The first room we got was larger, king and queen bed, a table as well. It smelled like it was clean but the table was covered in dust and so was the end table. I was staying with my child and the room did not have a smoke detector which is required per NY state law. They changed my room to the Lushna Petite. It was cute but couldve been cleaner. Im not sure the last time it was really cleaned. Thankfully I have a cleaning business and had disinfectant just to be safe. The young receptionist was so nice! She suggested some cute local spots to go and even made my son little origami figures!!

The room needed amenities like microwave oven and TV. The room had many ladybugs around the room flying around with a few around our bed. We did enjoy the breakfast basket that featured assorted teas and pastries. We also enjoyed the fresh honey, the strawberry jam, and the warm hard boiled eggs. I would order the this again as I rated it 10/10.

Our experience at Eastwind Lake Placid was amazing. I stayed there with a large group, occupying 10 rooms, and from the very beginning we felt truly welcomed.

Carolina, who assisted us during check-in, was exceptional—very kind, attentive, and thorough in explaining everything about the hotel and its amenities. She even prepared the fire pit for us so we could enjoy the complimentary s’mores, which made the experience even more special.

Throughout our stay, Carolina was incredibly helpful, always making sure we had all the information we needed and recommending great nearby restaurants and activities. Both my group and I were extremely happy with our experience.

Her attention to detail and outstanding service truly made our stay memorable.

Great property. Room was very cozy and clean. Bed was comfortable and we loved having a little seating area in the room. It was nice to relax in the room or hang around the hotel. It was easy to get around Lake Placid and the surrounding area. It is 15minutes to Whiteface Mountain. There were fun activities at the hotel - live music one night, bar with light food and a fire pit with free smore kits every night. Good value for the price!

This boutique hotel was a wonderful stop on our New England tour. It is a great place to be disconnected from the world around you with a sauna, hammocks, and a fire pit. There is not a ton to do at the hotel itself but if you just want to unplug and relax this is a great place. The village of lake placid was fun to explore and we will be back.

Very disappointing stay. The unit had a strong chemical smell and was not properly cleaned — we even found hair in our bed. The “bedroom” upstairs was tiny, dangerously steep stairs led up to it, and it had no air circulation, making it unbearably hot even in cold weather. The bathroom smelled bad, with a cracked and stained sink. No screens on windows or doors meant insects came inside whenever we tried to vent the smell. Calls after booking went unanswered. Overall, a very poor experience, especially for the price paid.

The hotel was a unique combination of houses and cabins. We stayed here over Labor Day weekend in one of the houses with our dog and enjoyed the hotel’s firepit and live music. I wish we had more time here to have enjoyed the pool and sauna. The walk to the river behind the hotel is through a beautiful park and a nice easy stroll.
Our room had a fireplace but it was not currently in service, a beautiful bathtub (no shower), and a comfortable king sized bed. I would recommend this place for travelers who want to check out lake placid in the fresh air.

The huge community fire pit was Awesome! The entertainment on Saturday night was top notch! Pool was not heated, but cooled us off on a hot day. The hotel provided bikes to use, and towels for the pool. No Tv in our room.

Lushna Petite great room with some small gripes

We had a great stay at the Eastwind Hotel at Lake Placid. Everything looks like how the pictures entails minus some basic wear (small marks on the wall from past guests, dog bite marks on the ac remote, black sink paint flaking off). The distance to downtown and local coffee shops made it a perfect location to stay at, far away enough that it isn't too busy but close enough that most things were within 10-15 minutes max. Be aware that the rooms do not have TVs. The cabins were very cozy. They have a community fire pit and smore kits and we loved meeting other travelers and talking for an hour or two we definitely recommend sitting down and chatting. Check in was pretty seamless they text you a code that will be your key for the cabin the whole trip. Staff reaches out daily via an automated message to check up on guests which is nice.

We only had a few minor complaints: there were times each day where we would find 3-4 live ants throughout the cabin(we stayed in the lushna petite which was small, just enough room for a shower, toilet and bed) staff went through and sprayed the room while we were our which brought it down to 1-2 ants a day, we had 2-3 flys in the room per day I'm not sure if these bugs are getting in from a crack somewhere or the door, last issue was the shower water only gets warm never hot which is just a small gripe.

We would stay here again if we visit Lake Placid, our gripes were minor and didn't have a major impact on our trip as a whole.

I really wanted to love this place. It has so much potential, and the interior design is great.
However, sadly, my 2 nights there weren't as expected.

1. The pool was full of bugs and flies and, overall, less clean than you would like it to be.

2. The bigger issue is that our shower broke the moment we used it, and then the water was dripping (not a little) throughout our stay...

3. The wifi is totally choppy, so if you want to work, you need to tether.

4. And lastly, the moment people arrived at the room next door, it felt as if we were in a dormitory...you could hear everything...what they're talking about, what they were moving around...as luck had it, they also happened to be a group of inconsiderate guests, who were up and around way after it's polite in a hotel setting.

For the price you pay, the quality wasn't there, sadly.

Loved the breakfast baskets and the wonderful musician who entertained us one evening outside near the campfire and the free s’mores kits. Also free morning coffee or tea was a plus too. I loved everything about this property! But, I think what stands out the most is 1) its uniqueness. We stayed in a 2-person a frame cabin that was so cute and sophisticated and cozy all in one. I love the designer style. It was equipped with all the comforts we wanted. (No TV but we didn’t care! We weren’t there to watch tv). 2) the staff was so kind and helpful. Their recommendations for dining and hiking and what to see in town was perfect for us. When we got home late one night they even had our fire pit ready for us to cook s’mores at 9pm. And 3) all the little amenities around the property. A walking trail to see the river. Pool, corn hole, hammocks, a library, the community fire pit for enjoying s’mores with other visitors if you want to be social. I mean, you don’t get any of this at a regular hotel! 100% recommend.

The bed was comfortable, our shower didn't drain, therefore we had to stand in standing water, while taking a shower, pretty gross. We reported the condition, they tried to fix it, the water was still not draining. No place to hang up the towels. The Sauna wasn't working, the expresso machine wasn't working. They need a better cleaning system, room, hallway and bathroom. were not clean. It was nice to sit around the big steel fire pit at night where we were offered s'mores.

This was a fun place to stay. Kind of quirky, certainly unique. Clean and spacious and with a Scandinavian vibe.

Could have used an extra hook or two for towels and the sink was a challenge as water tended to splash over onto the floor. Free use of bikes and an outdoor sauna added to the special atmosphere. They also offer a couple of glamping options. Cool.
We tried the breakfast basket option one morning. Sharp idea. We would stay here again, without question.

We stayed in one of the lushna suites. It was very cute, loved that the whole window wall opened up for early mornings on the porch. Overall it was a really good stay. Just a few minor things, firstly the hot water heater is only good for 15 minutes of showering and then you need to give it 45 minutes to be ready again. This seems like very poor planning for a cabin made for couples. Either they are taking longer showers together, or showering one after another, either way...this sucks. Secondly, the opening window wall does not lock unless you press the key hole on the outside. If you do that, the door is permanently locked closed, you cannot reopen it from the inside. So your choices are either to leave your room unlocked with all your stuff in it, or give up use of the full wall and only use the man door. Thirdly, the map of the property is a little deceiving. It looks much larger and more private on the map on their website, in reality the cabins are very close together and the property is tiny. Not necessarily a drawback but if you go expecting a little seclusion and privacy, you may be disappointed. The staff we encountered was really sweet and friendly, the pool looked great (we didn't use) and the fire pit was nice. The location is really convenient to downtown and walking to a few restaurants. Overall, nice and would go again. Note: If you have any mobility issues these cabins have witch steps and may not be easy to navigate for you.

We booked this hotel in Lake Placid through Expedia based on the great reviews, planning to celebrate my wife’s birthday there. I informed the property in advance that we’d be arriving late (around 10:30 PM), and they sent me instructions and a door code. After a long 6-hour drive, we arrived exhausted — only to find the room had not been cleaned at all after the previous guest. Trash, dirty towels, unmade bed — it was disgusting.

There was no staff on site (they close after 9 PM), and the number they gave for check-in assistance didn’t answer calls or texts. We tried multiple times — no response.

We had no choice but to find another hotel late at night. It was stressful, disappointing, and completely ruined the experience. This is unacceptable for any guest, especially when you pay in advance and follow all instructions.

Avoid this place unless you’re willing to risk showing up to a dirty, unprepared room with no way to contact anyone for help.

Staff was really welcoming and helpful. This place is a gem, the outside fireplace with s’mores kit, wine, beer, coffee bar and a musician on Saturday night. We ordered the breakfast, it was well presented, delicious and delivered to our room.
Someone locked the front door of our building at night, thankfully we saw that on our way out. And we had someone on our building with kids and they were really noisy early morning starting around 6 am on our last day…

We LOVE our little Lushan cabin! It is just large enough for my husband and two little fur babies (mini doxies). The little cabin was designed so well! The floor (wood and tiles) are heated. Two sky light windows right above the bed! Plenty of storages (under the stair to go up to the loft bed) and the little writing desk. Bathroom is large with fun "terrazzo" style tile. Very stylish! Sofa is large enough and the bedding are soft and comfy.

There are also great amenities within the hotels, we used the fire pit, roasting s'mores and ordering beer or wine from the bar while our our fur babies running around. There is also an outdoor Sauna which we used and enjoyed.

The hotel is situated near the Main Street in Lake Placid yet very quiet. Our little cabin is set on the back of the property and overlook the Chubb river.

Staffs are friendly and attentive, we ordered breakfast baskets twice and both were delivered with warm pastries and hot coffee right on time.
We really enjoyed our stay at the Eastwind Lake Placid location. Really great property and great value. I would love to visit again, if not this location then the Catskill location.
