I have visited Cancun numerous times and have experienced a variety of resorts, but I cannot recommend this hotel enough. It has been, by far, the best experience I have had in Cancun.

The rooms are clean and spacious, and our suite had a beautiful view of the beach. The food was excellent at both restaurants, and the private beach is absolutely beautiful. The amenities are wonderful, but what truly makes this hotel remarkable is the staff and their exceptional customer service.

Everyone was genuinely kind and attentive, and they truly made our stay an amazing experience. We will definitely be coming back.

This was our second time staying at the InterContinental Presidente Cancun Resort By IHG. The view was breathtakingly beautiful and peaceful, the property is clean and comfortable, and the staff is amazing! They are kind, friendly, engaging, and willing to speak in English and Spanish as your language skills/comfort allow. My 14 year old American daughter would love to see more food and dining options. But, I was content eating at the restaurant on the beach daily. Five stars across the board! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This resort was excellent in every way. All staff were attentive, rooms nice, clean and spacious. Loved that they supplied water bottles everyday. The place was calm and pleasant. Restaurants on property had delicious food, especially Le Cap, their Sushii menu was amazing. Overall was impressed with the property.

We stayed here Feb 14 - March 2 in room 412

Unfortunately, the issues we reported early in our stay — including the dangerously fluctuating shower temperature and the malfunctioning AC system — were never repaired, despite being reported to the front desk shortly after our arrival on February 14.
The shower temperature would unpredictably shift from warm to scalding hot without warning, creating a legitimate safety concern. The AC unit cycled on and off every few seconds throughout the night, making restful sleep difficult.
Additionally, due to a separate reservation extension, I had originally booked a higher-category Club room for our final night. When the hotel allowed us to remain in our existing room instead, I was asked to sign a downgrade acknowledgment, but no refund or adjustment for the rate difference was offered.
I want to emphasize that the front desk staff were consistently polite and professional. However, the lack of follow-through on reported maintenance issues and the absence of any meaningful service recovery were disappointing, especially given the InterContinental brand and the length and cost of our stay.
My hope is that management will place greater emphasis on resolving guest-reported issues promptly and proactively in the future.

Le Cap was supper delicious and the sommelier was precise with his wine recommendations.

The El Presidente hotel beach is the most beautiful in Cancun. Excellent relaxing vibe throughout the resort.

Reserved a king bed room. Arrived at 8pm and room was still not ready. Waited 35 minutes and then was placed in two queens room instead of King. Stayed five nights and checked multiple times for potential move to king room. Never accommodated. Also hotel wouldn’t honor resort credit advertised in my purchase thru Expedia. And they wouldn’t give me my IHG points as a rewards member because I booked through Expedia.

I stayed here with my elderly parents and two teen boys. We initially did not like our rooms, but after contacting the hotel, they were able to move us. We all had a amazing time! There is something for every age group. The hotel has thought of literally everything to make the trip pleasant and enjoyable. Best of all the beach has very gentle waves owing to it's location on Cancun. We've stayed at other resorts along the main strip, and while those hotels are nice, the waves are very strong and made it difficult (and dangerous) for my children to safely swim in the ocean.

Originally everything went wrong Andreas bad. The room was not what we were told would be, the night staff at the desk was lying and insisting that our room was not garden view while we were told it was.
However the next day the manager by the name of Alex changed everything. He was very polite. He tried everything he could to help us. He assured us that he will look for a garden view room and as soon as there is an opening he will transfer us there. Which he did! In less than one day he found us a room with a beautiful garden and ocean view.we were so delighted and on top of it the next day he surprised us and sent a basked of fruit and chocolate to our room to make up for any inconvenience that originally we had to go through.
I was so upset the first night that was planning to write a bad review for the hotel but Alex saved the hotel from the bad review and made our stay a pleasant stay.
I highly recommend him to get a promotion or raise!

This is not a 5 star hotel by any means. The hotel needs some serious updating. The room shows quite some wear and tear and the service is average. For the price that they charge, I would have expected a much better service. The curtains are not blackout leading to high luminosity in the morning.
Room service is very average with beds half made. The breakfast buffet is average with very limited choices.
If I had to rate the hotel, It would be less than 4 stars.

We experienced an issue during our stay on the night of 10 December 2025. Water began dripping from the ceiling and gradually moved towards the bed, causing significant inconvenience.

We informed the hotel lobby around 11:00 PM, but there was no immediate response. As the situation worsened, we had to personally go to the lobby to seek assistance. It took approximately one hour for the issue to be addressed and resolved.

Due to this delay, we were only able to go to bed around 12:00 AM, which disrupted our rest and overall comfort during the stay.

Beach was amazing. Service and a staff were attentive and conversational. This is our third time visiting Cancun, and our second time staying at intercontinental. My mom loved this hotel because of the quiet area away from the lights and noise, but also it’s close enough if you do get bored and want to walk in the evening to the area for shopping. My mom loved talking to locals in the hotel and it reminded her of home, everyone was nice with good sense of humor. Hotel room had everything you might need, bed was very comfortable and beach view was nice, if you could get a higher view that would be ideal. But who’s staying in their hotel room all day anyways?

Our reservation was a classic room, however, the room they gave us was for special needs. We told them that we want to change our room, it took them so much time to change our room and we had to stay the frist day in our the room that had bathroom and room amenities that are made for special needs. after we complained, several hours later, they changed our room, the shower in the new room did not work properly as well. we only stayed for 2 nights there and both our days was ruined because of this room situation. and our situation was not taken seriously nor any additional complemntary gesture was provided by the hotel as a compensation for all the incovenience that was caused. what happened was unnaceptbale and basically ruined our trip.

Room was ready, staff at reception could have been faster, they move from one computer to another but I guess this was a software problem.I gave my business card to be given to general manager but instead they staple it to my papers which is wrong.
I wanted to have a chat with him.

Water from the shower was either scolding or too cold. Maintenance folks could not fix it.
Surprise resort fees were added that were supposedly included in the Expedia total.
When I cheched in, they asked for the usual credit card hold amount; however it was not a hold charge for a real charge for $700. When I checjed out, they charged me again for the incidentals instead of deducting thise from the original \"hold charge\". They said the \"hold\" charge would be refunded in about 10-12 days.
In sumnary, this hotel is a total financual abuse.

Great stay at this hotel! We had Expedia status and were greeted at a separate check-out desk, given our room at 2p m (earlier than advertised) and offered late check-out at 2pm on the day of departure. Further we had waters, and some snacks. There are two pools and the beach is lovely. Breakfast was included in our rate and was nice enough selection. Staff all very firendly. Bed super comfy.

Beautiful location and setting with the pool and beach, connected with a great beach bar. Staff couldn’t do enough, all very helpful.
5 star hotels around the world are pretty special and unfortunately this one didn’t meet those expectations. Rooms and overall feel, felt very tired and dated.
That said, the overall stay was good for what we needed, food and gym were of good standard.

We wouldn’t normally stay in a “brand” hotel but this was a fantastic experience.

Sure the hotel is fab, I cannot fault any of it. Great food, facilities and what an incredible location.

However, it is the staff that made this really special. Particularly the team at the beach bar. Thank you Mariam, Mario and Diego so welcoming. Best hotel bar staff ever!!! (And we have met a few).

I am sure we will return.

Massive disappointment

I’ve never felt more let down by a hotel stay. The reviews promised a perfect end to our trip to Mexico, but the experience was disappointing from start to finish.

Our bags never arrived in the room despite being told they would be delivered. After several calls and mixed messages, they finally appeared much later. We also asked to borrow an umbrella and were told none were available, even though the concierge had given two to another couple just minutes earlier.

Breakfast service was equally poor — the server seemed uninterested and made us feel like an inconvenience. At check-in, we were advised to ask about a day-use room before our evening flight, only to be told at checkout that no such option existed. When I shared my feedback, it was met with a blank stare.

Overall, the service was indifferent and unwelcoming — a real disappointment at the end of what had been a wonderful trip.
