We had a lovely stay, I’d booked last minute and wasn’t sure what to expect as we usually stick to premier inn hotels as my son has autism and doesn’t like anything different. This hotel was great, clean, comfortable, the heating was very efficient and the staff were brilliant.
The lady who checked us in was very understanding of my son’s needs and she really did go out of her way to make us feel welcome,‘nothing was too much trouble. My son really enjoyed his stay and asked if we can stay again some time.

Good base to visit Chesterfield, big room with a big super king bed, poweful shower and the room was nice and warm. The hotel could do with a refurbishment, but we were happy with everything, we didnt eat there, but had a drink in the bar which was well stocked. This is the 2nd time we have stayed there and we will stay there again. Taxi/uber around £6 to the centre of Chesterfield.

Delightful stay at a charming inn and pub! I loved this place and it was an incredible value. A 20-minute drive to Chatsworth and less than 10 to the Chesterfield train station, it could not have been more convenient. The pub was the best part- such nice local character and such friendly people. And amazing prices! I would definitely stay here again!

Ordering via the app along with a discount code was quick and easy, and within fifteen minutes our meals arrived with a smile, the meals were well presented, and very tasty.
The breakfast next morning before checking out, was also very tasty with a smile again, and choice of toast types and tea/coffee whichever we wanted.
Check out was just as quick and easy, we shall be staying again as it was a most enjoyable one night stop, with easy access to tourist attractions in the area.

Room was fantastic, spacious, clean, quiet (apart from a fire alarm but that probably doesn't happen very often) and customer service was exceptional. There was some work being done in the corridor but that did not impact our stay. We were meeting family and exploring the area and found it was close to the major roads. Beds were comfortable and there was plenty of lovely food choices in the pub attached. I would recommend this hotel.

Lovely and central for everything we wanted to do. Good sized room with everything we needed however the rooms REALLY need soundproofing. Could hear next doors normal level conversation word for word! Breakfast was a bit disappointing; our order for cooked breakfast and tea was taken but no cereal offered before it arrived; no continental offered either and the lady serving had disappeared so couldn’t ask for it. Considering this was included in the price and we were off out for the day so ideally wanted a good breakfast to keep us going this was a shame. We have never had this problem at any other Marstons and decided to have breakfast out for the rest of our stay. Evening meals were very good, great service, great staff and very good meal choice.

Stayed in upstairs room - number 9 from memory. Two nights of very poor sleep caused by screeching pipes in room next door when bath or shower was run. The hotel must be aware that this is a problem.
The walls are also very thin and next door's television can be heard. On the second night, I was awoken by the person next door running the shower or bath at 5.20 in the morning!
Have stayed at the Olde House several times before and even held a reception there but will not be using it in future. Very disappointing.

This was a really lovely inn, myself and a friend stayed and had a lovely evening. The hotel room was large and clean, bedding was nice but we did have a rip in one of the duvet covers.the bathroom was clean and shower was powerful! We enjoyed our meal in the restaurant but there was a lot that was off the menu, we had to chose a few alternatives before we got something. Close to Chatsworth house which was ideal. Would definitely stay here again

Hotel is quite remote from town centre and station - own transport or taxis required. TV in room had very poor sound. Overall it was good for three nights which was what we required

Had to change rooms after ours reeked of cigarette smoke...they'd left the windows open to air it out knowing it was toxic yet they still gave the room to us. Nothing like shlepping up and down floors and stairs back and forth to the lobby with luggage to sort it out. Not cool. They were nice about changing the room, but still it put it on us to have to ask for a new room. Second room was fine - comfortable beds, spacious, and basically clean. Dinner was a rip off - steak pie \"filled\" with steak actually had only 3 barely discernible tiny bits of meat that they had the nerve to call a meal - actually had to get more food because I was still hungry after eating what little was served. Asked if mine was mistakenly not filled and they said no, that's normal. Like maybe at this place but not anywhere else. Absolute rip off. Breakfast service felt like we were imposing on them...eggs were awful and runny yet crunchy...how are you a breakfast cook who can't make fried eggs...Anyway, I can't imagine I'd ever return here. Nothing else nearby so you're stuck there with what they offer.
