Facilities are great, however, rooms are very outdated and need upgrading for the price you pay.
Stayed in 2 bedroom apartment. There was practically no water pressure in shower in ensuite (over spa bath), meaning all guests had to shower in main bathroom.
Toilets themselves had cracked casings on buttons, kickboards in bathrooms all water damaged (due to age)

The beach view was excellent, the accommodation is very convenient to local cafes and fish and chips I had one of the best fish burger in a long time just around the corner. The only thing was the music from the night club next door which is open til 4am each night which made it hard to fall asleep. We would definitely stay again but ask to be placed further away from the night club

The location of this Wyndam Property on Shoal beach is great. A parking spot was given to us. Wifi worked well, the room was functional. The kitchen was fine. however, the bathroom window opened and there was a walkway. There were kids that played outside of it so it was not priviate. Also I paid for an ocean view. the room we had sat very far back on the proprety so the view was very limited. From the living room there was a large building to view. I had to step way out on the patio to see the bay.
The people at the reception were very nice ad helpful. there are good place to eat and drink very close tot he property and on the property.

Good spacious room. When with deluxe room so large patio area. Kitchen seemed well equipped, although we didn’t use apart from preparing breakfast. The property is a bit dated and a bit of TLC wouldn’t go a miss. Also a couple of sun loungers on the patio would have been nice. Staff very helpful and pleasant to talk too. Overall I would recommend, happy to return either as a couple or convince the family to join us.

The apartment was very clean and well appointed. It is located close to restaurants and the beach. Beds are very comfortable. Staff very friendly and helpful.
I would given 4.5/5.
Only a couple of issues: a toilet that wouldn't flush which they offered to have fixed but as there were 2 others in the apartment we said after checkout; a kitchen window that wouldn't close completely and when we arrived the air conditioner had not been turned on and the apartment was 30oC the windows in full sun with awnings fully open, took hours to cool down.
Minor things, and I would definitely stay again.

Had a two night stay. Was impressed by the room size and bathroom facilities, however for the price I paid, could have stayed in a Sydney city hotel with a view, not stuck out the back with a view of a dilapidated house with an overgrown garden/yard.
I understand it was a busy weekend for the area but overpriced for what I stayed in.

Reception and the check in process was very unorganised and chaotic in the reception area. There was nowhere to know where to wait or who was available to help.
The room had a bit of a strange smell, a bit like mold. The room and bathroom was very dated and furniture/ decor mismatched. The best part of our room was the view of the beach from our room.

Nice to have a fan available for the bedroom as there wasn’t an air conditioner (or tv) in there.
Bathroom/shower recess was a little moldy/dirty.
Fridge frosted up and not closing properly.
Staff were very helpful.
Great location, some of the surrounds lacking maintenance/cleaning. Gardens old and unkept. Stairwells/passageways needing cleaning/maintenance.
Gave off a tired feel.

The kitchenette area had cobwebs in the corners and the floor was sticky. The bathroom had no exhaust fan so the walls were damp and you couldn't use the mirror after a shower. I recommend a pest spray as we killed 3 spiders in the room. One was actually in our bed. I was also really disappointed to be charged additional fees for bedding for the sofa and we didn't even get given a pillow with the bedding we had to pay extra for. I had a booked a room to sleep 3. Upon check in I was told \"Expedia\" is third party booking and doesn't specify the extra charge for bedding. For the price I paid I expected a bit more high end and accomodating.

The room while big was quite dark.

The shower was full of sand from the previous guests I imagine (I have photos of this for reference if needed).

The ceiling fan needs repairing and it has a constant clicking noise and the air conditioner controls batteries were flat which required me to climb on a chair to operate.

Over priced for what you get. Room standard was very average and only worth half of what they are charging. No linen changes or any service in 3 nights of stay (it's in the fine print that they only do one service for stays longer than 8 days). Mixer taps in the bathroom and shower need replacing. Either boiling hot or freezing and hard to get a balance in between. No vent fan in the bathroom and unable to open the window or doors for ventilation due to mosquitos being everywhere outside. The garden outside is overgrown and a mosquito paradise. Beautiful area right on the beach. Parking was convenient but all the restaurants around the resort are also over priced and average quality food. Give the Mod Thai a miss as food was awful. Best place to eat was Wests Diggers 5 minutes down the road.

Our room was spotless with the most beautiful view of the Bay and Beach from our huge deck. Loved the massive flood-lit trees at nite on the walkway. Wonderful Massage too. So close to great restaurants and super breakfast place right next door. Highly recommend the Ramada Wyndham at Shoal Bay!

There were three of us, apartment sleeps 4 but only 2 bath towels I tried ringing reception several times , no answer, so had to go down and ask for more. no sorry or explanation as to why they didn’t answer phone. Perfect for a short break

We had a three-day winter break at Shoal Bay, staying in a water view apartment with balcony.
Access to parking and the apartment was simple, it was perfectly clean and contained all the amenities we might need.
A small quibble - we would have preferred a thicker blanket on the bed, although the air conditioning kept the room perfectly warm.
Also, there is not a lot of distance between the balconies, so a private conversation might be difficult when all are occupied, and especially in the warmer months.
Overall, though, we had a perfect short break.

The resort complex and bar is very good for a weekend away. Free off-street parking is very handy. Young check in staff are friendly and helpful.
My room was at a discount rate so I was happy with what I got. Bed was comfortable. Living area had basic provisions. Bathroom was a bit dated but functional

The unit was excellent and it had a had a nice water view. I also took advantage of the 25m lap pool when it was too cold to swim in the sea.

The resort is next to a nice club and a couple of restaurants and there are nice walks with terrific views.
