided by phone message) but to reach the house we had to take guidance from neighbors who were luckily awake.

Cozy, beautiful and serene

The owner was just lovely and our stay was so peaceful! This was a business trip for me. My fiancé came along and enjoyed the kayaking and fishing right from the inn property while I was attending classes at the nearby community college. We enjoyed seeing abs hearing the loons, too.
This was a beautiful and friendly spot to begin and end my day with and I just loved the homemade muffins and fruit. There were even cute acorn shaped muffins one day! Thank you for hosting!

Wonderful stay in a beautiful lakeside setting

Kiwassa Lake B&B is lovely, quiet, and remote (though not far from the village of Saranac Lake). Our room was wonderful--generous is size, with a very comfy bed and armchairs. The views over the lake from the large living/dining room were stunning, and we had a view over rooftops to the lake from our room. Breakfast was excellent. If you're looking for a quiet place in a beautiful spot in the Adirondacks with friendly people, this is it.

Enjoy the Peace and Tranquility

It was a beautiful location with fantastic hosts. Breakfast was so good and the view of the lake was extraordinarily great. It was peaceful and quiet, especially at night on the dock & with a cup of coffee in the morning. Glorious!!! Moose room looks out in lake and is very spacious. Highly recommendable B&B.

Charming B&B in a quiet, lakefront setting

We had a wonderful stay at Kiwassa Lake B&B. I was there with my parents for the Lake Placid Iron Man. We stayed for three nights. It was a beautiful, quiet setting and a great place to relax. It is on a beautiful lake and boats are available to guests. We stayed in the unit with a double and a queen, which included a full kitchen. The unit was charming and the couches and beds were comfortable. The only downside was that there was no air conditioning and the weather was hot, so the unit was hot at night. Marjorie was a wonderful host and took care of us. This unit did not include breakfast, but she was able to accommodate us on one of the mornings anyway. Overall, I highly recommend.

Quiet and comfy

One of the nicest B & B we have stayed at. Marjorie makes you feel welcome on this pristine and beautiful lake. We stayed in the Pike room which has a lovely view of the lake and has private deck. The breakfast is one of the best, especially the apple German pancake with real maple syrup in a cute little pitcher and a fresh fruit cup. While you eat you overlook the lake and listen to soft jazz.

A gem in the Adirondacks

We were so fortunate to discover Kiwassa Lake B&B. The place is fascinatingly charming, warm, has every amenity you can think of and haven't thought of and is on a serene, quiet lake. The breakfasts were fabulous and accommodating. The town and even Lake Placid are accessible. The Cochrans are delightful.

Amazing stay

This was our second time to Kiwassa Lake B and B and we absolutely loved it! We were the only ones there for that specific weekend and Marjorie gave us an upgraded room! She is an all around amazing hostess and a fantastic cook. We will definitely be back for future visits.

Beautiful, quiet location by a lake. There is a well stocked shared kitchen area which is very useful in case you want to make tea, or coffee, or you need wine glasses etc. The room was clean and very spacious. Great place!

A Great ADK Place to Relax

My husband and I just returned from a two night stay in the Bear Room. The Cochrans were most welcoming and the B&B was very clean and nicely decorated. Each breakfast was delicious. We grew up in the Adirondacks and can tell you firsthand Kiwassa Lake is especially beautiful and quiet. The B&B was the ideal place for us to swim and kayak (kayaks and preservers available on site). Without hesitation we would love to return to this great place.

Best Place to stay near Saranac Lake

This was a great place to plan our adventures and recover after them. Idillic setting and nicely appointed room. Breakfast was a special treat. Lake was peaceful and inviting. Canoe and kayaks were available but for an added fee. This should have been included in the room charge. I would stay here again for sure.

Perfect Lake Experience

The Inn is small in number of guests but big in service and experience. We had a lovely view of the lake out our bedroom (the Pike Room) window and balcony. Breakfast was different every day and always good.

The host was always helpful, had information about what to do around Saranac and Lake Placid.

We ate at the Belvedere, the locals restaurant, and had an excellent steak, as good as any in a larger restaurant and a good dinner salad with house made dressing.

We used the canoe and paddled around the lake which is quiet without a lot of boats. Across from the inn is a reserve area so no buildings.

Will go back again.

Relaxing and Fun Times

My husband and I took a trip to the Adirondacks to escape the heat and humidity of a Kentucky summer. We stayed three nights at Kiwassa Lake Bed and Breakast and totally unplugged and unwound. Our hosts were friendly and informative and made us feel right at home. Our room had a terrific view of the lake and we enjoyed hearing the loons at night. Lovely sunsets could be enjoyed on the dock. Great canoeing and paddling right out the front door. A common kitchenette with refrigerator was very handy for our lunches and wine. And we had nice relaxing 10 minute drive into town to try some interesting and enjoyable restaurants. We only wish we lived closer!

We've stayed in the Pike Room twice; very quiet with a lovely view and rustic Adirondack touches. Marjorie made sure we had a satisfying breakfast each morning, and our rooms were immaculately clean. She had excellent suggestions for things to do in the area based on our interests. We enjoyed it so much that we're coming back for a third visit!

Spectacular Setting

We spent a lovely winter weekend at the B&B. We went there for the winter hiking which was amazing! Visit Mt Jo if you are lucky enough to have a winter visit! The location of the B&B is amazing and the rooms have a warm lake house charm. Very fitting for the area. Lake Saranac is within minutes of driving distance. Marjorie and Cliff are great hosts! I would be thrilled to get a chance to go back in the summer!

Perfect place to get away from it all

Heartily recommend this Band B for those wanting a place that is tranquil, with a spectacular natural setting. The accommodations are wonderfully rustic, yet up to date. Marjorie makes you feel right at home and she prepares a very nice breakfast. You are staying steps from a lake with a Golden Pond feel with boats you can use to explore the lake. Definitely someplace to come back to.

Don't miss this vacation spot

A great lake view from the Eagle Room. quiet lake at your front door. A chance to canoe or kayak and ride the lock system 30 minutes from the dock (a once in a lifetime experience). Great flat and uphill hiking opportunities. Saranac lake and Lake Placid offer lots of dining options, but for us the best choice was take out enjoyed on the dock along with the sunset.

My husband and I have just returned from our vacation to Saranac Lake where we stayed at the Kiwassa Lake B&B. This was our second time going there and it was just as incredible as the first time. The location is second to none, it is right on Kiwassa Lake which gives you full access to the Saranac chain lakes. As for the bed and breakfast itself, it is a very clean and professional business with a comfortable environment. The rooms are spacious with Adirondack decor and lake views from the large windows. Our bed was very comfortable we slept really well. The owners are incredibly nice are very knowledgable about the area. The breakfasts are delicious! My husband and I have had nothing but positive experiences staying here. We will be back for sure and would strongly recommend it for anyone looking for a great place to stay in the Saranac lake region.

Amazing stay by Kiwassa Lake

We had a great time at Kiwassa lake Bed&Breakfast. Not only the views from the bedrooms and the dining room are stunning, but the host is absolutely adorable. She prepared delicious breakfasts for us, and let us use the kayaks for a tour on the lake. I highly recommend this gorgeous, cozy and peaceful place.

OMG the Goose Landing all season rental at Kiwassa Lake B & B is outstanding. Love the spacious layout with comfortable sleeping area, living area, and dining area with great kitchen. Feels cozy, private, and roomy. Spacious bathroom and nice decor, very welcoming. On top of that, is amazing upper level deck overlooking lake, lake island, kayak and boat docks, and air-dock with sea plane. Yes, a sea plane. Did not want to leave.

Hidden Lakefront Treasure

We've never been to the area and absolutely loved our stay. So glad we found Kiwassa Lake B&B. The place is breathtaking! Very peaceful & quiet! We stayed in the Eagle Room - it's on the 2nd floor & overlooks the lake. Loved loved loved this room! Very comfortable, clean & spacious with a full bath. I almost forgot to mention breakfast - oh so yummy! If we go back to the Saranac Lake area we will be booking a room at Kiwassa Lake B&B.

A Little Piece Of Heaven

Great fall retreat

If you are looking for a great fall retreat, you can do no better than Kiwassa. Comfortable rooms is an understatement as we stayed in the Bear room. Loved the fireplace, beds were great. Hospitality was excellent and the food was wonderful.

We spent three awesome days at Camp Victor on Kiwassa Lake. The cabin was rustic and comfortable - perfect for our family of four - and the lake is incredibly peaceful. From this location you can also easily paddle into Oseetah Lake, which is a nice bonus. I'd highly recommend Cochran's Cabins for these and many other reasons, not the least of which was the warm and friendly welcome we received from Marjorie.

Well worth the price.

I confess I am the world's biggest cheapskate. Dropping several hundreds of dollars on a bed and breakfast stay is a big deal. I would be unkind if I perceived that our pockets had been picked by substandard service or setting. I'm happy to report that Marge and he staff were as good as advertised. The location is quiet, secluded and beautiful. The room was large and beautifully decorated and the Adirondack breakfasts were large and delicious. Excellent Place to Stay in the 'Daks.

Myself and my girlfriend found this to be a very pleasant and comfortable B&B, in a scenic lakeside location, with very large, cozy rooms. We only stayed for one night but wish we could have stayed longer. This will definitely be on our list of places to visit next time we are in Saranac.

A beautiful destination with so much to offer.

Our trip to the area was chosen to coincide with the Saranac Lake Winter Carnival. We had a wonderful time. Marjorie prepared wonderful breakfasts, including homecooked gluten free food for one of us. Our room (Bear) was huge, nicely decorated, cozy, and clean. We were also pleased to have access to kitchen facilities just outside of our room. We made side trips to Potsdam and Lake Placid as well. Our hosts were very friendly and gave us helpful advice regarding our travel plans. The proximity of the lake was amazing, and the views were amazing. We wished we could have stayed longer. We hope to come back in the summer to enjoy water activities.

Where the heart is

We stayed for a week in Kiwassa Lake Bed and Breakfast. We fell in love with the house; the lake; surrounding hemlocks, birch trees, pines; beautiful birds; and most of all warm hospitality of the Chochran family. This place envelopes you in serenity. What a priceless experience we will remember for a long time: sitting on a dock of the lake and listening to the sounds of loons, looking at beautiful fog rising above mysterious stillness of the lake surface, water lilies, view of surrounding mountains wrapped in fog, green of forests, sunsets and sunrises. This is where you reconnect with yourself and find inner peace. Grown up in Lithuania, country of lakes, forests, and rivers, it was even more special to be able to see beautiful pines, spruces, lakes, be able to swim/boat on the lake early/late in a daychildhood found. We loved the house/rooms we stayed in (Moose and Pike), the terrace with Adirondack chairs, humming birds, beautiful flowers around the house and hanging on the porch. I will remember for a long time sitting on a dock with the hosts lab Lainey by my side and watching together the pink/golden sunrise. The hosts are very familiar with the area and their recommendations were priceless and on target. We loved ALL restaurants that were recommended. Breakfasts were served in a cozy living room overlooking the lake, and decorated with with cuckoo and grandfathers clock, books and bookshelves, piano. Food was amazing, creative, and made with inspiration: hard act to follow. Will be definitely missing this place and coming back with more of our family members as this place needs to be seen and experienced.

Our stay was entirely too short

Our room was well designed, clean, comfortable and it had an excellent view. Marjorie and her family were wonderful hosts. They are knowledgable about the area and reccomended an excellent place for dinner. I feel that for what I can spend on a hotel room in the middle of nowhere that is dirty and has no view...this room was reasonably priced and a great value. Breakfast was perfect. We plan to return for a longer stay as soon as we can.

What a great Getaway!

We had a wonderful stay last weekend! It was the perfect, relaxing spot to unwind and to celebrate our anniversary.
Margery is the perfect B&B host--- engaging but not intrusive... and makes a fabulous breakfast paying attention to guests dietary needs.
I can't recommend this place any more highly!!!
