Our second stay at Lalandia. This time we went for a family trip during UK October half term for 6 days in Classic 8 house. Clean lodging and well equipped for kids and our elderly parents. Bring your own hairdryer though!

Convenient location from the housing area to the main activity centre at Lalandia, and Legoland. A bit further out for the Lego House/town centre but still walkable distance. Very nice Lalandia staff as well, especially the shuttle drivers who were patient and helpful.

Onsite restaurants and supermarket were higher priced as you might expect for a tourist location.

Aquadome has some fantastic slides/play areas for the kids. The wristband system for payments, locker and house access was very convenient.

Kids are hoping to return again next year!

It would be good to be able to sort out the late check in much earlier than on the day. It was a bit stressful having to call and difficult as we had to take time out of work. It also was a bit concerning that one of the lalandia people we
Spoke to said we couldn’t order a linen package, but another said we could. This is a problem as it is not really possible to bring linen with you when you are flying.

The holiday overall was excellent. So many different activities for children to keep them entertained all day. It felt safe and was extremely clean everywhere. The pool and soft play were brilliant and suitable for all my children ages 7-12. Legoland and the Lego house are a short walk, if you want to venture out. The only downside is that it is very expensive. 2 coffees and a cinnamon bun cost us £20, the average price for a meal out for a family of 5 was £170 - that’s 3 kids meals, no starters and one drink each. You also have to pay for the heating, electricity and water that you use in your accommodation at the end of the stay, which we have never done before.

Lalandia water dome is excellent, with flumes and water fun for kids of all ages. The beds were comfortable but the pillows were old and lumpy. Good location for legoland but some properties are a 20 min walk from the activity centre and main entrance. Some offers, like booking linen on-line, are only available for if you book direct, which is frustrating. Extra charges for water, heating and electricity, which for us cost €17, in the Summer.

Great location, close to lots of great attractions. Excellent restaurants and choice of activities. Be prepared to walk quite a bit, especially if your cabin is one of the further away ones, but there are lots of fabulous play parks along the routes to help encourage little ones to keep going!

We absolutely loved the resort, well maintained and so much for the kids to do. The accommodation was clean, comfortable and spacious. The only downside was the blinds in our lodge were not blackout. Also, we didnt have a car as we flew and our lodge was one of the furthest away (15 mins from check-in desk) which was a bit of a pain when lugging suitcases, however a shuttle bus does run every 30 mins which you can use. Regardless, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definately return.

There are a few discrepancies between the listing on Expedia and the actual resort. The front desk closed at 6, not at 7 as listed on Expedia. But because of this, I was able to meet Sebastian. He was professional, funny, and most helpful. He made my stay much better. His girlfriend is lucky to have him, and the princess of Denmark would be lucky to have him for a boyfriend, as well!

Hidden Fees and Missing Essentials – Disappointing

Booked via Hotels.com without realizing many basics weren't included, something that would’ve changed our decision. As international travelers visiting solely for Legoland, this stay was far from ideal.

At check-in, we were charged 120kr per set of bed linens and towels—360kr total for our family of three. We assumed that was it, but our unit had no hand soap, shampoo, body wash, tissues, or paper towels, and just one roll of toilet paper for a 3-night stay. With shops closed early, we were left without essentials on our first night.

As an Airbnb Superhost, I can confidently say most Airbnb stays offer more. This felt more like a bare-bones rental than a hotel.

Electricity and water are billed by usage after checkout. We still haven’t received our final bill almost 12 hours later. On top of that, you must strip beds, bag towels, and take all trash to offsite sheds by 10am checkout—none of this was clearly stated.

Our unit was among the farthest from the main building, 1.61 km away. There’s a train, but it was so overcrowded we were only able to use it twice in 3 days.

Hotels.com should better highlight these details. What should’ve been a relaxing family trip turned into an avoidable headache.

Smart, basic accommodation in a great location for local attractions. We took our own bedding and towels and the beds were comfortable enough. Although no extras eg washing up liquid etc was provided, the kitchen was well equipped with utensils and crockery. Perfectly adequate for our holiday as we were out most of the time. The only thing if you are travelling with a crawling/toddling baby is all the floor in the living area was tiled and there was nowhere safe really other than the cot/high chair to put the baby whilst in the house.
It was about a 20 minute walk to Lalandia centre from our lodge and the facilities there are fantastic. The supermarket seemed to have most things that you might need and although pricey, we didn't think it was out of the way expensive for a Danish resort shop.
All in all, would absolutely recommend a holiday to Lalandia.

Very good place for families with kids, all facilities and activities for kids under 1 roof, only drawback was the walking distance from holiday home to the main lalandia activities area. There was is only 1 small train every 30 mins, and that too was always full to get a seat. It is difficult with toddlers to walk long distances after a tiring day at legoland and with luggage.

Lovely accommodation but let down by facilities closing early.
I would have given 5 stars but didn't because they charge you extra for towels, bed linen and the gas, electric, water that is used in the accommodation.

Their pricing should be more transparent! I would prefer to pay larger upfront costs rather sneaky unusual add on costs.

The lodges were lovely and clean, there is lots of space between them so you never felt overlooked. They also provided more things in the house than I'm used to. There was dishwasher tablets and tea towels. The shop in the main building was also really good and not too expensive. If anything the site is too big and a long walk to the main bit especially if you have a child who normally doesn't use a buggy. The main bit is really good and has lots to do. There wasn't much live entertainment when we were there despite having a stage.

Legoland and Wow park are within walking distance both of which id reccomend and need full days.

We had a great 5 night stay as a young family of 5 (kids aged 6, 3 and 1) here and had a fantastic time staying at the Lalandia lodge. It was clean and had everything stated, we were provided with a cot and checked in at the reception, which was easy to do. One thing to note is that you get charged for bedding and have to make your beds yourself. Also you get charged for energy and water costs but when we went in October, although it was cold, the lodge was very warm and we didn't have to turn the heating on during our stay.

The activities provided were great and we made use of the swimming and softplay that were included with staying at the lodge. Our 6 year old could access most of the activities, which we did a pay as you go. He did: ice skating, tobogganing, wall climbing, mini golf and zip wire and as a family we did bowling, shuffleboard and football pool. Pay as you go worked well for us as our 2 younger ones couldn't access everything but if all 3 of them were over 6 years old, we would have booked through the Lalandia website and booked the gold wristbands where you can go on all the activities unlimited times during your stay but you have to buy them 5 days in advance and the whole household have to buy them.

We tried all the restaurants and they were pretty decent. It did get expensive though so we made use of the supermarket there and had a few sandwich lunches. As a kitchen is provided at the lodge, we saw many families buying groceries to cook dinner too.

Just had an amazing few days in Billund. Legoland, Lego House, Lalandia. Everywhere is walking distance. All the staff were amazing, so friendly, nothing was too much trouble. The Lego House is a great day out.

The prices in Denmark/Billund are about the same as the UK for food and drinks. The supermarket in Lalandia is fantastic. The accommodation was clean and spacious.

The Italian Pizza in the Plaza at Lalandia is fantastic. All freshly made to order.

Billund is flat and we found it very disabled friendly for wheelchairs.

I wish I had found this place when before :) Great for a mini break.

We were lucky as our villa was fairly close (10 min walk) to the main building / shuttle. My only issue is dragging your suitcases to the bowling alley when the service desk is shut to then drag them all the way back to the service centre with staff to book in, a buzzer system or being manned till later would be helpful. Other than that everything was perfect. Aquadome kept my boy entertained for 5 hours and he could have carried on. Bones was lush. Accommodation was perfect, clean, tidy everythimg you needed.

Only negative is we arrived at night time and hotels.com didn’t release chalet number so we were in pitch black with a long walk to try find out accommodation after the security guard gave us a key which wasn’t ideal with small children so keep in mind if you’re travelling at night as the reception is closed up!

We enjoyed our stay at Lalandia. Close to the attractions of Lego land and made use of the city shuttle bus to Lego house.
Properties are quite a walk from the centre. The train was useful but could do with running more frequently as was always full.
Denmark is expensive.
Kids had a ball.
Would recommend. Couldn’t fault our accommodation. Just mind there are extra expenses such as linen hire and water/heat and electric at the end.

The staff were very helpful always, especially when I contacted them in advance to arrange linens because we would be checking in late. The onsite supermarket is well stocked and reasonably priced. Our house was clean and comfortable and convenient and everything is very handy to access using the shuttle or walking. The only trouble we had was in finding the service centre, which is inside the large main activity building. The house addresses are the street names you should use to navigate. Lots of fun at the Aquadome and wonderful playgrounds in every “neighbourhood”! Legoland walkable from the main building which is accessible via a train run by the resort.

Great, but a bit frustrating.

We paid £270 a night for 3 nights, but the man got charged for linen (£45), and charged for electricity, water and heating (£17), including the heating that was inexplicably on when we got there (the place was like an oven, it was end of July and 24 degrees outside), no notification of that and no instructions on how to turn it off / down - strange underfloor heating, and presumably for standard things like the fridge freezer to be on during our time there. Surely a more reasonable way of doing it would be to have a cap on the regular usage and charge to use more.

Lalandia itself was great, but I wouldn’t trust the lifeguards in the (brilliant) pool area to be effective. Never really saw one actually working, always just chatting and joking with one another.

The shuttle train was infrequent and always packed out, so get ready to do a lot of walking if you don’t want to take a car.

greatest long weekend Scandi getaWAY!!!

The kids loved it, absolutely loved!!! We had a perfect stay, played football, mini golf, shopped and spent close to 10 hours in the Aquadome! Walking distance to both Lego Hose and Legoland. The restaurants were perfect, bit expensive, but Scandinavia will always be pricey for non-Scandinavians! The mini football pitches inside the soft play area (Monky Tonky land) were spectacular as well. All the staff were very friendly, and always ready to bend the rues a bit to help the guests. Only thing would say is that the train that takes you to the accommodation needs more wagons, pls ;)

Had a cottage here, it was a great place to stay. Cottage was modern, clean, everything worked: included a full oven, hob and washer dryer.

The Lalandia waterpark was awesome, my seven year old boy loved it, we stayed for a whole day and came back later in the week. He liked monkey tonky land too, soft play is in good condition and clean.

Supermarket on premises was very well stocked and competitive to in town.

Two things to note well: if you are arriving outside of 9pm, CALL in advance. Security will let you in, but there is no 24hr reception - the main building will be locked and the grounds a ghost town. Once you get checked in then you walk to your cabin if you didn't bring a car, because the site transport doesn't run later on.

Also, if you find a weird banging when windy outside, go around the side of your cottage and find the car charger lead: it's knocking on your bedroom wall like it wants to come inside and snuggle.

Tie it up or put it on the ground: enjoy the quiet!

We had to walk 1,6km to go to the swimming area or wait 3in for a little train that was always full. So it meant loosing 2h per day in going back and forth and a lot of frustration. No bike rental possibility. Accessibility and transport is really a big minus.

Overall highly recommended. Classic lodge better than design lodge for young families. Kitchen well stocked in terms of utensils but no toilet paper, washing up liquid, salt oil etc. Hired sheets and towels were ok. Lots to do onsite. Very good service from all the staff. This 'resort' will nickel and dime you to death! From charging to use bed sheets and even pillow cases for the accomodation you paid for to charging for electricity, water and power used to charging additional for the access to the water park this 'resort' (I use that term very lightly as this place is far from a resort) to charging additional for late check out and requiring 48 hrs. in advance to request to pay for a late check out this place will leave you wishing you had stayed elsewhere. Oh - and not to mention checking in advance to ensure late check-in was okay only to arrive and find the 'reception' - called \"Service Center\" closed and the late check in number agent refusing to help. Do your homework before considering staying here.

Booked a stay through Travelocity which did not inform us that bed linens and towels are NOT provided! When we arrived in our room and found no bedlinens or towels we looked on the Lanadia website which states that bedlinens and towels can be rented but only if you book through their website and linen reservations must be made 7 days ahead of time. When we complained to the registration desk they did say that they could rent us linens and towel. Even 1/2 star motels provide bedlinens and towels. This place did not. Also guests will be billed for any water and electricity used but rates are not provided. This removes any enjoyment of a stay as guests feel as though they are being fleeced or nickel-and-dimed. Also the \"modern\" decor has all the charm of a bus-stop shelter and the overhead lighting in the kitchen/dining/living area of unit has opaque shades (think barn light style) which prevents lights from illuminating any part of the room other than immediately below each fixture. So when you do turn on the lights and pay for electricity you only get a small amount of light for the electricity which you are paying for. The exterior door of the unit utilizes the weird Danish style locking handle which is difficult to get to lock so there is that added safety hazard where we frequently could not get our door to properly lock.

Be care of extra charges before the booking. They will charge everything and fine on everything. They will charge on all electrics, water, heating. Linens (you have to buy per person). They dont offer even bin bags or you get penalty. They will fine you if you leave dishes in dishwashers which means you cannot use the machine for the day`s breakfast when you check out. If you wash yourself, they dont provide wash liquid. Basically, they want to charge everything!

Lovely spacious cottage, great facilities. The kids and adults loved the waterpark, although the lifeguards were scarce. The staff were fantastic and very kind and helpful - as it was quiet they let us use the trampolines and tobogganing for as long as we wanted. The only downside was our cottage was a long walk from the main complex and the tractor train was often full so had to walk 20 minutes. They need more carriages or two tractors for busy times of the day. I'd recommend taking scooters or bikes (or rollerskates!) for this reason. Free circular shuttle bus to airport and attractions was useful. Easy walking distance to Legoland and about 15 min walk to Lego House. Would definitely stay there again.

Great stay at Lalandia, the house has all you might need. Clean and cosy, well equipped kitchen. Nice beds, pillows could be better. Big spacious bathroom with shower and bubble bathtub.
Lalandia is pretty nice, the Aquadome is very noisy. Not so clean shower-area, many people ignore the showering recommendations and just wet themselves so they would look like showering.
Nice boutiques, pretty pricey thought.
All in all much better stay than at hotel Legoland, and not as expensive

3'rd time to Lalandia

Our family of 2 adult and 3 kids aged 0, 2 & 5 stayed in Lalandia from Saturday to Thursday. Everything went well with the check-in and we easily got our rented house, which was clean and fully lived up to our expectations. End of August seems to be a good time to visit Lalandia, since the amount of guests were limited, so we had plenty of space and there were no waiting to any of the activities in the aquadome.

This was our 3'rd trip to Lalandia and we all love it, and we are surely coming back.

The kids loved the slides and the cabins were well kept. However, there were WAY too many people there: it is too soon for that crowd. Especially in the small tractor that shuttles from the cabins. The tractors were dirty and there was no effort to social distance. Overall, it seemed like careless. We often choose to walk with three tired kids because the transport system
was so poorly adapted to the current reality.

Very nice, but ill equiped for guests. Salt, assorted teas, cleaning rugs, would go a long way. For families, a blender, non-breakable utensils like plates and bowls.

The chalet was extremely well equipped including a dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer, in fact the only thing missing was a BBQ.
Around the chalets are numerous play areas including Basketball courts and Football pitches
We were a 3-4 minute walk from the main complex or you can use the 'Train' if you don't mind the wait or it being cramped.
The main complex itself looks a bit on the small size but with so much to do in there it's not. The supermarket is not overpriced (totally different to UK holiday parks) and the restaurants seem to be similarly priced to other in the area (portion size in Denmark seems to be large).
Pool was not packed, water was a bit on the cold side but once you decide to duck down and watch people eating their burgers, through the marine fish, its no issue.

The use of a wrist band to gain access to property, facilities and even pay for things was such an amazing concept. The resort itself was expensive for food and drink but you don’t mind as it’s brilliant customer service

Our 2nd visit here. Lalandia is the perfect place for a relaxed getaway. The accommodation is superb - very clean, quiet and comfortable. The location is ideal to visit Legoland and the Lego House. Billund is a lovely place to visit.

Ask them to double check their wristband tags!

Gave us electronic tags to access facilities and our room, which did not work (wasting 25 mins in trying to get into our room -
standing in the dark and near freezing cold to wait for someone to let us in and then having to miss the legoland firework show). On entry, noticed heating was set high and nearly all lighting were non energy saving - not great for a place that charges for utilities on top of room/lodge. Then had to go to reception to change tags in order to access facilities, wasting more time.

Lalandia is a fantastic resort right in the doorste of LEGOLAND Billund. The aqua dome is amazing and the other sports facilities are brilliant (we paid for bowling and mini golf). We loved the wristband system and the on site supermarket had everything we needed. Only small gripes are no hairdryer or iron in the villa and beds only had one pillow and were quite uncomfortable. We will definitely return when we go back to legoland.

Our 6 night stay at Lalandia Billund

We flew into Billund airport, picked up our hire car & drove for less than 5 minutes to Lalandia. The Service Center is in the main building & they allowed us check-in early as our lodge was ready. The lodges have free parking & free WiFi. Our Classic mobility-friendly lodge was well-equipped & clean. We’re used to air traffic at home but the aeroplane was very minimal inside our cosy, warm lodge. We didn’t order linen & towels in advance so paid & collected these on arrival (you are expected to make-up your own beds).
We arrived on Wednesday 12th September, we didn’t see the “train” & we had few neighbours. We drove out to Netto supermarket less than 5 minutes drive away in Billund town centre to get our food for the week. We walked from our lodge on Hyldestien along the train’s route to the main Lalandia building, it took about 20+ minutes to walk there with our 3 year old. The goats & baby goats behind the main building were adorable!
There are several outdoor kids play areas which our son enjoyed. More people arrived on Thursday 13th September as Legoland opens Friday - Monday at this point in the year as the Danish school term time & the train starting running again. The on-site supermarket was well-equipped & we watched the “Monky Tonky” kids entertainment although we don’t speak a word of Danish, our 3 year old son enjoyed clapping along to the songs. Nice clean house, great stay! well equiped, just bathroom is little less luxurious as the rest of the house. lots of playgardens in the neighbourhood for the kids. Easy walk and option to take the hotel train to reception and swimming pool.

Fantastic family holiday village.

The main theme for us is the outsatnding water park which is simple, great fun.

As important as the facilities is the feeling of being safe in the entire village. It is one of the only places that I feel happy allowing my two young boys out to wonder around and play and not worry about them. Looking forward to our next trip.
