Alors, je ne pense pas être un client chiant. Mais, je travaille dans un hotel 4 étoiles comme chef de cuisine, j'ai pris poulpe 🐙 qui n'est pas top, si tu payes par carte 3% en plus et si tu payes par espèce 5% c'est incroyable. De plus l'hôtel son taux concernant l'échange entre l'euro et shilling. Le personnel est vraiment agréable et très calme.

This place is the beach resort experience we were looking for! Palapas, to lay under looking out over the beautiful sea, white sand, a pool and very friendly staff! The morning breakfast buffet had a lot of variety, the regular menu had plenty to choose from, and did I mention the staff was so pleasant!
We stayed in the least expensive rooms bc we weren’t planning to spend much time there, they were more than sufficient with a comfy bed, cool AC and hot shower! It is a long walk from the rooms to the beach with a lot of stairs, we enjoyed the walk but it is not ADA friendly.
We used the spa for a great haircut with Ali and lovely massages from Nuru, my son went sky diving with JJ, we booked an ATV tour with OSSELICHE Quad Tours and had a great time with Junior and crew. We had great service from Neha, Haji, Malele, Naheem, Frank and many others. And we enjoyed live entertainment, live music and bonfires at night. There may be more luxurious places but for our family with teens, it was perfect!

For the price, we think this property could be better maintained. We had a leak in our sink that was unable to be fixed during our stay. The room could have been cleaner overall. However, the location was great on the beach and the food at the hotel was delicious and reasonably priced.

I have travel to many beach resorts. By far this was the best place I have stayed at. What made the stay fun and enjoyable was the staff. Every employee was friendly and outgoing. The front desk was very helpful. Answered any question and was helpful. I could name people but it would be to many, everyone was great. Would love to come back one day.

Pros:
- Great to stay onsite for Full Moon Party and be able to nip back to room during the night
- Full moon party was fun and ticket price was included in stay
- Beach is nice with plenty of sunloungers
- nice to have regular staff service for food & drinks at sunlongers
- easy location to get a taxi to CoccoBello for another party night

Cons:
- Shower water was only lukewarm so couldn't properly enjoy a shower - asked to have it fixed and it was not done - got the impression that it couldn't be improved?
- wifi was almost useless - no wifi coverage in bedroom and again was told this was normal and it doesn't stretch to cover all rooms
- wifi very intermitted and bad even in communal areas
- room smelt musky / bad throughout
- breakfast was quite basic / limited for such a big resort and more expensive cost of stay

The property was uniquely situated on a hill which added to its beauty. However, being on a hill made for a long and not so pleasant walk to the beach. My room was also located on the 2nd floor...uggh more walking. The staff was friendly and efficient. I would like to mention Marie who worked in the restaurant...very helpful. I enjoyed the amenities and would come back. I would get a room located closer to the beach though. The Full Moon Party was a plus to my experience...Kendwa Rocks...yes it does!

It was a pleasant stay till we realized that 400$ was taken from our bags. The previous night we checked the money, the whole amount was there. After room service money was missing. We informed the reception immediately. The manager came and said he will check the camera footage that was around 5 pm. To my surprise i learned that the manager left home, when i asked the reception for updates. No updates whatsoever, felt no one was really caring about the situation. The money was carefully hidden inside the bag in 2 different places. Someone actually took the time to dig inside the bag and search for the money, and no one did anything about it. What kind of reputation and experience would the hotel gain form such behavior!!!
Even after I escalated this matter the manager Omar went home without any updates, the IT guy who is supposed to show them camera footage wasn’t there. Till the moment no one addressed me no one really cared

Do not stay here. Location perfect, amenities poor, fridge only works when you are in the room, air conditioning didn’t work, no hot water for the totally duration of my stay, and the receptionist tried to charge me $74 as tourism tax, and when I showed him that the tourism tax is only $1 a night he seemly said “oh sorry, you have already paid the tourism tax when I booked through Expedia” and he let me go. Avoid this place. Save your money for somewhere els.

Never got to check in. Had guaranteed reservations for two rooms. Staff sold the rooms, apparently for a higher price before we arrived. They blamed Hotels.com (expedia) and gave no other excuses or explanations. Hotel said they tried to call Hotels.com, but maybe they were making up stories as they said they could not get through. Effectively stranded us at 23:00 h on a dark road in Africa. No cell phone signal at the property so we could not resolve with the booking agent at Hotels.com. Drove into the darkness until we found a cell phone signal. Called Hotels.com half a dozen times. Spent two hours on hold. Hotels.com refused to find another accommodation unless they could speak to the Hotel. Hotel was not answering the phone. Slept in the car.

Cons: cleaning staff always forgot to give us towels. Moldy shower curtain in Africa 6. Can hear the beach bar late at night from the rooms (ours was far way). Can’t bring your own drinks or snacks in. Power is off and on throughout the night (A/C turns off). Slow service except for the beach bartenders.

Amazing time at Kendwa! Beautiful beach with the bluest water I have ever seen! Beach beds and towels included, great breakfast included! My room was always cleaned perfectly. Although beach had quite a bit of garbage... I also didn’t like how many plastic water bottles they went through, seems like such a waste...
Restaurant staff was always friendly... reception was quite rude. Tessilla gave me quite a bit of attitude when I asked about the excursions, as if I was stupid for now already knowing everything lol
Besides the small downsides, Kendwa Rocks was a great choice!

What a gem!

Just wow. Kendwa Rocks is absolutely the best. We arrived on the night of the full moon party which was superb, the staff is lovely and helpful, eager to teach basic words in Swahili as well. We had a traditional room, quite spaceous and clean. The pool is great, the beach stretches wider than any other hotels in the area. Sunsets are unbelievable to watch from the beach as well. The food selection is great too. One thing needs fixing and it's the bumpy \"road\" down to the hotel from the highway. Get ready for a roller-coaster ride, which is well worth it! This was a once in a lifetime experience.

The resort is wonderful. The only complaint my wife an I have is that the electricity to our unit kept shutting off. However, the staff was quick to come and rectify the situation when notified of the issue.
We would definitely stay there again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a beautiful beach, great food and a wonderful staff. 4.5 out of 5 stars for sure!

We weren't sure what to expect after reading the negative comments about noise, lack of sunbeds and poor rooms but I must say none of those issues were present during our stay and it overall it was wonderful. The room we got was in a great condition, very quiet and had a lovely sea view from the terrace. The beach is absolutely perfect and we never struggled to find sunbeds at any time of the day - sundowners during the happy hour went down very well too! The breakfast was tasty and had a good selection of savoury and sweet - the coffee could be better but we just switched to spiced tea instead, problem solved! We stayed for a week and had an amazing time, would definitely recommend and come back again.

The beach is gorgeous and their are many things to do, but I found customer service to be the most frustrating. The water would constantly not be working, but was most frustrating was having to call 3 times to reception to follow-up and receive the same response \"He didn't fix it?\". One night I ordered a burger from room service and was told optimistically that it would be ready in 15 minutes. After waiting 45 minutes I called room service and was told it was on the way, after 60 minutes I called again and was told that it had come to my door but no one answered (I was in my room the whole time) and 75 minutes later it arrived and I was told that the staff had forgotten the room number...So I was lied to by someone. I also had to follow-up four times that I could stay in my room on the last night as I had booked my last night after the fact - had I not followed up, no one else would have.

I do not want to speak poorly about this resort as it was very beautiful, and clean, but when service is bad, it is difficult to deny.

We stayed at this hotel to have an easy sleepover for the fullmoon party at Kendwa Rocks.
Like: Room was spacious and well airconditioned, nice bed, fairly OK swimming pool.
Didnt like: the grounds are dirty (filthy, even), staff is incompetent (good luck waiting for 1 hour in a filthy restaurant for your pizza), breakfast is a joke. Staff is also very rude and wants to ensure you stay at the hotel instead of using their premises for free. We even got pulled out of the pool (!) to go and proof that we stayed at the hotel.
This hotel clearly makes money of the Full Moon Party as its main business model (which was also a dissapointment, def not a top 10 party in the world, lmao). In future, we will stay at a next door hotel.

At our arrival we were initially taken somewhat aback: shower not working properly, wifi not working, no wardrobes in some rooms, some rooms not cleaned during the day. However: once we informed management of our discontent, they immediately rectified what they could, and their reaction to our complaints was friendly, immediate and constructive.
Setting of Kendwa Rocks Beach Hotel is magical, beach beautiful, not overcrowded.
Restaurant, however, too expensive and menu not imaginative. Good restaurants a few steps from hotel, though.

Security guard randomly asks for one dollar. Disregard to request concerning allergies. Party on Saturday untill about 3 am, noise in the room from the party equal to a small TV at full volume 10m from you. Construction process everyday, all day, constant noise. No room service (except of cleaning). The only tel. no. given to reception is not working ( it is 0, not 100 as written on the sticker). Water on the floor in the bathroom from unknown source. Old decor, randomly based on Indian influences, old disguising carpets. Unapologetic staff that is the most rude I have ever dealt with, even though I tip generously. Average food. Poor exchange rate and up to 10% fees for card payments. Your passport is taken away and hold by the reception desk. WiFi usually works and it is sufficiently fast. The beach is beautiful, but technically it is not a part of the hotel.

We stayed here for the full moon party. The accommodation was clean and comfortable but the service could be improved - slow service in the restaurant and our water went off for a couple of hours on Saturday evening just as we wanted to get ready for the party. This wasn't handled very well and we had to suggest that the staff give us access to another room to shower having sat waiting for the water to be fixed for over an hour. There is construction work at the moment - our room was tucked away so didn't bother us. Also be prepared for a 7% charge for credit card payments.

We showed up and were downgraded to a different room. It was plain false advertising. They said they would compensate by giving us dinner (which was a lie), so we went to dinner and then at checkout they refused to give me my passport back unless I paid for the bill. This place is a scam and everyone is woken up by construction starting at 7AM each morning. Had to leave early because this place is a disaster. Luckily we did and found much better accommodation!

The hotel is very conveniently located to the most beautiful beach ever. Some rooms near the construction area are a bit loud. However, the hotel was willing to move us & also upgrade our room (due to a severe bout of sickness from the hotel restaurant). The rooms are clean, spacious, very comfortable, and decorated quite nicely. Despite being ill, I felt that the staff was very hospitable! I would certainly go back here.

We travelled from Stone Town via road with a private hire cab. On arrival, we were warmly received and taken to our room, which had lovely views onto the beach and entertainment area. We were delighted with how clean and well decorated the rooms were, and these were also cleaned daily with fresh towels daily!! I certainly would recommend this. One negative side is that the restaurant and bar staff are not very friendly and are not very helpful. The food is a bit pricey and the menu can be enhanced

The hotel is perfectly located in Kendwa, the most amazing beach. The room seemed a little bit old and the bed is not very comfortable but I had an amazing terrace where I could just simply relax and read my book. Also, the included breakfast and the location make up for any downside.

Kendwa Rocks was a nice place for us to stay a few nights. We stayed in a balcony room and I think after snooping around this was the best choice or room as others, especially those with a personal swimming pool were really exposed and not very private. They are undergoing building work and our building seemed fairly new which was nice.
The restuarant and bar served good food that was reasonably priced which we appreciated as theres not really much else around.
Its a nearly a brilliant place to go but attention to detail is not quite there yet. But you get what you pay for especially in that area and we enjoyed. It does have a backpacker feel to it as well which was fun but not expected.

Sehr hübsches und gepflegtes Zimmer, jeden Tag wird sehr sauber und gründlich gereinigt in der ganzen Hotelanlage. Das Frühstücksbuffet ist hervorragend und vielfältig köstlich. Das gesamte Personal ist überall sehr freundlich, hilfsbereit und entgegenkommend. Die Hotelanlage liegt direkt am Strand, prächtig und stilvoll- man fühlt sich sehr willkommen und es bietet eine wohltuende Atmosphäre für einen paradiesischen Urlaub. Ich würde sofort wieder dahin kommen.

Struttura un po’ datata ma con camere confortevoli. Un po’ troppa disorganizzazione e lentezza al ristorante ma camerieri sempre disponibili. La spiaggia è molto bella e la struttura offre lettini ed ombrelloni agli ospiti. In generale non si ha la sensazione di essere in una spiaggia zanzibarina perché è davvero sovraffollata e piena di venditori di oggetti ed escursioni (nella porzione di mare davanti ai lettini sfrecciano moto d’acqua e barche con musica ad ultimo volume e c’è addirittura una costruzione di gonfiabili in mezzo al mare che deturpano parecchio il paesaggio!)
Per chi vuole godersi la bellezza di Kendwa beach ma in un’atmosfera più rilassata e autentica forse sono consigliabili strutture nel tratto di spiaggia un po’ più a nord. Per chi cerca invece musica, confusione e intrattenimento Kendwa rocks è perfetta. Nel complesso, la valutazione della struttura è comunque positiva.

Kendwa Rocks: un buon villaggio!
Abbiamo alloggiato 10 giorni in una camera tipla molto bella e con giusti spazi (due bagni ma uno con solo doccia e lavabo e uno con solo wc e lavabo), segnalo solo la mancanza di un armadio in cui riporre le cose.
La zona ristorante è bellissima e soprattutto alla cucina VOTO 10, il cibo è buono e fresco e la scelta è molto ampia (sushi, pizza, italiano, locale ecc), il personale è gentile e disponibile ma i tempi di attesa sono troppo lunghi!
La zona spiaggia invece, non è molto curata ed i lettini sono molto vicini tra loro (alcuni anche sporchi o rovinati).
Non c’è un gruppo di animazione nel villaggio, ma alcuni giorni organizzano spettacoli, tutti i sabati c’è la festa in spiaggia con buffet e musica ed a giorni alterni è aperta la discoteca all’interno del villaggio (carina, musica prettamente locale).

Great Service, Excellent Location

We booked an executive suit for three. The room was cleaned on daily basis. All amenities were functioning properly and we had a pool that was also cleaned everyday. The includes breakfast was satisfying and had everything we need. The beach was very close, the service in the beach was super fast. The prices in the restaurant is not cheap but also not too high to complain.
