The check in and subsequent support from the reception was really excellent. All of them spoke good English too. Only thing was that our room cards stopped working every day. Great room and view and balcony. Very nice breakfast as well. All there also very nice and friendly.

Promenade is a pretty hotel located in a newer office area. While there are many empty stores around the hotel and the streets within the complex are empty, it seems to be a safe area. The staff was courteous and helpful and there was an attentious life guard in the pool, making it a great option for my kids.
The only two things I would make a suggestion for improvement, would be:
1. the trash can in the bathroom: a rotating lid is not the most sanitary option to deposit used toilet paper
2. Maybe putting coffe in the room for guests to use in the nice coffee pot they already have in there!

During the check in we have heard the people working at the check in counter complaining and laughing about other guests in front of us, no problem with that if they had done it privately and not in front of us.
The hotel is ok, room is not big but good for a couple. Breakfast also good, parking included also a plus.

No hair dryer in rooms, just two for the whole hotel

The bed was very uncomfortable. Was supposed to be a queen size bed. What was in the room was 2 full size beds pushed together. And since each mattress had a different softness, I had to sleep on one side. As a tall man (6 feet 4 inches) this was unacceptable. There were also ants on the floor coming from the balcony. Breakfast buffet was OK. Menu is very limited for lunch and dinner or room service.

Very new, and SUPER CLEAN. Nice and quiet, not a great stay for tourists, but if you happen to have a flight out of Jacarepagua it is very convenient. I walked over in about 10 minutes. Also close to the BRT bus system.

Upon check in we were given a room. The room had not been cleaned. The bed had no linens, the bathroom had no towels. Then they gave us another room. This room had no toilet paper, no remote to control the a/c, no hair dryer, and missing half the amenities that the unmade room had.

The hotel is situated within a business complex that is still been developed therefore not much happening around. Far from the center of Rio it's a taxi ride in very heavy traffic - no matter the time of day to get into Rio.
The reception staff weren't the most welcoming in the sense that they only spoke when spoke to. Other times you were completely ignored. You could walk into reception and they wouldn't even turn to greet or be greeted. Strange! The chambermaids were exceptional, polite and courteous. Breakfast time was different! The hot water - sorry - lukewarm water for the tea came from a flask as did the coffee and milk. The staff here were great in that if one asked they brought you a cup of hot water from the kitchen.

Be careful! The sewer, water, and electrical systems were working very sporadically. On New Years Eve, we were without power for 5 hours! One day, we had to tell them 3 times that the room wasn't cleaned, then they got it cleaned at 8pm - while we were waiting. There was no autonomy for the reception desk as they had to run everything by management and it seemed that management was non-existent.

A experiência começou bem mal, com um processo de check in que levou 40 minutos (e olha que chegamos no hotel às 20h)! O hóspede chega cansado de uma longa viagem e precisa passar todo esse tempo de pé, sem banheiro ou bebedouro na recepção, até que o lento check in seja concluído.
O café da manhã foi totalmente sem graça... Pão de queijo murcho, bolos sem sabor, pouca variedade. Não havia nada de gostoso.
Sobre as acomodações: era possível ouvir tudo o que conversavam no quarto ao lado. O aparelho de ar condicionado fazia tanto barulho que me acordou várias vezes ao longo da noite. O chão não havia sido bem limpo. Ainda bem que nossa estadia foi de apenas uma noite. As paredes e o teto do banheiro estavam repletos de mofo!

Serviço atencioso não impede a decepção
O hotel está passando por reformas e não informa isso na plataforma. O corredor de acesso aos quartos estava cheirando fortemente a cigarro, com a pintura pela metade e com buracos no teto. As duas saunas se encontram em manutenção (vide fotos) e não foi possível usar a academia visto que o ar não funcionava e fazia 40oC no dia (foto), sendo que esses foram fatores determinantes para minha escolha do hotel. As toalhas de banho são velhas e finas e o quarto apresenta diversos sinais de desgaste, como mesinhas rachadas, falta de cobertura nas tomadas e paredes manchadas de jatos de sabe-se lá qual liquido... Importante ressaltar que os funcionários da recepção foram super educados e me atenderam muito bem.

Nem de longe tem o conforto prometido. O hotel é bem localizado e ponto final. Quartos simples, cama péssima, paredes sujas, banheiro pequeno e mal iluminado, apesar das toalhas excelentes e itens de frigobar diversos (apesar dos preços indecentes). É um hotel business de baixo padrão, bem pouco atraente. Cafe da manhã tem apresentação legal, mas sabor deixa também a desejar: café é frio, frutas com gosto de geladeira, ovos mexidos no óleo de soja, bem abaixo do razoável.
