This property made it VERY clear that Expedia does not do any on-site Vetting, and if they do, they sure missed this one.
The room we had was dirty, the bed felt like it should have been replaced a decade ago, so that made the bed sheets, (that didn't seem to be the correct size) VERY susceptible to coming off, wallpaper was coming off the wall, desk chair leather was cracked and brittle (needed to be replaced), baseboard around the room had an extensive layer of dirt/dust on it, the bathroom baseboard was missing chunks at the bottom around the shower enclosure, hollow core room entry door was weathered and coming apart, roof overhang eves paint peeling off and rotting in many places, pool not operational.
Did not see any (per previous review), but my wife told me that she honestly thought we would be seeing cockroaches when the lights were turned on in the middle of the night.

This Inn is so nasty and filthy. Even the staff knows that people will not like it, told us to check the room first then he will charge us. I am glad, I did reserved and pay at the location and we didn’t stay at this hotel. This could be nice if they renovate the whole building.

The guy who checked us in and out was awesome. Gave great advice on local spots for us to adventure during the recent snow storm. He was spot on with his recommendation. We would stay there again. Understanding the rooms are dated but don’t let that deter you. We had fun staying. Have an open mind. Very quiet. Other more expensive hotels I have stayed at were louder than here. The room was very nostalgic of 80’s and 90’ decor, which added to the experience.

The room was very old and dirty. The drawer had mold in it the bathtub had hair in it and so did the bedsheets. Didn’t feel very safe as the door would barely lock and only one of the lights would work in the room. Would like a partial refund.

Neil was an awesome and gracious host. He found a room even when hotels.com had booked the room for next year somehow and let us stay for the same price. The room is perfect for a getaway weekend close to skiing particularly if you want a more budget-friendly place to stay. The bed was comfortable and the sink/vanity looked new - there was also a mini-fridge and microwave in the room. The tubs/showers could use some renovations, but we did not mind given the convenience. My daughter also enjoyed the room and found it comfortable. Overall, it's what we were looking for to save some money and enjoy time of the slopes. We'll be back!

This motel is older and you get what you pay for. Especially in this location the price is unbeatable. If you dont need the most up to date accommodations this place is wonderful. The man at the front desk was jolly and fun to talk with. The pet fees were the cheapest i have ever seen. Walking distance to kings beach and resturaunts. Parking lot is tight but big enough. I enjoy the reasonable pricing, quietness, great location and friendly customer service. The hotel is a throw-back, it's older, an original. I like that it still has the old Tahoe vibe and is always clean. I stay here frequently and it's always a clean bed to sleep in, and easy walk to the beach, easy parking and my Granddaughter loves Char Pit is next door, great burgers. Our routine is long beach day, burgers at Char Pit and then off to bed. Love it!

I’m hiking Tahoe Rim Trail and use this as a resupply stop. It’s well positioned for either Blockaway Summit or Mount Rose. The people are very friendly and kind storing my material for my pick up. Room is large. Nice bathroom has a pool and chairs.

The rooms itself weren’t great. Even though we were told they have been renovated recently, it still seems pretty old, and some rooms I’d say are dirtier than the others. However, the services were fine, I asked if we can get a different room than the one assigned to us because we weren’t satisfied with it, and they did give us a better room. They even offered to give us a free night stay and give us a full refund because we weren’t satisfied with the first room, but it wasn’t necessary. I’d say the best feature is that it’s a quarter mile away from the beach, and it’s just easy for us to walk around the area without any worries. This place is also probably the most affordable deal you can get, so if you’re okay with not being in a fancy hotel and to save hundreds of dollars, this place might be for you.

The best thing about this property is that you can walk to the beach and around the town area. Property wise-bed was ok, tv good, carpet was dirty, bathroom ok. Wallpaper and walls need attention. No air conditioning but not need. My husband and I like to stay in retro type older motels -this one is just old.

Park at your door is so easy and nice to get car packed/unpacked. Definitely could be refreshed but it was fine for us. Beds could be updated too but we slept. This was our first time staying at this quaint little hotel. The staff was amazing, and very quick to respond to our needs. Like most hotels in the area, it was an older building, but that's what gives it charm and a unique experience. There was a full kitchen and a separate bedroom. Even though the water temperature had some difficulty staying in one place, the manager was on top of getting things in working order. If you have ever lived in an house that is over 40 years old, you know there are quirks that may need attention. The best part was knowing that the staff understood this, and were more than happy to tend to our needs. You just need to ask, so don't be shy when something isn't working right or needs to be taken care of. The staff know things are older and need more TLC. Overall, we had a great stay, and will definitely stay here again!!

Worst experience ever!
My friends and I (a group of four) booked this hotel for a one-night stay with modest expectations. While the initial look of the property was grungy, our experience revealed significant concerns. Upon flipping the bedsheets and bathroom, we discovered an unsettling amount of hair and an unidentified brown substance, raising serious doubts about the cleanliness of the accommodations. When I addressed these issues with the front desk staff, their response was dismissive and unhelpful, leaving the matter unresolved. We were left sleeping on the floor on top of our clothes.
