Pretty hotel. We had a wonderful stay in room 121. The suite had a beautiful 4 poster and the bathroom a huge roll top bath. We visited the spa and had an excellent breakfast. Lovely stay. Will return.

We took our little dog with us and the only place we could eat whilst with her was the conservatory. This is a nice space but the floor was not cleaned from when we arrived and had something to eat there (a chip was dropped on the floor). It was still there with other crumbs late morning Sunday which didnt seem very sanitary. The spa was terrible - overcrowded, not the peaceful hushed space described in the leaflet. My husband refused to attend all of his sessions due to this. He could not even find a place to sit in there let alone get access to the facilities, as it was full of giggling women toting glasses of champagne and taking up all available space. Very poor indeed and we wont be returning.

Staff were lovely, helpful, polite and courteous throughout my stay. Had a lovely suite (401) which was right near the spa.

The suites are away from the hotel, so even though there was a wedding going on when I arrived, it was nice and quiet in my room. Only one tiny thing I would say about the suite I stayed in was that it was a bit clinical... As in, it could do with a few ornaments to give it a more homely feel but only a personal thing so not essential.

I had breakfast both days of my stay which was spot on. The only thing missing from the breakfast for me was the hash browns and black pudding, but it didn't stop me from enjoying the breakfast. All hot, plenty to choose from and nice surroundings.

I had dinner in the evening served by polite, attentive & kind staff who looked after me the whole time I was there. The food... OMG! Probably the best fish & chips I've had for a long time! & For £19, you really are getting a bargain! The plate of food was huge.

I also used the spa the next day which was clean, tidy and such a nice time. A bit noisy, but only to be expected when it's busy and it didn't spoil my visit in any way, so all good. Then had a back massage which was a perfect finish to my stay!

Well done Ringwood! I would definitely stay again!

We only stayed one night as we were up to visit our pup for the first time. We had no serious negatives about the hotel with the only exception to a bit more character in the room. Our room was a spacious double, which was clean with a very large, comfortable kingsize. We did book a table in the restaurant and the food was extremely good. It is a shame it wasn’t as busy as we expected, specially as it was 5 days to Xmas. If you stay, I would recommend the restaurant. The food and service was very good. Breakfast did the trick for us! Overall, we will be staying again in mid January and if it was not that good, we would have stayed elsewhere. Worth noting, if you are at the far end of the hotel, it will be worth checking out the stairs downstairs before the main staircase as they are shortcuts to the bar and restaurant.

Bed was extremely comfortable and quiet and warm room but the carpet in the disabled room 117 was in need of renewing dirty marks and did not feel clean.the shower head and attachment were broken and hence I had a bad shower.the exit from this part of the building was not lit up well and i found it very difficult being disabled to see properly to get to my car.think I would not recommend or be staying again.

There were many issues with this hotel.
1. Arrived at the hotel reception with all luggage etc., only to find out that the room was in the other building and best would be to drive there. Someone could've said that in a message prior to my check-in. Receptionist didn't show any respect or concern that I had to take all luggage back to the car.
2. Room (so called suite) was a difficult to find as many other rooms, separate building. Finally found the room and had a very messy entrance, full of leaves and dust.
3. An hour later, pitch black outside and couldn't even find the entrance without phone torch. Many windows, 2 next to an external road and privacy wasn't respected through the blinds as no curtains. I didn't feel safe and notified the hotel. I was told that will get back to me via phone but no one did. There wasn't any phone in the room so expected mobile phone call.
4. Back and forth with the reception staff who offered a different room but wouldn't be a suite and a smaller room so denied.
5. Asked to check out early the next day and asked for money back for the 2nd night as a minimum but denied as the manager wasn't available until after 2 days (Mon). Wasn't given any money back.
6. Morning breakfast was terrible experience. So many other people were waiting for tea and trays to be replenished.
7. Moreover Expedia was terrible in handling this request overall and said couldn't do anything at all. That's very poor. Never with Expedia again.

I wasnt aware when I booked that I wouldn’t be staying in the main house but in the gatehouse across the car park and down the drive. I arrived late in the evening and as a solo female traveller it was a bit unnerving having to walk to my room outside in the dark with my bags. The room felt musty and was cold - I don’t think it had been used in a while - it took a few hours of having the heater on to be warm enough to sleep. The musty smell didn’t really improve and I can’t wait to get home and wash my clothes! There was a used towel and a dead spider in the bathroom.

Breakfast was good - self service, staff were polite without being overly friendly and cleared plates quickly. I stayed for a wedding and the wedding itself was wonderful. I probably wouldn’t stay again without requesting a room in the main house.

The room I was in felt very dated! The heating didn’t work and the single pain glass windows made it very very cold.

There was no option of an extra blanket which was disappointing.

The walls are quite thin which was unfortunate as I could hear the person next door going to the toilet and snoring through the night.

Can’t comment on food as didn’t eat at the hotel.

Just a little disappointed about the reaction from the receptionist when reported the heating didn’t work.

This beautiful building has great potential but is clearly in need of some repairs and updates. Parts of the interior feel dated and worn, with peeling paint visible on the bedroom walls and radiator. The carpet in the room was noticeably dirty, although the bed linen itself was clean.

My room was located near a fire exit, and the area around it had spider webs and leaves, which gave an unkempt impression.

I would have rated this stay 2 stars based on condition alone, but the staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly, which brings it up to 3 stars.

As an overnight stop for business users, it’s perfectly adequate. However, if you’re expecting a luxury or spa-like experience, that ship sailed about 25 years ago. Overall, it feels tired and I wouldn’t choose to stay here again.

Spa is great, but bear in mind that it's not included into ones stay at the hotel. You'll need to call the spa reception and book it separately, and tell your bank details by phone.
Also the range of rooms at the hotel don't match with the one at hotels.com. I paid for a suit and hotel's reception got it from the site as \"executive\". Next time I'll just book it directly with the Ringwood

Not as posh as it could and showing some signs of distress, but it served its purpose for a room for the night. The Coachhouse restaurant is nice though with really nicely presented food served. Not a huge selection on the menu to choose from but what there is tastes as good as it looks. Waiting staff are knowledgeable and friendly and make you feel right at home. Breakfast is okay I suppose nothing as special as the evening meals and I’d like to have a coffee pot on the table rather just a cup full.

A disappointing birthday weekend away.

We were upgraded to a suite from an executive double room on arrival and I honestly can't see what the difference was, except maybe that we had a corner bath in our sleeping area but it had no screen around it.
I found the hotel disappointing in many ways.
On arrival, no lift. One of us suffers with a hip problem so this was an immediate difficulty.
There was a fan in the room to keep us cool, and it was very hot in the room, but the windows couldn't be opened as they were painted shut! I'm sure this is actually illegal.
We wanted to order room service on the second night and using the laminated menu in the room, planned to do so. There were no instructions on the card however, and no phone in the room. So we called the front desk from our mobiles, FOUR times. Nobody answered. In the end one of us went downstairs to order the food, a nice man around the desk asked if we needed help and we explained we wanted food. He said you should have called, we said we did and nobody answered. A girl appeared from the back, eating, and said, I was on my break. So nobody mans the desk on a break early in the evening! Was then sent down to the restaurant ourselves to order, to be told that we can't order off that menu until the restaurant is closed! Again, no info on the menu in the room to say this. So we needed to order off the restaurant menu.
Soap was taken from the room that was opened the day before and not replaced, so no soap to wash hands.
These were the memories of my trip.

Terrible experience for what we paid. No mention when booking that you had to pay an extra £69 to use the spa and pool.
There were 2 weddings on at the time so felt like we were treat like 3rd class on the Titanic.
Were told we could not order any food because the staff were busy with the wedding and the bars were for the wedding guests.
We ended up getting a taxi out of the hotel to go for food and drinks.
Also we had a double room that had 1 small bottle of soap in the shower to share between 2 people over 2 days.
Really bad experience would never return.

The house is a very unique house with a deep history set in extensive formal gardens. The staff, particularly in reception and the Restaurant are attentive and very pleasant. The age and design of the house allows functions such as weddings and prom parties to be held without disturbing other guests.
It may be a little dog-eared but that seems to add to its charm.

Rooms standard cheap bedding. Noisy can hear people from next door rooms talking doors slamming. Not clean towels given stains on them. Bothy lodge- last updated 2008. Carpet disgusting, nets on window dirty and torn, furniture old and chipped- odour awful.
No alternative, no return call from hotel despite leaving requests to speak with manager. Another guest also complained and has to rooms- we couldn’t as there were no other rooms available. We checked out.

We had to change room due to the fact it was situated 200m from the main building in a “ lodge”??- this turned out to be a rundown , tatty building on the main road. The room was dated and disgusting.

The hotel’s location was truly beautiful and the highlight of our stay. Unfortunately, the rest didn’t live up to expectations.

We booked an executive double room but were given two single beds pushed together. The room felt dated, not particularly clean, and lacked basic conveniences like bedside sockets. For a 4-star hotel, being told to fill water bottles from the bathroom was disappointing, and the amenities were low quality.

Overall, not worth the price we paid. The setting was lovely, but the experience fell far short of a true 4-star standard.

Old place with lots of potential, sadly let down in numerous ways.
What was portrayed as a secret garden,was so secret we couldn't find it.
Went to find a bar not being used by the wedding party, finally found one in the restaurant only to be told the two members of staff could not serve drinks, had to find somone else to pour a pint.
As a spar hotel I would expect the bathroom to be a highlight, disapointed that water only trickled from the taps and the shower was a waste of time. The view from the window of the laundry and dirty towels to be taken away was not a great advert.
Breakfast, service was poor, running out of food, had to ask if more bread was going to be made available as it had run out, had to prompt staff to get some tea.

Issue with shower in the room would not turn off, staff member nearly injured his hand forcing the tap to off. Still continued to drip for the remainder of the stay.
Although the bed was comfortable the pillows left a lot to be desired, even 3 pillows only matched 1 plump pillow.
Room was okay could be brighter with a fresh lick of paint.
Food in the restaurant was excellent however limited choice on the menu.
Breakfast was buffet style and compared to other hotels I have stayed in could have offered a few more options.
All staff were excellent throughout.

We were allocated a room outside of the main hotel in a lodge, the bedroom window was right at pavement level, the traffic noise from the busy main road was awful, the room was clean enough but very dated and tired.Dinner menu was limited, breakfast was good, staff very nice. I can’t understand why there is nowhere to sit and have drink in the evening. Booked for two nights, only stayed for one. Won’t be coming back.

Honestly, the staff prevented this from being a 1-2 star review. While I don’t often leave reviews, this felt necessary. The room was incredibly outdated, the water pressure would have been more effective if people stood over you and spat at you, there was at least a 2-3 inch gap at the bottom of the door allowing all of the noise and light in from the corridor and the windows are so ineffective at keeping noise out that you were basically in the back of the ambulance going past.

I certainly wouldn’t stay again and can only think that the 4* rating is provided due to the immaculate grounds, building and spa.

It’s more a function venue with accomodation

Arrived at 2pm an hour early for our scheduled check in. The room was not ready which is fine as we were. 2 hours later when guests for the wedding were all checked in and an hour after we were due to check in we got our room.

A quick turn around as we had to be somewhere and we went out to arrive back at just after 11pm.

As there was no one in reception we wondered through to the bar to ask whether we could have a night cap to be told the bar shuts at 11pm. What about fact bar pointing to the noise coming from the wedding party. We cannot use that bar, not even for residents. Can we get a soft or water as I needed to take some pills. The response there is tea making facilities in the room, so we went to the room.

A couple of hours later we got woken we think by someone from the wedding party looking for their room.

If it wasn’t for the food which was very nice it would have got a much lower rating.

Good for an overnight

Stayed here a few times when visiting family in the area. Rooms are comfortable and a good size, service is pretty good. The hotel is in need of some updating however - taps in the bathroom don’t really work properly and there was only one usable socket in the room. Would definitely still stay again, though.

Disappointing, thought it would have some old world charm. We were in an outbuilding suite that was run down. No atmosphere in the bar and restaurant area. Just generally odd. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good.

We enjoyed our stay at Ringwood hall. Our room was very comfortable and we slept well. The bathroom was immaculate and we enjoyed having a bath as well as just a shower. Our room was cold but the receptionist kindly brought over a portable radiator for us which we kept for our stay. We would definitely stay here again.

Very pleasant stay

Went above and beyond to make our stay really enjoyable. Staff were so friendly. Room was clean and beds comfortable. During our stay we had a lovely walk around the gardens with beautiful views of the surrounding countryside. We enjoyed a very tasty 3 course meal on the evening and breakfast was great. Would highly recommend and will certainly be visiting again.

Arrived at the hotel to a warm welcome by reception staff. Allocated Standard Double room no. 134
Very spacious room with large comfortable bed. There was an iron/hairdryer/fan available in the room. The wardrobe had very few hangers so bring some of you need more than about 5. The walls are paper thin as I could hear conversations next door. Drunk women in room next to us that wouldn't shut up till past 12:30am that even ear plugs wouldn't completely drown out, and then was woken at 6:10am by them chattering again! I asked reception if they were moving out that next day which thankfully they did! I did hear someone arrive that next day however, in the early hours and was woken briefly at 1:30am but they seemed to quickly settle.

There are a few concerns with this room which I never got a chance to raised on checkout due to cancelled trains and having to rush to get easier one. I choose not to raise these during my visit as I want to relax and have peace and not be bothered by maintenance.
The hotel has seen much better days and is certainly not 4 star but probably was in its day.

There was bad case of black mould in various parts

Could have been better.

We booked a one night stay in one of the suites. On arrival we thought the hotel and grounds looked impressive and the man on reception was very helpful.
The room was in a converted part of the hotel in a separate building like a little cottage. Inside it was very modern and there were 3 ‘beds’ made up. Unfortunately only one of these was an actual bed. The other two were sofa beds and they did not have very comfortable bases, very thin mattresses. The 2 guests in our party who slept on these did not have a very comfortable night.
When returning to the room after drinks in the hotel bar we discovered we had no hot water or heating. Not ideal but we made do and contacted reception in the morning. Someone came out straight away and tried running the taps (in case we hadn’t already tried that) and confirmed we had no hot water. We were given another room across the courtyard to use to shower in, but with none of us having brought robes etc this meant getting dressed to then walk across the courtyard to use the shower. This on top of a poor nights sleep did mean that we didn’t have the best stay at Ringwood. On checkout the shower issue wasn’t mentioned by the receptionist and there was no apology for the inconvenience. I am completely understanding that these things happen and the hotel could not have foreseen the water failure but I do feel that they could have done more to make up for this. Then perhaps we would have left keen to come back, instead of unlikely return.

Absolutely love it here . This is our third time at this hotel and we love it . Staff are always so helpful and polite , spa is beautiful and food is delicious. Hotel grounds are stunning . Would highly recommend.

Breakfast was lovely and tasty. Pillows in room were terrible and flat. Not enough milk in room , carpet in room heavily stained but the hardest thing espically if not good at walking far is there is no lift and alot of stairs. The gardens are beautiful and spring bulbs just appearing. Nice stay overall

A beautiful, elegant hotel in a quiet location. The room was spacious, clean with tv, tea facilities, hairdryer & bath/ shower.
Although dinner lacked any real choice as a vegan ( the only option was winter salad minus the honey & mustard vinaigrette) and chunky chips) breakfast was out of this world and the staff were far more accommodating.
We accessed the spa facilities with a separate booking, which were amazing. A lovely little relaxing break.
