This is a great hotel right by the centre of Levanto and no more than an 8 minute walk to the train station - walkable even with luggage. .Rooms are modern and cleaned daily. They have a small balcony with table and chairs. Mattresses are on the firm side (my preference so all good for me). The breakfast is great. The staff are amazing - on my last day there was a terrible storm with torrential rain - as there is only one taxi who was booked I was going to have to walk to the train station until Morganna from the hotel drove me to the station - she was so kind and she saved me from being a miserable, wet mess going for my flight!! That’s service. The location to explore the Cinque Terra, Portofino and more is perfect. I’d happily stay here again.

The Hotel Carla is close to the train station so it is easy to explore the Cinque Terre villages. Levanto center is also an easy walk from Hotel Carla and is an beautiful place to wander, eat and enjoy the beach and sea.

We stayed at Hotel Carla for 4 nights and enjoyed our stay very much. The staff are friendly and helpful. Our room was well equipped. The bed was a little on the firm side. Breakfast is very good apart from a rather mediocre coffee (from a self service machine). The hotel is very well situated, near the town center as well as the ship and train stations. Another plus point are the hotel bicycles which are available for free. Do not forget to reserve though.

This hotel is in a great location to the cinque terre. You can walk to the hotel from the train station. When we arrived Chiara at the front desk was very pleasant and welcoming. We arrived earlier than check in time and she offered to hold our bags so we can start exploring. The hotel lobby and dinning room are very modern. The rooms are also updated and nice. The breakfast was delicious and had many choices to pick from.

The property was at a very convenient location with just a 5-10 minute walk from the railway station and the city centre. The staff were very warm, helpful and welcoming. Amenities and breakfast were good at an expected level. Only flip side of the stay was that we got a corner room which meant the room was quite small. There should be a provision to differentiate these rooms from other ones given the variation in size. Apart from this, overall it was a great experience.

We stayed one night at the Hotel Carla while driving through the Cinque Terre region, and honestly, I wish we would have stayed longer. The Hotel Carla was clean and modern, and also in a great location. Set back up on the hill a little ways, we were only a 10 minute (max) walk straight down the street to the waterfront area. The front desk was great with check-in; she provided us with lots of information on the area and activities to do and places to go. They also took care of moving our car to the parking area up the hill.
The room was very clean and we had plenty of space. We had a small balcony with table and chairs that we enjoyed a bottle of wine and some take out from The White Goose. The breakfast the next morning had a wide variety and was plentiful. Would highly recommend the Hotel Carla for anyone visiting Levanto!

We chose this hotel based on the fabulous reviews and it didn't disappoint. The décor is absolutely stunning and all new. Hotel is extremely tastefully decorated. The breakfast was fabulous and the front desk staff were informative and friendly. Air conditioning was excellent. This is possibly the best boutique hotel I have stayed at and walking around the area I didn't see anywhere that looked as good. Nice quiet location too. Would highly recommend. We stayed there to visit the busy Cinque Terre area which is clearly a victim of its own success, i.e. ridiculously crowded, and we couldn't wait to return to our tranquil hotel at the end of the day. It is also located by a fabulous beach, just a short walk, which was really enjoyable and once again not busy.

We needed to leave early our second day and would miss breakfast, however, the hotel prepared us a packed brown bag lunch for the early train. The hotel is 10 minutes from train station. Highly recommend Hotel Carla!
Hotel Carla was great! Very clean, walking distance to train and to restaurants and beach - perfect spot. Quick train ride to Cinque Terre. Great breakfast and very nice employees. Hotel has bikes to borrow. Use them and ride the bike trail along the old railroad line - absolutely fantastic views! Nice place for a drink at the end of the trail. Room has everything you need, just small and tight but very clean but we did not spend much time in room anyway.

When staying in Levanto, Hotel Carla is the place
Hotel Carla is an excellent option if you're staying in Levanto. Conveniently located a few minutes walk from the train station, just a couple blocks inland from the main beach community. The staff is exceptionally friendly and attentive to all your needs. The rooms are nice and modern, especially if yours has a patio (which most do). My only complaint is the walls don't have great insulation (we could hear our neighbors talking a lot through the walls). What really elevates this hotel is the gourmet breakfast (FREE for guests). This is by far one of the best hotel breakfast's I've had, period. Better than anything I've experienced anywhere in Europe. Great coffee, pastries, fruit, cereal, eggs, juice...even champagne!

Excellent hotel with outstanding service! Location is maybe 1/3 mi to the train station, and 1/3 mi the other way to the downtown restaurants. Wi-Fi, AC and included breakfast were all great! Newly updated rooms and bath. Nice sized shower, and comfortable bed.

Hotel Carla was the best hotel that we stayed in Italy! The room was spacious, luxuous, and comfortable. The breakfast was awesome, and best of all the service was fantastic! Patrizia and Laura were very helpful explaining everything! They had a nice cool glass of water and cookie waiting for us when we checked in, and they were also kind enough to keep our luggage an extra day while we explored this beautiful area. Levanto is on the upper end of the Cinque Terre and easy to catch a train to any of the Cinques. My only regret is that we didn’t have another day or two to enjoy this beautiful hotel and take advantage of the beaches in Levanto. Hopefully we will have another trip back. This place is definitely a four or five star in my opinion, especially for European standards. We stayed another hotels that were rated three or four and would not even equal a two star in my opinion. What you see in Hotels.com for Carla is what you get, and that is a beautiful and comfortable place to stay.

Excellent Small Hotel
Overall our stay at the Carla was a very positive experience. Our room was small (as other reviews have noted) but very well appointed for a three-star hotel and very clean. We were disappointed that our room did nor have a balcony and/or a good view but, fortunately, there is a lovely veranda at the front of the hotel. We enjoyed some down time with an aperitif and nibblies each day when we returned from sightseeing. (When booking ask for a room with a balcony if it matters to you.) The breakfast was excellent (also as mentioned in other reviews)--lots of variety and very fresh. Hotel Carla is well located with only a short walk to good restaurants (notably, Da Rino and L'Articiocca) and shopping in the town centre and also to the train station. The staff at Hotel Carla are topnotch. Laura and Patricia were especially friendly and helpful. All in all, a great stay in a great little hotel. We were also glad to be away from the hustle and bustle of the Cinque Terre per se.

We had an awesome stay at Hotel Carla! The service was better than anything you could have asked for. The staff was very engaging and helpful in explaining everything in the surrounding area. Our room was very clean and spacious. The AC worked very well - for those who like to sleep in a cold room like we did. The hotel is close to everything but far enough away to have peace and quiet from the crowds. Just a short 2 minute walk into town. The walking path to Monterosso is within walking distance. I would highly recommend the Levanto - Monterosso trail if you are into hiking. A little strenuous but definitely worth the amazing views and it is free unlike the CT trails. Trains go into and out of Levanto frequently for access to CT. Levanto also has an awesome bike trail along the coastline that is a most do, and Hotel Carla has bikes to use - for free! Hotel Carla made our stay in Levanto memorable. We cannot wait to go back!

The managers and the people working are of top quality making the personal connection. The hotel concept and the breakfast are great but there are problems with some rooms. The room that we stayed was small to the level that we had hard time managing the two luggages that we had. In addition, our room and the room next door was like 1.5 meter away from the next building with limited sun-shine and it well really claustrophobic. Thus eventhough I loved the concept and the people working I can only give medium marks for this stay...

The hotel room was excellent. It was very clean and the air conditioning worked extremely well. It is located about 150m from the train station, providing quick, easy access to all of Cinque Terre. A Lovely Hotel!
Impeccably clean with modern appointments. Cute little balcony with table and chairs, and even a drying rack. Nice touches like hooks on backs of doors and enough towel bars. Great breakfast. (When I asked the front desk staff who the hotel was named after, they told me that Carla is the owner who is now in her 80's and is retired but she still bakes homemade pastries for the hotel's breakfast!) Provides beach towels. Tiny shower wasn't a problem but might be difficult for overweight guests. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Beautifully appointed hotel. It is like brand new. We were greeted with a snack and beverage and the hotel manager was awesome. A five minute walk from the train station made this very easy. Levanto is the next train stop above the five towns. The proximity of the train station made it an easy hop to any of the towns of Cinque Terra. The room was bright and fresh and the bed was very comfortable. Levonto, is a great little town and not as tight as the Cinque Terra towns, so it was great to have the less hectic pace of Levonto. Breakfast was terrific, all in all a great place to stay.

Great stay at Hotel Carla. Easy walk to town or train. Bathroom and shower are large and well appointed by European standards. Very clean, comfortable and friendly. Levanto is a wonderful town in its own right, as well as a perfect base for visiting the CT area....easy access via train or ferry without the crowds of the five towns. The path to Bonnessola is a level, incredibly picturesque stroll. Highly recommend.

Hotel was a fine base for exploring 5 Terre, though I can't say I am excited to go back. The service at the hotel was top notch, but they only served breakfast until 9 am and dinner from 730-800, so we kept missing everything. Parking next to the hotel was super convenient and included.

A Modern Breath of Fresh Air
Although I love the antiquity of Italy, we were ready for modern. We were greeted by the friendly staff when we arrived after a harrowing day of travel. Our room was clean crisp and a spacious bathroom with a much needed larger shower and an elevator. The breakfasts were varied and attended by a staff member or two sometimes. One evening we were tired and wet from visiting a few of the Cinque Terra towns and didn't want to out to dinner. They offer a prix fix menu which had all fish on it. It explained that my husband was allergic to fish and they checked with the chef and made him a beef stew. I can't say more. It was close to downtown, close to the train station and clean, new and a wonderful staff.

Upon arriving the room was given to us immediately. The receptionist was very kind and knew a whole lot about the area and provided with helpful information of where to eat and the best things to do in Levanto. The room was really clean and excellently accommodated, it surprises me that this is only considered a 3-Star hotel. We really enjoyed our stay here.

We stayed at Hotel Carla for 3 nights and used it as our home base for visits to Cinque Terre. We were very pleased with the hotel. Patricia at the front desk was incredibly warm and helpful as we arrived and the 2 days she was working. We appreciated the fact they had a saved parking spot for us just outside the hotel. The lobby and breakfast room are lovely. We had drinks out on the front outdoor seating area on our last evening, and met several groups of other nice travelers from all over the world while doing so. The rooms are very clean and nicely decorated. They are small, or at least ours was with not much room around the bed, but really we were hardly in our room and it was fine. The bathroom was again small, but not unlike other bathrooms we have had in Europe at the same price point.

We hiked to Monterrossa al Mare which takes about 2.5 hours and saw beautiful scenery. This hike is more strenuous then advertised. Be prepared with lots of water and good shoes.

For arrivals outside office hours, keys will be left in a secure safe near the office, and the access code will be sent via SMS. A €200 security deposit is required by credit card.
One week before arrival, a link to the BBVA bank (Redsys. es) will be sent to facilitate payment.
The deposit will be refunded to the same credit card within seven days of departure, provided there are no issues.
