The hotel is not up to the standard of other NH hotels. Very dirty old rooms, elevator disgusting with chewing gum stuck on wall. Non smoking rooms have smoking smell, next to very loud intersection, bed uncomfortable, mould on walls, air condition not working properly in summer. The room given originally on first floor had disgusting cigarettes and rubbish outside the window, which was thrown obviously from the above floors.

My advice please either go to another NH hotel but not this one, as this place is purely budget accomodation and not luxury.

A decent stay altogether. Room was clean and service was good. The gym is small but has the basics, although it's warm there and the water cooler wasn't functioning at the time. The location is ok but still need to walk about 20/25 minutes to the centre of town, but the bus links are good if you don't fancy the walk. Staff were friendly and there's a nice bar open most of the time in the lobby.

An enjoyable stay

We stayed for 5 nights and it was really enjoyable. The room was spacious, clean and extremely comfortable. The air conditioning was brilliant in the room. There is a spar supermarket across the road and the hotel is a few minutes walk to the bus stop where there’s buses every 15/20 minutes to bring you into the centre and it takes about 15 minutes on the bus. The staff in the hotel were very friendly.

We didn’t include breakfast but we did enquire one morning and it was €19 per person which we felt was a bit pricey. We made use of the rooftop area and used the sun loungers and the pool. Towards the weekend on the Friday and Saturday it was very busy and we didn’t get loungers.!

Gorgeous property, comfortable bed but slightly firm for me, very nice fresh clean, the cleaner was wonderful and made the room marvellous for the duration of our stay. Everything was fabulous, food was fantastic. Only downside for me was not being able to sit and eat anywhere outside of the room with our puppy, the hotel should make one little corner near the bar for dog friendly guests to sit and eat dinner. If i had left her unaccompanied in the room she would howl, cry and annoy other guests. Otherwise can not fault a thing the stay was lovely

Liked: we upgraded to a junior suite which was well worth it, very spacious and quiet. Good breakfast selection. Friendly and helpful staff. A little away from centre but there’s a good bus service into town that’s regular and cheap. A few bars are local ideal for casual drinks and tapas.
Areas to consider: Hotel front faces onto a busy roundabout so if you are a light sleeper ask for a room at the rear. Lobby and bar area are modern but very quiet with no social buzz.

It is around 20/25 min walk into centre of town (very flat and pleasant walk) but do bear that in mind if you want to be right in the centre of things. Happy to recommend otherwise.

The property is absolutely beautiful, very clean, jacuzzi and sauna immaculate with a rooftop swimming pool. Free water in the room and a kettle and coffee machine. Beds are very comfortable and made every day. The bus links into the main part are fantastic though finish around 10.30pm, but only around €7 for a taxi back. Its about a 35 minute walk into town and not many cafe's on the way

Where do I begin. We arrived after travelling for several hours in 40 degree heat and the service we received was awful. The women at the desk (around 11am) was extremely rude and inconsiderate. When we checked in she didn’t speak to me in a professional manor and she was unable to talk through the amenities of the hotel (breakfast times, swimming pool ect). We booked a room with a double bed, but instead we got a twin room. In addition to this, the door to the hotel room was broken and didn’t close properly. At initial glance, the swimming pool looked perfect… however we do notice that the water in the pool was slightly dirty and one man in the pool (that was intoxicated) felt the need to shout very loudly. We decided to leave the pool (as several others did) because my partner felt uncomfortable. We arrived on the Monday and none of the restaurants were open and we had to get a bus into the city centre,
I’ve stayed in many 4* hotels and I expected the service to be significantly better. I won’t be returning to this hotel again.

Our stay was perfect from check in to check out. Room was spotlessly clean, the air-con worked which is a massive bonus when you stay in a chain hotel.
Staff we're very friendly and obliging especially at breakfast, Daniel is a credit to the hotel. 20 mins walk to the old town, €1.45 on the bus or €6 in a taxi. The hotel rates reflected this fact. Can't recommend highly enough.

It's a classic business hotel.
We booked a superior room with terrace, but the room was tired, with damage to the laminate floor, and and nothing special over a regular room, leaving us a little disappointed.
The terrace (high floors only - see pic) overlooked a busy traffic intersection and the long view was over a residential area. About 20 mins easy walk into Alicante proper.
There was a surprising and unpleasant stale body smell lingering in the corridor and lifts - better ventilation is needed.
However, we had chosen this hotel because of it's proximity (10 mins walking distance) to the Extranjeros office, so the purpose was served.
On the bright side, the small pool deck was great, but needed to be booked due to Covid-19 restrictions.
The reception staff were friendly and competent.

I had my first solo trip here for 3 nights. The staff are absolutely amazing, really friendly and helpful. The room was huge and immaculate. There is a breakfast buffet with a decent variety of food. The rooftop pool was clean, I thought the pool side area would be bigger but it's enough for you to sit and sunbathe. There isn't much in the local area, I got a taxi to La Rambla every day.

Off street parking was available for free all the time we were there. No need to pay.
Nice friendly staff and good breakfast choice although a bit expensive.

Sensational breakfast at NH Alicante!

We had a great stay at the NH Alicante. We tend to use NH hotels whenever we can. You know you will always get quality and comfort. Not in the centre of Alicante, but the No. 2 bus, leaving from round the corner will take you down to the Plaza del Mar at the harbour right in the centre, costing €1.90 and it is very handy for heading back to the airport. Taxi fare was €18. Breakfast is sensational. Varied buffet with decent coffee and cooked items to order. An 'early bird' breakfast is laid on for early departures. We had to leave at 6 o'clock to catch an early flight so early coffee, orange juice and croissants were welcome! A great stay. We will certainly return.

A 2 night stay, the room and welcome on arrival were all as you would expect from a good quality hotel. The pool on the roof was a little small for swimming but fine for relaxing and cooling off. Supermarket and a variety of restaurants within 100m. A 15 minute drive from the airport, but no plane noise when relaxing on the roof by the pool. Free wifi with good reception in the room.

A little bit out of town, but the hotel staff can order you a taxi which arrives within minutes and is only around five euro's to the beach.

Hotel staff and pleasant and the rooms are big, clean and fairly new. Rooftop pool is a nice touch, there is also a sauna and jacuzzi.

One downside as I'm vegetarian is that there is not one vegi main course on the hotel menu. In this day an age atleast one vegi option is expected.

Plenty of free street parking if you have a rental car. I'd recommend checking out Altea and Elche, both great places to visit.

Nice hotel, just a bit too far from the attractions. The swimming pool area is not disabled friendly however. Although there is a disabled lift up to the pool, you need to get over an inch high door runner to get too the lower level before you get to the lift. Also, jacuzzi does not have enough hands rails to get in safely, and there are three stairs to climb up before you get to it

Comfortable stay & very clean hotel. Not the location or facilities for a holiday stay more of a short stopover hotel. 20-30 mins walk from city centre or port area. Short taxi from the bus station or airport. Swimming pool no bigger than a hot-tub with very few loungers. Pool not open until 11 & often up to 30 mins late opening after that with no notice. Over all a good stay but more of a short city break hotel than a holidaymakers.

The hotel was good for access to Alicante airport, and a ten minute bus / taxi to the town centre. The neighbourhood was rather noisy, urban and uninteresting.

We were offered an upgrade for E20 per night which we accepted for a suite with a large terrace. This proved a good 'move' with the extra space and facilities.

The hotel was a little tired in terms of decor etc; the staff were polite and helpful but I would add a little indifferent in terms of attitude and friendliness.

The restaurant was average; simple uninspiring menu, simple decor, uninteresting layout - the food was good quality and cooked reasonable well.

We picked this hotel due to a previous good experience at an NH hotel further south. This is a lovely hotel, very nicely decorated and so clean. Staff are helpful and friendly. Pool wasn't open and it was raining anyway but gym was fine- small but well equipped, jacuzzi really nice. Drinks are pricey, breakfast really nice. Near airport road so convenient but a little far to walk to centre, maybe 1.5 miles. No tea making facilities in room which would have been good

Bad experience with neighbours sorted

We had extremely noisy neighbours on the fourth night and I complained 3 times. We asked to speak to the manager the following day and although we were moved to a better, quieter room ( I was a bit angry that WE were moved, not them), I DID feel that after 3 complaints, they should've been thrown out or AT LEAST given an ultimatum, which didn't happen. On the first floor, there are no balconies, but these people were climbing out of their bedroom window and sitting outside OUR window, drinking, laughing, talking. There was about 12 of them who, apparently were part of a cycling team (this explained why they weren't ejected).
Don't get me wrong, after this, we really enjoyed our time there.

Lovely hotel, bit far from Alicante attractions

Bit of a trek to get into Alicante proper, and very little around the hotel itself, but we were only there for one full day and don't mind walking. Alicante itself is a fabulous archetypal Mediterranean city, especially around the marina and esplanade.
We had to book this at the last minute because of French air traffic controllers' latest strike (42nd in the last 10 years?!) causing our flight to be cancelled, and on arrival they only had a \"smoking\" room which smelled badly. We were on the point of leaving for another hotel when they offered us a room upgrade which was a non-smoker, so we were pleased to stay.
Breakfast VERY expensive.

Excellent hotel with a pool! (Visiting relatives)

We visit Alicante every year to visit my family and have stayed in various hotels in the centre and near the beach. I have always fancied having a pool, but unfortunately there aren't many nice quiet hotels with a pool in the main tourist parts of Alicante. This hotel is probably not great for tourists who aren't happy jumping on buses and finding their own way around cities or booking a car and seeing a different side to the area! But for those who are, it is lovely with great rooftop pool, gym, jacuzzi and sauna. It is most definitely out of the way, luckily for me it is close to my family.

The first room we got faced the street, but unfortunately the last guests had smoked (even though it was a non-smoking floor). We requested another room and was given one around the back. This room was noticeably quieter than the first, so I would recommend asking for back facing if you like a very quiet room!

Unlike the other hotels we have stayed at in Alicante, one of the benefits of not being in a built up area is that you have a nice open view out of your window. I especially loved coming back into our room after an evening to see the castle lit up in the distance.

There is a large supermarket next door, which is great for stocking up on bottled water and breakfast/food when you don't want to eat out.

Tip - The TVs have an option to switch programmes/films back to English when a programme is dubbed! Worth figuring out!!

We will definitely be returning next year!

Very happy with NH, calle Mexico. Staff most efficient, helpful and polite yet relaxed. I was holidaying with my wife at what is really a business type hotel but we felt most welcome. The airport is a short and cheap C6 bus ride from the airport. The marina, beach and city centre are a brisk half hour walk away - we hired bikes - plenty of buses and, of course, taxis for the less athletic. The rooftop pool, the gym and spa are excellent and well kept. Would recommend this hotel to business people and adult holidaymakers.

Solid 3 star hotel, falls short of 4 stars

The 'spa' facilities were extremely lacking and not up to 4 star hotel standard. The rooms were very clean and the housecleaning staff very friendly. There is lack of provision for english speaking guests which in a tourist spot is odd. Reception staff are hit or miss in terms of friendliness and the location of the hotel is rather out the way with little amenities nearby.

This hotel is a great place to lay your head (clean, well maintained, basic amenities provided and comfortable) just don't expect luxury as it is not really that and not geared toward the UK traveller.

2 km from city centre

The hotel is primarily a business hotel located in a relatively down market neighbourhood. It is not well suited to tourists as it is eiter a good 2 km walk to the city centre (and much further to the castel). On Friday evenings the restaurant only serves the room service menu which iws limited. There are not a lot of dining options nearby (the hotel suggested Davi's restaurant which had both very poor food and service so that I would recommend avoiding it )

Nice clean hotel, safe area, staff helpful. Stayed extra night because it was a nice hotel. Parking avaialbe, which is important as parking is a premium. Staff helpful when needed.

Could be so much better

Things were dirty, wallpaper was peeling in places and the lift had gaffa tape holding things on inside it. This hotel could be so much better.

We stayed here 9 nights, we were given a room which was completely different to what we were told to expect, there was no jetted bath, no fridge, no balcony and much smaller, I can only describe it as adequate.

The only rooms in the hotel (8 out of 100) with balconies are all smoking rooms and so for us was useless as the smell was horrible.

The service was very good at the front desk, English was good at reception although don't expect any from the cleaners or room service.

The hotel is located next to a busy 4 lane roundabout and the beginning of a motorway. With the window shut the sound is ok. being located there does give it easy links to airport (10 mins), Benidorm (25 mins) and the north. (Worth visiting altea calpe and morira.)

We had a hire car so the drive into the town centre was 3-4 mins and parking was easy to find and very cheap or free after 8pm (on street not parking lot) although you could easily walk it in approx 10-15 mins however I would avoid this during the evening/night as travelling back you do see various people you wouldn't want to walk past (drugged/drunk people and night women) the area is generally nice this is just a minority we saw driving back.

This hotel would suit a business person or people looking to move through alicante and stay here for a few nights.
