My wife and I stayed only one night, but we wish we’d had more time to enjoy the area and hotel. Kim checked us in, and she answered every question and took care of every need without trouble or delay. For the rate we paid, my wife and I agreed this was the best place we stayed on our 2 week journey around the southern UK. Access to the water, a nice walk to Land’s End, convenient breakfast and pub food, and complimentary coffee, tea, and round of lager were some highlights of our single day staying here.

Nice location as opposite the beach parking not on site but in Pay & display car park next door. Booked a premium room with sea views but view obstructed by scaffolding but was due to be dismantled soon. Room was nice but not exactly spotless as very dusty especially on drinks tray & lights, TV. Also Shower screen damaged and bathroom blind broken. With a little more care and attention & TLC checks before check in, the hotel could be really nice as fantastic location, especially in the summer for drinks.

The Old success inn is in a beautiful location.
Check in was very smooth and the member of staff was very attentive and explained everything we needed to know. We stayed here with the view to doing parkrun at Lands End and on the website it shows breakfast is from 8am-11am, he was adamant it was only till 10am but made a note we'd be back in time. I since checked and their website does say 11am so be careful here.
Our room was in the adjoining out door block. Very spacious and nicely decorated however the mould on the blinds wasn't so pleasant.
We had an evening meal in the restaurant, i had the trout special which I have to say was lovely however literally a few hours after going to bed I woke clammy with cramps and spent till 2am with sickness & diarrheoa. I felt better the next day however come the evening i worsened again leaving me unable to eat my evening meal or breakfast and another night in the bathroom. On arrival home I then spent another 3days unwell. It does look like it was from the fish! I did email the hotel to make them aware but didn't get a reply.
If this hadn't have happened it would have made our stay far more enjoyable.

Had a lovely stay at The Old Success Inn. We booked a room with sea view and were not disappointed. The breakfast was really good and kept us going well into the day. We ate in the restaurant one evening and the food was really good. Only issue was the bathroom fan was really loud, however forgot to tell them this when checking out, so hopefully they will read this review. Overall thought the stay was great.

Breakfast excellent, good quality and a huge choice.

Best of all were the staff - all very welcoming and helpful, in a natural, non-corporate. Congrats to them all.

Only downside was the room - number 15 - which has poor sound isolation from reception and bar. It has windows that are overlooked by the terrace so you have the noise and the lack of privacy following from that.

I’ve given five stars because of the outstanding staff but I would only stay here again if I was sure to avoid that room.

We were able to check in early which was a nice touch, as were the complementary drinks and snacks. We ate outside in the afternoon and the burger was delicious. The bed was a bit on the soft side for my liking but I had a wonderful night’s sleep. Breakfast was lovely, but it is cooked to order so factor that into your timing. All in all a wonderful stay, will definitely be back

Love this Inn - charming & luxurious but unfortunately has some downsides which they probably can’t fix due to the age of the building & regulations.

Absolutely stunning room, the best bed I’ve ever slept in was simply amazing! Water pressure in the shower along with lack of hot water was disappointing to say the least even when used at random times. Windows are only able to open 3” which is probably some random health & safety law but again disappointing to have an amazing view spoiled.

Staff are exceptional and will go out of their way to help with any queries.

One night stay, late arrival early checkout.
Great place, nice cozy pub downstairs - had tagliatelle which was good.
Room comfy, warm, great, lovely bed. Nice toiletries, amenities.

Left too early for breakfast but knew it would've been good just from the feel of the place.
Decided to check out early doors, visit some places for work then come back at 9am for the breakfast (included).
Correct decision, it was amazing.

Nothing against the normal run of the mill chain pubs I tend to stay in when on the road so much, but this was refreshing and welcome change.

Just a shame I my stay was so short...

Room access was very difficult for my husband who has mobility issues. Next to time I will ask for a room with easier access. However, the view from our room was fabulous so access difficulties accepted. Staff tried to resolve this and were very helpful and supportive.

The Old Success Inn is in the most stunning location and the staff all tried hard to please . However, we thought the bedroom we booked was a deluxe room , which although looked great on first impressions, it had a few issues. Unfortunately, the bath tap dripped all day and night and you couldn’t fill the bath as there wasn’t enough water pressure. The shower wasn’t much better, especially if you have to wash your hair , it took ages to rinse.
We live by the sea so are used to windows banging and dealing with that when it’s windy but the bathroom issues need to be sorted.
The breakfast and evening meals were good, quite basic but cooked well.
I would also suggest that if you are staying , remember to flip over your sign on the door if you need your room cleaning or fresh towels. We didn’t see it and came back to our towels still wet and piled up in the bath where we had left them at the end of the day. This was rectified quickly once we realised but just a note to self to check if you need room doing , flip your sign over hanging on the outside door. Other than that, we had a great stay and will definitely return next year but maybe stay in a different room … unless they get the tap and pressure sorted . A beautiful location and full of character.

So ended up going away and coming back.

The room was nice until you looked. Bed mattress stained, though was covered with mattress protector. Lot of places hadn’t been dusted . Cobwebs around windows. Coffee machine, kettle and fridge only had 2 socket, so had to pull fridge out and swop plugs when wanting tea or hot chocolate.
Breakfast was very well done, asked to change and brought same dish back. Waitress even said chef said send it back to customer. Very busy but no excuse. Informed person on reception that said they’d put breakfast back on our card but that wasn’t the point !
Was so looking forward to a night away.

The location of the hotel is great with beautiful views of Sennen Beach and surrounding countryside. Great access to the coastal path as well. Staff was friendly and helpful. My room was clean, comfortable and cozy. My only issue was the noise in my room. I stayed in #15, which is directly behind the reception desk and I could hear guest interactions well into the evening and first thing in the morning. It was reasonably quiet from 10:30pm until 7:15am. It is an older property, so sound proofing is not so good, but the decor and amenities were very good.

This was a really welcoming hotel, staff were lovely, very helpful. We stayed in a luxury room literally overlooking the sea and view of the bay, which was wonderful. Parking is via a car park just across the road from the hotel. The cooked food and pastries at breakfast were very good. The bar also had a good vibe and also serves food in addition to the restaurant. Would stay again.

Our stay was made even more enjoyable by the staff, who were all really friendly and most helpful.
There is a very small Car Park at the front of the Pub but we parked on the Beach Car Park across the road from the Pub (£9 for 24Hrs).

Whilst the location of this hotel is great and the room was clean and neat I wouldn’t go again. Coffee machine in the room didn’t work. Neither did the bedside lamp. Tried to report it but reception was closed and no one answered the bell. We decided based on the advice from reception when we originally checked in to go for dinner in the restaurant. Checked the menu and there was a good range. Checked into the restaurant and was going to speak to the receptionist that booked me in but she was too busy on her laptop behind the bar. Went up to the restaurant to be told that they only have one chef. 75% of the menu was gone and other items sold out. As vegan/vegetarians there was only 2 meals for us. My partner is allergic to mushrooms so could have it and the second meal wasn’t vegan so she couldn’t eat it. Ended up in us leaving and having to drive 30 miles to find somewhere for dinner. Then the alarms either were being set or went off around 2330 which was very loud in such a calm place.
Next morning go for the inclusive breakfast to be told again that they don’t have everything that’s part of the menu.
Went to check out and no staff so not even able to address the issues. Poor service. Payed good money for a romantic night away but it was a proper downer.

Great place to stay, right on the seafront at Sennen. Steve & Babs we’re very welcoming and gave us all the COVID stuff we needed to know.
Our room (3) was a bit on the compact side, but perfectly good. We had asked for a sea view & got one to the side, which meant you could lay in bed & watch the ocean. Breakfast is very good, with huge portions!
We ate in the restaurant one night & that was great too.
There was building work going on while we were there, but this should be completed by the time this is published. The new rooms that are being built look right out at the ocean & should be fabulous.
All in all a great place to stay.
If the restaurant is fully booked, you might need to go further afield to eat as there’s not a great deal in Sennen. We walked up to St Just & ate at the Kings Arms, which was excellent & well worth a visit.

Overall it was a wonderful stay. Room was fantastic - clean, very comfortable and finished to a very high standard. Stunning views from our windows. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent, and they even had almond milk latte for my wife. So very happy.

A few slight disappointments, given the price of the room, but none of them greatly affected our stay. At check in they didnt have a record of our payment, but they still allowed us straight to our room. Wifi was disappointing- we had to sign in to the network every two hours and it was quite slow and temporamental. It was a shame that they are building new rooms in the old car park, so we had to pay for public parking. And i was sad to see that they had converted the old, very lovely, lounge area into extra bedrooms.

But as I said, none of that greatly affected our stay, and the most important thing for us was that the rooms were very good.

The folk who staff the Inn are warm and welcoming. The bed was comfortable, the room warm, the water hot and the food in the restaurant delicious. The bar was full and there was live music. The scenery of Sennen Cove is stunning, and the public car park is very handy and very inexpensive. An overnight stay - too brief to fully appreciate the area. Hopefully there will be a next time !

Verified traveler

The staff were good and friendly and accommodation was clean and nice but Internet didn't work and not possible to make or receive calls unless you go outside. Plus the TV didn't have a HDMI connection to use firestick or any other media so only local TV 😡

Fantastic

Lovely place with lovely friendly staff. It was spotless and whilst the weather outside did its worts the staff did their very best. Location right on the beach. Any closer and the bed would get wet at high tide.
