Room never got below 80 degrees. when I asked a staff member for help with the air he said that wasn't his job and someone else would come, no one did. That type of heat with down comforter and down pillows was ridiculous for trying to sleep. 1 of the 2 times in the 12 days we were there we asked to have the room serviced, bed was made with same wrinkled, dirty sheets. I could see my face makeup and the spots from my hair dye on the pillowcase. Breakfast was the same mediocre food every day. Closed 1 of the 2 restaurants for a private event. Made service at the other restaurant horrible. Had to get up and go to the bar to get my own water and the waitress never came to check on us after food was delivered. Construction noise waking us in the morning on a few of the nights.

I have mixed feelings about my stay at The Tower Hotel.

I paid extra for a Tower Bridge view room, but instead received a room overlooking the wharf with only a partial side view of the bridge, which was further obstructed by air conditioning units. I raised my concern at check-in but was told I still had a bridge view. Unfortunately, this was not the direct, front-facing view I had paid for, and it felt misleading. I chose not to let it ruin the first day of our vacation.

The room itself was dated, with worn furniture, a broken dresser, a damaged mirror, and an outdated bathroom. However, the beds were extremely comfortable, and the location was outstanding.

I also purchased the daily breakfast buffet package. On the first morning, I found what appeared to be a fake eyelash in my scrambled eggs. I threw my meal away and avoided the buffet for the rest of my stay, choosing to eat next door instead. I wish I had not purchased the breakfast package.

Despite these disappointments, the staff truly made the stay memorable. The concierge team, especially Ramos, went above and beyond to help us arrange our Stonehenge tour, transportation, and navigate the Tube. The restaurant staff were also warm, friendly, and attentive throughout our stay.

The exceptional customer service and unbeatable location helped make up for the condition of the room. I would stay here again for the location and staff, but I hope the hotel updates its rooms and improves breakfast quality control.

My husband and I traveled to London during the hottest recorded summer. It was 80 degrees in our room when we arrived and it only got hotter. There is no AC making it hard to sleep at nights. I slept with a cold wet towel instead of blankets. This is a fluke situation for London weather but I wish I’d known before booking.

Our flight got canceled and postponed until the next day and we lost our money on our first night we were supposed to stay at the hotel. I’d hoped they’d been willing to refund the night we missed because we paid for the extra protection with Expedia but we did not receive any refunds. I’m grateful they allowed us to keep our reservation despite the delay.

The staff was very accommodating about bringing fans to the room but it was still an incredibly small, hot room. The room sockets couldn’t charge some of my devices like an Apple Watch or hair dryer so tech was minimized.

Positives: The VU bar on site was a great was to end the night, the views of the tower bridge were impeccable, and it is very centrally located to top spots and the train!

If you can sleep without air conditioning, then this hotel is perfect for you!

They changed our room twice because the air conditioning was not working. In the first room, they welcomed us with only a fan. It was terrible. Thankfully, one of the night staff members did her job and ended up giving us a smaller room where we had less space, but at least we were able to sleep with working air conditioning. Only upside for the hotel is its location.

The hotel is very well located, with plenty to do in the surrounding area. The on-site amenities, including the restaurants, were excellent. Our room was spacious, clean, and well maintained, and the staff throughout our stay were friendly, helpful, and professional. Both check-in and check-out were quick and seamless.

The only downside was the room temperature. Due to the age of the building and the heat wave London was experiencing during our visit, the air conditioning was unable to cool the room adequately. For three of the four nights we stayed, the room temperature remained between 25°C and 26°C, which made for some very uncomfortable nights of sleep.

That said, the hotel staff went above and beyond to help. While the issue was beyond their control, they did everything possible to make us more comfortable, including providing additional equipment to help lower the room temperature.

The hotel is currently undergoing renovations, which are very promising and would definitely make us consider staying here again in the future.

Perfect Location! Steps away from Tower of London and Tower Bridge. Short walk to Uber Boat. Professional staff that was polite and attentive. I loved the hairdryer that was in our room as it was salon quality. I had an amazing view from my hotel room. The toilet handle had a leak but a handyman quickly fixed it. The hotel immediately provided a fan when I requested it. I would definitely stay here again and I recommend it to anyone!

1. Hotel was under construction during our stay. Loud banging and machine noises on Friday and Monday throughout day. Hotel lobby was half closed under construction with a terrible smell inside. Random fire alarm. Not conducive to rest and relax. Would not have booked if knew about significant construction activity.
2. Make sure you demand to receive the room you booked.
3. View of the Tower Bridge was its saving grace. The bridge is beautiful during the day and night.

Super convenient and beautiful location. I stayed in room 450 which appears to be an older part of this hotel. The room was small and dated. The security bar on the door was broken. The view immediately outside the window looked out on a balcony which was littered with vape discards. Other colleagues showed rooms that were more modern and spacious though. Perhaps reno coming soon. Carpet was stained. Hot water and bed and bath cleanliness were excellent.

Hotel had renovation work going on which hasn’t been specified, self check in wasn’t working which resulted in a huge queue but no staff were on hand to inform guests not to try to use it - this then resulted in another large queue at the manned check in - for which only two staff members were available
Our room was tatty with a cracked sink, damage to the bathroom door and sticky residue in the bath. We were also placed in a room directly in front of the lift which was super noisy all night
The plumbing in our room was also problematic and resulted in a large gurgling from the plug hole in the sink every time the rooms above us flushed the loo
On checkout there was no staff available to complain to and we were in a rush as we had a tour booking to get to - hence my emailing thistle direct - over a week later and we have received no response at all
Overall a highly disappointing stay !

The onsite restaurants and bars are very good. The location is amazing. The room, while clean was very outdated. 2 faucet sinks, a step over tub, carpets warn and coming up in areas. The bed was pressed up against a wall on one side, so I had to crawl in and out of it. All of this would have been ok if the room was priced about 1/2 what it was. The price would have been ok if the room was modernized with step in shower, single handle faucet, a new floor etc… overpriced for what it was.

Overall, I had a very positive experience at this hotel. The concierge team was exceptionally helpful throughout my stay, and the self check-in/check-out process was convenient and efficient. The room was clean upon arrival and was maintained well each day. The breakfast buffet was also a highlight, offering a satisfying selection of traditional English breakfast items, and there was always ample seating available.

One area for improvement would be the coffee machine in the breakfast area. During my stay, it did not appear to be functioning consistently, resulting in guests having to wait for assistance and coffee corrections.

Additionally, some of the room furnishings, particularly the closet, ironing board, and iron, felt a bit dated compared to the overall quality of the hotel. While these items were functional, refreshing them would further enhance the guest experience.

That said, these were relatively minor observations in an otherwise enjoyable stay. I would happily return to this hotel and appreciate the excellent service provided by the staff. With a few updates to some of the room amenities, the experience could be even better in the future.

It’s old and rough around the edges but it is a decent hotel with amazing views of Tower Bridge and Tower of London. We did pass on breakfast since it was very expensive for what it is, particularly for a family of 3 ( £22 per person).
We went down for drinks one night at the bar and the bill was £35 for 2 drinks, which is crazy.
We got a family suite which included a stocked, complimentary mini fridge (including beer, gin and tonic, water and sodas. We have stayed here twice on London visits and I would book again.

Stayed in a standard double room overlooking Tower Bridge which the view was great. The room was very outdated and needed a bit more focus on the cleaning. No usb sockets and still old sockets for fax machines! The furniture was old wooden cupboards and the door to the one with the mini fridge was not quite on its hinge. The carpet, although vacuumed, could do with a clean and there were quite a number of lamps and surfaces with dust on. Walls we know become damaged which can't be helped but one of the lamp shades had brown stains marks on it. The sheet on the bed also had a tear in it.
The bathroom, we found a hair or two and the bath itself was quite grubby and porus so appeared to be dirty. I know from experience this can be difficult to make look clean. There were rust marks on the tiles from where perhaps a handrail once was. It was also quite dark as only 3 spotlights.
All that said, the view was lovely, were were staying for a special birthday and I had put this on my booking and around 10 minutes after arrival, there was a knock at the door with a complimentary bottle of wine and a slice of cake.
We dined at Vicinity and the food was plentiful and again a complimentary slice of cheesecake was given for the birthday boy.
Overall the sleep was fine, the bed itself was comfy although I have sensitive skin and did find the bedding a little too stiff.
Breakfast in the Gallery was self serviced and plenty of continental and full English options available. We were room 643.

Not something I would normally comment on but I have to make mention of the towels as they were lovely and thick and soft and a good size. The areas that have been completed are really lovely and I’m sure eventually the rest of the hotel will look the same. Absolute shambles from start to finish.

I stayed at this hotel with two colleagues. The check in process was a joke, it took 45 minutes in the end, during which they couldn't find my booking. The charged me again for breakfast I'd already paid for. The staff were unapologetic, unprofessional and irritating, not listening and they seemed to find it funny that it took so long. The room was dated and the bathroom from. The water didn't drain at all and I couldn't be bothered complaining as the staff were so useless. There was mould and broken tiles around the bath. The following morning, they tried to charge my colleague again for the room which l'd already paid for and refused to believe him. Breakfast was ok but for £25 l'd expect fresh rather then frozen fruit and for this price, instant coffee is a joke.
There are many, many better options in London. Don't bother.

The view was excellent for the Tower Bridge especially at night. The room needed maintenance, the shower/ bathtub and sink takes forever to drain, and you literally has to HOLD the lever down for a long time in order for the toilet to completely flushed. This property doesn't have a GYM, you have to walk about 20 mins to a gym apparently they partner with. Checking in was great as they have self serve machine and checking out takes less than a minute. I kept encountering house keeping staff opening the door even though I have the \" do not disturb\" lights on during the day luckily I put the chain on the door. And be really careful when booking as they have a no cancellation policy meaning the minute you book you will be staying there.

The view is amazing. My daughter had a larger window rm933 with a Tower Bridge view that was spectacular. The only challenge was trying to keep the room cool. They offer fans which is helpful. I had a corner room that was smaller with a smaller window. It didn’t seem to get as hot and had the same great view. Rm953 we all agreed the view was worth it! The breakfast was delicious and the staff was always very helpful

In house restaurants were a pleasant experience.
A fire evacuation occurred during check-in but the staff handled it professionally.

Room 673 was appalling, black mould all around the bath, windowsill was dirty and stained, tiles in the bathroom were broken, cracked and had been covered in lumpy uneven grout. The mirror was smeared and dirty. TV didn’t work. Wardrobe doors were very difficult to open and close as they Diddy seem to fit properly and all the paintwork was chipped, dirty or worn away completely.
Receptionist was very helpful and changed our room to 375, this was marginally better but the bed was awful, sagged in the middle, 2 nights and my back was sore! No plug for the bath and a huge crack/water mark in the ceiling. Would not recommend this hotel, absolute rip off to be honest.
Only positive was a good breakfast and a helpful receptionist. The concierge was a dreadful man, we asked at reception for a usb adaptor and was told to ask the concierge, which we did, he said he didn’t have any, when we told him we were referred to him by the receptionist he said “I’m not surprised, she knows diddly squat”

You stay at the Tower Hotel for the location and view. You are at the foot of the Tower Bridge and 5 minutes to the Tower of London. If you are looking for air conditioning and a mini-fridge in your room that would be elsewhere. This was a memorable visit at this hotel even with Brutalist architecture.The staff was outstanding and patient.

Hotel was under construction on the weekend we stayed, which included no AC being operational. There was no attempted communication to notify guests prior. Construction was loud and was active 9-5.. including Saturday mornings. Hotel was not interested in our grievances, we finally got some room fans.. and a token free breakfast but only on 1 day of our stay. Hotel staff maintained a tone of being frustrated with you for complaining. We stayed during the hottest May week on record, so thankfully spent most of the time away from the hotel, but a relaxing Saturday morning in bed, is firmly not on this hotels list of amenities.

The thing that makes this property so wonderful is the location and the views. The rooms, although amazing views, were outdated. The bathroom could’ve been cleaner. Overall it was a decent room for the amount of time I spent in it. The part that bothered me was the hotel lobby was under construction and hidden by a huge construction wall. I booked this place for the views and ability to lounge in the lobby and have amazing views. Unfortunately the only view was the front desk and a small market area with a few seats. The best part was the doormen who made sure to call the lift as they saw you approach. Top notch. I was charged F&B charges even though I didn’t use F&B on site. So check your card charges and ask for a printed folio. I would stay again, but will call to confirm there’s no construction, because it was not advertised on their Expedia listing.

Location is great if going to Tower of London & Tower Bridge which is why I chose hotel. Hotel is under going renovations, there is no AC currently and it was hot in London late May so that was a DRAG!!!!

You can’t beat the location. It’s right by The Tower of London and Tower Bridge. It’s also very convenient to Tower Hill tube stop. We prepaid for the breakfast and it was filling and fast, as well as amazing. The concierge desk, particularly David, was a huge help on the trip. They held our luggage the first day until check in so we could explore. Very helpful when getting there from the States. There is also a Tesco nearby for snacks.

The only fault I had was the air handler was not able to cope with an admittedly unprecedented heat wave, so the rooms were a bit warm. Nothing we couldn’t cope with. Definitely will be staying there again.

Location is convenient, next to the Tower Bridge. The room is small. I had the double bed and one single bed (sleeps 3). There were only 2 of us, still feel a little croweded. The breakfast was adequate. I think the hotel is of good value.

There is no air conditioning. They provided a fan but there are no plugs close to the bed so it was across the room and did little to relieve the awfulness. Had to sleep with the windows open, which was very loud. Lots of construction in the building. Mold in the old shower. The elevators take 10 mins to arrive and are also extremely hot. Do not stay here.
