We really enjoyed our stay in Hiltons newly remodeled Tapestry Hotel Martis Valley. Updated modern Rustic appeal was cozy and classy. Food was delicious and staff were all amazing and helpful. Our Suite and fireplace were romantic and cozy! We highly recommend this hotel as it is central to western Lake Tahoe for hiking, outdoor activities, museums, historical sites, restaurants and day tripping! Donner Lake, Truckee, Tahoe City, incline Village, beaches and more.

The ownership seemed in transition with policy like free breakfasts being changed.
The buffet breakfast was not offered.
Room was clean but the auto on lighting in the sink area would come on with any movement. Since there is not a door, we often would be awakened .
The person on the front desk was very helpful as was the housekeeper.

Very nice hotel with the basics. Clean rooms, friendly staff, not many amenities. Sheets were scratchy but not unusable. The disappointment was the breakfast. You had a choice between yogurt, oatmeal, a sandwich or a breakfast burrito served with a side of what you can tell were frozen tater tots. I’d say skip the breakfast and come for the scenery. The location is beautiful and the price is very reasonable.

Pros- Recently renovated so room was nice and clean. If you need quiet I suggest avoiding weekends. Lots of places to charge devices. Close to town and skiing.

Cons - anyone can reach the rooms/elevator not key card activated. This only concerned me since I found my room door ajar upon arriving. I was in a rush to head to dinner, so after checking the room, didn’t mention it to staff til the next day when I had to call to report that there wasn't any conditioner in the shower. Neither the fact that my room was left open or that I didn't realize the conditioner was empty until showering elicited concern or a sorry. I got a sorry that was more of a laugh because the conditioner sent up turned out to be shampoo so I had to call down again in my towel. It seems they are tight fisted with the in room coffee. There are only 3 pods- one of which is decaf and small cups. If you don’t have/never used a Nespresso machine, you'll have to watch a YouTube video to have coffee since the directions on the machine were difficult to read/understand. When the cleaning staff came through they replenished one pod when 2 had been used.

I got a text asking how my stay was going. I shared it wasn't great and got a sorry- so I thought I had an opportunity to help these things be avoided in the future. When I shared, there was no further response until much later asking again how my stay was going. That made me mad and made me feel like I wasn't being heard, so I let it go.

Room was adequate -- clean and nothing broken. Motion activated bathroom light was super annoying in the middle of the night. Even after turning it off manually it would retrigger before the person in the room had left. This would be blinding at night and disruptive to the person outside the bathroom as well.

Other than that, the place is effectively a re-branded Hampton Inn. Pretty expensive for what it is, but you're paying for proximity to Resorts.

Clean Room, newly renovated however if you need to make Tea, ask the front desk for a kettle. The hot tub towels are also with the front desk. Some of the things that we had to find out on our own. Most people seemed confused as how the Breakfast buffet/Continental Breakfast worked, so that should also be mentioned when checking in. Definitely need two people to check people in during peak times! Bed was comfy and room was comfy.

It was a comfortable room. The beds were a little hard, but they worked well enough. I appreciated the fixtures that were geared toward cold-weather coats and equipment. The food was eh. One night, they were out of almost everything (and it happened to be the one night we decided to eat there). I would suggest eating somewhere else.

We stayed for 3 nights in January to ski. The room was fine and the bed was comfortable. No free breakfast, cost $10. Disappointments: No free coffee in the lobby as you have in most hotels. I asked for a 630am wake up call for all 3 days we were there. I only received a wake up call the first day. No wake up call on the 2nd day. Had to ask again for the last day. $20 parking per day according to the website. I wasn't informed of this when I checked in. Also ended up with a rash probably from the hot tub and needed benadryl to contain it. Overall I was disappointed with this hotel which seems more focused on the money than good customer service. Won't stay here again

Had a lovely stay! The front desk was exceptional. The women working at the continental breakfast were super kind and helpful. Love the nespresso pods in each room. Hotel was within proximity to restaurants and 15-20 minutes from the major ski resorts. Overall a 10/10 experience and would stay here again!

Perfect location to stay if you are going to Boreal Mountain Resort. Loved how spacious and clean our room was with two queen size beds and a huge bathroom. Staff were great checking us in and answering our questions. My only issue was the $20 parking... should have been included. Didnt eat at the buffet, so can't review it. Would definitely stay again unless I find a same rated hotel with free parking.

The staff were friendly at check-in and check-out. The renovations are really nice. The hot tub was nice and hot! The rooms were nicely updated and the bed was really comfortable. My only complaints are the noise coming from the heater. They haven’t updated those and they’re quite loud. Breakfast was included with the rate I booked and was fine, but is definitley not worth the $24 they charge otherwise. It’s very similar to what you’d find at a free breakfast elsewhere. I’d still consider staying again overall.

Hotel and room were very unclean. TV did not wor k. Water temperature was lukewarm. For the price we paid, this was not worth it — there are other hotels / lodges in Tahoe, I’d rather just pay a bit more and stay somewhere well maintained. Will not be staying at this property again.

Beautiful facility, staff great, clean. Would have given 5 stars except for the equipment at the lumber yard behind the hotel that starts up at 6:00 am and has loud beeping when backing up. That was terribly annoying and no more sleep once that starts. Suggest giving earplugs to guests who occupy the rear facing rooms.

When we checked in, the right side of the bed was off the frame. I told the front desk and asked for it to be fixed. The initial response was to question whether we caused it, but we were told it would be handled. It never was, and my wife and I ended up fixing it ourselves. The metal frame was too large for the base, so we had to reposition the thin support panels just to make the bed usable.

The next day, housekeeping didn’t replace the toilet paper. We asked for a roll after getting back from skiing and were told it would be sent up, but it never arrived.

Breakfast, which is a paid service, was disorganized the first morning. The woman running it told us she didn’t know what she was doing and was just filling in. She was nice and clearly trying, but it didn’t feel properly staffed.

We stayed on the second floor, and both nights there was a lot of noise from the room above us, along with people running up and down the hallway. There were also groups of drunk guests hanging out in the hallway around 10–11 p.m., sitting against the wall, drinking wine, and talking loudly. I understand it was après-ski, but this activity should have been kept to guest rooms, the lounge, or the bar.

For over $500 a night, I expected a higher level of service and better control of common areas. That said, the hotel itself was nice and the location was great. If you stay here, I’d recommend requesting a third-floor room.

the hotel was in the process of major renovations. the room we were in was brand new and felt very comfortable and updated. we were not aware prior to booking or our stay that the common areas were under construction. we were staying there with another family and anticipated using the lobby or common areas to spend time outside of our rooms together. there was no common space available and we had to come and go from the building through side doors, making our room incredibly far and hard to get to with young children. the service was spectacular but still wish we would have known about the current work being done.

The hotel charged me a $20 self-parking fee that I was unaware of. This is outrageous. I called them and they were unwilling to reverse it. Nice hotel generally, but this isn't the Ritz-Carlton with valet parking. They've lost my business. Shame on them. Not recommended.

We had paid for a suite, and when we arrived were given a regular room, we were told by the hotel that they had no suites available however they did not lower the price to the price of a regular room, they kept the charge or the suite. We were told because we booked through hotels.com they didn’t guarantee our reservation of choice of room, when I spoke to Hotels.com, they stated this wasn’t true. The whole first floor was under construction, you couldn’t walk through the hotel to get breakfast, you had to walk outside and walk around. Then the key cards kept being deactivated and continuously had to ask the front desk for help. Another hotel guest injured himself a left a trail of blood and when we notified the front desk, they did nothing. We found out the next day that nothing was still done because the front desk ask the housekeeping to clean the blood when they were serving us breakfast. On our reservation booking it asked us if we wanted to pay to eat breakfast, we selected yes and then they still wanted to charge additional when we showed up for breakfast. The staff that was servicing us for breakfast was having to jump over the counter to help the front desk with translations for calls they were receiving. We asked about whether the laundry facilities were available so we could wash a load of clothes, on the phone we were told it was open, when we asked the front desk where it was located, they said it wasn’t available due to the construction.

This hotel is amazing. We've been trying out new hotels in the Tahoe area for the past year as the Hyatt has become...well overpriced with little amenities. The Martis Valley Lodge hit's the spot. Between Truckee and the lake, quiet, clean BEAUTIFUL ROOMS and well priced. I was slightly irritated with the $24 breakfast and the $20 per night parking fee...but hey, there are plenty of great restaurants nearby. Can't wait to return. Very friendly staff.
