Room neglected. Front door did not close properly so I had to use the keychain for safety. Dont order room service; took over 1.5hrs to recieve only a portion of chips and calamari, which was vile. I sent straight back.

Same problem as they’ve had for many many years unfortunately. Lack of investment from the parenting company. Vomit stains on the carpet, no heating in single glazed bedrooms. Elevator is out of order. Guests knocking on doors at 1 AM waking people up because they think it’s funny. Not a good experience all the way around. I have a lot of sentimental attachment to the Dunk but I think this may be the last time I ever stay there unfortunately.

The room was not worth what I had paid for it looked really nice but the bed sheets were dirty and had a radiator in the room that didn’t work at all they said they couldn’t do anything and then me and my partner went to spa and the water wasn’t wasnt warm at all it was freezing cold and idk what I’ve just paid for so I left around 11 pm if a refund is possible please help

Need for overhead shaver lighting in bathroom. Unable to clearly see to shave.

Special thanks to maintenance for speedy repair of plumbing fittings under bathroom sink.

Disappointment on one day wait for replacement hairdryer. Communication problems between reception and housekeeping?

I was given a nice room at the back of the hotel , but the radiators did not work, it was freezing. There was a small mobile radiator, that did nothing to heat the room.
Also there was no telephone either.
As I was staying 4 nights ,they did upgrade to a better and warm room.

greeting .My signingvin was strieght forward and good communication.
My room , bed linen and towels are Scrupulously clean and very comfortable ,
Lovely presentation abd lovely furnishings, everything i need.
The staff in every category are so friendly and always give a greeting.
Nothing is too much trouble.
My stay has been a a very enjoyable and comfortable stay.
I havecstayed many times over many yrears abd always had a wonderful timevhere and i can truly recommend this hotel.

Stayed here many times before but was extremely disappointed this time . The room we were given we was pleased at the size but it was freezing cold and was given an extra heather which helped . Then there was no hot water to shower so we were moved . Really frustrating when you are only there one night and have to repack again .

We had an excellent stay. All of the staff we spoke to were super friendly and polite. The room was lovely, and the staff had gone to the extra effort to decorate for my partners birthday, which was a really nice surprise for him. We enjoyed using the spa, the bar and the breakfast buffet. It was a perfect base for exploring the local area, and somewhere we could come back and relax in the evenings. All for a very reasonable rate, would stay again.

Only trouble I had was the drain in the shower of my room didn't quite drain correctly....leading it to spill into the bathroom floor. Otherwise, fantastic stay! It was my third time staying here, and I'd 100% stay again!

I had two rooms booked - a twin for one person and a superior double. Both excellent. Gripe for the superior was about a half an hour to run a bath and no Wi-Fi :( possibly due to location at the back of the hotel. We were there for a family 90 th nearby so it was a great opportunity to stay. Accrington was £6 in an uber. Disappointing though to have to pay a tenner if you want to use the pool :( gym free mind.
Overall though a great hotel and thanks for the late bar. Our tariff was RO so didn’t try brekky but a very decent stay in this area. Our room was cool despite hot weather so that was good though the windows did open and not too darn the ground floor to be unsafe so defo a dec place to stay thanks.

We were put in a room where the toilet was nearly impossible to sit on as it was so close to the wall and it had a toilet roll holder poking out, the bathroom lights did not work and there were people walking around upstairs at 2am being very noisy, we had probably the worst view out of our window too. Wouldn’t stay here again in that room, not worth the money we paid at all.

Liked the venue , grounds and location. Also liked the size of the room and having both a bath and a walk in shower. The beds were comfortable and the breakfast was very good with clarly locally sourced ingredients.Unfortunately , there was no air conditioning which would have been welcomed with the weather we have been having. Would also be a good idea to have wash lotion by the bath and shampoo and conditioner - not just stuck on the wall in the shower.

Booked a Superior double room. We stayed overnight for a wedding which was actually at another nearby venue. The room was large and clean. The shower had very inconsistent temperature. Took some time to get hot water and when it did, it fluctuated. Staying only one night didn't warrant asking to be moved as we only discovered the issue as we were getting ready for the wedding. The hotel has a pool, gym and Spa. If you are staying, you must book a package which includes pool use otherwise its a ten pound per adult cost. We only discovered that when we thought we'd have a quick dip before getting ready. I'll take that on the chin, as i must have missed that somewhere when booking. If i had, i would have booked elsewhere. Thats all. We didnt use any other hotel facilities so can't comment on them.

We booked a twin room but given a double and they were unable to move us. Generally the hotel was cold, the room had no functioning heater and we had to get maintenance to close the window. Tea facilities were minimal. This morning the hot water quickly ran out leaving us cold showers. Will avoid this organisation in future

Beautiful hotel with a great history - from the drive up to the hotel you get a good feeling.
Parking was straight forward just remember to put your registration number into machine at reception. Reception staff were amazing - didn't get his name but what a credit to himself and the company - so friendly - polite - helpful and upbeat - great start to the stay.

Through the amazing old house to our room - we even got a complimentary room upgrade (thank you) old sweeping staircases - oak panelling top quality.

Our room was wonderful - great big bed - quality stylish furniture - espresso machine was a nice touch - bathroom top notch - great big shower with rain fall shower head - top quality toiletries.

Back through the hotel to the spa / leisure facility really nice sauna - pool - gym (just a point it can get busy as it as has none hotel members.

Bar area was lovely sat out and enjoyed the sun on the decking then back into the bar to chill.Breakfast was fantastic - self service loads of choice cooked breakfast - cereal - fruit - pastries. Were able to chill in the lounge area with a coffee and just watch the world go by.

Walks around the hotel are nice - with some of the most friendly cows I've every met - coming to the fence and wall for a pet.

Loved the stay and will certainly be back again when we are up in the area.

A Great Weekend Away

We booked room only as we were going to a 40th birthday party in town with friends who also booked rooms. Everything went well from checking in to the cleanliness of all our rooms and the friendliness of all the staff. We will definitely plan another visit again and maybe next time try the spa facilities.

We upgraded our room but were disappointed by the fact it is over the front door. The main front door bangs open and closed. The sound of taxis rolling up and collecting at 3 am. This isn’t an upgrade regardless of the size of the room being bigger. If they want to charge an extra £50 per night for this room then they should install soft closets to the main front door.

Lovely hotel and a great spacious room. Check in was a bit traumatic as the hotel had taken a payment for one of not our party and not the others and nobody could work out why. Breakfast was a bit disappointing compared to previous experiences. Had to ask for a fried egg which took a long time to come and was over-cooked. No mushrooms. You had to make to make your own tea and coffee, whereas, in the past they brought it to your table.

We have been guests here previously and attended functions.

We booked for one night in a privilege room
The privilege was 2 waters , 2 J2Os and a Nespresso machine with 4 pods - nice touch but expected something more

Since our last visit there has been introduced a £10 fee to use the pool / spa areas.

We had booked the spa and 2 treatments each for the following day so didn't want to pay more for an hours swim in the evening.

Spa and pool were busy and had noisy children playing - we have children and understand the importance of swimming with them but it kind of killed the “relaxing/spa” vibe we had hoped for

£6 per pint in the very empty bar area and breakfast at £16.50 made us avoid that too.

A nice evening away but costs soon mounting , I think the new National Insurance rules coming in are putting a pinch on places like this meaning they have to introduce these costs to survive.

We will attend again , maybe mid week when its quieter but it will have to be an occasion now due to the prices of things

Disappointing stay

Hotel needs a bit of TLC .i was in a premium room but didn't feel like it! Shower wouldn't change temperature and was luke warm at best and tray filled with water as plug was blocked .couldn’t shower in the morning. No bottle of water in the room so had to go and buy from the bar .
Had dinner in the restaurant and steak was tough as old boots ! I did tell the waitress but no discount offered.

Whilst very clean, the room was incredibly cold. The only source of heating was a small plug in portable radiator, which I had to turn off to go to sleep as I worried about fire risk. Also, the tv wouldn’t turn on.

Surprisingly thin walls given the age of the building, had quite a bit of noise coming through from the hallway and neighbouring rooms (including above). Two different height pillows provided, but unfortunately I found them both very hard and uncomfortable. It did look clean, but there was some rubbish left behind the desk, very easy to see, which of course makes you question the cleaning standards overall.
I did like the nice big towels and the food in the restaurant was quite nice.
The absolute best thing about this hotel is Aziz at breakfast, he is a superstar and speaking to him is just a wonderful way to start your day.

The outside of the property and the main entrance gives an impression of a well kept, period hotel but once through the reception area the rest of the hotel is tired, dated and generally felt a bit grubby. The room wasn’t so bad but it had a barely working TV, fixtures and fittings were well worn, a door that buffeted each time another was opened nearby and a radiator that clicked continually - not ideal with light sleeping kids. The bathroom was awful - tireed, broken tiles on the wall, grubby shower cubicle and generally felt unclean.

It was a room for a single night, the breakfast was nice and in a nice setting but overall a pretty disappointing place to stay.

Accommodation was very good for the price. Very limited menu choice needs reviewing (annoying part was they did not remove pips from the wedges or halves of lemon put on plate. come on chef.) Could do with regular sweeping of entrances where the ashtrays are and TLC of the exterior such as sorting out yhe window frames with a lick of paint. The fire escape stairwells could do with sweep too. Staff could do with being a little bit more cheerful (manager please ensure their welfare and adequate pay and working conditions). Over all a pleasant stay and i would return and take up the full facilities available. Generally a happy and pleasant stay over 2 nights.

Stayed with my wife and 8 year old daughter in room 92, which is in desperate need of a complete renovation. Room was not cleaned properly, carpets didn’t look like it had been hoovered, bathroom floors dirty and bathtub covered in hair!

There were two big functions on the night we stayed, one of which was right beneath our bedroom. Extremely loud music until midnight. We could have been warned about the functions as we checked in. Checkin process was poor no information provided, no information about the restaurant, bar or spa in the rooms.

A real shame, as this is a beautiful building with great potential.

Nice looking building from outside but that was as good as it got. The hotel is tired and has not been maintained. Basics like cleaning are not done well. Rooms aren’t sound proof and we were awoken both nights - once by other guests and once by security trying to gain entrance to an adjacent room.

We read the prior reviews and wouldn’t have booked if there were any other options near this location but there isn’t so not sure of best option if you are reading this!

Amazing accessible accommodation

We stayed overnight to celebrate my special birthday. I had an accessible room which was absolutely perfect for my needs, my family had an adjoining room in case I needed support. Anyone with concerns about their mobility, access to showering facilities etc should be reassured that this hotel will cater for your needs! The atmosphere was warm and friendly, everyone was helpful and welcoming, we had a stress free relaxing break.
