The hotel is old and beaten up. The bathroom tub’s decorative panel and rim are broken. Hotel’s features includes sauna, steam room, gym and hammam, but we can’t use the steam room because it is broken, the gym is small and only consists of two treadmill and nothing else. When we booked for a spa, there was a miscommunication because the reception only able to booked for two people instead of four, but the worst part is, the therapist slammed the sauna door and aggressively hit the buttons to start the sauna. We want to use the sauna so we waited for it to be useable, but then again the therapist dismissively sent us out. The food is dead with limited choices. One star for the other staff who are friendly and accommodating

We booked 2 premium rooms in the main hotel with sea views and when we got there one was in the annex, which was a small room, with no room and a terrible smell.

Upon complaint they reluctantly moved us to the main hotel part but the 2 rooms were entirely different - 1 a beautiful large room with a view and the other a small room with partial view.

Overall the hotel facilities were good but the situation with the room soured he visit. When we were checking in there was a lady complaining about exactly the same thing so is suspect that they purposely overbooked the good premium rooms and transfer you to inferior ones.

Avoid the Annex - no elevators, no view, bad smell.

The room was nice and the view was awesome. The people were very kind and we got complimentary coffee. The staff were the best! Sadly it was very loud, I could hear the laundry being done outside my room and the neighbors knocking on their door and leaving and coming. The mosque woke me up really early too. You can hear every sound from the inside and outside like the walls are made of paper. The water pressure was also really bad in the shower and kept coming and going. Also the spa needed to be reserved to use even the complimentary parts so I wasn't able to do it during their 12pm-8pm deadline. That was unfortunate because I was looking forward to just sitting in the steam room. The breakfast was amazing though!! I loved all the different salads and olive dishes! The location was really good too. Overall a good experience.

We had an excellent stay here. The staff were very friendly. The room was clean. Very close to a number of restaurants, and the local sights (Hagia Sophia, Sultan Ahmet Mosque, etc.).

The only drawback was the gym. There's 2 treadmills and a dumbbell set, but in a crowded small room.

The room was clean and quiet. The bed was comfortable and had plenty of blankets and pillows. I loved the jetted tub and handheld shower faucet. Having coffee and tea in the room was so nice. The breakfast was amazing and the staff was friendly and professional. I would happily stay here again, and refer friends to GLK!

The room was adequate in size and cleanliness, but overall the experience felt fairly average. There was also some confusion regarding our reservation through Expedia. Our booking showed a room for four adults as part of a package with four airfare tickets, yet upon check-in we were charged additional fees for each guest, despite no added services being included. Service throughout our stay was generally okay, but nothing particularly stood out, which made the overall impression of the hotel feel more mid-level than expected.

Location was great but we had multiple issues. The first being we booked a junior suite and when we arrived, we were placed in a tiny room with maybe 1 foot around the side of the bed. We couldn’t even open our suitcase. The hotel did move us the next day to a larger room (the junior suite we booked) but they did not refund us any money. Also we booked a massage with them and at the end of our day their card machine wasn’t working and they only would take cash which we didn’t have… it ended up not being a great experience. Breakfast was mediocre. We showed up around 9:30am most mornings and there was hardly any hot food… the eggs were out most mornings. Overall I wouldn’t recommend. Especially when the hotel makes a mistake with our booking and doesn’t try to make it right in any way.

This hotel is in a great location within walking distance of the major attractions. The area is quiet at night and safe to walk around late. All the staff were friendly and helpful and even gave us fresh milk for tea !
With a lactose allergy we asked for soya milk on our first day but on the third day of asking we gave up. Other than this it was a lovely place to stay. It is well worth having the balcony as the views are beautiful.

Great little hotel overlooking the sea.

This was a great little find. Comfortable, clean room, great breakfast and friendly staff. Set in a quiet street less than 10 minutes’ walk from The Blue Mosque and Hagia Sofia. Really enjoyed my stay here.

Everything was great. The train was close to our bedroom and the bads was not comfortable. Everything else was OK. No laundry in the room. we have to pay money to wash our clothes and the room was a little bit smaller for us which we see online. was different. that’s all.

Ants on the floor. Can hear everything from the neighbouring suite. Curtain holders broken. Frosted applique on bathroom door peeling off. Glass shower pane loose and no door. Bathroom fan ineffective. Not enough drawer space nor hangers. Hair conditioner hard to come by. Minibar expensive. Nice that the bathroom was upgraded. Breakfast included but same everyday. Bed blanket too small. The view was nice. Balcony furniture musty. Gym is tiny but there are free weights. Great location. They would shut off AC after making up the room. Housekeeping loud while moving about. Staff nice.

Good hotel, great service.

The hotel is located to the far side of the old town, which is to the far side of Istanbul total. The trip to the airport at SAW was about 1.5 hours in a non-air conditioned van. The main beds in each suite are fine. The additional beds at narrow with a thin mattress, like a cot. That might be fine, if yo are traveling with small children. It was not so good with three grown adults. The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfasts were okay. The same every morning. The air-conditioning in the hotel room was a life-saver in the heat of Istanbul. We were able to rest well.

the alternative room was noisy. No bed sheets!! This for 2 nights.
Our experience was disturbed by these facts.
We had the impression that some staff members were manipulative and not up to it: reception in the afternoon shift. \"Wonderful\" as per your rating? definitely not.

It was very homely and comfortable. Felt safe. My room was spacious enough for me and my daughter. The staff were very very pleasant and accommodating. Always greeted you with smiles. Just returned from a one week stay. Superb location walkable to all major sites. The hotel is in a quiet area although steps away from the major sites. The local neighborhood has numerous good bars, restaurants as well as convenience stores. The hotel overlooks the sea and certainly the room we had with balcony had superb views. The staff at the hotel were excellent throughout. Always available to help out with any recommendations - all of which were great choices. We really enjoyed our weeks stay here.

Not really a 4 star hotel, more like 3 star at the best. Good location and great staff made the stay satisfactory but the room we had on the top floor was very small. The view out to the Bosphorous was very good. Breakfast was good. Very good room service each day which we don't normally use but did here as this helped with the stay. It needs a good makeover but I understand the economic realities of trying to do this in this economy. Not expensive by any means and so value was good.

Most positive elements were friendly staff and proximity to The Blue Mosque and Hagia Sofia. Room was cute but small for the three of us (we travelled with our 14-year-old).

Night staff was helpful but had limited English proficiency. Day staff was also helpful and had better command of English.

Byzantine little street is cute but a little impractical. We found a nice little restaurant a block away and the Hippodrome and Blue Mosque are only a couple of blocks farther. Nice view out our window of the sea and an ancient wall being refurbished.

We asked the evening clerk for a recommendation about live music and were directed to a live show a quick car drive away. The music was canned and the show was mostly belly dancing and some regional folk dancing, which wasn't really what we were looking for.

There are so many great things about this property. I’d start with the amazing staff, so helpful and friendly, accommodating your every needs. The location is perfect for exploring the old city, walking distance to major attractions as well as dozens of restaurants and shops. Charming hotel, great location, highly efficient and professional staff. Only quibbles are that the foam pillows are hard as rocks and breakfast coffee is substandard. A Nespresso machine that does not cost extra at least at breakfast if not in all rooms would add a lot, as would daily fresh water bottles. Charging extra for those amenities seems a bit chintzy; I would suggest just increasing the daily room rate by $5 for everyone would more than cover the added costs. View of the Sea of Marmara from our room and the breakfast area is fantastic. Travelers with mobility challenges should be warned that the area, like much of Istanbul, can be a bit difficult to navigate by walking.
