This was such a bad hotel experience! The rooms were not cute and put together at all. The rooms were super worn down do not trust the pictures at all. What I can say is that the staff were absolutely amazing and helpful they made the experience a good one. Please update the rooms, the money I spent was not worth what I received.

Very little information from the check in staff,( didn’t tell us when or where breakfast was served, didn’t tell us about the shuttle service to the beach, or about the chairs and parasols available on the beach).Also for an international hotel group language barrier was an issue!
Breakfast was virtually the same every morning, restaurant staff wiped the tables clean but wiped food off tables on the chairs and floor.
In our room there was mould in the shower room, the door was dirty around the handle and along the edge of the door, the air conditioning vent had lots of dust and fluff in them, the sink had mould around the top of it and there was no plug in it to hold water, light switch was dangerously loose and my wife wiped the walls down as these didn’t seem to have been done! There was an inspection hatch that was dirty with grime.The air conditioning never went lower than 22 degees even though we set to 18, the master switch for the lights didn’t work by the bed, we had to go to the door to switch off the main lighting off.
Keycard for the rooms needed resetting 7 times during our 13 night stay, this meant you couldn’t get up to your room via lift without an active keycard, and on 2 occasion we got up to our room on the 10 floor and then couldn’t access our room so we had to return to reception!
Rooftop pool was green with algae and the shower area there was very dirty, poolside lifeguard was asleep in the disabled lift(no help to any child if they were in trouble).

This has been one of the worst Hotel experiences I’ve ever had. I arrived at this hotel in the middle of a heat wave. They assigned me to a room without air-conditioning. When I complained about it, they said they would replace my room only to let me wait for an hour before I really lost my patience, went down and checked out. As I was checking out and describing my negative experience, the staff of the hotel were smirking and giggling. I had to scramble in the middle of the night in Rio de Janeiro to find another hotel to stay to make matters worse, my booking was done through Expedia and the hotel is making hard for me to get a refund for the 10 days I was supposed to spend there when I checked out on the very first day. There was a construction in front of the hotel parking was terrible. The parking attendance themselves don’t have any air-conditioning those guys are there with a broken fan. The whole thing is terrible. The crowd in the hotel looked really iffy. I definitely do not recommend this hotel. If you’re going to Rio de Janeiro, take it from a local and native, do not stay in this place.

I pulled up in a taxi and asked at the front desk for change and there was none I was told. I then waited to check in for 30 minutes and 3 other guests interrupted a staff member and she assisted them before addressing me. I then finally got my turn to check in and no enthusiasm or mention about the New Year’s festivities so I brought it up. I was told it was sold out but that I could see fireworks from the rooftop on floor 15. Not as described on the website which referenced a beach experience. There is black mold around the sink faucet. There was no obvious place for the ice bucket nor did I see where I might get ice. I tried to call for assistance but no number works. The soup that I ordered tasted like paste flavored with lemon with shrimp added. The salad was not a salad that should be on the menu it had cheap lettuce I eburg vs spring mix or arugula and sliced tomatoes with drops of a dressing that was not something I could select. In fact it said pick up to 10 options and you could not pick one. The soup was given back due to its mashed potato consistency and basic lemon only flavor and the salad was also returned. Again I had to go to the front desk because the phone doesn’t allow a call to go through from your room. When I attempted to place my room service order it did not go through because it said no guest under my name was in room 641. There was no manager on site for a busy holiday event?? I am paying $500 the holiday rate for 1 night and want discount!!!

As usual, Radisson is unpretentious which makes one feel at home. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Staff are excellent. Only negative comment is that the swimming pool is too shallow for swimming. Shuttle to the beach, metro and mall is an excellent facility.

First time at this Hotel. The staff all provided great service. Lucineide cleaned the room and did a great job.

I was a little disappointed by the food, the Club Sandwich I had was not great, chicken was tough and fries were soggy. Breakfast had a few dishes that weren’t great, scrambled eggs were sloppy and some of the bread was stale. Had a pizza and pasta both were good.

Air conditioning was an issue, doesn’t matter what you set thermostat to cold air will keep pumping, 15c and lowering. I was told that the system doesn’t actually warm just cools, so if your room is too cold just turn it off. When it is cold outside there is no way to heat the room.

Excellent service, staff was very responsive & courteous. Dinning option also great if you choose to have a lazy day during your Rio trip & just order in room service. Local transportation shuttle is also offered & a table with tour recommendations & sign up.
Although a bit far from the main Rio things like Copacabana & such, I would prefer staying here because of the comfort & “affordable luxury” stay.

This hotel is amazing. We started there for 3 nights and visited many places in Rio such as Cristo Redentor and Pão de Açúcar.
The hotel helped us to get a taxi who helped us to go around Rio, and visited all the tourist places.
The breakfast at the hotel was amazing! Everything that you could imagine, including, fresh juices, fruits, cakes, breads, eggs, vaccines, yogurt and many more.
I will definitely stay here again!!

The hotel is located in Tijuca Barra witch is a residential neighborhood- far from the famous tourism sites (approximately 35 minutes driving from Copacabana), very close to Barra Shopping mall and feels safe

The dining room staff were nice and eager to help.
Other than that-
The hotel itself is T E R R I B L E!!!
Terrible maintenance!! Bathroom facilities don’t work properly. Water in the toilet/sink/ shower didn’t go down.
I left messages regarding the issue on daily basis- but it wasn’t fixed.
The room had a terrible smell, and also did the pillows.
The toilet was dirty (not cleaned after the previous guest :(…
Waiting for the elevators on the pick hours had reached up to 15!! Minutes
The staff hardly speaks English or Spanish.
It was not the standard expected from Radisson and I definitely don’t recommend this hotel

Everybody was very helpful and very nice. The breakfast buffet had the same thing everyday and it was very average as an American they didn't have any breakfast stuff I like.

My biggest complaint is the room is so small, they have no dresser drawers, and you're basically living out your suitcase or stuff on table, chair, nightstand, and the shelf in front of the TV

My only critique is the location. Rio seems to have a love for the word Tijuca. Barra Tijuca is quite a bit away for major attractions so be aware that you'll be taking Uber quite a bit, however to balance this, the atmosphere is calmer, the beach is less busy and the local shops are cheaper

This hotel has a nice lobby area and breakfast is good. Check-in was a nightmare and the staff did not seem at all bothered about shortening the line (I was in front and it took 30 mins). The rooms and floors are poorly maintained and not very clean. Towels are washed out and thin, and the water is lukewarm in the shower. Never again.

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. We had issues with the room initially and the supervisor quickly resolved and was very friendly. The whole staff was great, especially Romario, who was very helpful throughout our entire stay. There are nice shops and restaurants within walking distance. The breakfast was amazing. The hotel has three basic issues:
1) Bad construction of the bathroom creates a flood with every shower, even using just the handheld.
2) Strong odours, our bathroom, after having requested a room change, smelt like a dog had recently been groomed. It is a pet friendly hotel, that’s positive, but several other spaces in the hotel had unpleasant odours.
3) Lack of hotel management presence, too many minor details that some good leadership would resolve.
Apart from that, helpful and friendly staff, in particular the front desk and great quiet location.

Clean hotel in safe area. Staff is nice, speaks some English. The on-site restaurant has quite good food. However, it is far from most attractions such as Copacabana, Ipanema beach, Christ the Redeemer , Sugarloaf…Even though Uber is cheap, the traffic is very heavy so it takes about 1 to 1.5 hour each way to go to the attractions. If you like less crowded beaches such as Pepe beach, this hotel is perfect. But if you like beaches with more activities like Ipanema or Copacabana you’d be better off staying in Ipanema or Copacabana area.

Short stay. Was not good value for money. The sheets had all stains on them and despite the cleaners coming in, they were never changed. In general, the stay was fine but it’s expensive considering the room was not up to standard.
