The room next door had a bath tub spa which was up against my rooms bed headboard

When the spa tub was turned the noise and vibration was like a jet liner sitting on top of my room. This crazy load noise and vibration went on for and hour, before the folks next door turned it off.

Then I was able to get to sleep.

Terrible noise problem with spa tub.

Everything was great. Only thing that needs fixing is the shower head. It is set so it shoots past the tub onto floor. You have to hold the handle off wall mount so it doesn’t get water everywhere

Stayed here last year and it was clean and comfortable and a great location. This year our first night I went to turn the shower on and the handle fell off the wall. They moved us to another room only to learn that our sink had a gnat infestation. The pillows are tiny and flat and the shower head clearly hasn’t been cleaned of hard water build up in the nozzles ever. Shower door handle was loose and we feared it might fall off. Never experienced any issues last year but this year will force us to find another place to stay in the future.

We have stayed here before, it is older but great location on the marina, walk to restaurants etc. This time however, the construction on 89 in the middle of the night right outside our window was awful.

Enjoyed my weekend trip to Tahoe City. The location was great, after a full day out at the lake. Check in was quick, friendly. Once settled in my room walked the strip that has many options for dinner an shopping. Room was comfortable an at night it was very quiet. Check out was very simple with phenomenal service. I will definitely be coming back.

Pretty basic property. Bathroom sink was not functional and we couldn't brush our teeth or use the sink for handwashing for a day. Front-desk didn't get anything done for the day.

Next day, after they a second complaint they fixed while we were out of the room.

The heater/AC thermostat was weird and we couldn't get it to function well at all.

Please take an extension card along, as the outlets are minimal.

We booked a last minute room here as we were snowboarding at Palisades. 15 mins away with no traffic (about 25 in the traffic at 4-5pm). The room had a bedroom with a king bed and a sofa in the main room. It just fit my family of 5, but with 2 teens on the sofa pullout and my 9yo daughter in the king bed with us. Overall, it functioned well enough for a great price. It's next door to Safeway, CVS, and many food options, which was convenient when it snowed heavily and didn't want to drive.
The Mountain slice pizza (2 minute walk) was 5 star delicious! And the lake was 5 mins walk away with other fancy restaurants nearby. All in all, the inn was a great find! The front office staff Taylor did a great job checking us in (early!) and helped us with everything we needed. She deserves 5 stars!

Great location. Dated rooms.

Staff very friendly. Carpet smelled really bad. Not stable water temperature so one of my kids ended up getting burned as he was taking a shower. No vent fan in bathroom so our towels never dried. The shower head sprayed water all over the place. I wish there were some simple soap/shampoo dispensers on the wall of shower. There are no wardrobes or anything other than a closet, so you’ll have to live out of your suitcase, on the floor. AC/heater is super loud, and is next to one of the two beds so whoever sleeps there will wake up super dehydrated.

Please give access to the office so we can use the water filter, and install a coffee machine/tea machine.

A new low. This room has the bare minimum ... a throwback to a cheap 1950's motel. My room came with two beds, a dresser, a fridge and microwave, spotty television (kept freezing or just crashing) and (unbelievably) exactly one inconveniently located electrical outlet. What it lacked was a bedside lamp, adequate television reception, housekeeping (no cleaning for a two night stay) and a usefully functioning front desk (very limited hours). It feels like a cash cow at the guests' expense.

City workers used the parking lot as a staging area and ran jack hammers and quickie saws all night. Understanding that this is unavoidable when it comes to construction but would have been considerate of the staff to at least warn customers of the situation. Additionally the staff was minimal and not friendly at all with no hours of the front door posted. Furthermore, I locked my key in the room after hours and called the emergency number they had posted, left a message and never got a call back to see if i was able to renter my room! Will not stay there again.

I will be contacting you via phone for a refund. This hotel was awful, my employees refused to stay here and I had to relocate them to another hotel. This was antiquated, dirty and the room had a foul, mildew odor, the couch was stained. Just unacceptable, even for my 2 employees in the area for work. They would have preferred a motel 6 over this place.

Booked the romantic room with my partner for valentines day specifically for the heart shaped tub. We were super excited to use it until we turned on the jets and black mold spewed out. We brought our concerns up with staff, as that is not only gross but a health hazard and were brushed off. Overall its a decent place, but staff were hard to locate and the hot tub incident left our skin crawling.

The dark horse coffee provided in the room in the AM was so delicious. Bummed that our room didn’t have a separate shower from the heart shaped tub, I totally thought it would. The room was very cute and comfortable! It was perfect for our one night stopover in Tahoe. My kids loved getting to sleep on the pullout and the bathroom is bigger than ours at home so they were very excited about that too, haha!

The hotel’s location was pretty excellent, with Safeway and CVS right next door, plus the lake and loads of cute shops within walking distance.

One of the best parts about our stay was the coffee in the hotel room! This is the first time I’ve ever had hotel coffee that was better than the coffee shop in town. It was a pleasant surprise. I hope to stay here again in the future!

Resoundingly disappointed for the very high price. Dingy carpet, burnt out lightbulbs, and very ancient mattresses. Sofa in the suite needed to be cleaned desperately. Generally unpleasant and dark. I paid less for a two bedroom oceanfront condo in Kauai that was gorgeous back in April. Skip this spot.

The location of this Inn is fantastic. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was not worth the price. There was no iron, the hair dryer didn't work, nor did the coffee pot. There was no view, and it was noisy. Signs say redevelopment is proposed, so maybe then it might be worth the price, but definitely not as is right now. Very disappointing!

This place is located quite conveniently at the edge of downtown Tahoe City, a 3-minute walk to Safeway and easy access to the lakeside trail and park, as well as several eateries and a Tahoe Dave’s for snowsport gear.
Registration was quick and without hitches after we got a courtesy call that we could check in early. There was plenty of parking despite the snowdrift occupying several spaces.
As for the room: The beds were clean and comfortable. The bathtub was rather blockish but it contained enough hot water for a good aprés-ski soak. The fridgeling was fine and spacious but the freezer slacked off such that we tragically had to throw out a near-full box of ice cream sandwiches. The fridgeling and a microwave were all there was in the way of a kitchenette.
I also appreciated the amenities, including a bag of locally roasted coffee and nice local toiletries.
Though it is just above the lakeshore above its namesake Boatworks, the view from the bathroom window gave on the facade of a shopping mall ironically named Mirada.
All in all, it gave us what we needed, and they let us bring the dog.

We were very comfortable, only stayed 1 night but the location was perfect could walk to anything you would want to do. Main reason we chose was because we could bring our dog and even if we didn’t I would stay again.

Overpriced for what it is

Let me start with the positives: The person who checked me in was lovely, the renovation is cute and appears to have been done well, and the room had some fun decor touches. The bed was comfortable. Everything was clean.
Onto the negatives: The shower had one temperature - scalding hot. We were unable to fully shower during our stay which was frustrating given the high price of the room. The guests above us had two small children who stomped on us the entire time we were in the room (yes, all night long). Note to staff: perhaps consider placing guests with children on the ground floor only since there is no floor insulation.
I have stayed multiple times at competing motels in the area (all renovated small motels) that are much more comfortable than this one and considerably cheaper. I am unlikely to return to this one.

We had a great stay at The Inn at Boatworks. We rented a suite with a king bed and it was much more spacious than we expected. The hotel is right in the heart of Tahoe City and walkable to all of the restaurants. The staff was super friendly and helpful as well. We would definitely stay here again.

The room was cheap for a reason. The place is undergoing renovations. I think the owners spent all of their initial budget on branding instead of staffing. The room wasn’t very clean. I can handle outdated but I am put off by moldy coffee makers. It was also impossible to find a working phone number to give an update about a late check-in. I had to have Hotels.com connect me.

They promised a breakfast but in the second day no one was in reception and there was no coffee. I saw several people try and check out around 7:30.

There is also no working TV. Again, I would invest here to keep guests happy while the place is remodeled. Coffee, clean rooms and working TVs go far.

The rooms were a little clean but the fans were very dusty. The furniture was well worn with chips and scratches. The sheets were at least clean. The hotel is in a good location in Tahoe City and was cheaper than most other hotels in the area. There were some very noisy people there and some interesting people too. I won’t be staying there next time because of the quality of the rooms. The staff were very friendly and had great service but there system to check us in was down so it took 30+ minutes to check us in which we were understanding of.

Great location. Old, run down, dirty carpet, lots of mirrors (it use to be an adult themed “fantasy inn”) we learned. In need of many renovations. One of our keys didn’t work, light gets into your room from passing cars. The inn is being used to house foreign student employees who hang out smoking outside and can be noisy.

While it would be unfair to completely run them down, (THEY ARE REMODELING UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT) and the Staff were doing their best in a poor situation, there were some cleaning issues..Popcorn in the heater vents and when I dropped an article, popcorn and stuff also under the bed. The linens were clean and the bed fine. However didn't appreciate listening to the group having sex till after 12 PM next door.

For the price, you really can't complain. It's cheap and it's a warm place to stay for what I'm assuming is a ski/snowboard trip. The hostess/manager person was super friendly and nice, even though they have a 3-7pm check in time, and we arrived at 12:30am. We definitely woke her up, but she was super nice about it and accommodating. The rooms were fairly clean (found one small bug on the bed), but honestly, take it as what it is. A quick place to stay before/after you hit the slopes. Would recommend.

One star is too high a rating.

We arrived within their extremely ridiculously tight check-in window of 3-7pm, only to be greeted with a Closed and unmanned office. Upon calling the number on the letter on the front door, of course it went to voicemail, and we were left to wonder what to make of our reservation. After repeated attempts, finally someone answered, and said that they had affixed our key to the room and that we could let ourselves in. The staircase nearest our room was impassable as it was completely buried in snow and hadn’t been cleared, even though it hadn’t snowed all week prior. There was significant leaking and overflow in the gutters directly in front of the upstairs room that resulted in an extremely dangerous layer of ice blocking much of the hallway and entry way in front of our room. They left out a large bag of salt for us to salt the walkway by ourselves. Entering the room the carpet in front of the door was wet, likely due to the significant flooding outside. The TV didn’t work. The fridge didn’t work. The microwave didn’t work. The ice machine on property didn’t work… and there was no one on property to deal with any of it. Upon calling the number again, and addressing some of our concerns, the lady said she would speak with her boss and get back to me—she never did. She said she would be in the office the next morning—she wasn’t. Horrible experience. Terribly run property. I’ll stay anywhere else.

Close to ski resorts, walking distance to shops, restaurants and marina. Very old and outdated, no continental breakfast but the did have snacks and coffee.
