The hotel is close to everything in Cusco, and the area is safe. The room (#5) was very cozy, clean and pleasant to be in. Also loved the early check-in (12PM) and the breakfast. Camila was very helpful, reachable all the time and helped me a lot with a small medical problem I had while there. I simply love boutique hotels like this one and I fully enjoyed my stay there 😃

My stay at Wakapunku Boutique Hotel was perfect. The host Camila went above and beyond with breakfast and with offers of snack boxes for early morning excursions. She recommended fantastic dining options and set up city tours that were fantastic. Every need was met and could not have asked for much more. Perfect location around the corner from plaza de aramas in the center of the city. Clean, quiet, cozy, great all around!

This property is in a good location, however it is very noisy, frequently does not have hot water for showers and the plumbing is very finicky. There is no 24hr service - you receive your own keys to leave and enter the property and I felt the hostess was not dedicated to solving issues in a timely matter. I regretted staying at this location during my time in Cusco.

Amazing & Cozy stay in Cusco

We had an amazing experience. WakaPunka is a cute Boutique with everything you need: breakfast, 24hr coffee/tea/small snacks, great location, friendly service.

The location is just a few minutes walk from the main square and plenty of great restaurant options in Cusco.

The staff went out of their way to make us feel at home and even switched us to a 2bed place for one night as it seems like there was a mistake in our booking.

We highly recommend to stay here.

We used this property as part of our Inca trail trek. It was excellent value for money and the staff were really helpful. We stored our bags with them whilst we were away and they easily accommodated our late return time putting the bags in our room. The 24hr free teas, coffee and hot chocolate (self service) were very welcome! Nothing was too much trouble if we needed anything. The staff were very helpful. We would highly recommend.

Decent place, good location.

Great location + place to stay for the amount of money you are spending. Only downside - It does not have a kitchen which means if you are looking for a proper breakfast, you will need to step out.
Also if you do stay on the 1st floor, the breakfast area is just outside which means you will get disturbed if you tend to sleep in.

We had a great stay during our stay in Cusco. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the location is very practical, WiFi is strong, and breakfast is good. The room itself was comfortably, provided an electric heater for the chilly nights, well isolated from outside noise and had the best shower we’ve had in Peru (good pressure and warm temperature). Would definitely recommend.

WakaPunku was recommended to us by a family member. The staff here took such good care of us and made sure we had a wonderful time in Cusco! Our luggage was delayed getting to Peru and when it arrived the next afternoon we were on a tour so the hotel staff went to the airport to pick it up and it was waiting for us in our room when we got back that evening. They serve a very nice and simple breakfast and have coca leaves, coffee, and tea available all day. We loved our stay!

Lovely stay with excellent service at this boutique hotel. We were in the loft room which was not very spacious but very clean. The team is very helpful and friendly.

The continental breakfast served in the mornings was tasty with a nice variety.

Convenient Hotel in Cusco

The rooms were immaculate and thoroughly serviced everyday. Initially I had a twin room to myself on the top floor. That room was small and cramped and I struggled to sleep due to road noises, light and heat. I then had a double room and that was a completely different story.
I did pay for a double the first few days but was given a twin due to early check in but no reimbursement was offered.
The huge redeeming factor was the staff. From reception to the cleaners who made the stay very enjoyable. They were chatty and incredibly helpful. It was definitely the cleanliness, location & the amazing staff who make this a good place to stay.

Accommodating hotel in great location

We stayed 2 nights in Cusco on our way to and from the Machu Picchu area and it was our favorite hotel by far. The staff was very accommodating in storing our luggage while we hiked and before our late flight back to Lima. They also had good suggestions for supper and places to shop (go to the local market!!). The location was right between the 2 main areas of town, filled with good restaurants, shopping and exploring. They also offered a good breakfast every morning. We stayed a night in Aguas Calientes and Ollantaytambo but enjoyed Cusco and this hotel the best. I would suggest using their driver to and from the airport because we used an Uber driver who tried to force us to stop at his travel agency before taking us to the hotel. Awkward.

I stayed at WakaPunku Boutique Hotel for 5 nights and used it as my base fro my travels in the Cusco area. The hotel is right in the center of Cusco, so ideal for walking in town and get to various restaurants for lunch or/and dinner. The hotel is very clean and the staff is super friendly and helpful!!
My room was spacious, but I would have loved a slightly longer bed.
Definitely good value for money.

This was overall a good hotel! Clean, extremely small, always have hot water for tea available. Helpful staff. Only problem was that we had asked for some beers and he charged us $5 when it clearly stated each beer was $3 and I didn't even get my change until the next day. Besides that, would definitely recommend!

great location and decoration. Breakfast was not satisfactory - stale bread, limited fruit and cold coffee. Service in general could be improved: breakfast provided and staff attention. After a long week of trekking, we arrived to relax for one evening in our hotel. We dont usually want a TV on our vacations, but when we were looking for one night relaxing in our hotel, this situation proved very frustrating. The cable cut in and out every 20sec. White-noise, cutting in and out makes it harder to relax. After telling the woman at the front desk, she blindly looked at us and told us she would have someone look at it. After returning from dinner it was clear nobody had even bothered to look at it and the TV was unwatchable for the next 2 days.

Spent two nights at this hotel. The first night I was given the loft suite which was very hot with no a/c, only an upright fan. The second night I asked to have a different room and one was available. This room was on the ground floor and very nice although no a/c was available. The bathroom setup was odd with an exposed bathtub and sink area behind sheer curtains. The open bathtub posed a challenge with a handheld shower wand. The best thing about this hotel was the location, two blocks away from the main square.

Modern with Spanish Rustic Appeal

I stayed here 02/2016 and really enjoyed my stay here. The location is accessible for your pickup for tours (if not a block away) and is just 1 block from some prime museums, central square and a quite smaller plaza around the corner. I believe the hotel had some recent renovations as they now have a new beautiful breakfast area with padded benches and amazing decor. The food was good; yogurt, cereal, rolls to make a ham and cheese sandwich in the microwave, and either deserts for your coffee or fruits. I believe my room was recently renovated (new paint) so by the time you rent out a room I'm sure they'll be done with all their current renovations. There is hot water and the rooms stayed cool without need of an AC or fan through the day. The walls are a bit thin, but other than that, I really had no complaints. The front desk is able to help you out with whatever you need.

The room was clean but very tiny for two people. My husband and I are rather small than even of average size, but we felt a bit claustrophobic there! The effect was increased with the absence of real windows there. At the same time, it was a very good Black Friday promotion, and we stayed in the room only to have a sleep.

This hotel is actually a big house divided into two areas, with one turned into an attempted boutique hotel..and falls short in many ways. It has 6 rooms in three floors

1. No elevator
2. Really small rooms, roof will hit your head if you are over 5 foot
3. Bad toilets - will backup and overflow for every flush
4. Bathroom door wont shut, leaving water on floor
5. Creaky floors with nails sprouting out in places ( I hut my feet just by walking)
6. Right across from a garbage collection area where stray dogs (10s of them) will hangout, making it adventurous to walk out at night

Hostels in the area a better, cheaper by 60%.

It was a convenient stay for location. However, the room smelled of toilet sewage and it was very noisey in the morning as people were trying to get their luggage down the stairs. The wifi was pretty slow and didn't stay connected very well. The front desk staff was nice and helpful. Short walk to center and Plaza de Armas.

The hotel looks nice from our side. It has a good reception and the staff is wonderful however the breakfast is regular - not so good really. Our room was under the stairs and you could hear all night the steps of the guests walking up and down the room was also in the breakfast area and you could hear people talking while having their breakfast . The Internet is good and the staff was really helpful with our overall experience. I would probably look for another one for a few extra bucks.

Great location, Close to resturants and attractions. only 5 mins walk.
Nice staff. The reception guy was very nice and helpful. He helped to arrange an early check in at 7am and let us have some rest after 30 hrs flight and at high altitude. That was surper. He also helped us to call and reconfirm with our Machu Picchu tour agency.
Although the room is a bit small but it is clean and comfortable.
We stayed 2 nights before and after our Machu Picchu tour. They also helped to keep our luggages during our 2 days hike.
We enjoyed the stay.

Anybody worried about hotel location in a strange land, should look at the Wakapunku hotel. As described, it is a boutique style hotel. First impressions are very deceiving. Very cosy lobby. This looks out onto a lovely courtyard.
The very spacious en suite room was a very big surprise. Giant king size bed was as good as I have slept in.
The location for the price is amazing. It is right in the heart of Cusco. As safe as it gets.
All the best restaurants and bars are on your doorstep.

Nice hotel with a great location

I stayed at the WakaPunku hotel while traveling alone in Cusco. A friend had recommended it and it certainly did not disappoint. My room was gigantic! In fact, it was too big for one person. Everything was very clean and organized inside and outside the room. Breakfasts are really good, with a wonderful selection of freshly cut fruits, bread, jam , and other local specialties. Wifi is reliable and they even have a laptop available for use by their guests.
Nevertheless, the best part about this hotel is its location. It is barely two blocks away from the Plaza de Armas, close enough to be very comfortable but not noisy. It is also surrounded by good little restaurants and has a botica (Pharmacy) steps away in case you need something.

Great place to stay. Great room and shower (HOT!). However, they did charge me an extra $25 a night when my friend wasn't on the reservation (even though the room accommodated 3 people). Also, they use Natural Gas for heating and the container is downstairs near the front desk. It smelled like gas almost all of the time and a few times in the middle of the night I had to get up to tell them to open the window next to the gas container in order to get rid of the smell and not blow the place up.

Location is a mere two-three blocks away from Plaza de Armas. The front desk personnel is so great and nice. Breakfast is simple but very tasty. It's great that there's always coca leaf tea available! The room is small, but cozy, warm and comfortable. Right across the street there's this incredible hot-cocoa shop called \"Patricia Yep\". Probably the best cocoa I've ever had in my life. It's a must!

We loved Wakapunku! It's close to all of the action but far enough away to be quiet. We stayed in two different rooms. #3 was very nice with a balcony that overlooks the street. Room #2 was a bit smaller without a balcony, so it wasn't as nice, but it was still fine for sleeping! The staff was very helpful. The breakfast was satisfying, call it a European continental breakfast with bread, cereal, fruit, juice, and yogurt available. For the price, it struck a perfect balance between hostel and too expensive American style hotel. Highly recommended!

We stayed here middle of Feb 2014. We had spent 1 night in a hostel and wishes we had spent both here. It was clean, modern, secure, quiet and the staff are very helpful.
We stayed in a loft twin and it was compact but perfect, comfy beds, great hot powerful shower and good breakfast. We stored our bags the day we were leaving and the hotel arranged the taxi to the airport for us too. I didn't see any iter place like it for the price. Worth booking ahead to secure a safe and comfy place in Cusco.

Nicely a Modern decorated Small Hotel

The location is fantastic, near the centre, but also San Blas neighborhood where all the artists live! I like the decoration, set up and toiletries. As it is small there are not many changes of room changes. The receptionist, who always seems to be there was really sweet and incredible helpful.

Great budget boutique hotel in the heart of Cusco

This is perhaps the best cost benefit hotel we've stayed at during our entire Peruvian experience. It's a very small but cozy hotel located a 5-minute stroll away from Plaza de Armas. Staff was very attentive. We had one of the balcony rooms, which was very big with a very modern ambiance. Room was clean, comfortable and cozy, with a large bathroom.

The only downside was the breakfast; it was good but somewhat lacking. However, considering the price for stay and the quality of the rooms, we didn't care much. We recommend this hotel for the budget-oriented traveler who wants to get nice accommodations after the exhausting and amazing experience of visiting Peru.

I checked out at 6.30am, breakfast was all ready at 6.00am. The reception staff carried my bags out to the pre-booked taxi and were genuine i their farewell. (This is the fourth time I have stayed at Wakupunku). The staff are your best asset here.

Brilliant staff

This is a brilliant hotel. The staff are exceptional, so helpful and will go the extra mile. I did email two weeks earlier and ask that my double bed reservation be changed to two singles. The request wasn't acted upon, so my 23 year old son was forced to sleep on floor. Apart from that, I couldn't fault the hotel. breakfast was delicious, the common guest areas inviting and comfortable. Over the course of the 2 night stay, we didn't have any hot water, but we can live with that

Perfect for relaxing after your trek!

We stayed here the night after our trek to Machu Picchu and it was the perfect place to relax and unwind. It was clean, modern and had a great shower (which was a big highlight after the trek!). We would definitely recommend this hotel!

So lucky to find WakaPunku Hotel!

We arrived in Cusco two days early with no hotel reservation and picked Wakapunku off Hotels.com based on the photos and description. We were delighted to arrive at the hotel door to find out it has no signage...which was a \"good sign\" to us. Once inside we were more impressed since it was quite obvious that the hotel was in the back of the building...probably quiet. The staff person was immediately very pleasant & helpful & apologized for our small room but we were 100% happy with the room & service. The hotel was quiet and great for a a good nights sleep. It was clean, modern and nicely decorated. We loved the location since it was only 4 blocks from Plaza de Armas & no matter where we walked, it seemed all roads conveniently lead to the hotel. Breakfast was simple but substantial. Our only regret was they were booked for the rest of the week so we couldn't stay longer.

Great Place

For the price, I haven't found a better place in Cusco. The staff was helpful, it was extremely secure and nice facilities. Evelyn at the counter even helped us plan our next trip back. I will return for sure.

The room is very small and it barely has enough room for 2 people with 2 suitcases. Some cloth hooks at the back of the doors may help to hang clothes etc. Without ventilation, bathroom has some moldy smell.
Staff is very accomodative and had given us the room before normal check in time. Location is only 5 minute walk from the square which is relatively quieter for rest.

Great location( 1 minute walk to plaza de armas) , modern contemporary rooms, hot showers, excellent staff, very kind and helpful! Breakfast is simple , but puts something in your stomach. If you're looking for a safe, comfortable place to sleep in , relax, shower, and get ready for your next tour , this is it! My wife and I were very pleased.

El hotel está muy bien ubicado, aunque difícil de encontrar por su pequeña placa, aún así es un lugar que te hace sentir en casa, Camila es una excelente anfritiona, por desgracia nos tocó que se rompiera una tubería cerca del hotel y nos dejara sin agua, pero Camila trató de resolver la situación lo mejor posible

UM SHOW DE HORRORES E DESRESPEITO

Que experiência horrorosa e constrangedora tive nesse hotel. Eles se denominam hotel mas se parece mais um hostel! Fiquei extremamente constrangida porque os donos batem o tempo todo na porta do seu quarto, invadindo sua privacidade de uma forma absurda. Passei por situações de ter que acordar pra atender as batidas na porta, de estar no banheiro e ter que ir correndo atender as batidas da porta, de ser interrompida em reuniões. Nunca tinha visto uma coisa assim. Outro ponto absurdo foi que eles praticamente me expulsaram do quarto duas horas antes do meu checkout. Ja começaram a me mandar mensagem perguntando que horas eu ia sair e batiam insistentemente na porta, a mulher chegou a entrar dentro do quarto e começar a tirar os lençóis antes de eu terminar de arrumar minhas coisas e ANTES DE DAR O MEU HORÁRIO CONTRATADO DE CHECKOUT. Café da manhã muito ruim com pães velhos, poucas opções e ainda querem cobrar a parte por isso. Cama dura. Outra coisa que eles somem, não atendem a porta, quase perdi meu avião porque minhas malas ficaram presas em um quarto e ninguém aparecia pra abrir. Experiencia horrivel, queria poder pedir meu dinheiro de volta porque me senti desrespeitada, violada, invadida... e constrangida. NÃO RECOMENDO JAMAIS A NINGUÉM!

Perfeito demais!
Uma ótima localização para fazer várias coisas a pé. Não fica em morros.
Água quente, quarto sempre limpo, ótimo café da manhã.
Luiz nos recepcionou muito bem! Sempre se comunicando por WhatsApp. Muito solícito a nos ajudar. No último dia me deu até um chá de limão com mel porque eu estava com muita tosse. Quando saíamos cedo, ele deixava um box de café da manhã para levarmos na viagem. E quando tomávamos o café no hotel ele fazia todos os dias algo diferente para comermos. Luiz é um querido e o hotel é excelente!
